@HJen22 wonderful news that you are feeling better finally! And yes isn’t it amazing how time has passed so slow and quick at the same time?! It was the same for my break, it felt like forever and yet it’s already over! I’m so glad I had this thread to help with the waiting.

@PMAmostofthetime yesss isn’t it an amazing feeling when the progesterone leaves your system? in previous cycles I haven’t noticed until after i went off it how much it was weighing me down. You’re absolutely right the higher dose might make the difference! I’m trying not to worry how I’ll react emotionally to such a high dose this time haha, especially because I’ve already been quite moody, maybe from the estrogen 😅 my body really is not a fan of these hormones. I’m definitely over-stressing and catastrophizing more than I otherwise would be. Oh well. Deep breaths!
Mid June start isn’t too far away really, hopefully your letter comes soon.

@Herewegoagain881 thinking of you today ❤️

@ginandtonicformeplease I was also awake for mine! I might be in the minority but I prefer it. I am terrified of the idea of being put under!

@AliceAbsolum how are you doing at the moment? :)

SamTTC · 16/04/2022 07:54

Somewhat off topic, but are you all planning your holidays around your clinics’ breaks? I was gutted when I first saw the sign that they are closed for new cycle start-ups for a whole months and a half over the summer, but I actually realised it gives me a huge freedom. Last summer I was doing my iuis, and it meant I couldn’t plan a getaway at all and ended up being in my TWW on the one shabby week in a last minute air bnb cottage so I was hesitant to even swim in the sea - and then my period came early and I was devastated! This time I can book a whole two week break and knowing that I’ll either be pregnant or be waiting for my clinic to open back up anyway during that time. I’m SO excited 😊

AliceAbsolum · 16/04/2022 07:57

@Herewegoagain881 Thinking of you. Limbo is horrible. I'd prefer either way than the anxious waiting.

@SamTTC I'm actually doing OK. I thought I'd be a wreak after last time. But I'm much less anxious. Which is weird. But I think I learnt a lot about what not to do last time. E. G Google chances of miscarriage everyday...🙄
Partly I'm not so invested in this, like the absolute desperation to have a baby isn't there anymore, but also me and my family and friends all have really good gut feelings about this. Which I know means nothing! But those lines are just insane compared to the incredibly light lines last time. I'm really tired and feel sicker this time. I just think there is a good chance implantation is strong this time and maybe last time it never stuck properly and that's why I had the hematoma. Who knows.

@PMAmostofthetime glad you are feeling better now. Mid-June isn’t far away so that’s great news. Yeah they said they would ring today with another update. Didn’t sleep great last night as I’m worried what they’ll say today, just hoping we will have at least one to transfer on Monday. I hate the waiting game, it’s so hard. I didn’t appreciate how hard it would be until now.

Jampot36 · 16/04/2022 08:39

@SamTTC the progesterone pessaries are a total headf**k aren't they! I cant wait to finish them, emotional wreck!
Can you pop an alarm on your phone for your meds?

@Autumn245 your poor hubs! Mine wasnt allowed to wait in the clinic so he went for a wander round newcastle and a cheeky mcdonalds while he waited for the call to come get me.

Welcome to the 9 club!

@AliceAbsolum how are you going? Have you managed to relax a little?

@PMAmostofthetime yes he's lucky he didn't get thrown. First thing in the morning though who has the energy! It's hard to not read into every symptom and pretty rubbish that progesterone mimics pregnancy symptoms, joyful. Glad you're feeling more like yourself.

@Iwouldlikesomecake will you test early do you think?

2 days to go. My hairdresser (known her for 15 years so she knows our struggles) has a weird ability to know when her clients are pregnant.. yday she said when i walked through the door she got the feeling.
I'm not going to put too much on it but gave me a little boost.

Herewegoagain881 · 16/04/2022 08:48

Thanks @PMAmostofthetime @AliceAbsolum @SamTTC

I'm feeling surprisingly better today although I'm dreading tomorrow as I'm meeting a newborn for the first time which is a little too soon, but they don't know about our IVF so I'm hoping I can just pretend all is ok. My friend is also pregnant and we're supposed to meet within the week to celebrate, I'm so happy for her especially she's suffered a few miscarriages it's just not good timing. She knows I was planning on trying this year so she may ask which is why I'm a bit more hesitant, I will definitely cry if she asks and I don't want to taint her joy!

