Hello I have been following a few ABC ivf clinic threads since beginners Ng of this year as I had my first baseline scan in Wimbledon clinic in may and had a few things to overcome before I can proceed I found the threads very helpful and comforting to follow and notice the last one ended and can't find a next one so thought I would make one ahead of my upcoming treatment soon :)

@londonladyTtC Sorry I didnt make it clear - there is no requirement to isolate. The second part of my question was around if you do get Covid and come out of isolation on day 6 after two consecutive negative LFTs (these are the new Government guidelines) would the clinic be ok with you coming in for a scan/appointment? As if there isn't enough to worry about with IVF we now have to factor in potential covid infection!

@Akter1984 how many days post transfer are you? I wouldn't rule out anything until you have the blood test.

LondonladyTTC · 18/01/2022 15:00

@Akter1984 so sorry to hear that you aren't positive but as @edibletreats says, it's still early so definitely can't conclude anything yet.

@edibletreats ah thanks for clarifying! I'm really not sure to be honest, i think in the covid form I filled in with my consent forms it says 14 days but they may have changed that now. Sorry to be of no help!

Herehoping93 · 19/01/2022 09:08

@Akter1984 how are you? Any updates?

Thank you everyone . @Herehoping93 just got back my beta results. Unfortunately my result was negative. Bear. Feel really gutted and num. My embryo was very good blastocyst but still it did not implant. I just feel so gutted and lost on what to do. To make things worse that was only embryo I had. So it means I'm back to the drawing board ...Confused

Herehoping93 · 20/01/2022 17:34

@Akter1984 I'm so sorry to hear your news. Have they given you any support or follow up appointment yet?
Don't give up hope, see what they have to say maybe try go to the hospital get them to get the niche repaired ASAP?
So sorry. X

I'm so sorry @Akter1984 Thanks

Sazles99 · 21/01/2022 10:28

Hi all, sorry for being MIA, it's been a tough week. We had our scan at the EPU on Tuesday and they confirmed that I had a missed miscarriage. I went down the surgical managed route and had my procedure yesterday :(

@Akter1984 I'm so sorry for your news, you mustn't give up! It's so hard to accept but I'm a strong believer that everything happens for a reason and things will fall into place when it's meant to be.

It's so difficult to even think of next steps at this stage, but take your time to grieve and then get back on it. We know what we want and we need to get back out there and get it! Praying you have people around you who can be there for you xx

Akter1984 · 21/01/2022 10:36

@Sazles99 . I'm so sorry for you as well. I'm just so teary ... for both of us. I thought at least you would have some good news to share . Sad

Sazles99 · 21/01/2022 10:44

@Akter1984Just goes to show we really are in this together! Strangers but not! I'm putting all my energies into being positive as that's all that is getting me through. It's not the end of the story for any of us.. these are just hiccups along the way.. I'm no where ready to be thinking about next steps, but I know there will be a point where I am.

Cry all you need to and let it all out, its much worse holding it in xx

Herehoping93 · 21/01/2022 15:34

@Sazles99 so sorry to hear your news also.:(

Hope you don’t mind me joining this thread. So sorry to hear all the difficulties some of you have had recently. Hope your next cycles are as smooth sailing as they can be and you get the positive news we all hope for.

I am due to start my cycle on Sunday, for a FET. They haven’t told me the process at all yet as I had my ultrasound done at another provider. I’m unsure when I’m starting medication, has anyone else had a FET?

Akter1984 · 21/01/2022 20:04

@Mochii welcome to the group. I just recently had a FET. You will start off with estrogen on 2nd day of ur period. You will continue to take 3 tablets a day until your first scan to check the thickness of ur lining. Then they will tell u to start the pesaaires and hopefully confirm ur transfer day. Good luck

LondonladyTTC · 21/01/2022 20:36

@Sazles99 I'm so so sorry to hear your news as well Thanks although not the end of the road, these obstacles are absolutely heartbreaking.

