Medicated FET what day was your transfer?

Hi everyone,

Embarking on another round of IVF and I’m having a FET next Tuesday. I went for a lining scan on CD8 and it was 6.1mm so returned yesterday CD11 and lining was above 7mm. I’m to start the dreaded progesterone pessaries on Thursday CD14 this week and my transfer is now booked for next Tuesday CD19.

Is this very late for a transfer? I’m getting myself all worried that it’s late and it’s going to impact the result of this cycle but being medicated does it not make a difference? Can anyone put my mind at ease?!

Many thanks!

I feel the same as you both @Hopefull1981 @Gracie2021 the waiting is the hardest bit, I would rather know bad news so I can deal with it and move on.

@Gracie2021 glad you got the complaint sorted and fingers crossed for you in this cycle.

@Hopefull1981 what is the difference between the blue dye and pink dye tests, by the way?

Thank you for asking about me, despite all your worries at the moment. Nothing much to report on here. Some pelvic twinges/ tenderness and last couple of nights, despite eating well, I've been getting hungry several hours after dinner and having to eat a second dinner! Now, that happens on rare occasions even when I'm not pregnant so it could just be the heat?

flowersinmay · 18/07/2022 11:45

@Hopefull1981 what a rollercoaster - I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Sending lots of love your way! Hope you get answers very soon.

@EasterBunny7 I totally get you! I'm also thinking about stuff in the future but need to calm down and take it day by day. I think March is a really good month for a birth - to be honest any month which isn't December would be great for me, my birthday is right near Christmas and I speak from experience when I say it really sucks as a child! No one is around to celebrate and you end up getting one present not two!

@Gracie2021 glad you managed to sort it with your doctor, definitely good to keep a closer eye on them this time! What a drama! Hope the scans/medication process goes smoothly!

I have zero symptoms still! I am a bit tired and also quite hungry but putting that down to the heat and the medication. I'm 5 weeks, 3 days... just wishing the time away until my scan and googling the size of the baby at 5 weeks/chance of miscarriage day by day to try and calm myself down.

Sending you all love! Xox

EasterBunny7 · 18/07/2022 12:01

@flowersinmay nice to hear from you! Laughing about the December birthday story. One of my due dates was after xmas and before new year. I remember reading how that's the busiest time for hospitals with all kinds of accidents happening and I remember worrying about how I'd get to the hospital if there was snow and all kinds of things. I don't get beyond 6 weeks pregnancy but I worry too much about the non existent future!

You are two days ahead of me. When is your viability scan? Mine is on the 28th.

flowersinmay · 18/07/2022 12:36

@EasterBunny7 it's very exciting we are so close! I've booked my scan for 27th so a day ahead of yours! Really hope you get further than six weeks this time 🤞. Is it me or is time going by super slowly?! I am just obsessed with googling facts about the growth of the baby but I really need to try and remain detached until the 12 week mark... seems like a lifetime away. Hope you're managing to avoid google better than I am? If I hadn't done ivf I would have no idea I was pregnant, kinda hoping I get a few symptoms so I can start to believe the two lines on my pregnancy tests! Xox

EasterBunny7 · 18/07/2022 12:53

I had forgotten about the miscarriage calculator website until you mentioned it! I think I just resigned myself to being that % that will fail, no matter how low a number. I have been day dreaming (and googling) about other things, which I have been doing for the last many years! I look at prams, cribs, baby clothing, maternity clothing, pregnancy announcement ideas, what it's going to be like being heavily pregnant in the winter versus summer. How being born in March will impact little embryo. So, not obsessive at all😃

flowersinmay · 18/07/2022 19:49

@EasterBunny7 ahh yes sorry for reminding you about the calculator! It's just super addictive - I refresh it everyday as I have nothing else to think about right now! I hope if we are heavily pregnant it might be better in winter - I have a massive winter coat which I bought a few years ago thinking it would come in use once I was pregnant (oh how naive I was to think it would happen that winter 😂) I think if this pregnancy continues I won't buy any baby stuff until around month 6/7.. maybe it's the superstitious person in me, but I don't know if I will believe it's real until the baby is actually in my arms! Morning ladies. So my beta came back, and it's 172, it was 78 on friday. Digital test now reduced from 2-3 weeks to 1-2. 😖I will now need another set of bloods done. God, I really hate limbo land.

EasterBunny7 · 19/07/2022 12:41

@Hopefull1981 what a turn of events! I can appreciate how confusing all of this is, I'm dumbfounded! Did you end up stopping your ivf medication? Why has the digital dropped down a week when your beta bloods have increased? I really hope this is a miracle story. We could all do with some hope.

flowersinmay · 19/07/2022 13:53

@Hopefull1981 urrrr.... that's just so weird - have the clinic said what they think it could be? So sorry you're having to go through this what a nightmare! We definitely need some positive news, really hope you can get answers soon, it's awful being in limbo like this as you say! Xox

Hopefull1981 · 19/07/2022 15:15

@EasterBunny7 @flowersinmay the clinic rang there and said to keep taking the medication. No need for further betas, just monitor tests daily now to see if there is any drop off. Fun times ahead. Also, they are not overly confident there will be progression given the numbers. I had not stopped the meds, but I imagine had I not said there was progression on the pregnancy tests and the risk of ectopic, I would have been told to stop last Saturday. I am a POAS addict now. I did one at 13.30, and it's strong, I would have expected lighter given this morning's digital. What do you guys think?

