FET in September/October

I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

I just went to the loo and wiped and have brown/red discharge and some cramping so pretty sure I'm losing this pregnancy already

Oh Sarah, hope this isn't so. Just seen your picture from this morning that's a really good strong line. It's just a constant worry though isn't it, I had this a few times with my little girl and all was well in the end it stopped after a few days. Do you still have your symptoms?

I haven't had transfer yet its 2mrw starting to feel negative already think because the first embryo they defrosted didn't make it I've convinced myself this one won't. The whole thing is one big mind fuck!!

@Pepsipoo try to remain positive. I really believe in PMA and you're doing everything you can to get to this point. IVF is awful. Every step you're expecting failure. I remember feeling the same way the day of my transfer. Please keep us updated but remain hopeful.

My symptoms are still here but I am cramping now. I have been cramping on and off for days but this is in my back a bit now which is new. Boobs are sore but that's common for me pre-period. I work in the hospital so might get my hcg done tomorrow. I don't trust these bloody tests anymore

Took another test as I can't settle myself. Still positive but going to get bloods done tomorrow as I still can't stay positive

5 days past my EC and headed into Oct FET. Its my first one so would be great to have some buddies.

Defos have 2 embryos and potentially two more day 6. Fingers X. We are also having genetic screening.

@Pepsipoo no more staining and the clinic emailed me and told me it was normal. Hopefully I can settle myself until OTD!

Oh great news, try and remain calm. Am just heading the hospital now for transfer. Eeek

Sorry if I'm being annoying here but just updating to at least get it off my chest. Now bright red staining with wiping. Still testing positive although it doesn't look as dark as the one from two days ago. Not feeling particularly hopeful. I'm still going to take meds and test on OTD which is Sunday and take it from there

You're not being annoying, that's what these chats are for. I really feel for you being in that limbo is shit.
Transfer went well I've had a lot of cramps and bloating since this morning don't remember getting it last time but it must be normal, my otd is a week Monday but il be in work so more than likely test a week Saturday.

@Pepsipoo I felt the same way and have been bloated ever since so hopefully it's a good thing!

I'd say if you test by 9DT5DT that you should have a positive by then. Waiting the two weeks is excessive! Does your clinic offer blood tests too?

No blood test just a home test, I haven't taken any meds either so if I test early il know its a true positive. Hope you're feeling OK?

@Pepsipoo congrats on being PUPO! Make sure you give yourself lots of self care and chances to relax. It’s all you can do now. Everything is crossed for you.

@SarahC1985 I’m so sorry to hear about the spotting. Really hoping it is just implantation and has settled down for you. Such a stressful time as it is, I know how distressing bleeding can feel. Keep us posted and never feel like can’t post about it…. That’s the whole point of the forum.

I had my scan yesterday and all looks good so far so my transfer is booked for next Friday. This is my 4th one and final emby from this batch so really hoping it is the one that sticks 🤞🏻

@Pepsipoo are you on progesterone? When do you think you will test? I hope you managed to rest today x

@Hopeful199 it has subsided again now. It's so strange. I just can't relax and actually feel like this is happening. I know that sounds selfish. I should be happy that I've seen a positive test.

Good luck for next week. Have you had FET before or fresh transfers?

Hi girls, can I please join?

We are due to our start our FET any day now…just waiting for AF. Very luckily we have one DD who is 9 years old, started TTC when she was 5 and we’ve had four years of secondary infertility.

I had an IVF cycle last October which ended in a miscarriage in December, no other embryos so we went for a 2 cycle IVF package with PGTA testing.

Had my second retrieval in March, we got one PGTA normal embryo. Since then I’ve basically stalled. I’m terrified. I thought let’s enjoy the summer and do the transfer when DD is back in school. I think I’ve delayed because whilst this embryo is a frostie we still have hope. But as soon as the transfer starts we are on the tightrope again. Im so nervous this will end in another miscarriage. Last time I was an anxious mess, HCG numbers not rising properly but there was still hope so multiple scans from 5 weeks till 9 weeks. All the time I knew baby wasn’t growing properly but there was a 1% chance which never materialised. When we did the retrieval in March I realised I hadn’t had a chance to progress the miscarriage at all. The last 6 months have been good as we have had time to process but also time to not think about IVF and enjoy life but now its back to the forefront.

Noone knows in real life apart from our parents. I can’t deal with updating people but at the same time it feels pretty isolating to be on this journey alone. Appreciate this forum to connect with people in the same situation.

@rollercoastertobaby welcome. Good luck with everything. It definitely is a lonely and isolating journey. I did start telling people after a while and felt so much better and you'd be surprised how many people have suffered similar experiences.

Test day for you 2mrw, how you feeling?
I can't believe am only 2dpt arrrggghhh. Not feeling as bloaty today so obviously I've convinced myself it hasn't worked ha.

@Pepsipoo I've been testing every day haha. I'm now vomiting regularly so I'm feeling more positive!

The first week is the worst. I booked myself solid that first week to distract me. I didn't start feeling symptomatic until about 7dp5dt and even then it wasn't much different than my pre period symptoms!

Oh god that's early for vomiting to start. I was terribly sick with my little girl so I am nervous if this works that it will be the same.
Did you have 1 embryo transfered?
So happy for you seems this one is defo there for the long haul. Hope the sickness isn't too bad for you
