Anybody having FET July or August?

Just waiting for my next cycle to start after a freeze all cycle. It should've been here last week but seems to be delayed so I feel like it's just a ticking clock. This will be my first FET, first ever transfer actually.

Anybody else in the same boat and want to keep me company?

@thislittlebird absolutely, I agree.

Rtmhwales · 26/07/2022 19:08

@thislittlebird So sorry to catch up reading all that. I feel angry on your behalf. Do you think it's your clinic or is this just the procedure?

@florafoxtrot Any further updates? This whole thing is so hard!

@ParkerH1 and the rest - transfer went so well! In and out in 5-10 minutes really. I was actually surprised there was no pain since I'm routinely told it's painless or uncomfortable for all my procedures and then want to die from how painful they are. This was the best of the lot. Little frozen embryo #1 is in, an average 5BB. Every single embryo I got was BB out of 23 of them which is mind boggling. Either a 5BB or a 6BB.

I've had an endless headache since a few hours after the transfer but I think that's just the progesterone. Took a Covid test and thankfully that was negative.

I'm of two minds with this process constantly - the first is like oh I'll be due in April how nice, and then a few min later it's like oh wait my friend's wedding will be on my next transfer cycle date next month. So one moment I just assume it'll work and the next assume it'll fail, with very little emotion in between. It's a wild ride. So many on here are seeing positives though which gives me hope!

I’m going to test again tomorrow but I’ve got zero expectations, once I’ve done that I’ll phone the clinic and hopefully get the ball moving on a review and then I think we will hopefully transfer our final frostie from this batch asap. If needed (likely) then I’d be keen to try to do another stims cycle before the end of the year. Know I sound extremely negative but when it seems to work for everyone else but that’s another failure for me then I think something just isn’t quite right yet clinic don’t seem that arsed to try anything new!

WildSheep · 26/07/2022 19:53

@Roobles79 I don't think you can have too much progesterone so I think you're good. Better too much than too little.

I'm 7dp5dt today and did another test this afternoon. Positive although no progression from yesterday. I think I need to step away from the tests for a couple of days but I doubt I'll be able to. OTD is this Saturday.

@thislittlebird I'm sorry to read your updates. Incidentally, I'm also with Guys so I understand some of what you've said here. Hopefully you have an in-depth follow up consultation. x

Roobles79 · 26/07/2022 21:30

@wildsheep thank you, that's reassuring. Congratulations on the positive test! That's great news☺️

@thislittlebird hope you are okay and not suffering with any horrible headaches/migraines (I think you said you get these with af)

Jazper · 27/07/2022 01:41

@Roobles79 Like @WildSheep said, you can't have too much progesterone. This is what my consultant told me at my follow up after my first transfer failed. Which, begs the question, why don't they just put us on a higher dose to begin with?

@thislittlebird I am so sorry to see AF is making an appearance and that (it looks as though) your clinic royally buggered up your progesterone levels. Being told to carry on the meds is torturous and I refused to do so on my last FET which I knew was failing.

Roobles79 · 27/07/2022 09:18

Thank you @jazper and @wildsheep

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread, I have been lurking in the background a little. About to have my 4th transfer after 3 egg collections, 2 failed fresh transfer and 1 failed frozen transfer of a euploid embryo. Date for transfer is 4th august with another euploid embryo (not as good as the first one), OTD on 15th august, my 40th birthday! 🤦🏾‍♀️ not sure how I feel about that!

Currently on 5 oestrogen tablets a day, will start lubion and cyclogest this Friday then add on clexane from transfer day!

Will catch up on where everyone is up to over the course of today but for those of you in the 2WW, I wish you the best of luck and sending you lots of baby dust! 🥰

Roobles79 · 27/07/2022 09:33

@coops0406 welcome! Wishing you the very best of luck with this next go! I am not far behind you on the big 4-0!☺️ I am in my tww meant to be working but concentration levels are a big fat zero! How are you finding the meds? And sorry but what is a euploid? X

Roobles79 · 27/07/2022 10:52

Anyone else feeling really drained today? Ugh, feel so tired, bloated and a bit fainty. I definitely should have taken this week off, in hindsight. My stomach is looking about 3/4 months pregnant, so I'm wearing big floaty dresses 🙃 horrible symptom isn't it. How is everyone doing?

