Agree - tomorrow cannot come soon enough.

Struggling today. Don't want to do anything, fed up with the wait. I just want to know now. The last bit is always the hardest.

@Boofimus I'm so sorry about the results, I really hope there is some in the next sample. My husband has a low count and also had a huge drop in his count on egg collection day, they did find some and did icsi. When will you know? The waiting must be so hard...sending lots of hugs and keeping my fingers crossed for you xxx

LuckyNovember · 06/04/2022 12:54

@Boofimus you poor thing, can't even imagine the stress! If it wasn't possible that the second sample is better, they probably wouldn't have asked him to do it, and with ICSI they literally will only need one good sperm per egg! Worst case scenario, they'll freeze your eggs and do the fertilisation another day, but I hope it can go ahead today 🤞🏻

Congrats on your part, hope you're feeling ok after; 3 good eggs can be more than enough 🧡

AliceAbsolum · 06/04/2022 13:23

@Boofimus Sorry, I missed your post. How awful for you. How is that even possible? Can they freeze your eggs?

OP posts:
Boofimus · 06/04/2022 13:32

Luckily the three eggs are good quality, so yes they're going to freeze them. Most likely is some kind of prostate issue, so I'm now going a bit crazy worrying about that too. They said it's only the second time they've seen it in twelve years, so basically now nobody really knows what comes next. They said they can't just keep asking him to come back because I wouldn't be ready for ET. But when they did the initial analysis he had 100 million and we've had a (spontaneous) biochemical since then, so everybody is very confused.

ginandtonicformeplease · 06/04/2022 13:45

@Boofimus DH had something similar: for the first sample he gave at the clinic for testing there was not a single normal sperm in there - they were all misshapen and couldn't be used. Words such as surgical sperm retrieval were flung around, much to DH's horror. He gave another sample a few weeks later and there were some decent ones in there - not many, but enough - so the clinic decided we could go ahead with ICSI. He really changed his diet between the samples on the advice of the clinic nutritionist - lots of protein, and I seem to remember Brazil nuts being important. (This was back in 2018 so I'm afraid a lot of it's been forgotten!)

Somatronic · 06/04/2022 13:48

@Boofimus I can't imagine what a shock that was today - I hope that you and your partner are OK. Great news about the egg quality though, and that they can freeze them. I hope they get to the bottom of it soon.

Thinking of all of you coming to the end of the TWW. So hard when it gets to this stage. Keep the faith!

Boofimus · 06/04/2022 14:00

@ginandtonicformeplease that's interesting to hear. When we were going to have NHS, they told him to eat all the Brazil nuts, but when we lost our funding and had to go private he switched to vitamin supplements instead. Maybe the Brazil nuts need to make a repeat appearance?!

ginandtonicformeplease · 06/04/2022 14:12

@Boofimus I always think with things like Brazil nuts, what's the harm in trying?

TommieNC · 06/04/2022 14:14

@Boofimus I am so sorry you guys had such a shock. Thankfully your eggs are great quality for freezing.

My dh's sperm was garbage before our first 2 cycles and for 3 months beforehand I made him take supplements, cut his alcohol way down and change his diet. It improved enough to find some normal ones, thankfully.

AliceAbsolum · 06/04/2022 14:22

Apparently keeping the balls cool too is important. I used to tell mine off for resting his tea mug on them

HJen22 · 06/04/2022 14:25

@SamTTC I agree, the waiting after EC was the worst wait I've had to date!!! However I didn't have the TWW yet so sure that one will be just as insanely difficult.

@Boofimus I'm so sorry to hear what's happened to you today, what a shock and stress that must have been. Why is it such huge curve balls come into this, there's so much to worry about in general and then something happens that maybe didn't even pop into your head. So so glad that they are of good quality for freezing, I hope you can find some comfort in that, and there is still hope. Can't imagine how hard a day it's been for you both; I hope you are both ok and sending lots of love and support x

I hope you ladies near the end of the TWW are hanging in there. Not long now! I have every single finger and toe crossed, I really hope we get some more good news in our thread 💕

My OH has tested positive for Covid today bless him. I'm negative for now but doubt it will stay that way! Xx

AliceAbsolum · 06/04/2022 16:57

@HJen22 Oh no, poor OH. Is it bad? Hopefully you'll both be asymptomatic! Good time to get it in a way though...

Jampot36 · 06/04/2022 17:15

@Boofimus so sorry that must have been so stressful for you. I know a few people who have looked into diet for sperm count and i think it makes you feel a little more like you're doing something proactive, can do no harm!

