@IE00 11dp is when I usually test and then do one on 14dpt just to confirm for the clinic as that my OTD so I think with a FRER that should prove conclusive!

Mochii · 18/02/2022 12:37

@crazycatlady1981 thanks, it sounds like it is that one! I was hoping it would be about £100 😂😂 I’ve only had one implantation in about 4 1/2 years. Have you had any other tests done?

womaninkent · 18/02/2022 12:39

@IE00 in my cycle that didn't work I tested on the OTD. They told me to stick on the meds and retest two days later.

foodiefil · 18/02/2022 13:37

@Cayandsimit @crazycatlady1981
Thanks both. I do love yoga so I’ll do some in the morning.
I’ve been taking all my vits but not fish oil and having a protein shake every day.
I tried to eat lots of avocado too but didn’t keep it up.
I didn’t know about pomegranate and Brazil nuts! Do chocolate covered ones count? 😆

TTCinmy40s · 18/02/2022 14:38

It was my test day today and it was a negative unfortunately. So that's me done for this one. I'm going to try again in a few months. I have tried so hard not to get covid for months now due to appointments at the clinic, not wanting to get long covid etc, and I have found the IVF process very overwhelming as it was my first time and I think my clinic was really blase about stuff and didn't really explain things properly. So I'm going to go and enjoy myself for a couple of months starting with going out tonight for a meal and my friends wedding reception tomorrow.

I'm on my own trying to conceive at nearly 42. I wasn't that happy with the way my clinic dealt with things, has anyone had any really good experiences at their clinics?

Really good luck to everyone still going. I'll have all my fingers crossed for you all that it's good news at each stage. For anyone who doesn't have the luck with them this time, maybe see you again for another round in the future. I have really appreciated being on here with everyone going through the same thing xx

foodiefil · 18/02/2022 14:57

@TTCinmy40s so sorry to hear your news. It takes so much from you, you don’t feel like yourself anymore. I hope you get yourself back for a few months starting with tonight and tomorrow! My clinic is in the North East and have been good but I had a friend who was an embryologist who used to work there and she suggested moving clinics if I didn’t like them after a while. Have a look at local clinics and see if they have google reviews? Good luck and enjoy your weekend xxx

TTCinmy40s · 18/02/2022 15:15

Thanks @foodiefil yes, I really feel I need to get some life and enjoyment back into me, and hopefully feel in a better place for next time.
Good luck with your transfer tomorrow, exciting.

WhiteLily86 · 18/02/2022 15:26

So sorry to hear your update @TTCinmy40s look after yourself x

xreadytoglow · 18/02/2022 15:40

I'm so sorry @TTCinmy40s
Take care of yourself and enjoy that time to let your hair down for a bit until you're ready to get back on the rollercoaster again.. 🤍

thislittlebird · 18/02/2022 15:42

@Justawannabemam thanks for the new thread!

Embryologist called today and I feel like I rushed off the phone because she was confirming with me that we had four frozen. I feel bad now that I didn't ask any questions about grades or quality but I wasn't really thinking at the time beyond she's confirmed what I was told yesterday, essentially.

thislittlebird · 18/02/2022 15:43

That's great news on the blasts @crazycatlady1981!

thislittlebird · 18/02/2022 15:49

Sorry about the bad news @TTCinmy40s. Where are you based? I will say my clinic has been good and if we need another round I'd happily use their private arm.

IE00 · 18/02/2022 16:09

@womaninkent and I'm assuming the result was the same? 7 days seems a long time

Cayandsimit · 18/02/2022 16:43

@ttcinmy40s I am so sorry that it wasn't a success this time. IVF is such a lonely process. Covid risk on top of it just takes a toll on you...
I hope you can enjoy the life from now on. Going out with friends, eating whatever you want and having some drinks always a good idea. Wish you best of luck in the future tries 💐

womaninkent · 18/02/2022 16:43

@IE00 yes it was the same-I can understand asking to retest in 2 days, I agree 7 days seems odd.
@TTCinmy40s so sorry to hear this.

Bluehawaii29 · 18/02/2022 17:52

@TTCinmy40s hi I’m really sorry to hear your round didn’t work. Hope you can have a break and come up with a plan for the next try xx
We’ve spent most of the afternoon filling up the big Bertha bean bag, why can’t life be easy, all the polystyrene balls were flying everywhere! But finally my back has got some relief lying on it in front of the fire with my hot water bottle. Wish I could stay like this forever!
Also my scan has now been moved from weds to Monday, got a call from the nurse saying it was fully booked on weds and they could fit me in Monday instead so I just took it even though it’s only 2 days away! Not sure how my lining is meant to be 1mm thicker by then but oh well.
How is everyone coping with storm Eunice. It’s been bad here and stuff flying around on the road. Luckily no damage to property so far
Hope everyone has a lovely, relaxing weekend and may next week be a good one xx

TTCinmy40s · 18/02/2022 21:51

Thank you so much everyone.

@thislittlebird I'm in the South about an hour West of London. My closest clinic geographically is Oxford.

@cayandsimit yes covid has definitely added to the stress!

@bluehawaii29 glad your back is a bit better. A few trees are down here but no damage to houses that I've seen.

Mochii · 18/02/2022 22:15

@TTCinmy40s I am in the same location and also have a rubbish clinic. Someone told me Agora in Hove is good, but it’s a bit of a journey

tulipsandsnow · 18/02/2022 22:37

Hi all I've got ET tomorrow, test date March 1st but I'll be using FRERs from Feb 23rd!

Getting nervous as the consultant doing my transfer tmrrw is one of the only consultants in entire (large) clinic I haven't me, and he's male and I think the director of the clinic, but to me that's not a positive as his bedside manner may not be great and that's the most important thing as I need patience with transfer/someone really kind!

Frenchiepupmama · 19/02/2022 00:00

@tulipsandsnow I hope everything goes OK tomorrow for ET, i had male consultant and i hadnt met him before until that appointment for transfer and I'm sure he was also high up with company.

After the nurses checked me in, I as was my first ET I was really nervous as I really struggle even with smears so I had mentioned is it possible to have a smaller speculum requested.

She had passed on info and the consultant came in to introduce himself and he was really lovely and nurse had kindly passed message on to him and said wasnt a problem and he understands they are not the most comfortable but once in place it should be OK and was happy to use smaller one.

He put me at ease and I was surprised how well I managed.

Hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow for you 💞

NaomiNatNat · 19/02/2022 06:05

@tulipsandsnow Good luck for today 🤞 my otd is 28th Feb but I've been testing every morning since et day as it helps me accept reality and not obsess with symptom spotting. May it be a sticky bean for you! Xx

Justawannabemam · 19/02/2022 07:01

@NaomiNatNat are you still getting 2 lines or has the trigger gone ?

OP posts:
NaomiNatNat · 19/02/2022 07:22

@Justawannabemam still positive today 🤷🏼‍♀️I'm using those cheapo tests as well. if it is the trigger lingering then it us mighty strong. Have you tested recently?

womaninkent · 19/02/2022 07:58

@tulipsandsnow good luck. If I'm honest the consultants carrying out the ET have not had great bedside manner for me but it's always been ok because of the lovely nurses who are very kind and talk you through it. Tell them if you are nervous. Good luck.

Justawannabemam · 19/02/2022 08:04

@tulipsandsnow good luck today Im Sure they'll be fine. Try and relax.

@NaomiNatNat I've done one this morning very faint line I think this would be expected at 5 dpt I don't have anymore left now and I'm not going to get any until Friday night to do Saturday morning. We have got to drive 2.5 hours to the clinic for bloods so it would be a long drive knowing it was negative. They won't accept a test.
