Medicated FET what day was your transfer?

Hi everyone,

Embarking on another round of IVF and I’m having a FET next Tuesday. I went for a lining scan on CD8 and it was 6.1mm so returned yesterday CD11 and lining was above 7mm. I’m to start the dreaded progesterone pessaries on Thursday CD14 this week and my transfer is now booked for next Tuesday CD19.

Is this very late for a transfer? I’m getting myself all worried that it’s late and it’s going to impact the result of this cycle but being medicated does it not make a difference? Can anyone put my mind at ease?!

Many thanks!

Sorry that you're having to take the more long winded, difficult route of ivf this time round.

I'm doing ok. Calmed down with the testing and constant focus on the embryo. OTD is on Wednesday. In two minds whether to be upfront that I started medication on 4dp5dt. I don't regret it, just wondering if it is relevant.

We've also been talking about booking a holiday but hard to be decisive as everything is up in the air at the moment. If things don't go well, I'd definitely still want to go. If things do go well, what if I'm not in a fit state to travel? Also, whatever we choose would have to be pregnancy friendly. So many factors!

How are things with you? Any new symptoms?

Hopefull1981 · 11/07/2022 18:19

@EasterBunny7 cramping a lot today, it has me a little worried but sure nothing I can do. Tested this morning and have a line the same as control line. I think it won’t matter re the blood thinner, I see many are on it from the day of transfer which I was supposed to be. Hoping it’s helping us both.

A nice holiday would be good for ye. We are heading the last week in September and then November. We went to Orlando on a surprise 40th for my friend when I was 3 months pregnant. It was fine except I wasn’t allowed go on the rides at Disney world. I think the compression socks are a must. I also got so much baby stuff 😵‍💫 I also had a relatively straight forward pregnancy except for the woeful heart burn from week 16 onwards, that I am not looking forward to. My little girl had so much hair when born.

my neighbour must think I am a loon, I ordered tested from the pharmacy as they were on special offer it arrived today with package ripped. We weren’t here so he took it in. There are 6 x boxes in there 😂😂😂

EasterBunny7 · 11/07/2022 18:29

@Hopefull1981 LOL at your neighbour receiving your pregnancy tests. He just made it into the inner circle!

Orlando sounds grand! That must've been a long haul flight. I can only bring myself to think of 3-4 hours on a plane. I think I will hold off on booking anything until the viability scan just so I am more certain about what's going on with me.

Your cramping could be ligament pain that some of us are experiencing? Just your uterus stretching...

I didn't know people are using blood thinners since embryo transfer, which now makes me think I lost 4 days 😅

Hopefull1981 · 11/07/2022 18:45

@EasterBunny7 poor neighbour, but I couldn’t miss a bargain. See attached, sometimes it can be given from day 1 of stims

All this talk of holiday makes me want to go away! I've actually just cancelled my flights and holiday that was booked tomorrow, I was planning to go visit my parents (who live in a different country in a big city) but I've decided that because of the amount of Covid hanging around at the moment and because of the crazy European heat wave fast approaching, I don't want to risk it. I can't face getting public transport when it's so hot and I want to reduce my risk of catching Covid as much as possible. I've already worked so hard for this pregnancy i don't want to risk anything. Maybe I'm being over cautious but i did some googling and they do say there is a slightly higher risk of miscarriage if you get Covid in the first trimester xox

EasterBunny7 · 12/07/2022 08:52

@flowersinmay sounds reasonable. I see that they want to increase COVID restrictions again so that's got me thinking: not just about the holiday but day to day living. I hadn't heard that COVID is a higher risk to first trimester: but what isn't?! That makes sense and I'm now thinking about whether I should cut down on social interactions?

flowersinmay · 12/07/2022 09:07

@EasterBunny7 here is one of the articles I found:

www.ucl.ac.uk/news/2022/jun/catching-covid-19-early-pregnancy-could-increase-risk-miscarriage

I don't know, I guess it's hard to say really what to do and what not to do, but I just want to try and be as low risk as possible. I've also cancelled some meet ups with friends recently - thank goodness I did so as they've all had the norovirus so feel like that's also doing the rounds at the moment! Xox

Gracie2021 · 12/07/2022 18:12

Just catching up. So great that lines are getting stronger and all looks good @Hopefull1981 @flowersinmay. Seems to have been some really good luck on this thread. Hope you're all doing well.

Just waiting on CD1 here so we can kick off and try this thing again.

EasterBunny7 · 12/07/2022 18:28

@Gracie2021 good luck! I hope AF arrives soon for you.

flowersinmay · 12/07/2022 19:36

@Gracie2021 very best of luck to you! Keep us updated 🤞 xox

Hopefull1981 · 13/07/2022 08:44

@Gracie2021 Good Luck. Fingers crossed for you this cycle. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

I am at the doctors going to get my blood done today, I think I will do it Friday too or should I was until Monday? Results won’t’ the back until Friday for the first anything.

How is everyone?

EasterBunny7 · 13/07/2022 10:06

I'm panicking a bit this morning. Woke up to find some fresh blood (spotting). I am 12dp5dt. Does this mean it's over?

