Just checking if anyone else is on the two week wait right now? I am! and wanted to just see how everyone is feeling :) I started my two week wait today!

@LT103 are you on progesterone?
it looks like your transfer was the day after mine. It’s good that you get a blood test today, I’ve got to wait officially until Thursday.

do you have a photo of your positive test? Mine was so light it can’t be picked up with a camera.

my spotting is brown but it’s not normal spotting where it comes out on it’s own, it’s just being mixed with the progesterone residue. Also I’m worried that the progesterone is preventing my period as that what usually happens with me.

fingers crossed for your results.

XjustagirlX · 31/05/2022 12:24

Also I have done loads of research on the trigger. I can’t find one source which says it will still be in my system 16 days later. The maximum I found was 14 days. This is so frustrating.

LT103 · 31/05/2022 12:43

@XjustagirlX no progesterone I’m doing a natural FET so just had an injection of ovitrelle on day of transfer. My period would normally have started 2 days ago.
test def had a line so it’s visible on photo. I’m just more concerned about the spotting

XjustagirlX · 01/06/2022 09:52

@LT103 did you get your blood results back?

XjustagirlX · 01/06/2022 10:07

I’ve just done another frer and I think I see a line but again it’s so so faint that I wonder if I’m just seeing things.

even if there is a line as it’s so faint it’s probably the trigger even though it’s been 18 days but maybe it has stayed in me.

LT103 · 01/06/2022 11:59

@XjustagirlX when is otd??

i got bloods back from yesterday (10dpt) and they wanted them over 70 and they were 32. So I am pregnant but they’ve said 70% chance will end in chemical. However my line is darker today so I’m keeping fingers crossed. Back for more bloods tomorrow so will have better idea then

XjustagirlX · 01/06/2022 12:07

@LT103 fingers crossed for you. It’s interesting that they want them at 70 at 10 days after ET. Also assuming it is doubling that’s only a difference of one day.

LT103 · 01/06/2022 12:38

@XjustagirlX Anything over 70 at this point is good and so long as it doubles every 2-3 days so hoping for a better number tomorrow

Fertilityjourney · 03/06/2022 09:52

@Lisabrown88 how are you feeling, are you going straight back in for another round? I’m still waiting for my consultation with the clinic to talk about next step

Lisabrown88 · 03/06/2022 10:12

@Fertilityjourney I think I feel numb if anything. Im moving to another clinic so it depends how long it takes for the admin of everything but I would like to try again on my next cycle. How about you?

OP posts:
Iliada · 03/06/2022 10:33

@Lisabrown88 @Fertilityjourney I hope you are doing ok. I am back on the meds, gearing up to hopefully have another transfer this month. Apparently back-to-back transfers are ok as long as the lining is good, and so far that hasn’t been my problem.

If nothing goes wrong, I’d be back to the interminable wait by the middle of June. But this time it will be emotionally even harder as this will be my last FET before having to cycle again. I only got 2 suitable for freezing last time (although I am hugely grateful to have had two).

So the pressure will be on this one to work.

Fertilityjourney · 03/06/2022 12:47

@Lisabrown88 @Iliada After my initial ‘never doing it again’ reaction, I’m coming round to maybe giving it another go. I only had 1 embryo from last cycle so I would have to start from scratch. Think I’ve missed the boat trying again this month, just started bleeding which means I’d have to be starting with injections again in the next couple of days. As my consultation isn’t until Tuesday I’m guessing earliest egg collection would be July. Seems so far away!

Lisabrown88 · 03/06/2022 19:50

@Iliada oh wow i didnt even think it was possible to start after the failed IVF cycle, i assumed it would need to be on the next cycle, thats awesome. You are also so strong to start straight away, i felt like i needed a minute to process to loss but in essence its 1 month sorta wasted! Fingers crossed this is the one to click.

@Fertilityjourney yea thats tough having to start from scratch. The egg collection process is so unpleasant, hopefully this time you are able to get multiple blastocysts, definitely give it another go.

Im waiting to get my embryos transferred across to a private clinic and hopefully i am able to start in July.

Spraying baby dust on all of us :) really glad to have this support group as no one around me is going through IVF so its hard to express some feelings!

XjustagirlX · 07/06/2022 15:20

So I had my call with the consultant and I can start my next cycle straight away. Now I’ve had 3 failed transfer she said if I want I can put 2 blastocysts in next time so we need to make that decision. I didn’t think I would be able to as I’m nhs funded but seems it’s ok.

my gut is saying to go for it as they probably won’t take anyway.

Iliada · 08/06/2022 19:07

@Lisabrown88 Let us know how it goes! I hope the transfer to the private clinic goes well. Everything is a little step forward in the story that we will hopefully get to tell someone a long time in the future.

I just found out that a family member had IVF many years ago, and it felt so good to get to bond with her about it. It’s always such a complicated story but it’s going to be an important part of our lives forever, whatever happens. And it’s something that you have to have done or been right there with someone doing it, to really understand.

@XjustagirlX Gosh, what a decision. I don’t know what I’d go for in your shoes, after 3 failed transfers. If I get to that point, I’ll be feeling pretty down about it. Despite all the very important possible problems associated with multiples, I always think it’s better to trust your gut about everything. Instincts are how we stayed alive, back in the caveman times! You’ll choose what’s right for you.

