I think I'm a bit early on some of the other threads so starting one for October/November 😊

1st fresh cycle in august ended in CP.

Booked for follow up consultation 30th September so hopefully I'll be able to transfer late October early November 🤞🏼

5 frozen blasts. Hoping to transfer 2 this time round but I'm not sure they'll let me 😬

@Hufflepuff1 I know, I'm lucky I responded so well. My right ovary tucks in behind the uterus and they can't get to it around my bowel. I had this last time on my 3rd EC and because I'd responded so poorly they had to puncture my uterus to get at the follicles and even then I only had 3 from the both. So this time they understandably felt having got 8 from the other that it wasn't worth the risk to get those. Not sure why it's like this now, my first 2 ECs were fine!!

@strawberrysummer19 have they given you a provisional transfer day?

Doctors have done their usually positive, you'll be fine - we'll see you Saturday for the D4 transfer. Embryologist was waaaaay more real (based on my history) and has said transfer will hopefully be either Friday or Saturday and we'll know more after tomorrow when they've seen how the embryos have fertilised. Don't mind that though, much prefer a realist!
What do you all think about a single or double transfer assuming you have enough for that? I've previously had both and the embryologist this morning also wouldn't be drawn upon what their policy is which I found interesting!

VenusStarr · 02/11/2021 13:52

Great news @strawberrysummer19 hope the journey home is comfortable.

@paintfairy 5 is a good number. I got 7 eggs but only 3 fertilised but we ended up with 3 blastocysts. 🤞 For you.

@lucymills1234 what a stressful day for you. I'm hopeful for you. I can imagine your thoughts are all over the place, sending a hug ❤️

@MrsC2018 I'm sorry your ovary didn't play ball but glad you got 8. what happens to the follicles on that side now? Will they just ovulate as you triggered?

@Justawannabemam I'm sorry you have such a long wait for your wtf appointment and then future treatment. I'm with Create (different area) but I've found them really responsive and we got our reviews in within a week and I told them when I wanted to transfer and they made it happen by booking my doctor and nurse appointments based on my predicted period dates.

@TheSnufflet thank you 🙂 sounding good for your cycle this time 🤞

How are you @theotherfossilsister? How's everyone else getting on? X

MrsC2018 · 02/11/2021 14:02

@VenusStarr not sure what happens to those eggs, I guess they'll just ovulate and be wasted. Thinking about it, they didn't advise my husband and I against having unprotected sex with all those eggs floating around. not that I have any intention of even hugging him, my insides are so very sore! To be fair to him, the consultant did say that he'd really tried to get them out and was really trying to push and pull that ovary out of hiding - they probably know id rather eat my own arm than have sex this week 😂😂
How are you feeling? Hope these next few weeks go mercifully quick and stress free for you ♥️

VenusStarr · 02/11/2021 14:09

Oh bless you @MrsC2018 I don't blame you! Hope the soreness eases soon, poor you with all that prodding. It's a shame they couldn't get to them.

I've been quite anxious today, I just feel like time has stopped! It's hard not to think about it all the time. It's a weird time as I don't feel pregnant, but I feel very tired. Less hungover feeling today. On the one hand I want my scan to hurry up but on the other I'm so scared in case there's nothing there - we've never had a good scan and I'll be 6+2 when I have it, which is when things seem to go wrong for us. Having to remind myself it's a new pregnancy and I'm on an extensive protocol to keep them going 🙏

MrsC2018 · 02/11/2021 14:14

@VenusStarr I really identify with that. Can't wait for it to happen but simultaneously want to stay in the bubble of hope forever where it's still true and happening. That's why I hate taking pregnancy tests after a transfer! Of course it's a stressful time and no doubt that you'll think about it all the time, this means the world to you - forgive yourself for that ♥️

Holskey · 02/11/2021 15:43

Congratulations @MrsC2018 & @strawberrysummer19! Fingers crossed they're fertilising nicely and becoming little embryos right now.

@lucymills1234 I'm clueless about your situation (I never knew my follicle sizes) but I hope your eggs aren't over mature. It does seem like a cock-up from your clinic.💐 Hopefully it will turn out to be one of those emotional rollercoasters that end in huge success 🤞

Thanks @TheSnufflet

@justawannabemam is this NHS? Would you consider going elsewhere privately? I agree it seems like a long wait!

Justawannabemam · 02/11/2021 15:56

We don't know yet if we're being funded nhs. But even if we were to pay we still have this wait.
We could travel further but the next nearest one is 3.5 hours away . Which takes its toll. I'm up north so the waiting lists are pretty much the same. I've been in touch with a place 200 miles away I'm just waiting for some information back. But I don't want to jeopardise our place where we are now.

