@Mochii I would have done same thing and just stayed with nightmare clinic just for last embryo transfer before moving, if I didn't think transfer had much chance of working! So exciting you have a BFP. Did you say it was a 4CC? xx

tulipsandsnow · 20/02/2022 11:37

@NaomiNatNat useful info!
Note that it does vary though with outliers- for example last FET I had positive test on day 4 after transfer, so probably an early implanter! Have also heard of positive day 3, but very rare I think.
Based on the guide you posted hCG starting to release day 6, no one would ever get positives until day 6, but its very common to get first positive day 5 :)

MollyVanDer · 20/02/2022 11:38

Congratulations @Mochii how exciting!!

I've been absent for a little while on this forum whilst we prepared for our third cycle. Second one, clinic made poor decisions and ended up compensating us which although disappointing I suppose sometimes nurses make errors.

I have my baseline scan tomorrow and have started my bleed today after northisterone. Anyone have any advice for going to a scan with AF? Feeling not good about it :/

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 11:40

Prob a dumb question but how do people cut pineapple cores? No shops sell just the core and we are not sure what we are meant to be doing with a whole pineapple

MollyVanDer · 20/02/2022 11:46

@Bluehawaii29 try this www.jessicagavin.com/how-to-cut-a-pineapple/

But eat the core instead of throwing it :)

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 11:55

@MollyVanDer thank you :) good to see you back! If I remember correctly your clinic messed up on timing of your egg collection? What are they going to be doing different this time? X

MollyVanDer · 20/02/2022 12:03

@Bluehawaii29 they did and gave me extra meds and a two day wait even when I was already at 20-24mm follicle size!

My first cycle was short and I responded better with meriofert so we are going back to short.

AMH of 6.7 so not sure whether this is good or bad but just rolling with it....

Anyone else on short?

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 12:17

@MollyVanDer I was on short protocol, the medication was upped after a week after I had several follicles lagging behind but a few dominant follicles, then the caught up and managed to get 8 good eggs, 7 fertilised, 5 blastocyst. Seemed like it was dragging at the time, 12 days on stims altogether but worth it. Maybe short will be better for you xx

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 20/02/2022 13:03

Hey everyone, so I am getting a 5CB transferred Thursday, it's not a great grading at all, has anyone had a live birth from such a shitty grade? Unsure why they have frozen it tbh, feel pretty pointless :( x

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 13:12

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 hey are you sure that’s a bad grade? Normally they wouldn’t freeze it unless they saw potential. Did you know about the grading prior to freezing? Try not to get down about it as it’s still hatching if it’s a 5?

tulipsandsnow · 20/02/2022 13:24

I've seen studies where they split up morphology by Gardner excellent, good, average, and poor where poor is usually defined as: 1BC, 2BC, 3BC, 4BC, 5BC, 6BC, 1CB, 2CB, 3CB, 4CB, 5CB, 6CB, 1CC, 2CC, 3CC, 4CC, 5CC, 6CC,1BB, and 2BB, and they still have decent success rates. So I think the 'why they freeze these' is because there is proof that sometimes they work, even if the rate is lower than the other gradings! If there's nothing else to transfer, some chance is better than none surely? x

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 20/02/2022 13:31

Due to the payment plan with access fertility I am with I have to use all embryos before I can do another collection. In all honesty I naively thought I wouldn't need this one, and I hadn't looked at what the grading meant until now. Yes it obviously has some chance, but it's not showing as very good :-/ too late to do anything now, but it's my last chance before another EC, which I found really traumatic and was hoping to avoid x

womaninkent · 20/02/2022 13:48

Hi @lucymills1234 I had such bad cramping at 7/8 dpt that I was crying to my husband it hadn't worked and was googling how much the next round was going to cost, and I got a BFP. I haven't had the viability scan yet but the line has got darker in the week since so I don't think it's a chemical.
@ExhaustedPigeon1988 we've just got a positive with a 2-3BB. Like you I wondered why they bothered freezing it and was even thinking should I just not bother and move straight to a fresh round. But it is worth remembering grades vary quite a bit between embryologists-and they wouldn't bother freezing it if they didn't see potential. Once ours defrosted and started expanding the embryologist at the transfer reckoned it was more like an AA so it might get better after defrosting. There's some helpful stuff on Reddit under ask an embryologist which calmed me down when I was feeling like you are. Best of luck!

