Hello I have been following a few ABC ivf clinic threads since beginners Ng of this year as I had my first baseline scan in Wimbledon clinic in may and had a few things to overcome before I can proceed I found the threads very helpful and comforting to follow and notice the last one ended and can't find a next one so thought I would make one ahead of my upcoming treatment soon :)

My and my partner have been trying for our first child together for 2.5years now, we both have 2 children from previous my youngest being 9 now. I have suspected mild endometriosis and adhesions following 2 ceaserean sections. And my partner has Low count so MFI. I have had a few miscarriages also.
We found ABC ivf online but never looked as didn't think was real as how much in price different it was but found these threads and encouraged me enquire etc. I had a baseline scan and was told to have an investigation done as could see a pocket of fluid in my uterus and could visably see one of my tubes on screen, also my TSH was high at 4.3. and they like it below 2.5 therefore I went away had hospital investigations and all sort from having a lap have been told I most likely have endo and adhesions but my tubes and egg and everything fertility wise looks all fine and nothing there to say why I cant conceive therefore I was prescribe levothyroxine I have taking this for the last few months. I work in a nursery term time hours so can only do a cycle when it is half terms so missed summer so now I have praying for a Christmas holiday ICIS cycle with ABC if my upcoming baseline scans and blood tests all work out. I would love to here anyone else's experiences expecially at Wimbledon as have a few worries etc... So please join if are with ABC or considering :)

Hello! Thanks so much for starting the new thread @Herehoping93 I’ve got my baseline scan booked in at Harley st in a couple of weeks. I know I have fluid in my uterus so it’s really helpful to know that you were sent for extra tests - I’ll bring my letter along from the hospital. Does anyone know what happens over Christmas with the clinic closure? That might be particularly relevant for you @Herehoping93 everything crossed for you!

Pandemo · 13/10/2021 09:05

I've also got my baseline scan at the London abc clinic in 2 weeks! Interested to hear any experiences with abc. Best of luck @Pelotonconvert and @Herehoping93

Can I join please? We very luckily have one DC and have been trying for a second child for 3 years, so we are starting IVF in November. We have a few issues but we are mostly ‘unexplained’. DH has 3% normal sperm morphology and a DNA fragmentation comet score of 28%. I have normal-low AMH (13.5) and mild adenomyosis. I get the feeling we are both semi-fertile but we have been put in the ‘unexplained’ category. Perhaps IVF will reveal the reason. We have our nurse consultation at the end of the month. Good luck to everyone having baseline scans coming up soon! Can I ask please did you book your baseline scan before your nurse consultation or after? My period is due to start at the beginning of November and I’m keen to do IVF then and not over Xmas!

ChocolateinBrugges · 13/10/2021 15:40

Ahhh I’ve just looked at my notes, is the baseline scan where the nurse checks over everything? If so I’ve had that scan already, a few weeks ago. I was thinking the baseline scan is the Day 6 scan but I think I’ve got them mixed up? I’m sure the nurse consultation will tell me the exact details but I wish it was tomorrow already. 🤞

@pelotoconvert Hi :) that's okay .. I should have my next baseline scan for around 10th of November's as got my GP to re do my bloods but not till 3rd November then have to wait a week for the results, the pocket of fluid on my uterus is a strange one I have seen it twice myself on scans now and looks same everyone NHS said it nothing to worry about can be to do with what time of cycle you are at etc or something to do with endometriosis I proberly have, but should not effect fertility but when I had my baseline scan in may the consultant said it needs looking into as could be toxic fluid and she she wouldn't want to put an embryo on there if it was so I won't know untill I have a transfer really or a lap but NHS won't do the lap as think it may worsen anything I do have wrong with me :( so all a bit worrying my endo is excruciating every month if feels worse so the sooner I have a baby the better then it's pain free during pregnancy ...I have emailed the clinic to see if remember me from before got a very quick reply so they have forwarded my email to consultant and will here from them soon as I am due on between the 18th and 22nd of December and I only have off till work till 10th of January so need to do it then so if I find out any more info I will let you know or of you do please let me know :)

@ChocolateinBrugges hello the more the better to all get a idea of how the clinic works etc and so nice to have others going through same situation s to talk too, when I booked my baseline scan I had to book the treatment consultation for a week later at the same time which was ok over zoom, yes it would be so much easier to not do it over Xmas my only issues it time off work as they aren't very helpful in that respect. Good luck on you upcoming baseline.