We're gonna forget about April for now. And focus on our December appointment. Hopefully after Christmas they will start more clinics and we will get seen earlier. I think I am going to asked to be referred to speak to there Councillor. Because the thought of waiting 6 months is not good for mental health. Maybe it will assist getting sooner . I dont know 😕

Tinyhappypeople · 02/11/2021 17:07

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of progynova for FET? I started it on sat (also on buserelin since 16th Oct), currently on 2mg but increasing the dose on Thursday. I feel horrible- sick, headache, palpitations and completely exhausted. Got sent home from work today, but I really need to pull it together for the rest of the week as we are expecting a cqc inspection potentially any day now and I’m a clinical manager so need to be on site doing prep and supporting my team.
Just feel a bit sorry for myself today… I was lucky with my fresh round and felt fairly well throughout with minimal side effects until I started progesterone, and was thinking that FET would be easier not harder! Anyone had similar side effects at the start?

Hufflepuff1 · 02/11/2021 17:33

@VenusStarr I totally understand your anxiety. As much as I dream to be pregnant it's also terrifying when you've had losses. Is there anyone you can speak to during this time, perhaps a ivf counsellor? My clinic suggested that after my last loss, I don't see why it wouldn't benefit at this time to try and get you through until scan day.

@Tinyhappypeople I am also on progynova doing a second FET and yes I am feeling it. Currently on 6mg a day also which will increase from day 8. It also didn't affect me that much on previous rounds so I can't offer any explanation or advice. I currently have some headache and feel totally wiped out. Luckily I am working from home so I don't have the office and commute to contend with. Is that something you can do?

strawberrysummer19 · 02/11/2021 18:19

@MrsC2018 no provisional transfer day so hoping I get one tomorrow when they call with fertilisation rates?

I did ask though as day 5 falls on Sunday so how will that work and they said they are open 7 days a week so potentially it could be Sunday but they didn't confirm - sure they did at this point on my last cycle xx

paintfairy · 02/11/2021 18:29

@strawberrysummer19 my clinic only do 5 day ones so I knew it wouldn't really be before. And thankfully its not a Sunday as I am sure they don't open. But they only confirmed to me today it would be Saturday but I won't get told a provisional time until Thursday. So maybe they'll tell you tomorrow? I would ask though if they don't volunteer it.
@MrsC2018 that's a good point about your other eggs. I kind of thought that about an odd one they might have missed. But you'll have loads!

strawberrysummer19 · 02/11/2021 18:35

@paintfairy ohh fingers crossed for Saturday!

I'm sure my clinic said before that they don't do 3 day transfers as a rule so I'm unsure why they didn't tell me the date today other than confirming they are open weekends and 'possibly' Sunday
I was so dozey when I came round I keep thinking did they tell me?! But yes hopefully I'll find out tomorrow
I don't mind so much as not getting an update on day 3 because last time we were told we would only get a call if bad so no news is good news then when day 3 passed we were buzzing and even transfer day driving up we were so pleased thinking how many do we have ?! to then be called to say we had bad news and no blasts ! So this time just trying to be prepared ( although still being hopeful!) x

Tinyhappypeople · 02/11/2021 19:55

@Hufflepuff1 sorry you are struggling with the progynova too… wiped out sums it up. Not looking forward to going to 6mg. Was going to do the odd day from home but unfortunately due to sickness in my team it’s not really possible at the moment.
Thinking of all of you waiting for calls with embryo news… I think I found those few days more stressful than any other point in the process!

ChocolateinBrugges · 02/11/2021 20:00

Can I please join? I am about to start my STIMS tomorrow

ChocolateinBrugges · 02/11/2021 20:02

Can I ask please does it matter what time you take Bemfola? The clinic suggested 6-8pm but 10pm would work better for us...

strawberrysummer19 · 02/11/2021 20:03

@ChocolateinBrugges welcome! What's your protocol?

Question re EC ladies

Is a hot bottle ok? I have one as I feel a tad cold anyway but ok getting quite uncomfortable now
Have taken paracetamol but any other remedies ?

X

Hufflepuff1 · 02/11/2021 21:32

@strawberrysummer19 hot water bottle is fine. They only say don't have one after transfer. I literally wrapped a long hot water bottle round me - available on amazon prime if you need one. Same goes for paracetamol. Do what you need to to heal before transfer.

@ChocolateinBrugges if the clinic have told u a time then I would go with that. My clinic just told me to keep everything at the same time each day. Be that for tablets or injections.

paintfairy · 02/11/2021 21:40

@strawberrysummer19 I didn't feel too uncomfortable but I was very cold! Keep taking the paracetamol. And my clinic i was sure only did 5 day transfers but they never mentioned it yesterday. Today when I got the call she said my next one would be Saturday morning. And that the transfer would be that day. But I still don't have an actual appointment or time. So I wouldn't worry.
@Tinyhappypeople yes, its a wait no one prepares you for!
@ChocolateinBrugges I don't know what that is? But my drugs i took at 10pm each night, as that's what worked for me. They only said evening was possibly easier though, they didn't tell me a specific time.

