Medicated FET what day was your transfer?

Hi everyone,

Embarking on another round of IVF and I’m having a FET next Tuesday. I went for a lining scan on CD8 and it was 6.1mm so returned yesterday CD11 and lining was above 7mm. I’m to start the dreaded progesterone pessaries on Thursday CD14 this week and my transfer is now booked for next Tuesday CD19.

Is this very late for a transfer? I’m getting myself all worried that it’s late and it’s going to impact the result of this cycle but being medicated does it not make a difference? Can anyone put my mind at ease?!

Many thanks!

@Hopefull1981 omg what a day you've had- I'm so sorry ☹️ that's so stressful having to wait that long only then to be told you need to wait another week, such an ordeal, no wonder you're done with it all. Really hope the time goes quickly and you finally get some answers. Sending love xox

Gracie2021 · 05/08/2022 10:25

@Hopefull1981 I'm so sorry. What a day and then to be hit with that. I'm so so sorry lovely. How are you doing today? Hate that you're stuck in limbo until next week again now. It just sucks.

Gracie2021 · 05/08/2022 10:26

All quiet here. Blank tests for 4dp5dt so just keep telling myself that's what happens when you test early and my lines will come....

EasterBunny7 · 05/08/2022 10:48

@Gracie2021 don't give up just yet, could be a late implantation. My internet cheapies were terrible at showing anything at this stage. I used a clearblue.

Gracie2021 · 05/08/2022 11:01

I actually used a cheapie and a FRER this morning but won't start panicing for another few days yet. Have cramps back again today which strangely is making me feel better even though I know it can mean nothing.

flowersinmay · 05/08/2022 12:17

Agree! Definitely don't give up yet @Gracie2021 it's so early! I didn't get a positive until 7dp5dt and even then it was super faint! You've still got lots of time! Xox

Gracie2021 · 06/08/2022 06:22

Guys I think I might have a positive. Kept seeing this smudge on yesterdays tests to the point that I took 3 cheapies.... and this morning.... please tell me you see it? In two years of trying I've never had lines!!!

@Gracie2021 yep that is 100% a line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS! Amazing news so happy for you!!!

Gracie2021 · 06/08/2022 06:59

I thought I'd be jumping round with joy and crying etc but I suppose then downside of testing early is I'm trying to tell myself it's early days and anything could happen. Just lying here in bed looking at pics of the tests over and over 🙈🙈 I can't believe it!

flowersinmay · 06/08/2022 07:51

@Gracie2021 that's funny because I had the same thoughts as you - when I saw my test I thought I would be super overjoyed but actually I don't think I could quite believe it and there is still such a long journey ahead it just didn't quite seem real. Hopefully your first scan will make it more real - it did for me! Xox

Gracie2021 · 06/08/2022 08:17

Fingers crossed @flowersinmay tbh it's a long wait til my first Beta on 16th as it is, let alone a scan.... for today this is the best possible result I could have so going to bask in it. Plus per online miscarriage odds predictor, our odds just went from 57% as per our doctor pre transfer to 71.5%. I'll take that bump!

EasterBunny7 · 06/08/2022 09:20

@Gracie2021 amazing! Congratulations! See each day as an achievement, somewhere you haven't been before.

I wasn't breaking out in tears of joy either, even if people expect us to. It's a very surreal moment, you can't quite believe your eyes and it's not like you wake up and suddenly your body has gone through a drastic visible change to prove that you're pregnant. In fact, even after having seen the bean where I became emotional from the shock and wonder of it, I reverted back to a state of cautious awareness once I left the clinic. There's always that niggle that anything could go wrong at any point. This is not meant to worry you, I'm just expressing that all feelings are valid and natural, even negative ones.

Yesterday night, I tossed and turned dreaming that the embryo wasn't growing well and not measuring right. I was flooded with all these numbers floating around my head - no idea if they were even correct 😅

Gracie2021 · 06/08/2022 09:37

That's it exactly @EasterBunny7 funnily enough heard this in the BFN podcast after they had success and the best way I heard was saying infertility steals the joy of pregnancy from you a bit too as you're so hyper aware of all the could be issues! And just so damn anxious about it all. Still have to wait til 16/8 for my beta so a good way to go yet.

Hopefull1981 · 06/08/2022 16:54

@Gracie2021congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉 so delighted for you. How are you feeling?

flowersinmay · 06/08/2022 18:56

Love the bfn podcast too @Gracie2021 I've found it so helpful through my infertility "journey"😆.

How are all of you doing? This past week has been the toughest for me symptom wise, I've read that it can peak between 8-10. I'm now in week 8! Hoping it doesn't get worse! Luckily I haven't been sick again, but definitely don't feel like myself! Certain smells are making me feel nauseous - and I just don't feel normal. Have been going to bed at 9.30, and still having naps in the day! My stomach is definitely very bloated too! X

Gracie2021 · 06/08/2022 22:24

Definitely the most relatable podcast @flowersinmay and with a nice dose of cynicism and sarcasm that speaks to me!! Sounds like you're really being put through the mill. Hope the early nights are helping. If it gets too bad don't be afraid to ask the doctor about medication. My friend was suffering for weeks and got a "magic pill" from the doctor that changed everything.

