Hello I have been following a few ABC ivf clinic threads since beginners Ng of this year as I had my first baseline scan in Wimbledon clinic in may and had a few things to overcome before I can proceed I found the threads very helpful and comforting to follow and notice the last one ended and can't find a next one so thought I would make one ahead of my upcoming treatment soon :)

Hi @londonladyTtC love to see how you get on :) so exciting have they told booked your treatment consultation in yet.. @Pandemo so I had my follow up scan today.. turns out they found a pocket of fluid on my 9year old c section scar so I now apperantly have an cbsection defect. Which has never been seen before all they have mentioned is maybe endometriosis, so was a bit of a shock I have have a random fluid before but the put it down to time of the month. Very upset upon leaving clinic. Apparently the fluid that can collect in the pocket of scar can be toxic cause miscarriages implantation failure and more. I have to wait to speak to them on a zoom call next week after they have reviewed my situation to see if we can go ahead but my concern now is.if we go ahead does that push my success rate lower, and should I have the laparoscopy surgery to fix the defect first but I have been seen by the NHS after a waiting time of 3 years to be seen by a gynecologist who said to go ahead with ivf then have the lap as never saw the pocket. Worried I will have to go back on a. Long waiting list to be seen again by NHS or use money for IVF to pay for the private surgery :(.. sorry so long feeling devastated today. Wish it had been seen before so could have got it sorted before this..

@Akter1984 @ChocolateinBrugges how are you doing with your stims

I'm hoping ABC are honest and don't push to have my money and go ahead for it to not work and say to me you should have surgery first to boost your chances .. so worried ..

Herehoping93- sorry to hear that news. It's so frustrating when u want to crack on with the treatment. See what they say first and maybe you can get a copy of the results to pass onto ur nhs service to see if they can do further investigation. It's really hard , but don't just take abc Clinic word on everything. I wud do some research on this to find more of the facts... unfortunately all private clinics are still a money making business.

Akter1984 · 09/11/2021 19:27

Those C injections where nightmare to do ( first one today)Confused. I found for me hard to expose the needle as the whole clip wud come off. After bc a bit of tug and war the needle cover came off . Dreading doing it tomorrow as my morning are a rush anyway plus 2moro I have my 2nd scan.

Herehoping93 · 09/11/2021 20:19

@Herehoping93 I’m sorry to hear the news from the scan. Great you’ve managed to get a call with a gynaecologist you’ve seen before. I l hope they are able to shed some light.

@Akter1984 I just did my first C injection this evening, clinic has said to do in the evenings to give follicles extra time to grow...C was not nice. I’m still itchy and sore but have an ice pack on it which is helping. Good luck for your scan 2mo

ChocolateinBrugges · 09/11/2021 20:47

@Herehoping93 Another thing I would say is don’t lose heart, I’ve had lots of mixed opinions along the way, and another doctor might say the finishing is not an issue. Sending strength x

ChocolateinBrugges · 09/11/2021 20:50

Say the same thing is not an issue*

LondonladyTTC · 09/11/2021 21:02

@Herehoping93 so sorry to hear your scan news but great news that you have got an appointment with the gynaecologist so quickly. So far my experience has been that ABC have seemed conscious to save me money, and they also have a duty of care not to recommend treatment if it is medically better for you to get it treated first so hopefully they won't encourage you to go ahead without being comfortable of a decent success rate. Fingers are crossed for your appointment tomorrow and at least you will know one way or another!

I have booked in for a treatment consultation on Monday and hoping to start next cycle (from 25 November) - although DH keeps telling me not to get my hopes up!

Hii everyone! Can I join the thread? I'm considering ABC Fertility but am quite scared about the safety of it, especially the sedation.
Would very much appreciate an overall review of the clinic! Did it feel safe? Did you feel you were in good hands? I can't help feeling suspicious of the low cost... I was scared that they could be hiring people who are not as prepared or not using the best quality medication, why is it so much cheaper? Would very much appreciate the perspective of someone who already has experience with the clinic.

