@tulipsandsnow Well done on your ET! The wait is painful. If I could fall asleep for 2 weeks I would lol or that lovely anaesthetic they used at ET for the duration 🥲

@crazycatlady1981 Thank you, Good luck for tomorrow 💓

womaninkent · 19/02/2022 18:54

@Mochii thats amazing. Fingers crossed for the line to get darker

womaninkent · 19/02/2022 19:59

@Mochii by the way I've read in quite a few places that frozen embryos tend to implant later than in fresh rounds!

NaomiNatNat · 19/02/2022 20:24

@Mochii I'm so happy for you congratulations! 🥳🥳🥳 Given me so much hope xx

crazycatlady1981 · 19/02/2022 21:54

@Mochii OMG!! 🎉🥳 that’s amazing news! How many days past transfer are you now?

Mochii · 20/02/2022 00:52

Thanks everyone!

As much as I am all for constant testing, this is an example of why you should wait for OTD and why I should have listened to @Bluehawaii29!! I am 8dpo6dt and at 10am I still had a negative test.

My OTD isn’t actually until Monday, but I called the clinic yesterday to ask for all my test results so I could try and get clomid prescribed. I discussed with them if there was any chance I could be pregnant and whether I should actually just stop the medication now. They said I could stop now if I wanted to but it was so close to the end I should just take them anyway. They put my notes forward to their weekly meeting where they discuss what needs to be changed for further rounds/which tests are needed and said to do a urine pregnancy test if my period doesn’t show. Other than that I didn’t need to call them back or anything and they would phone me to arrange my session with the doctor, and that they were sorry that things hadn’t worked out on this round. I even said to her ‘there is no chance I am pregnant anymore is there as it’s completely white and I’ve tested daily’ and she said I don’t think it would be possible anymore, I’m sorry.

The upside to my early tests is that I always wanted a surprise positive and I really got one!

Mochii · 20/02/2022 00:56

8dp6dt that should say, not dpo, incase that causes confusion

NaomiNatNat · 20/02/2022 08:14

@Mochii This is exciting! Did you have any symptoms at all?

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 08:26

@Mochii aww this is great news! Yeah I had heard of late implantation so that why it’s so important to wait till OTD as the anxiety and upset of seeing negative tests early is not worth the heart break. I was desperately praying for a late bloomer on my first cycle but sadly the test remained negative. Hoping your little embaby sticks and keeps going xx

xreadytoglow · 20/02/2022 08:54

@Mochii oh wow!! Congratulations! 🥳 I can only imagine the feeling of seeing that positive test. That's such great news.

We had our call just earlier. We are transferring today a 4ab. Then we have a 3bb, 3bc & 4bc that he will freeze. And there's two still showing some growth that he said he'll give another day and potentially freeze tomorrow.

So full steam ahead for our 4ab at 12pm. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

tulipsandsnow · 20/02/2022 09:00

To play devil's advocate I think it depends on your personality- for me going into my first FET in November, I knew the stress of knowing I was potentially missing an early chemical would be worse to me than the stress of seeing negatives each day. Sure enough, I got a positive on afternoon of 4dp6dt, lines got stronger each day and then disappeared totally by night of 8dp6dt. I'm so grateful I tested early otherwise would have never known. Diagnostically it can be useful to know if implanting and chemical vs no implant. But I think its a personal choice rather than a blanket 'everyone should try to wait to test!'. Most clinics will advise containing meds for that extra couple days I think just because of outliers?

tulipsandsnow · 20/02/2022 09:02

@xreadytoglow that's exciting! Is this your first transfer or have you done cycles before?x

xreadytoglow · 20/02/2022 09:08

@tulipsandsnow this is my first one! 😊

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 09:09

@tulipsandsnow yeah I totally what you mean because I really felt pregnant soon after my transfer with a 5AA, had heightened sense of smell, gagging on toothpaste, change in taste, craving salty foods etc. I honestly believe for those few days I might have been pregnant but because I never tested I’ll never know. Wish I could have that reassurance of knowing if it had tried to implant at least. They told me it is more likely the embryo was abnormal but I’m just taking no chances with my lining this time and that’s another reason why we are using embryo glue on this one

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 09:11

@xreadytoglow well done for getting through your first cycle and good frozen ones too! Wishing you a very smooth and painless transfer and enjoy being PUPO, take it easy xxx
Just a quick question, did they tell you what your lining thickness is day of transfer?

xreadytoglow · 20/02/2022 09:13

@Bluehawaii29 thank you!
I intend to ask for sure. At my scan on day 8 I was at 10mm I think. I'll find out and let you know if you want? x

tulipsandsnow · 20/02/2022 09:14

@xreadytoglow good luck! 4ab is a really good grade :) fingers crossed you also get a couple more to freeze tmrrw x

tulipsandsnow · 20/02/2022 09:17

@Bluehawaii29 wow so early to potentially have strong symptoms! But definitely possible! I guess they assume it was abnormal because 5AA is such a 'perfect' grade so if was normal very likely to work?