Mochii · 20/02/2022 13:49

@tulipsandsnow yep it’s a 6 day 4cc! Wasn’t developed enough by day 5 so was left an extra day.

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 my 4bb was successful and the fact yours is a 5 sounds promising to me!

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 20/02/2022 14:06

Thanks ladies, think I am getting cold feet now it's so close, and after the dram of the last time maybe I should have given myself more time rather than being my usual stubborn self lol- too late to worry now I guess... so nice to start seeing some positives coming through again :) x

MollyVanDer · 20/02/2022 14:21

@Bluehawaii29 thank you. Did you try long and then go back to short?

If I remember right you're on freeze all PGT cycles? How's everything going?

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 14:36

@MollyVanDer no didn’t do any PGT, just one fresh cycle with an antagonist protocol (short) and that was it, this current one is my first fet with 2 of the 4BBs. Have second scan tomorrow to see where the lining is by but been taking 8mg oestrogen daily instead of 6mg since Friday now

MollyVanDer · 20/02/2022 14:42

@Bluehawaii29 good quality in the freezer. Now I understand why you're interested in carving pineapple cores - I'm lucky that I've always managed a good lining just an AMH of 6 means lower eggs generated and 37 so quality deteriorating.

I hear yoga is good for lining - moving with gravity positions. Hope your scan goes well tomorrow x

Bluehawaii29 · 20/02/2022 14:50

@MollyVanDer thanks for the advice, I’m trying the pineapple cores today but not looking good for yoga still as my back is still not quite there after it gave way on Thursday. Still lying down mostly but moving around house. Hope it does impact things too badly

Justawannabemam · 20/02/2022 15:04

Hey girls.

Wow lots has gone on since Friday

@mochii congratulations . I can believe you though you were out just goes to show this is so unpredictable.

Still feeling massive over here. My boobs feel so tender and full like. And my stomach feels bloated.

I was doing my injection this morning and the syringe blew off the needle sending progesterone everywhere. 🙈. So I didn't know how much had gone in so I done another using half of the bottle.

Hope everyone is well.

Oh great I’ve just had pineapple and now my tongue is tingling all over. Think I’ve got some kind of allergy!

xreadytoglow · 20/02/2022 16:25

I'm officially PUPO!! 🥳🥳
Very surreal and emotional, especially since they have the photograph of the emby on the screen as it's all going on.
Sonographer says lining usually goes more 'mushy' after taking the progesterone so isn't the same as when you measure before taking it but she had a look and says it looks 'excellent' so here's hoping 🤞🏼

Please please please get comfy in there and implant and stay growing for another 9 months 🤍🥺

Justawannabemam · 20/02/2022 16:34

@xreadytoglow congratulations!

When is your OTD ? Sit with your feet up, and enjoy the next 2 weeks. X

NaomiNatNat · 20/02/2022 16:54

@xreadytoglow whoop whoop! May your emby be sticky 🙂

lucymills1234 · 20/02/2022 17:07

Thank you for replying @womaninkent glad you got a BFP. Were your cramps all over? Mine seem to be more on one side. I wondered if it was digestion but doesn’t necessarily seem to correspond to when I’ve eaten.

It’s going to be a long wait til my OTD, I really want to believe this could be the one, it’s my sixth transfer. But I don’t really have any symptoms other than this cramping so it’s hard to keep hope alive Sad

Congrats @xreadytoglow I hope your tww passes smoothly.

@Bluehawaii29 I really wouldn’t be concerned if pineapple is not for you, there’s a lack of any research on lots of the things people talk about like pineapple, fries, etc. If they definitely worked, they’d be standard recommendations from your clinic! So I’d not stress so long as you’re eating a healthy balanced diet.

I’ve been cleaning the house today to try to distract myself from the cramps but ready to call that a day Brew
