Anybody having FET July or August?

Just waiting for my next cycle to start after a freeze all cycle. It should've been here last week but seems to be delayed so I feel like it's just a ticking clock. This will be my first FET, first ever transfer actually.

Anybody else in the same boat and want to keep me company?

Ah great you have some time off next week, very good idea! @Rosemary121

I have been rather unproductive all day. The tiredness is like I get before my period I must say. No other symptoms.

Is anybody finding the progesterone is causing constipation?

I am with you on the telling family front, changing my mind a few times though sometimes

Roobles79 · 22/07/2022 15:30

How is everyone else getting on?

Saltisford · 22/07/2022 17:32

Finally got a buserelin alternative - Prostap, so can take that tomorrow and carry on this cycle!

thislittlebird · 22/07/2022 17:44

@Roobles79 28th July. Dreading it already, thinking of taking thur/fri off.

Agapanthus13 · 22/07/2022 19:11

@Rosemary121 @Roobles79 how you both doing? I’ve felt pretty good today actually, had a burst of energy and was up and out with my pup by 7.30am. I’m usually 3naps a day whilst on meds so I shocked myself 🤣 I’m on cyclogest pessaries twice a day and daily clexane which are blood thinners for recurrent ivf implantation failure. @ChristmasJumpers realised I didn’t respond to you- they’re not the nicest jabs, but I’m managing them!

@Rosemary121 we’ve told very few people - 3friend couple but more as they could tell something was up as we were less social and they asked out of worry. But they know we don’t want to talk, one we literally told once and said we don’t want to talk about it and kindly they’ve never ask again (even though I can tell they want to). In terms of family I asked my sister where she had Ivf treatment so she knows but again, we’ve never spoken about it. I just don’t think I could deal with a question out of the blue, or that feeling of pressure?
Hope you’ve both managed to take it easy today and have a chilled weekend planned? A few days away sounds perfect!! Xx

Agapanthus13 · 22/07/2022 19:15

@Roobles79 re the pessaries I don’t get constipated but on my nurses notes it does mention it’s no uncommon with the cyclogest, and suggestes Lactulose of Fybogel - but please don’t take my word for it and check with your clinic before taking anything xx

Roobles79 · 22/07/2022 22:00

@thisthislittlebird sending you the best of luck and will be thinking of you. Why not book those days off, whatever the outcome, that's a long weekend. It's difficult working out when work is a good distraction or whether it's better to take the time off. All I know is I have been sooo unproductive past few days and haven't managed barely any work but if you welcome the distraction then it's a good thing. Keeping my fingers crossed for you for the 28th.

Roobles79 · 22/07/2022 22:07

@Agapanthus13 ah thank you, yes bit weird I may use the front door, neither option is ideal is it 🙄.

How are you finding the blood thinning injections?

Yes, completely with you about telling people. I don't want the added pressure at the moment. I feel like my mum sort of knows I'm not telling her something though. She knows we were due to start it again so she's probably guessed. And my belly is swollen from the meds so will have to wear something baggy.

Good for you getting up bright and early, the weather was lovely today. I always feel better after a walk. And good for the circulation to get the blood flowing to the womb I expect! ☺️

The progesterone is making me feel quite moody, my husband is driving me mad, has done for weeks 😬 anyone else? It's probably, the meds, but sometimes he is being an arse too 😅

Roobles79 · 22/07/2022 22:10

@Rosemary121 how are you feeling? Do you have any nice plans for the two weeks off?

Roobles79 · 22/07/2022 22:12

@Saltisford yay! That's brilliant you can continue on with this cycle. What sort of time frame have they given you for transfer?

Saltisford · 23/07/2022 07:18

@Roobles79 thank you! I’m not sure. The nurse said something about perhaps delaying slightly as I’m injecting Prostan today and have already had six days of buserelin

re. Telling people, it’s a tricky one isn’t it. I’ve started telling those that I think are supportive as I figured I’ll need lots of support once I know the outcome. Personally though have regretted telling some people in the past that showed little interest or care

Rosemary121 · 23/07/2022 07:35

@Roobles79 les I’m feeling OK, very tired but keep waking up at silly o clock in the morning (we do have a cockrell so that doesn’t help!) Yes, the time off wasn’t planned to fall this way, things just worked out! We’re away for a couple of days that fall around our OTD and my birthday so hopefully that’ll be a nice few days away. Not many other plans really so I’ll have to think of things to keep me busy! How are you doing? Any nice plans for the weekend?

@Saltisford Ah great news that you’ve managed to get that sorted, med shortages are just an extra stress that’s not needed! Is this your first cycle? How are you feeling?

@Agapanthus13 I’m doing ok so far, trying to stay as positive as possible! Woke up feeling a bit sick this morning. That’s good that you managed to get out for a walk, I also went out in the evening with the dog while my OH went for a run! I totally get what you mean about the pressure or questions. My mum knows because we were staying with her a while while I was taking stimms earlier in the year and had to keep them in the fridge so that was a bit of a give away! I think everyone who does know, knows that I want to talk about it on my own terms but they are supportive If I need them. I have my nieces birthday party today so not as chilled as I would have liked but the weathers rubbish here today anyway! Do you have any nice plans?