Hopefull1981 · 13/07/2022 11:15

@EasterBunny7 Oh no, you must be so worried. Is it much blood or a small but. I hear this can happen alot. How are your tests looking? Have you had your beta bloods? I follow this irish girl on Instagram, and she had had bleeding every few days since she was 4 weeks, and she is now 12.
Do you have an EPU near you?

flowersinmay · 13/07/2022 12:43

@EasterBunny7 oh no you must be worried, sorry to hear that. I also hear it's quite common, try not to panic. Hope you can see a doctor / nurse to put your mind at rest, fingers crossed for you! 🤞 xox

EasterBunny7 · 13/07/2022 17:29

Sorry, I've been AWOL. I spent all morning waiting for a response from my clinic and the afternoon catching up on time wasted worrying.

Luckily, the spotting did not reappear since I saw it this morning. The clinic increased my progesterone dosage and just told me to update them on the spotting and retest in a couple of days.

This is really concerning for me because two other times I've been pregnant, I had spotting which led to miscarriage. I just don't feel like I'll be one of the lucky ones who has spotting but everything turns out ok. Sorry to be a downer.

Hope everyone is getting on well!

flowersinmay · 13/07/2022 18:41

@EasterBunny7 awww sending you big virtual hugs, really hoping this time will be ok for you. Hope you have some loved ones around to support you 💜💜

Hopefull1981 · 14/07/2022 21:06

How’s everyone doing? @EasterBunny7 hope you are feeling better.

I got my beta back today and it’s 70, I feel that’s very low. I have another tomorrow but I am expecting the worst. My tests today not seem to have further progression and digital is still 1-2 weeks. I just have a bad feeling. I really hope I am wrong and it’s the worry wart In me..

EasterBunny7 · 14/07/2022 22:21

@Hopefull1981 oh no, I really hope it's not bad news for you! It would be even more terrible if both of us have to jump ship. I had gotten such a positive vibe in this group. I don't know much about beta results but I do recall that it can vary massively, woman to woman. How many dp5dt are you? Sorry I lose track.

As for myself, second day of spotting, this time old, brown blood and its been like that all day and night. I thought I was dealing with it ok, but on reflection I've been agitated and unfocused all day.

Hopefull1981 · 15/07/2022 08:48

@EasterBunny7 thanks for the message. I was 9dp5dt on Wednesday. I have the second blood test at 11, thank fully with same day results.

brown blood isn’t too bad I think. Do you have a blood test soon?

flowersinmay · 15/07/2022 09:21

@Hopefull1981 keep us updated, really hope you get positive news today 🤞

@EasterBunny7 agree with @Hopefull1981 I don't think brown blood is bad? Really hope you can get some answers soon.

Sending love to you both! ♥️♥️♥️

No updates from me, I did another test yesterday and still positive thank goodness. I don't have any bloods or anything scheduled. First scan is booked for 27th July. I still have no symptoms, I'm technically 5 weeks pregnant today. I'm just hoping that time flies quickly and everything remains positive 🤞

Gracie2021 · 15/07/2022 09:34

@EasterBunny7 so sorry you're having this worry but have heard of so many people with spotting and bleeding especially after IVF and having successful pregnancies. Brown old blood probably a good sign that fresh new too 🤞 Keeping everything crossed for you.

@Hopefull1981 still really good solid lines there. Hope you can get the second beta and some reassurance. You'll find out this afternoon?

@flowersinmay I'd say that wait feels so long but glad things are going smoothly.

Think I might be CD1 here today. The relief to finally be able to start again. Second app with the doctor Monday too to discuss our complaint since she wasn't even aware of it for the last call. Being scheduled in for earlier scans this time since we had a lead follicle last time. Just hoping for the best now.

EasterBunny7 · 15/07/2022 09:47

@Gracie2021 I'm glad to hear that you get to start again so soon. I hope they don't make any silly mistakes this time round and mess you around.

My update: still a strong positive pregnancy test this morning but still spotting. Seeing fresh blood mixed in with old blood. It's so hard not to be anxious. I've also noticed that the little symptoms that I did have: ligament pain has disappeared the last few days.

Hopefull1981 · 15/07/2022 10:10

Thanks for the messages everyone. I took today off to prepare myself. I am actually having the blood test at home but I just have that feeling I can’t shake… Line progression should be better. For me this morning seems lighter than yesterday and that was in afternoon. I am 11dp5dt I would expect it to start progressing.

@Gracie2021 good luck in this cycle. I hope you get a good response to the complaint.

@EasterBunny7 god I hate being stuck in limbo. Is there anywhere near you that you could get a blood test? I have everything crossed for you that it will work out.

@flowersinmay delighted everything is progressing well. I really which I could step away from the tests as I definitely feel they are providing the anxiety.

EasterBunny7 · 15/07/2022 13:23

@Hopefull1981 we are here for you whatever the results. How do you do blood tests at home? Thanks for the suggestion of finding somewhere to do my beta bloods: I could go to the EGU but I have realised from all my trips with early miscarriages, no amount of visits for scans or beta bloods will stop it in its tracks. I have resigned myself to seeing how the bleeding develops. So, just sitting here twiddling my thumbs.
