FET November/ December

Hi,

I'm not sure if there is already a thread open for a FET in November / December.

I was due to have a FET last week however after having two lining scans, I tested positive for coronavirus 🙄. I should now be having a FET after my next bleed (mid November) and hopefully a FET early December. Would be great to chat you others on a similar timeline. X

Hi @Prayingforabubba oh no sorry to hear you tested positive for covid how are you now?

I am starting fet end of November so my transfer is January. @twinmummy15 and @lauradxoxo theses lovely ladies are November/December fet I think they may be on a similar timeline to you.

What day of your cycle do you start day 1 or day 21? Xxx

FET2021 · 28/10/2021 08:12

Hi @Prayingforabubba I'm starting my next FET on next cycle, which is due around mid Nov, so hopefully transfer will be very end of Nov/beginning of Dec.
Sorry to see your tested positive. Must've been so frustrating and upsetting. Sad we have to worry about this on top of everything else!

Good luck @Prayingforabubba @Lotusflower1990000 🤞🏼🍀

Lotusflower1990000 · 28/10/2021 09:25

Hi @FET2021 thank you you too! your cycle seems so much shorter then mine I am down reg for 2 weeks on day 21 of my cycle and then 2 weeks of drugs to build my lining and then transfer a week later around 5 6 weeks what cycle day do you start your medication? Xxx

Twinmummy15 · 28/10/2021 10:32

Thanks @Lotusflower1990000 for adding me to this thread. @FET2021 I'm due to start first week of Nov for FET. Day 1 is when I start the mess and then trnasfer should be approx 3 weeks later. And OTD will be early Dec.

I'm.so sorry to hear you tested postive for Covid. How annoying!

I will keep you updated on my cycle. Hoping we all get our miracles by Xmas! Xx

FET2021 · 28/10/2021 20:12

@Lotusflower1990000 thank you!
I'm going off my last FET and I started meds on day 1 and had transfer around day 21.
Hoping we'll have luck this time🤞🏼 xxx

@Twinmummy15 good luck!
Sounds like you're just ahead 😊 hoping to have good news before Xmas too. Will be hard to enjoy Xmas with family otherwise xxx

Prayingforabubba · 28/10/2021 23:30

@Lotusflower1990000 I'm okay thankfully it was very mild. I wouldn't have even realised but I have to test twice a week on the lateral flow test as I'm a teacher. That's the only way I found out! I'm shocked I had lasted this long to be honest, I knew it was coming but was very frustrating for it to come the week of transfer!

@FET2021 we should be transferring similar times fingers crossed 🤞 will this be your first transfer? I have had two retrievals but this will be my first transfer if nothing else becomes an obstacle!

@Lotusflower1990000 do you have a longer protocol? Mine is very short.. I think. I start progynova on day 2, scan on day 10 and then a possible transfer the following week. So roughly 2 weeks ish from my next bleed 🙏🏼

@Twinmummy15 your timeline seems similar ish to mine. I take it this will not be your first transfer? Assuming by your name? Maybe you can give us some tips! I only have two embryos so praying we are successful

@FET2021aww bless you I wish I had a day 1 cycle I haven’t spoken to anyone yet who is is down reg on day 21 yet I might ask my clinic why it’s so different baby dust to us all ❤️❤️

@Prayingforabubba oh no did you have any symptoms then or was it just on the off chance you tested positive? My cycle is around 6 weeks as I am starting down reg on day 21 nearly as long as my fresh! xx

@Twinmummy15 ❤️How are you? Did you find out about why a blood test was needed rather then a pregnancy test in the end? Xx

Hi @Chel93 ❤️ these are the lovely ladies on the same cycle xxx

Bb30 · 29/10/2021 10:34

Hi All! Hope you don't mind me jumping on your thread. I have my baseline scan Monday for my first ever fet. I'm a bag of nerves already! Wishing everyone the best of luck! It would just be a dream to be pregnant for Christmas!

XjustagirlX · 29/10/2021 12:05

Hi I’m having my first FET started CD1 which will be around 21 November. Transfer should then be the week starting 6 December.

I’m hoping I don’t have a late ovulation as my clinic shuts for a week over Christmas so if Transfer is that week then it will have to be delayed. I’ve been waiting since start of august EC. I had to do a freeze all due to ohss and then I delayed by an extra month to get my second Covid jab.

OTD would be around Christmas Day. I’m torn between waiting until after Christmas. It could be the best it the worst.