Herehoping93 · 13/10/2021 17:04

@ChocolateinBrugges ahh I see I have only ever had my baseline scan then the consultation a week later, so not sure which happens next but hope it all goes well for you, my DP has low count of 9million 4%morphology and 98%motility so think it just the low count which is the issue and I had a elevated TSH at my baseline scan, we had a miscarriage at 4weeks in September so something must have managed to happen after all that time so that was heartbreaking also

OP posts:
Herehoping93 · 13/10/2021 17:10

@ChocolateinBrugges can I ask what the DNA fragmentation is is that done same time as an normal SA or something extra not sure I remember seeing that on his report?

OP posts:
ChocolateinBrugges · 13/10/2021 17:51

I’m so sorry to hear you had a miscarriage @Herehoping93 That sounds very tough.
We haven’t had any hint of a positive test in three years despite always getting a positive ovulation indicator so I know I’m ovulating and baby making on all the fertile days ...I think either it’s because the sperm DNA is poor or there is a problem with implantation due to my adenomyosis. Maybe both...
The Comet test was an extra test we had done privately when the semen analysis from the NHS said ‘refer to urologist’ but the waiting list was about 8 months...

Herehoping93 · 13/10/2021 19:45

@ChocolateinBrugges thank you, ok thank you for that info I may look into the test privately. Do you use opk to test for ovulation or do they u also do BBT alwell? I found from my doctor that you may get an LH surge every month but may not always release an egg so checking bbt every morning can tell you whether an egg has been released at same time as having a positive test. .. ivf is a good way to get clear answers on fertility issues though, hope you consultation goes well and can get started asap

OP posts:
ChocolateinBrugges · 13/10/2021 20:58

Ahh that’s interesting about doing the BBT as well, no I haven’t done that, thanks for the tip @Herehoping93
The DNA fragmentation test is pretty informative, if this IVF cycle is not successful we will have our NHS urology appointment in December so hopefully we can get more answers about the test result. It was working out to be very expensive with the private urologist so we didn’t pursue a consultation on the result and instead just got the result in order to pass it on to the NHS urologist. We felt at the time we would rather spend the money on IVF, so I’m glad we will finally get our NHS urology appointment in December.

Pandemo · 14/10/2021 09:05

Thanks @Herehoping93. Can I ask about blood tests? I haven't had any yet, we're right at the start of our IVF journey. Will they do them at the initial scan or should I try to get them earlier? What bloods will they need?

ChocolateinBrugges · 14/10/2021 12:57

@Pandemo

I needed the following blood tests:

HIV 1
• HIV 2
• Hepatitis B Core Antibodies Total
• Hepatitis B Surface Antigen
• Hepatitis C
• Rubella IGG and IGM

And DH needed:
HIV 1
• HIV 2
• Hepatitis B Core Antibodies Total
• Hepatitis B Surface Antigen
• Hepatitis C

If you’re in London I think ABC refer you to the Dcotors Laboratory on Wimpole St and you get the results same day or 24hr turnaround...but I had them done with the NHS as we were previously going to go with another clinic until we found ABC. The turnaround time was about two weeks with the NHS so I would get them done with ABC if I had known about them before we started this and I’m pretty sure they are included in the set price...I’m not sure when they do them exactly though

Pandemo · 14/10/2021 14:38

Thanks @ChocolateinBrugges! Fingers crossed they are all included.

Herehoping93 · 14/10/2021 19:09

You also need your TSH blood result also, I'm having mine All re done at my GP in couple of weeks. My partner still is yet to have his blood test he wasn't asked for them at the consultation so must be after you qualify to continue they will want his ??.
I had a surprise today private number called me and it was consultant Lucinda at Wimbledon clinic personally calling to see how I am and when would like to to book my baseline again etc. So I asked about doing my cycle over Christmas and she said it was all fine they will work around it would just have to go to st Paul's if they was shit at all :) was lovely to get all the reasurrance all depends on my thyroid level being under 2.5 now so fingers crossed for the 3rd of November :)

Also needed in date smear test result.

My partner is terrified of having a blood test ridiculous consider what we have to go through with this process so getting him in to have the test will be very hard.

Pandemo · 14/10/2021 20:22

Oh fab @Herehoping93, that's great news about being able to do a Christmas cycle. My partner works in a school so school hols would be ideal for us too. For me I guess it's just lots of last min annual leave!

Herehoping93 · 15/10/2021 14:47

@Pandemo I've heard that working in the 2 week wait can be a good distraction permitting get to that part fingers crossed so all need is around 2 weeks off work as the clinic is 2 hours from me so would be nightmare having working and scan every other days trying to fit all in. Hopefully is all worth it for us all :)
