Anybody having FET July or August?

Just waiting for my next cycle to start after a freeze all cycle. It should've been here last week but seems to be delayed so I feel like it's just a ticking clock. This will be my first FET, first ever transfer actually.

Anybody else in the same boat and want to keep me company?

Hiya I had my first FET yesterday I'm happy to chat. Mine was delayed a week aswell mine only came when I stopped thinking about it which was really really hard..
How you feeling?

florafoxtrot · 05/07/2022 11:14

I'm having a transfer on Sunday. I am doing natural FET cycles as my body still managed to produce a follicle on progynova 🙄. This will be my fourth transfer, none of those previously have taken. Trying hard not to be pessimistic around it all but its very tough going.

I think my period is starting tomorrow so I'm elated to finally get a move on with the whole process.

How did you find the actual transfer? Was it crampy? Do you think you can hold out until the blood test or will you test early? I've got my fingers crossed for you. My brother's wife had a baby yesterday so I'm a bit blah today but trying to be optimistic about it.

Oh no, sorry to hear that. I wanted to try a natural cycle because I'm so tired of drugs but my clinic prefers to do medicated so I didn't get that option. Have they any idea why the first 4 haven't worked? Were those all the same "batch" of IVF or have you done more than one cycle? I found the actual IVF part horrendous and won't be doing it again if FET doesn't work.

That being said I have 21 embryos frozen right now from one go round (I started with 23 but tested eight of them and 2 weren't chromosomally normal). So I'm not sure how long I'll keep going with this given the mental toll and financial hit if it doesn't work the first couple times.

No idea why the first few haven’t worked, they don’t really get into it tbh. Just say they don’t know and to try again. They’ve all been from the same retrieval. I’ve had a few breaks along the way as like I say, it’s hard going emotionally when it doesn’t work.
Glad to hear you’re feeling excited to get going though! Fingers crossed with so many you’ll have quick success. Hope you’re ok after the baby bomb too, my SIL is due in September and I spent most of the weekend just feeling so jealous of her

ParkerH1 · 06/07/2022 20:48

@Rtmhwales
transfer went well I got to watch it being done on the screen which I didnt expect. I felt fine after transfer couple of twinges day after and I felt bit nauseous last night but overall I'm good just trying too not do anything lol.
Thankyou for keeping your fingers crossed for me. I'm gonna wait till blood test its only next week so I can manage that maybe we'll I'm aiming too.
You feeling any better?

ChristmasJumpers · 07/07/2022 23:04

I'm having my transfer on Tuesday and started Lubion injections and Utrogestan capsules today. First FET (and first transfer ever after a traumatic egg retrieval). We only got 1 blast from 25 eggs so it all rests on one little embaby 🤞

Hoping4baby21 · 08/07/2022 08:49

I'm waiting for my period to start in the next 5 days and then book in for baseline and hopefully everything looks good. Every time I'm paranoid about cysts. I've decided to do a natural cycle because it seems like my body over responds to external estrogen, polyp from stims this ER cycle, too thick lining on last medicated FET. I ovulated through progynova last time.

Also doing more progesterone support as my consultant feels that that could be the reason for my failed fresh transfer.

Hoping my body plays ball and this works.

Agapanthus13 · 08/07/2022 17:38

Hi all, I thought I’d join in. All going well I should be having a FET 21st July. This will be my 5th transfer (round 2 of ivf) and will be doing a natural cycle with a trigger and blood thinners added in. I’ve had 2natural FET, 1medicated FET (I found it awful) and 1fresh which resulted in a bio-chemical (sadly I got Covid which I’m convinced had an impact).
hope those currently on meds or in the 2ww are getting on ok xx

Rosemary121 · 08/07/2022 20:48

Hi Everyone 🖐

I'm also due to have my first FET later this month, somewhere around the 18th/19th most likely. Freeze all cycle from Feb/March so this will be my first transfer so glad to finally get to this stage but also not being too hopeful.

@Agapanthus13 Sorry to hear about your previous FET - wishing you more luck this time around. Do you mind if I ask what you found about the medicated cycle awful? I'm having a medicated cycle but only a few days in yet so I'd like to know how you found it so I know what to expect!

Good luck to everyone with upcoming transfers or already in the 2ww! 😊

Agapanthus13 · 08/07/2022 21:23

Hi @Rosemary121 ahh that’s exciting you’ll be doing your first transfer! You’ll be on similar date to me. I had my baseline scan today so mine should (fingers crossed) be in two week. I also did a freeze all followed by a mediated FET for my first one, I’ve read so much about how a FET is best as it allows your body to recover and reset. Don’t worry, I know others who have had a mediated cycle and been absolutely fine. With mine, we were working to the deadline of Xmas closure and my lining was being slow at thickening up so they upped my meds- I ended up with pills, patches, jambs and pessaries which was a bit intense. I just found I had daily headaches and slept a lot (2 or 3 naps plus afternoons in bed), I’ve since changed clinics and was discussing today doing endometrial testing which requires you to do a medicated cycle to imitate a FET (but instead of putting an embryo in they take a sample of your lining to test- I think!) and I raised my concerns about my previous medicated and the dr reckoned they could give different meds / reduced meds and it wouldn’t be so bad, so I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine xxx ps also make sure you drink lots of water, my clinic recommend 2L a day to flush out any toxins from the meds x