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 09:21

@tulipsandsnow yeah definitely I felt weird for getting these symptoms and when I used to ask the nurses they would just say must be the progesterone but I didn’t remember having those symptoms between egg collection and transfer when taking the pessaries, was only a couple days after transfer that it started becoming more noticeable and I was told it was a hatching 5AA blastocyst so implantation would have happened very quick. It possibly could have been abnormal because it’s rate of growth appears to have been faster than the others which were all frozen at BB grades. It’s very strange how one took off so fast but we genuinely thought it had a high potential so was very disappointing when it didn’t work. Guess it’s onwards and upwards and hoping our BBs pull through for us x

womaninkent · 20/02/2022 10:19

@Mochii I'm a bit surprised the clinic told you that. Everything I have read says it takes 1 to 5 days for the embryo to implant and a few days for the HCG to get high enough to be detectable. It seems very plausible to get a BFP 8 days after transfer.

crazycatlady1981 · 20/02/2022 10:22

I’m official PUPO with 2 embies!! 🥳🎉
We had grade 1,2 and grade 2,3 blastocysts! (1 is top grade at my clinic)
Our third embryo is at morula stage so they are leaving it to see if it makes blast tomorrow!

Mochii · 20/02/2022 10:37

Nope I had no symptoms. I’m surprised my clinic told me that as well but last time they told me I had 8 embryos to freeze when I was in the chair for transfer and I actually had 1 with none to freeze at that point, thought I had medical treatments in my teenage years when I hadn’t, phoned me up about heart systems I had reported but they had as they called the wrong person on the list and on top of that didn’t think I had OHSS when I ended up in hospital. I imagine they just didn’t read my notes properly as she said at one point about 2 failed cycles, which isn’t the case either. I only went with them again as it was easier than finding a new clinic and moving the embryo as I thought it wouldn’t work anyway. I’m just glad I had a positive in the end!

Also @tulipsandsnow I agree, I wanted to know if anything had happened early. In my other cycle it massively helped me to test early too. Just depends on what is right for the couple

Congrats @crazycatlady1981!!

lucymills1234 · 20/02/2022 10:40

Hi all,

I hope everyone is doing ok. Congratulations to those who’ve had BFPs and I hope anyone who’s sadly had a BFN is surviving.

My last update ages ago was that I’d had a really poor normal fertilisation rate with only 3 of 13 eggs collected fertilising normally. It was an awful wait but a massive relief that I had a day 5 blast make it and a 3AB transferred. Another blast was frozen but it was only just good enough to freeze.

Transfer was tricky and I had quite a lot of discomfort early on but know it was from my ovary still being huge after EC. I’m now 8dp5dt. No positive symptoms really and I’m now getting cramping again. I worry this is a sign of a chemical. I had a chemical before - cramps on 10dp5dt, BFP the next day but then the line got fainter and I had a BFN 6 days later.

Has anyone had late cramping but gone on to have a good result?

xreadytoglow · 20/02/2022 10:42

Congrats @crazycatlady1981 !!! How exciting. You have two little potential babies in there 🥰 it's so surreal. Now for the hardest part, the waiting to test 😩😂! We're setting off in about 20 mins.. can't wait.

NaomiNatNat · 20/02/2022 11:11

Hope you find this useful. Link to site at the bottom 🙂 I'm on day 4 xx

During the days after a transfer, the following happens to the embryo:

Day 1: The blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell.
Day 2: The blastocyst continues to hatch out of its shell and begins to attach itself to the uterus.
Day 3: The blastocyst attaches deeper into the uterine lining, beginning implantation.
Day 4: Implantation continues.
Day 5: Implantation is complete. Cells that eventually become the placenta and fetus have begun to develop.
Day 6: Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), the hormone that signals a developing pregnancy, starts to enter the blood stream.
Days 7 and 8: Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted.
Day 9: Levels of hCG are now high enough in maternal blood to detect a pregnancy using a blood test.
