@XjustagirlX I hope your cycle gets going soon! It’s so frustrating having to wait.

Normally your suggestion would work perfectly but 42 degrees in the shade is just too hot for anywhere in the house not right under an active air conditioner to be under 30 degrees. And there’s no way I’m going to leave the aircon on all the time all week! The hot air sneaks into everything and the walls of the house retain heat even over night. It sucks! Anyway, in the end my doctor said to just put the meds in the door of the fridge and stop worrying, so that’s what I have done!

So we’ve not had a great time. Our transfer worked but hcg although it was rising was slower than they’d like. Had a scan at 6+4 and 7+4 both showing a gestational sac and yolk sac but no foetus. So unfortunately it was missed miscarriage/blighted ovum. We were referred to EPU and had a surgical management MVA on Wednesday. Just taking it easy now and back to work on Monday. Because of this we will need a normal period before trying again and with holidays it will either be august or September. We prob need a little time before trying again, this has been tough!

hopefloats2022 · 01/07/2022 21:02

This is a trigger warning because I know all too well it’s not easy to hear other people’s pregnancy news.

I am officially pregnant, we had a scan at 7 weeks and there were actually twins 😭❤️ both with strong heartbeats. Im incredibly grateful but at the same time can’t believe it/ waiting for bad news any second because that is what infertility does to a person! The next scan is 12 weeks. Thinking about you ladies and sending the best vibes that you are next. I guess a reminder that miracles can happen even when you are convinced there’s no way. Xxx

LT103 · 01/07/2022 22:01

@hopefloats2022 thats amazing news!!! So glad we got some good news in this thread!!!! Fingers crossed for a lovely healthy 9 months. Well 7-8 months now!!!

Lisabrown88 · 02/07/2022 04:34

@hopefloats2022 wow congratulations!! Thats absolutely amazing girl. Please share with us the medication used and did you put 2 embryos? Also did the doctor insist on 1 embryo? I remember you said you are in Canada right?

Lisabrown88 · 02/07/2022 04:39

@LT103 urgh im so sorry to hear about that. Its very very tough indeed, cause you had a slight glimmer of hope and then this. Its never easy with these things and taking sometime out can be helpful but I know how annoying it can be to wait. Im hoping for better luck in the next cycle you try.

Hi @Lisabrown88 - Yes I was on a “testosterone flare” protocol which was testosterone gel plus birth control in the priming month, then started daily low doses of suprefact. Stimmed with 450 gonal and 150 menopur. I got 4 blastocysts (from 7 fertilized eggs, so much better than my first cycle where I didn’t get any blasts), because of my age they transferred the two best ones (I’m 39). I am in Canada so it was according to the provincial guideline. When they tested my hcg on 13dp5dt it was 1007 which they said was high enough so I didn’t do a repeat hcg. Then twins were confirmed at 7 week ultrasound with two strong heartbeats. I’m 10 weeks now and incredibly sick but nothing compared to the trauma of ivf. I had been taking prenatals, Fish oil and coq10 for about 6 months. I also am a bit underweight so I stopped high intensity workouts and gained some fat which I think helped too. I was 100% sure this cycle wasn’t going to work (the clinic had tried to convince us to do donor eggs because our first cycle was such a flop) but I guess it’s more proof that making babies is a miracle and it’s also not necessary to be positive. I was feeling so negative!!!!! Xxx

hopefloats2022 · 02/07/2022 18:31

Thank you @LT103 !! I’m so sorry to hear about your cycle that must have been devastating. I’ve had a missed miscarriage before and it gutted me. Lots of love to you and it sounds good to take a little time to recover before going in for the next round. Lots of love to you.

XjustagirlX · 08/07/2022 20:53

Hi everyone so I had another embryo transfer but it was stressful as I didn’t ovulate until about CD25 also it was looking like it would land on a Sunday so would be cancelled. Luckily it all worked out ok and I had 2 embryos transferred. I’m now in the tww.

XjustagirlX · 08/07/2022 21:06

@hopefloats2022 thats such amazing news! Congrats.

@LT103 im sorry you have gone through that! It’s so upsetting.

Iliada · 14/07/2022 12:52

Just thought that I would update finally that after the first FET in May failed, I had a second FET in June and have just found out that this one is almost certainly another MMC at 7 weeks.

I know they were both genetically normal embryos, and the MMC is absolutely identical to the one I had with IUI two years ago, with it growing to what looks like 6.5 weeks but never having a heartbeat.

Going to have it confirmed for sure on Monday, but already completely devastated. I have no more embryos to try now, so will have to go back to the beginning.

Fertilityjourney · 14/07/2022 18:38

@Iliada so sorry to hear this, it is really devastating but you have to find some hope and get back on the wagon! It’s all just a process and this process is longer for some of us!
I am also back to the drawing board, I only had 1 embryo to transfer last time and that didn’t work out. Sending love and positive vibes x

Takeme2thebeach · 14/07/2022 19:16

@Iliada please research immune treatment, I’m very sorry for your losses. Pm me if you want any info

Lisabrown88 · 17/07/2022 21:44

@hopefloats2022 thanks for the medication tips! So glad for you, its such a journey and its always amazing when things work out

@Iliada im so sorry to hear this. As much as I want to say keep trying I understand taking sometime as its so devastating each time. I really hope for positive news all round soon

@XjustagirlX how is it going with your tww?

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 17/07/2022 23:17

@Lisabrown88 so I got a BFP on OTD. I was really excited but I keep thinking something will go wrong like the last 3 miscarriages I had. We put 2 embryos in so I’m desperate to know how many have implanted. I’ve got to wait until 28th July for my first scan at 6+3

hopefloats2022 · 17/07/2022 23:59

@XjustagirlX im keeping everything crossed for you!!!! What were your betas?? How are others doing this time around? Xx

XjustagirlX · 18/07/2022 10:23

@hopefloats2022 ive not had a blood test so no idea what the hcg level is. On OTD i had a 3+ reading on a clearblue digital which the leaflet says is more than 2700.

Lisabrown88 · 28/07/2022 07:40

@XjustagirlX good luck today on your scan!! :)

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 28/07/2022 11:50

@Lisabrown88 thank you. The appointment is this afternoon. I’m so anxious. Luckily my husband can come in with me. I’ve never had him in a scan with any of my miscarriages or ivf appointments due to COVID.

Lisabrown88 · 28/07/2022 15:18

@XjustagirlX fingers and toes crossed for you! :)

XjustagirlX · 28/07/2022 15:34

I’ve just had my scan and it was good news. I am measuring one day ahead at 6+4 and we saw a heartbeat.

im going back next week for another scan.

it was only 1 baby so the second embryo mustn’t have implanted or not stuck around. I am a bit sad just because I’m also grieving for the lost embryo at the same time.

Lisabrown88 · 28/07/2022 18:32

@XjustagirlX congratulations! Its great news to have even one, I can imagine how it is loosing the second one. Its a blessing to have one still standing!

Unfortunately for me today was my blood test day and it was negative. I just feel so broken and so guilty that I married an only son, i feel everyone is waiting for me and im constantly disappointing. This is my 3rd time as well excluding the miscarriages. This is much harder than I thought. Just want to give up.

Lisabrown88 · 29/07/2022 10:08

For those who had BFP after multiple failed cycles, did the doctors change your medication in the BFP cycle and what did they change it to? Im just so confused as to what to do next. Ive even changed clinics, and yet still failed. I just want some answers but the doctors say its unexplained infertility and thats the absolute worst feeling.