ChocolateinBrugges · 02/11/2021 22:06

Thanks @strawberrysummer19
My protocol is Bemfola every evening then Bemfola + Cetrodide from Day 6 till trigger shot with Ovitrelle.

ChocolateinBrugges · 02/11/2021 22:07

Thanks @Hufflepuff1 and @paintfairy

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 02/11/2021 22:31

@Chrischross hey, thanks for checking in, I'm ok, slightly miserable today, just having a down day, fed up with the drawn out process. I'm not really sure about baseline, I've been on buserelin since 19th October, started period last Tuesday, and only have 1 scan which is 23rd November- everyone else seems to have them before that, and more than 1, as usual our clinic seems to be lacking. How are you getting on?

@MrsC2018 I was told I was high risk of ohss, so looked up the best way to prevent it, turns out smart water is one of the best things for it, i was drinking a minimum of 3 bottles a day plus a lucozade sport too... no BPF, but no ohss either lol.

@Justawannabemam I feel for you, I was exactly the same after my transfer. It was my first ever round of IVF, we have paid in full for 2 full rounds including all frozen transfers. So when it failed I assumed we would crack straight on- I needed the distraction, I was devastated. I told them it had failed 21/8/21, to be told it would be a minimum of 3 months before another round.... which I was furious at. I'm not known for being patient, and being an emotional mess didn't help the situation. I now have a transfer booked for 29/11/21, so exactly 15 weeks since my last. It maybe worth asking if March/April is when they expect you to START the meds, or when the actual TRANSFER would be. If they are anything like my clinic, it takes 8-9 weeks of prep before the transfer, so your treatment may actually start Jan/feb, which would line up with you having a full natural period in between? I completely didn't appreciate any of this crap as I just wanted another chance, but I'm hoping and praying that this time has given my body time to recover and hopefully will lead to success on this round.... I don't want to say this is the case, but maybe worth asking?

@Tinyhappypeople omg I start progynova next week, I really hope I don't get all these side effects! IVF is so mentally and physically taxing isn't it!!! I started buserelin 19th October, I start progynova 9th November starting at 6mg, working upto 10mg! When is your transfer? I'm the same as you, was shocked at how much harder a FET is compared to a fresh cycle, although I don't find this anywhere near as stressful as the fresh cycle. Do you have many scans/appointments throughout your treatment?

Stay strong everyone, we are working towards our dreams, and we have each other to rant to... really do think this forum is a lifesaver!!! X

Justawannabemam · 03/11/2021 06:49

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 ah really that's interesting I need thought it might be transfer dates although I'm sure she would have said. We're going to see what gets said at out follow up and take it from there. I looked into the vitamins suggested so we are going to try those and hopefully it might happen naturally before then. At the minute I can't keep my eyes open passed 9pm so nothings going to happen . I think coming off the progesterone is giving me migranes like when I first started with bursellin. I've started back to the gym so hopefully I'll feel a bit better in a few days .

Can't wait to hear how everyone's embies are doing . X

paintfairy · 03/11/2021 07:57

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 it's funny isn't it how its all sold to you as xyz and they seem to omit the finer details? Maybe if they made it clear how it works then people wouldn't be disappointed as they know exactly what to expect?! Its not very good is it?

I stated my ultrogestan this morning. I now have the delights of that to contend with! 🙄

MrsC2018 · 03/11/2021 08:37

Still feel quite sore and raw this morning! Hope everything's settled down for a fresh on Saturday. Fresh transfers really are brutal!

Heard from the embryologist this morning - don't you just hate that call! Of my 8 embryos, 6 were mature enough for ICSI and 5 of those have fertilised. So feel pretty lucky really! Got 5 now to try and get to D4 for my transfer. On my best round I had 30% get to blast from fertilisation. On my other two terrible rounds I'd dropped to 2 embryos by day 1 and 3 so they've assured me that although I'm not scheduled for a call, they will be observing the embryos and will call me in for an early transfer if I lose too many before Saturday. I've made it clear that my preference is to have something to transfer rather than risk not having anything. It's in the hands of the gods now 🙏

How's everyone else feeling today?

strawberrysummer19 · 03/11/2021 08:43

@MrsC2018 that's a pretty good call! Well done. I'm too feeling sore and just planning on resting today. I'm awaiting my phone call.

I feel so nervous!

Hope everyone is doing ok

@paintfairy how are you doing?xx