Autumn245 · 16/04/2022 13:13

@ginandtonicformeplease light sedation is a speedier recovery I suppose rather than being put to sleep, it definitely wasn't pleasant and puts me off if I need to ever do another EC.

@PMTmostofthetime I was in quite a bit of pain yesterday and had trouble sleeping last night so I've taken today off work, but feeling better now although still not 100%. Fingers crossed you get your letter soon, June will come around before you know it x

@HJen22 glad your feeling better after having covid! I found once I'd started on the norethisterone that time flew in, possibly because it felt like I was finally doing something. End of May isn't long away. Are they changing your meds or doses this time round?

@Jampot36 you are being so patient not testing early! And your hairdressers gut feeling could be right 🤞

@Suki2020 @Somatronic I'm joining you in the 5 fertilised club now 😊

Out of 9 eggs, 7 were mature and 5 have fertilised normally. Next update on monday.

Jampot36 · 16/04/2022 13:41

@Autumn245 I'm only holding off because my clinic said if i test too early could get a false positive from hcg trigger. Plus my husband has a 10k race tomorrow and we're seeing friends after so if its not positive it'll put a dampner on it
This way i can remain oblivious and pregnant until proven otherwise!

Autumn245 · 16/04/2022 14:08

@Jampot36 ah I see, that's a good distraction to have tomorrow and a great reason not to test early x

PMAmostofthetime · 16/04/2022 17:17

@Suki2020 hoping you get good news today?
I know the progesterone doesn't help with sleeping either does it? Especially when your awaiting an update or just over thinking.

@Autumn245 I was sedated but I was completely out.
The day after EC, I was really ill the following night after EC but then it passed.

@Herewegoagain881 that is a tough week, if you can't do it say your unwell it's ok to avoid these things.

@Jampot36 I had to test early because of AF but honestly it was awful- I will never do it again. Your right to hold out.

I had my letter for my appointment today it's not until 24th May Confused.

X

SamTTC · 16/04/2022 17:30

@Jampot36 that sounds like a good strategy re the test day. And I’m sure the last few days will pass quickly. Interesting about your hairdresser!

Oof yeah they are terrible. I do actually have alarms but it’s very weird, I will literally forget whether I’ve taken the pills? Like I’ll hold the bottle in my hand and be like…did I just take one or two? I think I’m stressed 😅

@Autumn245 congrats on the 5 fertilised! That’s also what I had actually 😊 one arrested on day three, the rest grew to embryos stage but one was too slow to develop, so I ended up with one fresh transfer and two to freeze.

Aw @Herewegoagain881 I can only empathise… the couple in the flat below mine had a baby recently and I meet them all the time on the stairs, plus a lady in the office brings her baby to work whenever she comes in. It’s very difficult to be happy for people. Or rather, you’re happy for them, but that makes you more sad for you. There’s nothing wrong with that feeling, but it just makes these situations so hard. You can come vent in the thread after!

@AliceAbsolum aw yeah that makes sense, it seems like a healthy approach to it and you have no (medical) reason to be worried right now so if you’re able to relax and be calm about it in any way, I think that can only be a good thing, for your mental health!

Southernbelle2019 · 16/04/2022 20:24

Hey, new here! Transfer was yesterday and I’m already losing my mind and looking for an outlet.

I hope you are all surviving! Xx

Suki2020 · 16/04/2022 20:39

@PMAmostofthetime so I still have 5 but one is developing much slower than the other four. They graded them
One 4-4
Two 3-3
One 3-4

SamTTC · 16/04/2022 20:59

@Suki2020 that’s good you still have them in the running though! How many days are the embryos and have they said when they want to do the transfer? I’m not sure what the numbers mean, is it out of five?

@Southernbelle2019 welcome :) and oof two week wait is never fun…I am still trying to figure out how to take advantage of how slowly the time passes for those two weeks haha!

