@SUMMERTIME02 vaginally it’s 20-30 mins but rectally I do think they say 1-2 hrs, so if possible to hold it longer that’s probably best? But if 1 hr is the best you can do then I would think that’s okay? But speak to your clinic, maybe they can offer an alternative plan?

SUMMERTIME02 · 28/04/2022 11:30

Thank you @SamTTC i got in touch with my clinic, they're yet to get back to me. Hopefully will feel better once hearing from them

AliceAbsolum · 28/04/2022 12:30

We have a baby with a heartbeat measuring exactly right! They've discharged me from the epu. Next scan at 12 weeks.
I'm cautiously optimistic but at 7+1 it's early days still.

Phew. Bloody knackered!

@AliceAbsolum so happy to hear this news! How are you feeling otherwise?

AliceAbsolum · 28/04/2022 12:34

I'm just mentally exhausted and drained. Want to be happy but don't know how to feel!

@AliceAbsolum yay! Fantastic news!

TommieNC · 28/04/2022 13:00

@SamTTC @Autumn245 @Somatronic @Steph2345 @Herewegoagain881 Thank you so much for the thoughts. I had a freak out moment about 45 mins ago when the Ultrasound place called me and said they were cancelling all appts today due to the sonographer being sick.
Luckily we found a different place that has an appt at 2:30 pm today.

@AliceAbsolum I am so happy for you and hope you don't have anymore scares. I've been a bundle of nerves all morning and praying we have the same happy outcome today as you!!

@XjustagirlX I am so sorry to hear about your negative.

ginandtonicformeplease · 28/04/2022 13:20

@XjustagirlX @SamTTC I'm sorry to hear about the negative results. I like your style though Sam - upon hearing bad news while TTC my reaction has more been to reach for the jar of Nutella, which definitely doesn't help long term!

It is possible to have all those tests done: I shudder to think how much we've spent on IVF and testing (straight to self-funding as at the time there was no NHS funding for IVF in my area). I still have no definitive answers as to why I had two MMC in a row though - I don't know whether tests for implantation issues provide more certainty. Can you have private tests done alongside your NHS rounds, or would you have to transfer over to the private clinic for everything?

ginandtonicformeplease · 28/04/2022 13:22

@AliceAbsolum That's fantastic! So happy for you Smile

Jampot36 · 28/04/2022 13:27

@AliceAbsolum that is just the best news!!!!!!
Let it sink in but i think you can allow yourself a little happiness.

Herewegoagain881 · 28/04/2022 14:09

@AliceAbsolum Yay!!! Such fantastic news! I really had a feeling it was going to be ok for you! You must be so relieved that all is looking good and measuring well!

@TommieNC I'm glad you managed to get another scan and hope it's good news!

Herewegoagain881 · 28/04/2022 14:17

@SamTTC @XjustagirlX I'm so sorry about your results today..

@SamTTC my clinic CRGH (London) is private but I believe they take on NHS clients where too (or at least they used to), but clients would have to take on the additional costs that the NHS wouldn't fund. Unfortunately I only found this out after 2 unsuccessful transfers with the NHS at a different clinic and do feel those blastocysts were wasted as I wasn't on enough progesterone. So as others mentioned you may be able to get tested for additional things at a different clinic, or find a good clinic that does joint NHS/private work. Maybe more progesterone and steroids could help for your next transfer?

Autumn245 · 28/04/2022 14:50

@AliceAbsolum fantastic news 😁 so glad you are measuring on track. Must be a huge relief but at the same time I can understand your hesitation with not wanting to get too excited. Hoping for smooth sailing here on out for you x

TommieNC · 28/04/2022 15:01

We have a heartbeat, 120 bpm. Measuring perfectly for 6w6d.

They also found a tiny SCH which was the source of the bleed last week and randomly a fibroid.

Autumn245 · 28/04/2022 15:25

@TommieNC Yay! That's so good! I'm so happy things are looking well x

SamTTC · 28/04/2022 15:28

My goodness @AliceAbsolum and @TommieNC what wonderful news for you both, I am so happy after all the stress you have experienced!! I hope you are able to enjoy it <3 Alice could they explain the bleeding? Did it have to do with the other embryo?

@ginandtonicformeplease @Herewegoagain881 thanks for the info- I might look into private testing options. It's weird just never getting a bfp. Just like I am an impostor in this whole endeavour - my body just is not capable of pregnancy. Like I am flapping my arms and being foolish enough to have a small hope that I can fly. Does anyone else feel this way?

AliceAbsolum · 28/04/2022 15:39

@TommieNC Yes!! So pleased for you :)))

@SamTTC They had no idea. Other sac looks exactly the same. Apparently it's not unusual for it to be unexplained though.

I still feel like an imposter. None of it seems real. It feels like a pointless endeavor doesn't it.
But ivf is such a numbers game. You need 3x good embryo transfers before you can start to think it might be implantation. (IMO) I've had 7, 5 day embryos transferred over 4 goes. Only 2 have stuck.

@TommieNC That is fantastic! So pleased for you.

Herewegoagain881 · 28/04/2022 16:36

@TommieNC that's fantastic news!!!

@SamTTC It's so much harder when there isn't a clear cut reason why it's not working.. and it's so hard to pin point the reason a lot of the time as there's so many things it could be. I hope you get some answers!

LT103 · 28/04/2022 18:38

@SamTTC @XjustagirlX I’m so sorry about your negative tests

@AliceAbsolum that is a little fighter you have in there!! Congratulations!!!!

@TommieNC amazing news. Must have been great to see that heartbeat!!

Steph2345 · 28/04/2022 18:57

@SamTTC sorry about your result but your not out until Monday so fingers crossed for you.

PMAmostofthetime · 28/04/2022 21:38

Hi all struggling to keep up atm works crazy and I'm trying to stay on top in preparation for the next cycle.

@AliceAbsolum amazing news so pleased for you- I expect the scan was very emotional.

@TommieNC amazing news too! How are you feeling?

X

PMAmostofthetime · 28/04/2022 21:45

@XjustagirlX sorry to hear about your negative- it took me around 3 weeks to feel normal and stop crying- let yourself grieve.

@HJen22 also gave me the idea of buying a flower to commemorate the lost Embies and as I had 2 put in I got 2 matching ones- it has helped me say goodbye to what could have been.

@SamTTC you still have 4 days for HSG to increase, have my fingers crossed for you.

Good luck to all of you in the 2 WW how are you all doing? After day 8 I went slightly crazy.

@Autumn245 I like @SamTTC's idea too. I always second guess myself buying clothes and before and during the cycle all I bought myself was bigger knickers 😂.

I am on a mission to get fit and lose weight before me the next cycle starts x