Hi Valzen the reason why abc ivf is so much cheaper than the market is because they use a mild/natural approach to ivf. Less medication and treatment protocol. However in order to get accepted by abc : you will need to meet 3 of their criteria. A) bmi under 30, AmH level and be 37 or under . If u meet these then they will accept you as a patient for treatment with ABC. The clinic is safe and well looked after.
Akter1984 · 10/11/2021 13:21

Update: I had my 2nd scan scan today. They told me everyone is going according to plan. The C inject I took this morning was a little better than yesterday. Back in on Friday for my 3rd (day 10)

Herehoping93 · 10/11/2021 17:33

@londonladyTtC thank you hopefully you can go ahead in November fingers crossed for you.
@Akter1984 agree with the missed opinions read a lot of different things online today so unsure what to think. That is great news that everything is going to plan hopefully you get a great number of eggs ..
Unfortunately I didn't get a phone call back either from ABC regarding a consultation about results nor from that gynaecologist. I got an email from the gynea reception to say I would need to pay and boom consultation as I was booking a slot for next week it disappeared now nothing till December so was very disappointed. Really need to speak to ABC to see. Where to go from here but don't even have an appointment booked so feeling very anxious.. at work all day tomorrow so won't be able to answer if they call ..
@valzen hi I have been seeing ABC since may of this year and I have to say I have been very happy with their care etc definatly would recommend them they are cheaper also based on the fact they are nurse lead and have meetings with create fertility consultants once a week with all their IVF ladies files to go through check anything with them ect which is great.. as long as meet their criteria ect is so much cheaper than other clinics . I have have levothyroxine prescribed to me twice and not even been charged was just emailed the prescription and have responded to my emails within 24hours (making sure I out the name of the doctor I sure in the subject e.g for the attention of.. ) seems to get quicker responses

Hopefully I will have more news tomorrow

Oh @Herehoping93, so sorry to hear about the scan! Hope the gynae is more reassuring

Herehoping93 · 11/11/2021 19:06

So I spoke to the consultant at ABC today and the don't want to proceed with ivf untill I have had surgery to repair my uterus. Have said I have a toxic environment and wouldn't put an embryo back in their. So I have spoken to doctors who have sent an urgent referral back to gynecology. God know how long waiting list etc will be..
Good luck all of you with your upcoming ivf's hopefully one day I can start too..

Sorry to hear that... but in a way it's good they didn't pursue something that they knew would fail. Biscuitstay positive your time will come soon.....
LondonladyTTC · 12/11/2021 08:54

@Herehoping93 so sorry to hear that news but I agree with @Akter1984 , it is great that ABC have made the safest call rather than taking the money and letting it go ahead with the risk it could cause you problems down the line.

I hope you hear back from gynaecology soon, and that the surgery to fix it is straight forward meaning the waiting list won't be to dreadfully long. At least you know with ABC, the moment you are ready you can get going unlike being put on another NHS waiting list for IVF.

ChocolateinBrugges · 12/11/2021 09:47

@Herehoping93 If the toxic liquid is the issue then it gives you so much hope that the surgery will fix it. You might not even need IVF. I’m sending you so much baby dust. I hope we all get our miracles soon x

Akter1984 · 12/11/2021 22:05

Update: had my 3 scan this morning. Have been asked to go back for a scan 2moro morning to decide whether I will trigger tomorrow evening ( egg collection on mon) or continue with the meds and collection done on wed.

Pandemo · 16/11/2021 15:21

How's it going @Akter1984? Did your egg collection go ahead?

Akter1984 · 16/11/2021 16:23

I had egg collection on Monday (15th). Collection itself is not bad. But aftermath recovery did not enjoy. Felt really sick yesterday and a bit of stomach pain today. Confused. 9 eggs where collected - 4 have been fertilised .fingers cross will get another update on Thursday. My transfer will be delayed a bit as they found fluid in my uterus and want to check this all gone before they transfer. If they transfer with fulid inside. Implementation likely to be unsuccessful .

Pandemo · 17/11/2021 09:09

They sound like good numbers @Akter1984. Hope the fluid is OK, did they say where it came from?

Akter1984 · 17/11/2021 10:15

It could be possible due to C section scaring that has not heal properly or that my left tube is blocked - this can cause fluid to leak into my uterus.

Herehoping93 · 17/11/2021 21:21

Thank you everyone for your support,. I have a private gynea appointment on the 9th of December will find out more then.. @Akter1984 seems the same issue they have said to me due to my c section scaring etc.. I really hope you fluid has gone so you can have the transfer. They did say to me I got have started cycle and then froze embryos if there was still fluid on my uterus and have sorted out then have the transfer.. did they not mention anything at any of your scan prior to starting stims?