Progesterone is kicking my bum and it’s barely been two days. I’m bloated and gassy and nauseous, and I’m already feeling the weird memory thing that happens to me - like I had to count my estrogen pills because I suddenly couldn’t remember having taken them at all in the evenings and convinced myself I’d skipped a bunch…turns out the manufacturer is skimpy because there are less pills left than there should be 😅 and I definitely didn’t take too many! but at least it seems I didn’t actually miss any doses.
My goodness these hormones are tough to deal with.

Southernbelle2019 · 16/04/2022 21:08

@SamTTC decided on learning crochet. I figure I can master it in 2 weeks with the 704hours that are now making up each day. I will be hopefully end up being fabulous and make toys for the baby that’s hopefully brewing.

Where are on in your FET? First introduction of progesterone or progesterone post transfer?

I don’t know which hormone it is, maybe it’s general IVF stress? But I’m pretty angry compared to our fresh cycle. I’m sure I had the giggles a fair bit during the fresh? I could easily take someone out just for breathing slightly too loudly this cycle though!

PMAmostofthetime · 16/04/2022 21:20

@Suki2020
that's great news it usually halves on day 3- so to have 5 still developing is amazing.

@SamTTC Progesterone kicked my butt too- naps where my best friend. I also found that isotonic drinks gave me some energy x

Somatronic · 17/04/2022 15:11

Hi all. Happy Easter! I still have 5 embryos on day 3, I'm so pleased! They said they're of good quality. I have no idea what kind of chance that gives them for survival on day 5 and I don't want to know 😀 Transfer on Tuesday.

PMAmostofthetime · 17/04/2022 15:30

@Somatronic
That's amazing news!!! The clinic told me to expect half of fertilised on day 3 so that's amazing.
So pleased for you when's ET?

X

Jampot36 · 17/04/2022 16:41

@Somatronic thats such a good result! Are you going straight to transfer and banking any leftovers?

I'm getting so tempted to test today...the urge is strong! My husbands trying to keep me on first thing tomorrow but this is so hard! We're home now and no plans with other people for 2 days so my brain is all over it!

AliceAbsolum · 17/04/2022 16:48

@jampot36 At one point I had to force myself to go for a wee and drink a load of water to sabotage my brains efforts.
It'll be worth it holding out. You'll know either way then. OTD is tomorrow?

OP posts:
AliceAbsolum · 17/04/2022 16:49

@somatronic 5 at day 3 is wonderful! Could be at least 2 in the freezer. Boom.

OP posts:
HJen22 · 17/04/2022 16:49

@Somatronic @Suki2020 congratulations to you ladies with your 5 still in the running, fab news!! Are you both in for transfer Tuesday?

@SamTTC is it Tuesday for your FET too?

How is everyone doing? I hope having a nice weekend x

Jampot36 · 17/04/2022 17:09

@AliceAbsolum thats a really good idea.

Yes tomorrow is the day and I'm so nervous! Was pretty chill all week with it but today I'm a bag of nerves!

SamTTC · 17/04/2022 17:20

That’s awesome @Somatronic!!

@Southernbelle2019 haha I learned punch needle last time I did a cycle! It’s a great way to make time pass

@jampot36 home stretch now…you can do it x

@HJen22 that’s right, almost there now! I hope my stomach issues from the progesterone clear up before then 🤢 but right now I’m just ready to be back in the TWW. A lot can be said for that period, but it’s the time when it feels the most like I’m actively on this journey - a nice break from all the waiting in between. It’s still waiting but it’s like…something might just be in there. It’s a nice feeling while it lasts (though obviously I hope eventually it will actually last)

Hope you are having a nice Easter! It’s absolutely gorgeous weather here

Steph2345 · 17/04/2022 17:38

Wow @Somatronic and @Suki2020 those are great numbers!

@Jampot36 definitely wait until the morning! Don’t drink too much this eve so it’s extra concentrated for the test! Hang in there

@SamTTC I hope tomorrow flies by for you. What time is your appointment on Tuesday? This time next week you’ll be hating the tww again 😂

@HJen22 have you had your second negative now?