@thislittlebird not too much longer to wait now. Are you work quite accommodating with taking time off? I’m very lucky to wfh most of the time so as long as I get my work done, its not really an issue when I do it. Might be good to take some time off if you can and you think it’ll help?

Saltisford · 23/07/2022 07:58

@Rosemary121 yep just want it to all run smoothly. This is my first go at a FET as luckily we had successful ICSI in 2019 which resulted in our son. We have two frozen embryos from that batch. How about you?

Roobles79 · 23/07/2022 14:02

I have just told my parents and feel a little bit relieved. @Saltisford similar to me had icsi 2019 and very luck t to have a daughter who is nearly two, the fet I've just had is our last embryo.

I am feeling quite crampy today, the progesterone seems to make the cramps come on.

Hope everyone has a restful weekend x

thislittlebird · 23/07/2022 14:19

@Roobles79 I've been so unproductive too. Brain is barely functioning :/
I think I'll take two days off so I don't feel pressured to keep it together. Work are relaxed, my boss is on leave, I told her I might need days off and she said just take it whenever and submit the request. I'm working from home mostly too.

Feeling even more like it hasn't worked today. I'd like to be surprised but I can't see it working.

Roobles79 · 23/07/2022 16:15

@thislittlebird hang on in there x

thislittlebird · 23/07/2022 19:08

@Roobles79 I was thinking about last time, it seems I got a migraine at 10dp5dt and tested that day because I know that means AF is due. So my aim is to at least make it beyond Wednesday without a period/migraine!

Jazper · 23/07/2022 19:17

Hi all,

Would love to join in with the chat and moral support. I had my 2nd FET after my first one failed in April. OTD is tomorrow although I can't phone them until Monday anyway so I might leave it until then 🫣 I've done a couple of cheeky early ones and, although there was two lines, the next test is never any less nerve wracking, especially after having suffered a CP on my first transfer and a MMC (naturally conceived) before that 😣

Hello again @thislittlebird , I see we are twinning in the FET stakes again! Wishing you ALL THE LUCK with this cycle 🌈

thislittlebird · 23/07/2022 19:44

Hi @Jazper I thinking of you a few weeks ago and wondered how it went! We are in sync yet again, although your outcome sounds really good so far!

I skipped an extra month because we went on holiday, otherwise I would have been transferring last month. My last one just straight up failed, expecting the same again, that second line never seems to come to fruition 😬

Saltisford · 23/07/2022 20:01

@Roobles79 that is interesting! My ICSI was in Jan 2019. All this fertility business is slowly coming back to me 🤦🏼‍♀️

Jazper · 23/07/2022 20:01

@thislittlebird I have thought of you too! I took a couple of months off here as the failed FET hit me hard. I went in to it quite naive and just assumed that, as our issues are male factor related that it would just definitely work! I went in to this round far more cautiously however, and am so far from feeling excited with my test results.
Ooh a holiday between transfers sounds like it was just what the doctor ordered. I bet that was a lovely 'interlude'.
I have my fingers tightly crossed for your test date. Did they change your protocol this time as a result of your failed round in April? They've put me on lubion in conjunction with the pessaries this time. Hoping that was the magic ingredient I needed.
I am dreading seeing that second line fade away again 🫣

thislittlebird · 24/07/2022 11:04

@Jazper yeah, it’s really tough having a failed cycle, I struggled with it and will again I’m sure if this is negative too. Fingers crossed your lines will remain!

The holiday was lovely, we went to Cyprus and the weather was ideal. Booked a small private villa and just chilled out a lot with a pool.

No change of protocol here, natural modified again. I’m trying to avoid the medicated cycle meds because I get hormonal migraines but if this one doesn’t work they might suggest I do medicated. I was supposed to have a progesterone test, was worried my symptoms (boobs really) were going away and that meant the Cyclogest wasn’t working. But I haven’t had a test because the Guys and St Thomas’s network went down and now it just feels like 🤷‍♀️. It is what it is now, only a few days to go.

ParkerH1 · 24/07/2022 20:27

@Rtmhwales how do you feel after your transfer today?

Rtmhwales · 25/07/2022 02:02

@ParkerH1 it's tomorrow, but thanks for thinking of me! Mostly excited, a bit apprehensive about the procedure since I hate gynae procedures not after the horror that was my HSG test. My clinic (we are abroad) let me know last minute that actually partners can't come in for the procedure despite a nurse telling us it's the only procedure he can come in for last week, so that's frustrating. Less than 24 hours and frozen baby #1 will be in!

I keep reminding myself it's basically 50/50 if it works and that I'll still have 20 frozen embryos left (2 were discarded so far) which is amazing and so many chances left - I couldn't stomach another round of IVF, I don't know how people do two or more, I feel like a wimp but it completely shattered me physically - but the cost each time is so prohibitive. I really wish they'd offer free IVF through health care if it was proven you were infertile.

Supposedly it's all worth it once the baby is in your arms though!

How are you doing? What's your next step?

@Rtmhwales I'm thinking of you today. You will be fine yeah I wasn't allowed anyone with me either. In and out within 10mins and that includes getting changed lol.

I'm alright I've had a couple of scares but I'm back at clinic again for another blood test. I've been going every other day to makesure all ok so see what is said today.

What time your appointment?