Lotusflower1990000 · 29/10/2021 13:08

@Bb30 me too! I am slightly behind you all but so exciting and nervous at the same time how amazing would it be for Xmas to have that positive! What cycle day are you starting? Are you down regging? Or straight onto the prep for your lining? xx

Hi @XjustagirlX it’s such a tough decision because like you’ve said it would be great if it worked but if it didn’t it’s just devastating if your really stressed I would say wait because then your body is relaxed for the transfer but it’s so hard because if your like me you will want to transfer ASAP xxx

Bb30 · 29/10/2021 14:42

@Lotusflower1990000 I think I'm starting day 2 on estrogen for 10-12 days then if my lining is good enough I'll be starting Progesterone injections for a few days and then transfer probably around 23rd November. Fingers crossed it all works out.

What are people doing about work? My gp said bed rest would give me the best chance and I should avoid sitting at a desk for long periods of time. I took the first week off for my fresh transfer but worked for the 2nd week and I was a bag of nerves working... worried I was getting stressed, worried I wasn't minding myself etc etc. Tempted to get signed off for my fet but then I feel a bit guilty for letting my team down. I work from home full time so I already have it easy!

Lotusflower1990000 · 29/10/2021 14:56

@Bb30 I’m working from home too I took 2 weeks off for my fresh felt like it was a bit of a waste for me so I’m only taking the days off I need for going into the clinic this time round i think if I feel sick on the day after the fet then I will call in sick 🤒 xxx

FET2021 · 29/10/2021 19:06

@Prayingforabubba yes, should be very close 🤞🏼
No, this will be my second FET. Had ivf in March and my FET in July, which unfortunately ended with BFN.
Hopefully everything goes well with your cycle and transfer 🤞🏼

@Lotusflower1990000 I'm not sure why the Cd differ with different people. Worth asking though. Yes, fingers crossed for us all 😘💗

@Bb30 good luck! 🍀🤞🏼
I'll just take a couple days off work for day of transfer and day after. Apparently, new research says that you should keep active but not to do anything excessive. I guess different clinics will have different opinions. Just do what you feel is best I'd say.

@XjustagirlX good luck to you too 🍀🤞🏼
It is tough will Xmas close to OTD. Mine will be around mid dec (providing everything goes well and I get to transfer obviously), but the result will still make a difference to our mental health over Xmas and will struggle with family and babies if it's bad news!

Agapanthus13 · 29/10/2021 20:48

Hi all, hope you don’t mind me joining in? I’ll be starting my FET cd1 either November or December, (not quite sure how the dates will work with Xmas).

Can I ask- Is anyone else going to be taking intramuscular progesterone injections, or taken them before? I’m feeling rather anxious about them, I keep reminding myself that others manage and so it must be doable?

Bb30 · 29/10/2021 23:12

@Agapanthus13 I'll be on the progesterone injections too. Its my first time so I don't have any insight or advice but my consultant said the injections ensure a higher absorption rate. I had pessaries for my fresh transfer and I found them awful so I'm happy with the swap to injections. Hopefully they're not too sore!!

Agapanthus13 · 30/10/2021 07:50

@Bb30 many thanks for your reply! Sorry to hear you didn’t have a very good experience with the pessaries. Yes, I read the injections are meant to be good for absorption too, which I guess is the most important thing. I was fine doing the injections for egg collection etc, but might have to teach my husband to do these ones for me… Have you stated taking any of your other meds yet? I’m on the short protocol & hopefully starting on the 11th (fingers crossed). Good luck & hope you get on ok with the jabs!

XjustagirlX · 30/10/2021 07:59

Im booking the day of transfer off work and the day after. It’s also my birthday the same week which I slwsys book off anyway so hopefully it overlaps.

One of the reasons I delayed to december was because I really wanted to be off work after transfer and it lined up with having Christmas off. I will be in work for 1 week between transfer and Christmas holidays starting but I work from home do Im just going to take it easy. I feel a bit guilty about that but we have to put ourselves first and it’s a really important time for us.

Bb30 · 30/10/2021 10:15

@Agapanthus13 no I haven't started anything yet. I have my baseline scan Monday so hopefully that goes well and I should be able to start meds on the Thursday/Friday. I'm on the pill currently so it makes managing a cycle so much easier! Best of luck to you too. Fingers crossed we're all pregnant for Christmas!!

