@Agapanthus13 they usually only check my progesterone on the day of transfer and if the levels are good that is where they stop testing. This time I got tested on egg transfer day but my levels were "too low" so they upped my meds and tested me again 5 days later, where they are now happy with my levels. I'm not sure if they'll test again.

I'm at a private clinic and they didn't investigate my progesterone levels before transfer either, they just seem to put everyone on a load of progesterone (if on a medicated cycle) and then just checked on ET day, so it's not been tailored as such unless the levels on ET day were too low.

I don't recall my NHS clinic testing my progesterone levels at any point but that was 5-6 years ago so may have changed!

Herewegoagain881 · 03/04/2022 15:24

@AliceAbsolum that sounds absolutely horrific..

Suki2020 · 03/04/2022 15:26

@Hopingforamiracle11im so sorry to hear AF turned up for you, sending big hugs. It’s such a hard process to go through. We are all hear for you.

Suki2020 · 03/04/2022 15:28

Ladies I’m getting loads of EWCM this afternoon like I’m about to ovulate and I’m not due for egg collection until next Friday at earliest. Should I be worried?

Autumn245 · 03/04/2022 15:39

@PMAmostofthetime I don't have tatoos either for the same reason, I'm not as bad that I would pass out when seeing a needle but I can never bring myself to look at the needle whenever I've had bloods taken or gotten my vaccines etc. I guess I will have to grin and bare it as best I can and just keep thinking of the reason why I am doing this in the first place. How are you feeling today?

@Hopingforamiracle11 I'm sorry to read about your CP, it's so heartbreaking. Take all the time you need before moving on to the next steps x

@Greenisland101 sorry you haven't had the results you were hoing for. It's so disheartening seeing the numbers drop. I really hope your remaining 2 make it to day 3 🤞

PMAmostofthetime · 03/04/2022 16:37

@Greenisland101 it's horrible when this happens- I had around 22 follicles 8 eggs collected 5 fertilised day 3 lost 2 and 1 was slowing down- day 5 the last 2 had slowed down- I got to transfer but with 1 Cavitating Morula and 1 early blast. Currently 4dp5dt.

It's really heart breaking and my clinic just said this happens sometimes and could be completely different next time. It's so tough though I know I got to IVF and thought yes this is our change and for it to be taken away at any point is heart breaking- take some time for yourself and cry it will make you feel better. These guys on here helped me have a little more hope too.

@Hopingforamiracle11 I'm not sure if your is the same but at my clinic 1 round of funding covers 1 fresh and 1 frozen transfer so you would still have a whole other cycle left. Unfortunately I have no Frosties but it's good news for you.
I also read that 1st attempts are always a trial run and for optimal succeed women need 3 cycles. This is what keeps me going- there is still hope.

@TommieNC I think we are all feeling the same I had transfer Wed too and I keep thinking did I eat enough protein? Did enough of that pessary stay in. Was that thing I lifted to heavy. Should I have crouched down? Did I take my supplements? Have you spoken to your clinic about the lower dose?

@Agapanthus13 thinking of you, it's heart breaking. great news about your Frosties. Hope you have a clear plan soon. Love the necklace idea 💕

@Agapanthus13@Herewegoagain881 I've not had my progesterone levels checked at all during this cycle- NHS.

@AliceAbsolum That sounds awful, so glad you got past it and found a good clinic.
I'm eagerly awaiting your next blog.

@Suki2020 my clinic asked me if I had this as I had some fluid on my right ovary, up your water intake, protein and drink isotonic drinks to prevent OHSS.

@Autumn245 I don't pass out seeing them, just when they are in. Seeing them just makes me really anxious and hot.
I got through it and am mentally preparing myself for my next cycle. You can do it. I did all be it with a few Diva strops and lots of tears x

HJen22 · 03/04/2022 16:46

Ah only just noticed this new thread! Thank you @AliceAbsolum for tagging me!

We were away a couple of days so I've not been on, shall catch up on all the messages now xx

AliceAbsolum · 03/04/2022 17:00

@PMAmostofthetime Every Sunday 3pm. We've had loads of people unsubscribe from the channel. Turns out IVF vlogs are not what Vanlife people want to watch. Never minds, it this or us uploading us watching TV and Googling early pregnancy symptoms 😅

@AliceAbsolum sorry to hear that, oooo I'll go and have a look now. I'm really eager to see it :) I'm sure lots of others are too x

HJen22 · 03/04/2022 17:07

Oh ladies what a few days. This journey really isn't easy. I'm so so sorry to those who've had bad news, AF arrive and an absolutely awful cancer scare. I am sending all the love to all of you wonderfully strong women.

Thank you for your summary @PMAmostofthetime it's fab and exactly what we needed, things do change so often.

I apologise for not keeping up, it was my birthday last Wednesday (I cried a few times before and after, not the birthday I'd hoped for) but we went and stayed in a lovely Airbnb, no tv, we played games and chatted and had a couple of wines. Was exactly what we needed.

I really really hope the week ahead holds some good news for the thread. TWWindowers hang in there! Xxx

Agapanthus13 · 03/04/2022 17:11

@PMAmostofthetime I think you’ve got totally the right attitude treating the first round as a trial. For some people it’s all they need which is wonderful, but for others it’s the best way to prepare for the next round. We had consultation at 3 clinics when we moved and as much as it was useful having bloods, AMH & baseline scans again they essentially all said the same ie the only way to know how you’ll react to ivf is to do a whole round. Each clinic thoroughly went through our ivf medical record before coming up with their proposed plan for this round x

Agapanthus13 · 03/04/2022 17:15

@Greenisland101 really sorry to hear your numbers going down, it’s such a tough stage of the process and it’s horrid waiting for those update calls. Keeping everything crossed that your two current embie keep developing well 🤞🏻 Can I ask, have you done a round before and therefore know you needed ICIS? X

HJen22 · 03/04/2022 17:15

@Agapanthus13 I'm so sorry for your sad news, life is so cruel. I hope you are taking the time you need to process and grieve 💕 sending all the positivity for your next cycle with one of your Frosties xx

Suki2020 · 03/04/2022 17:17

@PMAmostofthetime thanks. I’ve already up’d my intake of protein and I’m trying drinking 3litres of water a day and one isotonic drink.