@HJen22 quarantine him to 1 room if you can...hope he's not too bad.

Iwouldlikesomecake · 06/04/2022 17:16

I too am an egg collector today- we thought I only had 3 good follicles and actually they got 4 eggs! The small one caught up. So now it’s a wait to see if icsi works…

@Boofimus sorry about the sperm- Hopefully there will be something in second sample?

Boofimus · 06/04/2022 17:32

@Iwouldlikesomecake nope second sample was a dud too. Now gotta wait two weeks for a follow up appointment. Sigh.

LuckyNovember · 06/04/2022 18:07

That sucks @Boofimus 😐
I'm sorry you've had such a rough day... I like to think I'd spin it as an (accidental) egg banking cycle! More likely I'd be half way through a bottle of wine and cursing the world... this whole process is shite, like @HJen22 said, the curve balls are ridiculously out of control... but today you're up by 3 good quality eggs, and that is good news ☺️

HJen22 · 06/04/2022 18:17

@AliceAbsolum his symptoms seem similar to man flu, including the moaning haha. He wasn't great Monday and yesterday but we thought he was just rough from a football day out and him getting too old for it. He woke up today with a bad cough though so we knew it was likely. He's been working but shouldn't be really. Shame as we were meant to have his daughter up next week and that will either be delayed a few days til he gets 2 negatives or won't happen at all.

Have you had a better afternoon after a tough morning? Hope keeping busy and enjoying the last of the sun! Where do you go after Cyprus, where is the van resting at the moment?

@Jampot36 If I quarantine him I have to wait on him hand and foot haha. But we've spent the last 2 days both here so if I'm gonna get it I'm gonna get it I suppose. I have a friend who stayed away for her OH and still got it, but then others who didn't get it when their OH did. So strange!

PMAmostofthetime · 06/04/2022 19:30

@Boofimus what an awful ordeal for you. Hope they sort something- I'm glad they froze your eggs. Awful wait for you now though :(. Has he been using a hot tub or sauna recently?

@Jampot36 I've watched that whilst in stims it was good!

@AliceAbsolum what's the time difference there? What time are you testing tomorrow?

@Iwouldlikesomecake that's great news, how are you feeling?

@Boofimus @Iwouldlikesomecake remember to drink loads of water after EC.

@HJen22 That sucks it's everywhere atm. At least it won't affect your call tomorrow.

X

AliceAbsolum · 06/04/2022 19:46

@PMAmostofthetime we are 2 hours ahead, so could be testing 3am uk time. Hope not! I'd like to sleep more.
Had a drink at 5pm and not drank since. I WILL have concentrated wee.

PMAmostofthetime · 06/04/2022 20:22

@AliceAbsolum that's dedication! I will be eagerly awaiting your update or do we have to wait for Sunday?- 🤞🏼

What time is your flight? Where have you left the Van, have you planned the next few weeks/months? The Uk is due a heat wave next week so your back at the right time.

Very random question? Does the Van have a name?

X

wegotthis100 · 06/04/2022 20:48

Hi everyone, hope it's okay for me to join in, this is my first post, currently 6dp5dt FET. I have been driving myself mad with symptom spotting. I've had cramping for 3 days that feels like AF, i'm trying to stay positive. Determined to wait until official test day on Monday but my goodness this is hard.

PMAmostofthetime · 06/04/2022 21:00

Hi @wegotthis100 I'm 7dp5dt I had one early blast and one morula transferred as nine made it to blast. My OTD is the 13th also driving myself insane- never had 2 weeks dragged so much in my life.

Progesterone has also kicked my but and turned me into a spotty, unmotivated grumpy teenager x

PMAmostofthetime · 06/04/2022 21:25

None made it to blast- it would be a miracle of 9 did seems I only had 8 eggs in the first place 🙈

AliceAbsolum · 06/04/2022 21:35

@PMAmostofthetime No way, you ladies will be the first to know tomorrow!
Plan is to stay outside DHs parents in the van for a couple of days. Then very luckily for us they're going on a 3 week cruise, and we are house sitting, so that'll be good.
The van is amazing when you're traveling, throwing open the doors in the morning in the middle of the Alps for months on end. But in cold wet weather in residential parts of the UK it's not so fun.
If it's a bfn we will probably just come back in May and do the same thing over again. Our EU visa resets early June so we can't go back in until then anyway (serendipity - Cyprus isn't part of the Schengen zone).
The van does have a name, we're filming the intro tomorrow so I'll try and remember to say it just for you 😋
You're 7dp! Getting there, getting there. You waiting until the 13th?