Hope you have some distraction this weekend from the waiting @Hopefull1981? And maybe able to squeeze in a treat or two somewhere? Feeling ok thanks, very early days so trying not to get ahead of myself but also googling obstetricians so the usual balance of practical and insane.

Happycroc · 09/08/2022 09:06

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well. Sorry I went MIA, just needed to take a little step back after the disappointment of the failed cycle but I have been quietly lurking in the background and reading all your updates.

@EasterBunny7 i had a SCH with my IVF pregnancy, it didn’t clear until after 20 weeks so there was occasional bleeding up until that point. I don’t know if the EPU advised you but I was told to be on full pelvic rest. No sex, no orgasms.

@Hopefull1981 I’m sorry for your limbo land journey. I really hope you’re doing ok, it must be mentally exhausting.

we’re on holiday at the moment, have been for about 10 days, and I’m due to go to a spa today with my SIL. But I was thinking that AF is/ was due around now so I took an early morning walk to the shop and (see photo attached) I’m so shocked and confused… I did it walking back from the shop whilst swigging a coffee and I didn’t expect to see anything. I’ve been drinking probably every night since we’ve been away, a couple of ciders/ beers followed by a wine or two or gin. I’ve had hot baths. I’ve carried DS up two big hill hikes. I don’t think this can be from the failed cycle, my bHCG was only 4 and this is a coop test with a 20miu sensitivity.

my DH was still asleep when I got back. He’s up now and I showed him and we’re both a bit mind blown…

EasterBunny7 · 09/08/2022 09:51

@Happycrocodile what a surprise! Congratulations!! After everything you've had to go through in this process and then to fall naturally pregnant! It's a miracle. I have to say, what I most surprised by is how you managed to pee on a stick as you were walking outside having a cup of coffee 😃

Happycroc · 09/08/2022 09:57

And hailstorm pushing a pram! Hahaha! No, I took some FMU in a bottle and did a dip test sitting on a bench (so classy)

mice done another at home, it’s lighter, but then this wasn’t a long hold and after drinking water to make me need to wee!

thanks for the congrats @EasterBunny7 I’m not celebrating yet, struggling with the demons that say I’ve already f’d this one up!

What an amazing surprise @Happycroc. I had a wondering peeing in the street image going on too.... sipping in the park in almost as good. Everything crossed for you! Are you going to try get into your GP for a blood test?

Happycroc · 09/08/2022 11:30

not quite! Although dipping my stick in an oasis bottle might have looked odd if I was caught doing it!

I don’t thinks so @Gracie2021 i might buy a couple of digi tests today and just see what those say. Still think that these look quite light but not sure which day AF is due…

flowersinmay · 09/08/2022 12:13

@Happycroc wow!! This is such a lovely surprise when you've been through all the ivf stuff! Congratulations! Keep us updated - a line is a line and it's looking strong for you already! Maybe sometimes our bodies just need a little push into action and ivf helped?! Who knows!

Happycroc · 10/08/2022 08:30

Thanks @flowersinmay did a digital test this morning (do you like the antique fancy wall paper in the holiday house?!)

I have sent a message to my GP today as I have hypothyroidism and when I got pregnant last time I was told to do a TSH test when I got a positive as TSH rises with pregnancy (which it had) and I needed to increase my medication to keep it below 2.4 which is where the IVF clinic would like it to be for a positive outcome. I’ve found (as I’m sure we all have) that things like this need explaining to the GP as it’s all so specialist so I hope they will help.

I also don’t know if I should start progesterone pessaries, I still have a new box of utrogestan at home but I don’t know if I just treat this as a completely natural pregnancy

very confused and anxious but of course hopeful and delighted

now I need to hide not drinking from the family until we go home at the weekend!

That's fantastic @Happycroc great news. Hope you get in with your doc soon. Do you have any idea how many days post ovulation you are? I'd probably chance taking the progesterone as I've heard there's no danger of it being too high.

4 weeks here today per my little app calculator. No beta test yet as that's Monday but lines are looking good so just hoping for the best. Wishing this heatwave away too, not able!!

Hope you're all doing well!

Happycroc · 10/08/2022 11:31

Amazing lines @Gracie2021

not a clue! Wasn’t tracking obviously! My last period started on the 11/7 and from when I used to track ovulation I’d guess I ovulated around day 16. We only dtd on the 25th and 26th and 1st.

gp has already called, she was lovely but said she couldn’t help with the progesterone question, said to ask the ivf clinic, do you think they’d be likely to advise? She has booked me a blood test Monday, I asked if she’d do an HCG one but she said they don’t do those either. either way, we’re away until Saturday so I can’t have a blood test until Monday and the untrogestan is at home. I guess I just need to trust my body for now.