PMAmostofthetime · 03/04/2022 17:23

@HJen22 I totally understand the tears my eyes just constantly leak atm.

Sounds like you had a lovely few days away for your birthday and great to have you back.

@Autumn245 I realised I didn't answer if I was ok, back pain gone- really bloated but I think all the fluid is adding to that- jeans are not part of my wardrobe atm.

I just do what I need to do then mop around really- it's not good at all.
I'm afraid to even walk the dog incase they pull and strain my stomach. I'm also constantly cold as I'm afraid to over heat 😂 🙈
I honestly hope work distracts me this week.

@Agapanthus13 it doesn't help the feelings of sadness but being through an entire cycle has made us more prepared for the next one which I think will be June now x

Agapanthus13 · 03/04/2022 17:43

Thank you @HJen22 x and happy birthday for last week 🎈. Glad you managed to go away for a few days together, sounds like the perfect tonic. x

Hopingforamiracle11 · 03/04/2022 17:44

@AliceAbsolum thanks for recommendation. I will definitely look into those clinics, though would also consider Gyncentrum in Czech Republic and also one of the clinics in Poland.

@TommieNC good luck x What was your choice or the three best clinics if I may ask? I totally agree - plans help to stay sane during this journey.

Hopingforamiracle11 · 03/04/2022 17:50

@AliceAbsolum that experience sounds like a nightmare!
@Suki2020 thank you xx Suki I don’t think there is anything to worry about, it’s a normal response of body to increased oestrogen and is a great sign that you’re growing eggs. You take medication that stops you from ovulating so I wouldn’t worry. I experienced the exact same thing!
@Autumn245 thank you x

Hopingforamiracle11 · 03/04/2022 17:59

@PMAmostofthetime when are you planning to start testing? Are you going to wait till OTD? :)
I checked and my local CCG’s policy states that for second cycle FET is done if there are embryos available (I guess everything to keep the cost down). It’s a shame I can’t have another full cycle on NHS- I think already knowing what the procedure is like and what to expect would make the process less stressful so potentially eggs would be of better quality. But never mind, my plan is to have three cycles after my nhs funding finishes and throw everything I have to make it work and if it doesn’t I will move on.

@HJen22 I’m glad you had a good time away x

HJen22 · 03/04/2022 18:03

@Hopingforamiracle11 I'm also so so sorry to read of your sad news. Heartbreaking 💔 I hope you are looking after yourself and taking the time you need. Sending all the love. Xx

HJen22 · 03/04/2022 18:07

I'm not sure if any of you ladies are into this sort of thing, but I like to try. I've a new mediation app that's free for a year called Balance that I'd highly recommend. And I've also been reading a book "Manifest, 7 steps to living your best life" by Roxie Nafousi. I'm trying to have positive thoughts and these sorts of things help me. But not for everyone! Xx

ginandtonicformeplease · 03/04/2022 18:43

@Hopingforamiracle11 I'm so sorry to hear about the CP. Before I started IVF I'd never heard of CPs. Looking back I was generally really naive. I like the idea of plants to commemorate - I wish I'd done something similar for my two MCs.

@Agapanthus13 Thinking back, for the first couple of transfers the clinic did loads of bloods - oestrogen and progesterone every other day-ish. Then I guess they worked out my general levels and what I needed for the transfer and stopped so many tests. They always did a progesterone test before the transfer though, except for the last one (I had five FETs altogether with them). It was after that last one that I decided to leave as I just felt like I was on a conveyor belt and they saw me as a just a credit card.

Saying that, my new clinic did some extra tests as they found a follicle during the Day 10 scan, and wanted to be sure it was doing nothing, so I had extra scans and extra tests. There was no transfer day test though.

I have my bloods tomorrow (clinic likes to do bloods for results) so this time tomorrow I should have my HCG levels and whether it's looking good.

HJen22 · 03/04/2022 18:47

@ginandtonicformeplease I don't think I said, congratulations our your BFP 💕 sorry still catching up a little! Xx

Daisychain93x · 03/04/2022 18:50

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining. I hope you are all coping well at whichever stage in your cycle you are in, stimming or 2 week waiting, Such a journey!
Just a quick bit about where I am at the minute. I had a failed fresh transfer (first ever IVF) at the end of February. I’m currently going to be starting a natural cycle and FET with my baseline booked for Friday. Just wondering if anyone is able to answer, how many days roughly after ovulation is a FET on a natural cycle? Any info would be appreciated!

PMAmostofthetime · 03/04/2022 18:53

@Hopingforamiracle11 I've read that FET cycles are more successful as the body is under less stress. They also have to be good Embies to get to be Frosties.

Because of the low quality that was transferred I'm waiting until OTD, I know I can't deal with line progression and a cp right now.

Cramps and back pain have just decided to make an appearance, I seem to be getting pain near my hip too? Anyone speculate?

@ginandtonicformeplease it's never to late to commemorate your MC's now you have a BFP you could do it when the baby's born as a gift from there sibling- closure for full circle?

@Coops0406 is it biopsy day tomorrow?
How are you feeling? X
