ABC ivf thread continued 2

Hello I have been following a few ABC ivf clinic threads since beginners Ng of this year as I had my first baseline scan in Wimbledon clinic in may and had a few things to overcome before I can proceed I found the threads very helpful and comforting to follow and notice the last one ended and can't find a next one so thought I would make one ahead of my upcoming treatment soon :)

Hi all, sorry havnt get you guys up to date with my events: I had egg collection on 15th..nov. After the procedure I was given antibiotics .. little did I no that I was allergic to them. I spend last week even now recovering from this. ( eyes swollen, skin rash ) . Waiting for all this clam down before I do my transfer xxxx

So happy for you !! That great news. Wishing you all the best in this 2week wait period .. fingers grossed. Can I ask.. what grade embryo they transfer for you?

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been unwell with the antibiotics. Will you be freezing the embryos before you do your transfer? X

Hi all, I hope it's ok for me to jump in on this..

I'm with ABC (Harely Street) and am actually starting my Bemfola tonight!

I'm feeling terrified, excited and empowered all at the same time 😬

I came here looking for any tips on Bemfola and was so pleased to find this thread and see that many of us are going through this all at the same time. Reading the threads, it's a weight off my mind that others have the same questions and worries that I do, so thank you all for sharing as you have done! I hope I can do the same for others while I go through this process 🤞

@Sazles99 Welcome, ABC have been fantastic and I’ve been really glad to have had such great care, it’s made the journey a lot easier

@Sazles99 . Welcome to the thread.. good luck with the treatment ahead. Bemfola is actually not too bad. I hated the cetride meds. But I let u tell me what u think of things when it's ur turn.

I've seen a lot of people complain about the cetritide ones so I'm a bit worried about them 😬

Hope you are feeling better after your allergic reaction! Do you know when your transfer might be?

@Sazles99 : due to Xmas closure of offices i think my FET will be schedule for new year now. I'm still slowly recovering from the allergic reactions

@Akter1984 I’m glad to hear you are recovering. Your allergic reaction sounds tough. But it’s exciting to know your FET is planned for the new year.

Hi @Akter1984, first and second scans were both fine thank you! I was asked to start cetritide after my second scan and have the next scan tomorrow morning. I'm hoping the follicles have grown further since Monday (the largest was at 13mm). I'm hoping they will be able to tell me when egg collection might take place but we'll see what happens!

It's been a tough few weeks since I last posted but all ok thank you. Unfortunately at my third scan, my folicles hadn't quite reached where they needed to be so I had an additional few days of Cetritide and Bemfola. Thankfully this did the job and I had my egg collection last weekend.

They managed to get 9 mature eggs and also said my husbands sample was good enough for us not to need ICSI so we went with IVF. We were very happy with this, but unfortunately, only 3 of the eggs fertilised so we lost the other 6 and we were told we'd have a day-3 transfer instead of a day-5 one.

I was absolutely gutted at with this and have felt a little bit underwhelmed ever since to be honest.

That said, the embryo they transferred was a grade 1 so they were happy and the other two made it to day 5 in culture (one 5AA and one 4BC) - they said both were good options to freeze but I'm not so convinced about the 4BC one!

And now, we wait 😭 - like I said above, I'm struggling a bit as I haven't quite gotten over the 'bad' news of how few eggs were fertilised and almost feel like i've prepared myself for the worse while still hoping for the best!

How are you feeling? Are you fully recovered from the allergic reaction?

I'm sorry to hear that you have been fleeing like this. If it's any comfort. I also had 9 eggs collected, 4 fertilised and only 2 are suitable for freezing . My egg grades are not even as good grade as urs. Both 4ab. You at least have 5aa .I'm due to start my FET in Jan. fingers cross for u.

Thanks @Akter1984! As they say, it only takes one!! And I've read of so many "low" grade embryos resulting in success stories so let's keep positive and hope we both get ours ❤

Ho @Akter1984 thank you for checking in, I appreciate it! I'm doing ok thank you.. finally reaching the end of my 2ww - we have our blood test this week and have decided not to test at home before hand as I don't think I can handle it 😭

I've had a LOT of cramping and aches and pains during the 2ww which has been very tough emotionally! I've convinced myself it's my period is trying to start but the pessaries are keeping it away :( it's a feeling similar to when I was on the pill and missed a day, if that makes sense?

That being said, I've read a lot about the progesterone having this effect on the body so I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

I'm finding it hard to stay positive, but I'm at least trying not to be negative! We're over the longest stretch and only have a few more days to go!

I'll keep you guys posted though 😊

@Sazles99 : so glad to hear it.... I'm dreading that 2 week wait as well. It's hard not to think about it. By the way I herd cramping and pain is a good sign of implantation. Fingers cross.. sending all my best wishes and prayers to you both in this nervous week.

Hi all! Thank you @Akter1984 for your prayers... they worked 😊 we were very lucky to have received news of our Christmas miracle just before Christmas!

I can't quite believe it and I am still trying to stay level headed as I know we still have a few months ahead of us before we can really celebrate! I think I'll feel a little better after my 6 week scan in January 🤞

Thank you all for your support in my journey so far and I hope it sends you some positive energy for when your time comes!!