WildSheep · 27/07/2022 11:23

@Coops0406 Welcome, best of luck with this. Keep us updated!

@Roobles79 My concentration levels (for work at least) are non-existent too. Also tired and bloated like you. I felt like a had a bit of motion sickness whilst brushing my teeth the other day, had to steady myself on the sink. Very odd! It passed quickly though.

My anxiety is also through the roof. I know it's because I've been testing everyday but I also think I'd be the same if I hadn't. Its our last shot - no more embryos and no more rounds left, so nothing to cling onto in the back of my mind if that makes sense.

Roobles79 · 27/07/2022 15:21

@wildsheep makes total sense. I am keeping everything crossed for you. The motion sickness is a good sign I think. How many days until your OTD?

Roobles79 · 27/07/2022 15:24

@wildsheep glad I'm not the only one feeling unproductive at work. My head is in the shed!

Rtmhwales · 27/07/2022 16:32

@Roobles79 euploid means the embryo was genetically tested prior to implant and it came back as completely normal.

There's aneuploid (abnormal, often discarded), euploid (normal, 46 chromosomes), and mosaic (some cells are normal, some cells abnormal in the test, they may or may not agree to transfer these ones if you have no euploid or none left after transfers. Some turn into healthy babies, some don't).

I had 8 of mine tested to the tune of £385 per embryo. Insanity. But given my history of recurrent miscarried versus not being able to get pregnant (I get pregnant fairly easily but lose them at 7 weeks) it was worth it for the peace of mind.

Coops0406 · 27/07/2022 16:36

@Roobles79 thank you! When is your OTD?
Although I'm not yet in the 2WW, oestrogen absolutely wiped me out. With 24 hours of starting it I am having afternoon naps, struggling to concentrate and more recently ridiculously clumsy!
A euploid is an embryo that has been tested and is genetically good...we had ours tested because of my age and having a few embryos.

@WildSheep good news on your positive test...really hoping it sticks for you. Completely understandable being anxious, the whole IVF journey is one anxious moment after another!

@thislittlebird so sorry to hear what you've been going through. I've been in a similar position and it's rubbish. AF appeared for me on previous transfers around 7-8dp5dt...on my last transfer though they tested my progesterone the day before transfer and it was far too low with just the cyclogest so they made me take a lubion injection that day and continue with it on top of the cyclogest. Within 4 days it had gone stupidly high...but they seem to be okay with that, they just don't want it low. I will be on lubion again with 2 x cyclogest from Friday and they are going to check my progesterone levels on Monday. I would ask them next time to check your levels on cyclogest maybe 2-3 days before transfer then if low to give you the lubion!

@Rtmhwales isn't it bad how we go from thinking if possible due dates to in the next thought reminding ourselves not to be stupid and think about what we need to do in the next cycle! It's torture! I saw a post on Instagram about thoughts people who have had ivf go through when they're pregnant compared with people who have got pregnant naturally and it spoke volumes to me...that ivf is just full of continuous worry!

Rtmhwales · 27/07/2022 16:36

When is everyone's test day? It's hard to keep track. Mine is 5 August but I doubt I'll make it anywhere close to that. In my prior pregnancies I've had a noticeable positive by 8 or 9 DPO and generally my HCG levels go through the roof quickly so I'll probably test early just to have an idea (and then panic about a chemical). I feel super calm right now mainly because there's no possibility of knowing right now, but ugh this is an exhausting roller coaster!

The progesterone is giving me near endless headaches. Did anyone else have that?

OP posts:
Rtmhwales · 27/07/2022 16:39

@Coops0406 When you say this embryo wasn't good as the previous euploid embryo you had, do you know their grading? Is this the last embryo or anymore on ice?