EasterBunny7 · 19/07/2022 15:22

@Hopefull1981 I think the clinic were a bit rash in stopping your meds. The 14dp5dt is clearly much more stronger than the others. Maybe you just hcg numbers on the lower end. The lower end is there for a reason. At this point, they should scan to check it isn't an ectopic. That's what an EPU would do.

I'm not having a great time myself. I had increased spotting today. Clinic told me to go to EPU, but I'm not having any ectopic symptoms so, if this fails, it just has to happen. I've run around EPU before and it's just stressful, time consuming and inconclusive.

Hopefull1981 · 19/07/2022 15:36

@EasterBunny7 Sorry for burdening you with my woes. I understand what you mean re the EPU. Are you on pessaries? I read they cause alot of spotting in some patients. How are your test lines?

EasterBunny7 · 19/07/2022 15:44

@Hopefull1981 not at all, we are here to support each other! Good news and bad news does not take turns. We have to deal with whatever comes our way. Once again, the waiting is the hardest part.

Yes, I'm on pessaries. One, teeny tiny hopeful part of me is explaining to myself it must be friction from that. But, a major part is saying that my history proves it'll lead to bad news.

Hopefull1981 · 19/07/2022 15:52

Will you just wait and see @EasterBunny7 ? I absolutely have zero patience. Could you get progesterone checked? I think low progesterone can lead to spotting?

EasterBunny7 · 19/07/2022 16:33

@Hopefull1981 I did not even think to ask that and neither did my clinic offer that, actually! I emailed them now but they probably won't respond until tomorrow and I'm sure it will be a no.

Hopefull1981 · 19/07/2022 16:52

@EasterBunny7 your EPU might do it. My GP definitely does but it takes a while. Mine was 72 yesterday.

EasterBunny7 · 19/07/2022 18:24

@Hopefull1981 thank you for the tip! What does the 72 mean? Did they increase your progesterone? Just wondering how much more they could possibly increase for me? I'm on three pessaries and one gel.

Hopefull1981 · 19/07/2022 19:34

@EasterBunny7 it was just the progesterone level in the blood. Sometimes the amount you are taking doesn’t correspond to the amount absorbed and it needs to be increased.

Hopefull1981 · 20/07/2022 12:11

How are you today @EasterBunny7?

Hopefull1981 · 20/07/2022 14:11

Well girls another day another test. I just took another test digital test and it has gone back up to 2-3 weeks from 1-2 weeks, which was FMU yesterday. I also did a frer. I am finding my tests in the morning are lighter than afternoon. So these are all SMU.

flowersinmay · 20/07/2022 15:29

@Hopefull1981 oh wow!!!!! There is definitely hope!!! That's really exciting. Really keeping my fingers crossed for you - do you know when you'll be able to know more?

@EasterBunny7 I hope you're doing ok? Any news?

Sending you ladies so much love and positive vibes! Thank you for your updates. No news from me really, just having little naps and eating like a horse!

Xoxo

Hopefull1981 · 20/07/2022 15:42

@flowersinmay just keep testing hoping for dark lines until next wednesday, I will have a scan then. How are you doing?

flowersinmay · 20/07/2022 18:32

@Hopefull1981 aww bless you, yes Wednesday is a while away - I also have my first scan then. Really hoping it's ok, it still doesn't feel real. Resisting the urge to do more tests..! Need to save them for my next round! I'm doing ok thanks, not really any symptoms - just feeling a bit bloated but I was like that throughout all of the ivf process, and a bit tired but think that's also from the heat!

Hope your lines get stronger this week 🤞 Xox

Hopefull1981 · 20/07/2022 18:40

@flowersinmay well I got 50 cheap ones, can’t be spending on frers every day. I have one digital left for sat/Sunday, although I have trust in them now given the last few days. I just about have achey boobs at this stage but sure that could be progesterone.

EasterBunny7 · 20/07/2022 18:42

@Hopefull1981 @flowersinmay

Spotting calmed down further but not completely disappeared. Clinic said they don't do progesterone tests and I've reached my limit with medication. They just reiterated that I go to EPU if I get additional symptoms. Otherwise, I'm waiting it out for next Thursday, just like you @Hopefull1981

The women on the general pregnancy thread for March 2023 have a positive, what will be will be attitude and have advised me not to worry. But, I guess it's more easy to not worry when you can procreate without medical intervention and/or already have several children to be content with.