Mochii · 25/01/2022 16:04

Interested to know more about other peoples experiences with the communication side of ABC and if they had better from other clinics. I find it nearly impossible to get hold of anyone or know what’s going on. I keep getting told opposite things any time I can speak to someone and going round in circles. Did anyone else have similar issues or have I just been unlucky? It concerns me that they might not be that organised and make unnecessary errors, but hopefully I’m overthinking things due to nerves

edibletreats · 26/01/2022 10:53

Sorry to hear that @Mochii. Which clinic are you at? I am with Harley St although am told this has now been merged with Create at St Pauls. I don't recognise the admin staff now but the nurses seem the same. They have been ok, calling me back when I have queries etc

Mochii · 26/01/2022 11:25

I was at the same clinic. Wish I had never gone to abc in the first place though to be honest. Even from the start I had them asking me about previous treatments (triggering so I won’t be specific) but I had never had anything even similar to this treatment. I received a call saying I had reported to them that I had pins and needles down my left arm, which was never the case! Repeated the same consultation twice and forgot to book another to delayed my cycle by a month, that kind of thing

StarryHannah · 26/01/2022 13:13

Hi everyone
I'm not sure if anyone remembers me from the earlier ABC chats but I just wanted to give you some positive news (I was always looking for positivity when going through my journey so hope this will help some of you ladies). On the 3rd of January I had a beautiful baby girl. I'm 38 and a FTM. Started my process with ABC Cardiff January last year, egg collection 1st March and had to have a frozen transfer due to mild ohss and had it on 27th April (collection and transfer in Bristol clinic). Please don't give up hope... it happened for me and after years and years of trying naturally and having a diagnosis of unexplained infertility we thought it would never happen. Sending you all lots of love on your journeys xxx

edibletreats · 26/01/2022 13:43

@Mochii that sounds really annoying. I wonder if they have dropped the ball due to the merge? Perhaps send them an email and see if you can deal with/be dealt with one person only? Hope it gets better!

@StarryHannah Congratulations! I do remember you from the old thread. So lovely to hear about your bundle of joy. Hope you are loving every minute of that newborn whirlwind.

Herehoping93 · 26/01/2022 17:38

@Mochii hi welcome to group, sorry to hear your not getting great communication from them I'm with abc Wimbledon and I have found that if I put the consultant I have seen in as in for the attention their name in the subject of an email it gets sent directly to them and have had phone calls back directly from that consultant that way. But recently my last conversation the consultant said I will leave it with my secretary to book you in for your treatment consultation and it have been 2 weeks now and nothing. So I will email her again when I'm ready I think.
@StarryHannah I remember you from old thread also congratulations, so happy for you, always Is good to hear something positive.

I have had my gynaecology appointment I was waiting for with my mri results the other day and basically 8 have been told my niche is very tiny and they don't understand how it is affecting my fertility but does not fixing along with adhesions I have but ivf first is the best thing for now . I was informed which was quite upsetting tbh that belased on my issues inside I will never be able to give birth I have to have c sections (always wanted to give birth naturally wanting the experience emotionally etc)
But that by having a c section they will have to cut out all the adhesions and the niche during that surgery so wouldn't need another one so fingers crossed the ivf actually works and won't need further surgery.

Mochii · 26/01/2022 20:11

Great tips about the emails, I haven’t tried this so will definitely give it a shot next time as I usually just phone the main call centre number.

@Herehoping93 sorry to hear about your bad news about vaginal birth. Really hope you can have this dealt with via c section if your fertility treatments are successful to save another procedure.

@StarryHannah congratulations! Hope you are enjoying the first few weeks of motherhood and healing well after birth

Herehoping93 · 09/03/2022 17:48

Hello just wondering how everyone was getting on or if there was any updates, I have my baseline scan booked for next Tuesday, 3rd attempt at beginning ivf finally going to start, possible chance of it becoming a freeze all if fluid is still in my uterus neaere transfer day , but fingers crossed for me please.