I can't wrap my head around 3 egg collections. You're incredibly brave and strong. I've done one and I will never do it again. I couldn't get over how brutal it was for me.

OP posts:
Coops0406 · 27/07/2022 16:58

@Rtmhwales they said they were all very good quality before they were sent off for testing but then they get another grading through care from 1-10, 10 being the best. My last one was a 6 and this one is a 2. So we are realistic that it may not work again.
We had one nhs cycle which was a complete and utter fail then we paid for a multi cycle so have another cycle to go. We also paid for a separate cycle to try and get something for the future as I'm nearly 40, so rather than wait until I'm older and even less chance we fast forwarded it and have 1 euploid on ice so that's good. Very confusing!
So sorry your egg collection was traumatic! Thankfully mine were okay, just a bit crampy and sore afterwards but had the best sleep with the sedation!!

Rtmhwales · 27/07/2022 18:39

@Coops0406 oh that's interesting. I didn't get a further report on my tested embryos past euploid, aneuploid and mosaic. And all of mine are BB which I think they said is average. That being said I have 20 still frozen at this point.

Egg collection was awful but mostly I found the stims and the side effects awful. I ended up carrying 45 eggs and god knows how many follicles as I over responded and I found most injections really painful. Plus the cost here (I'm abroad) is astronomical, even with all the drugs covered. I can't imagine having the funds to do it 3x.

Fingers crossed these little ones work for us.

OP posts:
Coops0406 · 27/07/2022 18:46

@Rtmhwales wow! You have 20 euploids frozen?! Do you have pcos? Such a high number of eggs, no wonder it was horrific! Never heard of anyone with that many frozen! Did you have all of your embryos tested then??

thislittlebird · 27/07/2022 19:00

@Roobles79 thanks, I have had a migraine trying to start today but I took some migraleve which seems to be fending it off for now. I’ve gone down a rabbit hole today, of what tests I might need if I keep having failed cycles, or maybe it’s just my age, it’s all very overwhelming. Mumsnet kind of skews everything, there’s lots of first and second time success on here, but I need to try to remember it can take a lot of attempts. I think my neighbour’s relative needed six transfers.

@Coops0406 it’s so horribly frustrating and upsetting. Every other time I’ve been on progesterone it’s held my period off, but not this time 😞. I keep wondering if anything implanted and feel like I need to test earlier in future, but I really hate testing. I read you’re about to go for another transfer, good luck! I hope the progesterone works for you. I’m going to talk to my consultant about Lubion, I’m very annoyed they kept telling me it “wasn’t routine” when I’d told them I have low progesterone.

thislittlebird · 27/07/2022 19:01

I didn’t feel I had enough to test with only four embryos, so maybe I’ve just got aneuploid. I’m going to transfer two next time, and get some more tests done while I wait.

thislittlebird · 27/07/2022 19:05

@Jazper i was supposed to use three today but I haven’t, I’ve done one so far. I know I’m not pregnant, and it feels horrible having to hold of my period.

@WildSheep I’m definitely going to be complaining to the consultant about the lack of willingness to do progesterone tests on me.

Coops0406 · 27/07/2022 19:39

@thislittlebird I would just push for lubion. It never was routine to check progesterone, mine was only checked on my last transfer as they said there is more and more research out that suggests the progesterone level is important and needs to be a minimum of 30 (I don't know the units). And because AF came early on the one before they tested before transfer rather than on the day of transfer. I hope you are okay and when you get your review I hope they listen to your concerns and come up with appropriate action.
I also had the Alice/Emma/era tests - again all came back fine but I just needed peace of mind that we'd tried everything so that may be worth looking into as well

Roobles79 · 27/07/2022 20:01

@rtmhwales sorry to hear about the headaches, I've had those on off a bit but find they ease off a bit if I drink lots of water. My OTD is 4th August so a day before you. I am sorry to hear about your egg collections, that sounds awful, you are a superwoman for going through all that.