Nancy155 · 09/07/2022 15:15

Can I join?
I had my first natural FET on Friday. Feel fine today just abit crampy and quite sick which is wierd. I have a testing day of Tuesday 19th but I know there is no chance I will be able to wait that long.

good luck everyone x

Rosemary121 · 10/07/2022 08:24

@Agapanthus13 Thank you so much for the info and reassurance! Sorry to hear you had such a stressful time before, especially with the Xmas deadline, your new clinic seem more understanding and willing to try different options which is good to hear at least. Thanks for the tip about drinking more water, I've been getting headaches so I'll try drinking more and seeing if that helps. Did you have many frozen embryos from your freeze all cycle? x

@Nancy155 Welcome! Congrats on the transfer, do you have anything nice planned between now and testing day to keep you busy? I'm planning on having things to do to keep my mind occupied! Good luck to you 😊 x

Rtmhwales · 10/07/2022 21:40

@ParkerH1 How did it go for you? Fingers crossed all was well at testing!

OP posts:
Rtmhwales · 10/07/2022 21:44

For all of those who got transfer dates - were they tentative? I started my period last Tuesday so started on Estrace/estrogen 1x a day until today, now up to twice a day, and then in a few days up to three times a day. I have my first ultrasound Monday 18 July I assume to check the lining. I'm wondering how likely it is to be thick enough by then (or what the optimal thickness is), and hoping they'll start progesterone then and do the transfer the following week.

It's all so slow, such a waiting game!

OP posts:
ParkerH1 · 11/07/2022 06:21

@Rtmhwales I'm alright I'm still on waiting I dont find out till this Friday. I've been alright the only obvious difference is I feel nauseous it comes and goes and has done since about 2/3days after transfer. Still few days to wait..
I was told lining had to be over 7mm.
How you feeling?

ParkerH1 · 11/07/2022 06:24

Hows everyone feeling ?
I'm still in waiting time till Friday and I've decided I'm going to wait for blood test to confirm. Works keeping me busy

Rtmhwales · 11/07/2022 20:25

@ParkerH1 my bad, I totally read that as this Friday past! Is the waiting horrendous? I'm not sure if I'll be totally calm (like I was during the embryo development stage where my clinic doesn't call with a single update until day 7!) or a wreck.

Over here I'm fine. Just taking the oral meds and waiting for the ultrasound a week from today. I have family visiting later this week which will take my mind off the wait at least. I'm also having an occasional cocktail now in the hopes I won't be able to have one next month Grin

How's everybody else doing in their journey?

OP posts:
Rtmhwales · 11/07/2022 20:26

@florafoxtrot How did your transfer go??

OP posts:
florafoxtrot · 11/07/2022 20:54

Transfer went well thanks for asking lovely. My lining was 8.6mm and they said the blast looked good, it was an early one though. I’ve got lubion injections and pessaries so just need to remember the pessaries! Feeling quite calm for now and really really hope I can stay that way. The previous TWWs have been a big part of making me not want to do it all again! Hope the waiting isn’t getting you down and absolutely on the cocktails!

ParkerH1 · 11/07/2022 21:11

Anybody hating the pessaries?
2ww it's not been horrendous but I've had 4 people hand notice in at work so that's given me something to distract me... think now it's getting closer to blood test it's on my mind more and I really really understand wanting to test early bit I'm going to wait..
@Rtmhwales Glad you have family visiting. I cant believe they didn't tell you anything for 7days thats horrendous 😞

Rtmhwales · 11/07/2022 21:12

@florafoxtrot I'm thrilled for you. Must be nice to (hopefully) have the final step done! How bad are the injections? I'm not looking forward to them .. for some reason I thought my trigger was my last injection and that the rest would just be oral and pessaries - they do that in several countries but apparently not where I live. How often are yours? Mine will be every third day in my butt muscle which I'm dreading but someone else I know had it twice a day every day.

The things we put ourselves through!

OP posts:
Rtmhwales · 11/07/2022 21:17

@ParkerH1

I've taken the pessaries before to try and stop miscarriage (I believe they're the same anyway) and they weren't so horrible for me.. just made me a bit teary. Are they awful? What is so awful about them generally - I see people on here saying they're horrible compared to the infections but I can't wrap my head around preferring a needle again after all the stims.

I'm actually glad they didn't tell me any updates between day 0 and day 7 for the embryos because I know a substantial drop off from fertilized to day 3 and then to say 5 is normal but I was feeling super negative after IVF as it hurt more than I anticipated and was more emotional than I expected. So just being able to shut off and binge watch telly which trying to avoid OHSS worked well for me. As it was, so many made it to day 5 and 6 that it didn't matter.

I've been reading that Day 5 emrbyo transfers are more likely to be boys and I think most of the eight they tested were day 5 rather than 6 so I'm giving that some thought. Myself and DP have boys from previous marriages so I feel like we will end up with a houseful of boys at this point.

Rtmhwales · 11/07/2022 21:20

@Agapanthus13 Did you end up going for the endometrial biopsy or whatever it is? They suggested that for me but I couldn't face another painful procedure or a delay in transfer. I know there's a lot to support it though.

Hi I'm hoping to go for FET in August depending on results of PGT test.

Can anyone tell me how long after AF starts the transfer is? I'll be on an immune protocol
