Hi everyone. I hope you don’t mind me jumping onto this thread. I’m currently in my 2WW (this is my 2nd transfer, first was BFN) and I was naughty and tested. I’m currently 4dp 5dt (I know it’s wayyy too early). However, I think I got a positive… it’s really faint but I can see it without having to squint or move it around in different angles (you know the drill…) Just hoping the embryo is really implanting and things go smoothly. I’ve attached the photo - what do you guys think? Also, how do you deal with the 2WW? Any suggestions welcomed as I’m literally driving myself crazy by googling everything!!!

Morning

BFN for me again, heartbroken. Just gonna take some time and who knows I could be back in the next thread for another FET when I'm ready

Sending tons of baby dust to everyone !! Hope to hear lots of good news !

EasterBunny7 · 09/03/2022 09:42

Hi @Millymillymillymillymilly and @IVFGotThis05

Some people have moved over to the new, continuation thread so you might not get responses here!

@millymillymillymilly
That looks like a line to me! Congratulations, and on 4dp5dt too! Was this a fresh or frozen transfer? I'm sure you know that you need to be cautious about hcg trigger giving a false in a fresh transfer. Keeping fingers crossed for you!

@ivfgothis5
So sorry to hear about your bfn. I can only empathise what you are currently going through. Give yourself some time to get over the loss, take it easy: eat to your heart's content, binge watch tv, avoid people if you feel like it! Just take some time out for you.

Millymillymillymillymilly · 09/03/2022 09:47

Ah! Thanks @EasterBunny7!

Yes, it was FET so no trigger :) I’ll move this to the other thread. Thanks for letting me know.

Bluehawaii29 · 09/03/2022 12:29

@IVFGotThis05 aww I’m really sorry to hear about the result. You did so well to make it to OTD without testing. It’s just so unpredictable what the result is going to be. I hope you are coping ok and took some time to yourself today. Keep in touch xx

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 08/04/2022 07:09

Hiya everyone, hope you are all doing ok? Just hoping for a bit of advise....

So after getting a wonderful consultation with Dr Thanos on Monday he has recommended a new direction. I am now starting a fresh cycle of IVF, but with the plan to do a natural frozen cycle after. He has recommended some tests before the natural cycle, but they are expensive and intrusive, and even he didn't sound particularly confident they would offer answers to my multiple miscarriages. But that they could..... so what experience do you ladies have of the following;

Endometrio – endometrial receptivity testing and culture Hysteroscopy
Endometrial scratching

Bacteriology/Virology/Immunology Covid-19
Lupus anticoagulant

Cytogenetic/Cytology
Karyotyping/cystic fibrosis/Y-deletion (together)

Any info, personal experience, thoughts are massively appreciated.... we are self funded and looking a a further £3.5k for these, which would me losing a round of IVF, worth it or not? Thanks everyone x

StillTrying10000 · 08/04/2022 07:32

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 hello, sorry you are having a tough time. Have you ever had a D&C, retained tissue or c-section that could have caused scarring? If so I'd suggest a Hysteroscopy. Did he refer to the tests as ERA, EMMA & ALICE? We have a Mumsnet group all about those, most people think ERA isn't worth it but EMMA& ALICE are as many women find their womb isn't quite right and they need antibiotics and probiotics which can make a real difference for having a successful pregnancy, the procedure also works as an Endometrial scratch- so although I would recommend the scratch you get it anyway.
Have you been tested for NK Cells? Are you already on an immune protocol? If not I'd recommend these and going to a clinic like CRP clinic for them. I'm not sure why Immunology Covid-19 is of interest and Lupus anticoagulant sounds like an immune test but not the all important Natural Killer cell test.
Are the tests Cytogenetic etc on the embroyo? I like to always get my embryos tested but not everyone does, I'd rather pay for the test than another failed IVF cycle. You may find this podcast worth a listen podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-fertility-method-connecting-you-with/id1613615538?i=1000555426953
They also have an episode by an embryologist all about testing embroyo a.
Good luck xxx

Hey @StillTrying10000 nope never had any problems like that, and my lining always gets 5 stars at every scan. I first start having miscarriages at 18, and I have also had a miscarriage after IVF recently too, hence why they are recommending these tests, but they are expensive and I don't want to waste money and time if they aren't going to provide answers. Yes the main test is £1500, and that's ERA, ALICE and EMMA all in one. I will also have to travel nearly 2 hours just to get to the clinic that will do it :-/ I really wanted NK testing but my clinic don't do it, and don't treat for it either :-/ what is immune protocol? Thank you for your time x

StillTrying10000 · 08/04/2022 07:59

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 it sounds like you could possibly have an NK Cell issue by the sounds of it. It's more likely than what the other tests are looking for. It would really be worth you trying to get tested for them if you can. That podcast will explain it all and how the different clinics test in different ways. Immune protocol is the treatment they give you when you have high NK Cells. It includes hydroxychloroquine, prednisolone, and some people have intralipids. Many women who have had recurrent MC have success on their first cycle from the treatment x

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 08/04/2022 08:09

@StillTrying10000 my clinic aren't offering the meds due to covid. Apparently nowhere in England can atm? Do you have a link the the emma Alice page, as can't seem to find it x

StillTrying10000 · 08/04/2022 09:36

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 what an odd thing for them to say, lots of women are being treated at the moment.
I'd recommend the CRP Clinic who will test and treat you crpclinic.co.uk They also do Emma/Alice tests for £895. You can read about them here:
www.igenomix.eu/genetic-solutions/

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 08/04/2022 12:37

@StillTrying10000 thank you for all the info, will have a look through.... I emailed the clinic to question steroids, they are still saying "We have not had any changes from the HFEA
allowing us to start using Corticosteroids again at this stage.", it's so frustrating, as they just don't care! I would happily sign a disclaimer or something... plus they won't even test to see if it would help me :( I live in Great Yarmouth, so miles away from all other clinics too :(

StillTrying10000 · 08/04/2022 13:00

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 Oww that's awful. I know CRP have some women who come all the way from Scotland! CRP do sometimes do consultations over Zoom and you can now get intralipids at home now through thefertilitypharmacy.com/2020/11/18/intralipid-infusion-from-the-fertility-pharmacys-nurse-at-home-service/ but you'd need a prescription from somewhere like CRP. Good luck! x

DaffodilSunshine · 08/04/2022 13:23

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 I'm currently 9 weeks following a FET. I had my treatment abroad but I had NK cell testing done here with the Coventry clinic for repeated implantation failure. They recommended prednisolone which I'm currently on. Their only concern was ensuring that I was fully vaccinated and boosted for covid as otherwise they wouldn't recommend them

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 08/04/2022 13:23

@StillTrying10000 that's amazing to know. I will defo look into it x

Tiger86 · 08/05/2022 16:50

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 not sure if your still on this thread or there is an updated thread somewhere just logged in to see how your getting on? Did you get your testing done? Hope your doing fine and have some dates for starting your new fresh cycle soon.

I was supposed to have a FET this cycle but just got cancelled the other day as I was on a medicated cycle but on the scan showed I am still growing an active follicle and will ovulate anyway. Nothing ever goes to plan foes it!!! Anyway now just waiting for my next period and doing a natural FET next cycle which is better for me as these last meds prognova did not agree with me at all. Totally wiped out last week low energy and made me feel sick. It is funny how you never want to see your period when trying to conceive but can't wait for it to arrive when waiting to start IVF!