@XjustagirlX great idea delaying to use your time off at Christmas! My clinic closes early / mid Dec so I need to bet started ASAP. It's so annoying cause I have 3 weeks off anyway at Xmas so it would have been perfect. But I'll take transfer day off and then just take it easy for the 2 week wait. Feeling the guilt already but as you said, we need to put ourselves first! Best of luck!

Prayingforabubba · 31/10/2021 00:55

@Lotusflower1990000 I have to test twice a week on a lateral flow for work so that's how I found out. I was so shocked 😩 I had a tight chest but I often have that as have asthma. £400 out of pocket as it was a cancelled cycle 😞

@Bb30 goodluck for your baseline scan tomorrow! I will be teaching and it's so stressful for me as I'm in a team with a very incompetent team. I've had so much time off work for a cancelled cycle and two retrieval cycles so I feel as though I cannot ask for more. My head teacher has been so understanding but there's only so much I can ask as I haven't even disclosed I'm doing ivf. It's hard to plan around a half term holiday as my cycles never correlate 😩

@FET2021 so sorry your first transfer failed. Fingers crossed this one will be successful

Lotusflower1990000 · 31/10/2021 11:16

Hi @Agapanthus13 welcome I was hoping they would give me the injections as I have been told my progesterone was too low for my fresh but they have just doubled the tablets they are so messy tho! I am meant to be starting down the December too so we may be on a similar timeline xxx

@Prayingforabubba it’s so unfair that the clinics put the terms in that a cancelled cycle due to covid can’t be carried over and you be up losing the money you have paid 😢 xxx

I wonder if you ladies have had the same but I had a bleed after 7dpt (failed fresh) now my period after has delayed it’s normally every 28days has anyone had the same? Xxx

Agapanthus13 · 31/10/2021 15:48

@Bb30 all the best for tomorrow! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, hopefully all will be well & you can make a start xx

Thank you @Lotusflower1990000 I’m always bamboozled by just how many different protocol versions there are! I didnt do my fresh transfer in the end, so although I was told about using the pessaries I never got onto that stage. Fingers crossed you’ll have a better experience this time round with yours!
That’s exciting if we’re on a similar time line! I’m so desperate to just get started now Xx

Novavee · 31/10/2021 18:57

Hi everyone,

I hope you don't mind if I join.

I had my first ivf cycle in September and it was a freeze due to late follicular progesterone elevation. It was frustrating at first not having a fresh transfer but I started my bleeding the day I would have had a transfer, so clealy that was the best decision. I had a follow up appointment a few weeks ago and I'm having a natural fet this cycle. I have my first scan on Monday.

@Bb30 we are on a similar timeline! Good luck for your scan tomorrow.

@Lotusflower1990000 I'm sorry your fresh transfer didn't work. After having a very short 19 day cycle when I was doing ivf, this next one was 36 days long. I'm usually 28 to 30 days, so I wouldn't worry much. Your body has beem through a lot and it's trying to go back to normal.

Faerun · 31/10/2021 19:28

Hi all,
Hope I can join too!
Hopefully having a FET early Dec. Our fresh resulted in a MMC at 7 weeks, clinic is letting us try on first period as long as the scan is fine, so just waiting to see when that is, but suspect it will be mid November.
We’re adding clexane and aspirin this time, have one day 6 blast frozen so feeling quite nervous about it all.

@Lotusflower1990000 I had the same on a previous failed fresh transfer - my next period was about 10 days late, but then they just fell into a regular cycle again.

Prayingforabubba · 31/10/2021 22:47

@Faerun so sorry to hear about your mc! I also have a day 6 embryo. All my embryos were a little slow developing and only got one blastocyst and one day 3 embryo which were frozen. 😩

@Agapanthus13 I know I wish they explained to me why I was on such a long protocol lol thank you ❤️ I hope the same for you and we all have our positives for Xmas or just after xxx

Hey @Novavee I think I remember you form the august/September I wish I had a freeze all because I don’t think my body was ready for the fresh how are you? Do you have any drugs on the natural fet? or do they go off your natural cycle completely? I’m on a medicated down reg cycle which is 6 weeks nearly thank you ❤️ I’m hoping a late start might mean I can start this cycle rather then next xxx

Hi @Faerun sorry to hear about your mc do you know what type of protocol you will be on for your fet? I am wishing the time away to start too My clinic didn’t have availability for this month for my October period so I’m hoping as it’s a little late I can start with them this month Xxx