I had my lining check today and everything is looking good for another FET next Tuesday. I am having nightmares all night at the moment, but really stupid ones about being on a plane or a train where they suddenly close the doors and I can’t get off and I’m shouting at the crew that I have to go home to take my medication. Pretty sure it wouldn’t take Freud to work out what’s going on there!

Frostie84 · 08/06/2022 21:38

Hi Everyone

I had my embryo transfer on Monday and the 2ww is already driving me mad. Is anyone else on their 2ww?

Fertilityjourney · 09/06/2022 20:04

@Iliada @XjustagirlX I’m rooting for you both, bring on the next transfer!! Do you have a transfer date yet? Do keep us updated.
@Lisabrown88 did you get moved ok? What is your next step, you waiting until July for next transfer?

@Frostie84 welcome to the group. You’re at a super exciting and anxious time, how you feeling ? Is this your first transfer?

Lisabrown88 · 10/06/2022 03:15

@XjustagirlX you genuinely are so strong after 3 failed transfers, have you decided if to put 2 embryos back in? Thats great you were able to start straight away whilst being NHS, i was told i had to wait 6 to 8 weeks for a follow up appointment with the doctor, and after that il be put back on the waiting list which could be another 2months from then. I just couldnt wait so hoping i made the right decision to move to another clinic. You are in the right direction trying again and IVF succeeding is sometimes a matter of trying multiple times so this may be it! :)

@Iliada @Fertilityjourneyyes the move is still on progress. My current clinic is incredibly slow on sending medical records or signing the consent form to even start my embryo shipping, im really hoping this is done in the next week or so as otherwise i wouldnt be able to do the frozen cycle in July :(

@Iliada wow that dream is pretty detailed, its definitely your mind playing tricks on you. Rooting for you on this cycle :)

@Fertilityjourney whats your next move?

@Frostie84 whoop welcome to the group, its been a super supportive group to share how we are feeling about the 2 week wai :) wishing you the best of luck!

XjustagirlX · 10/06/2022 10:28

@Lisabrown88 i think I’m going to go for 2. If they both take which is so unlikely!

I’m not phased about actually having 2 babies as I have a supportive family around me. and I do want multiple children ideally.

i am concerned about my health though but it is statistically so rare to get both to stick especially as I’ve had 3 failed transfers. Probably neither will work!

ive been really lucky with my clinic actually. My clinic is private but I’m my area they take on nhs patients and they don’t offer two different services either. If I was at the nhs hospital there are long waits between transfers. If I was there I too would move to private.

yesterday we had karotyping blood tests done to see if we have any issues with our chromosomes. Won’t get the results for over a month but I’m just looking to rule out more causes.

Iliada · 14/06/2022 12:21

Well, had the second transfer today and what a mess! The doctors and nurses were so brilliant but it is currently 40 degrees here and apparently my 2 litres of water that I drank an hour before the procedure hadn’t arrived in the right place by the time they got to the transfer. I guess I must have been dehydrated even though I had been drinking water like a fish all morning.

Had a small freak out that they wouldn’t be able to do it, but in the end they just pressed the scanner down really really hard and said they could actually see ok anyway and said everything looked perfect. So panic over, I guess.

Oh, well. Last time I made sure to do everything absolutely perfectly and it didn’t work. I’m just not going to worry so much this time.

Iliada · 14/06/2022 14:38

Ok, scratch all that contented stuff above, they rang me from the clinic seconds after posting to say that my progesterone is low and I had to find injections this time! So I have just spent 2 hours running around in 42 degrees (ok, taking taxis around in 42 degrees), freaking out that I wouldn’t find the meds.

All the pharmacies were saying it was out of stock until I finally found the one which had bought all the stock!

Hellish. I feel like this is completely pointless now. There’s no way this can work after all this stress and the bad result on the blood test.

Iliada · 14/06/2022 14:39

And now I have to figure out how to keep the meds cool in 42 degrees when the pharmacy says I can’t put it in the fridge.

This transfer is doomed.

Fertilityjourney · 14/06/2022 20:01

@Iliada stay positive you can do this!! The best things in life aren't free or easy! You've got your drugs now so no more stress, sit back feet up and think positive happy thoughts.
Keep us updated xx
@Frostie84 how you getting on?

Iliada · 14/06/2022 21:22

Thanks @Fertilityjourney for the positivity, I really need it!

The pharmacy told me not to put the progesterone in the fridge but then I called the clinic about it and the nurse said to put it in the fridge after all, so I did, and then later I read the instructions inside the package which said DO NOT REFRIGERATE so I have been freaking out and crying so much all evening and I don’t know what to do.

This is not at all what I had planned.

XjustagirlX · 15/06/2022 11:18

@Iliada that sounds so stressful. You do have your progesterone now though which is good. Is it the suppositories you have or injections? Could you put them in the back of a kitchen cupboard? I’m trying to think of areas that would stay cool.

@Lisabrown88 how is the embryo moving going?

i went for my first scan yesterday and I don’t yet have a leading follicle so I think this will be a longer cycle. I’ve also not got a high ovulation reading either so no idea when transfer will be yet.
