IVF/FET October/November 21

I think I'm a bit early on some of the other threads so starting one for October/November 😊

1st fresh cycle in august ended in CP.

Booked for follow up consultation 30th September so hopefully I'll be able to transfer late October early November 🤞🏼

5 frozen blasts. Hoping to transfer 2 this time round but I'm not sure they'll let me 😬

@MrsC2018 that's an early call! But 5 is where I'm at too. So I guess probably pretty average. Do the eggs have to be more mature for icsi than standard ivf? We had icsi too.

I think I feel more bloated today than ever! On the actual day I felt fine mostly. Now I feel uncomfortable.

@paintfairy yes - this is what my clinic sent me to explain the process

@paintfairy my call is between 8-10 so I'm glad it's early and gets it done.

On my last cycle they called at 9am and transfer day they called me at 8am with bad news.

My worst time of feeling uncomfortable and slightly sick was last night so I went to bed early with a hot water bottle and I feel ok. Just sore and raw like you described.
But I haven't got that Ill feeling like last time

Also I remember how horrid the pessaries made me feel - very bloated and had sore tender tummy after a few days of taking them (different pain from ec) - I forgot about them! So some of it may be due for that as I remember them making me constipated x I have some lucozade sport and more coconut water coming today in my week shop - that was excellent last time x

@MrsC2018 ah OK. That makes sense. I suppose with normal ivf they maybe don't check it too much, shove it altogether and just see what happens. 🤣 Fingers crossed icsi is successful.
@strawberrysummer19 they told me between 9 and 12 but thankfully rang at 9.20 ish. Did you have nothing to transfer last time?

Last cycle I had 7 eggs fertilised from 9 (8 mature) but they gave up on day 4 apparently so but worried the same will happen

We've just had the call

So from 7 -
2 were immature
4 fertilised from 5

I've been booked in for a 5 day transfer Sunday at 11

I'm happy with that considering my AMH is 5.6! Xx

@strawberrysummer19 that's amazing 🥳 best of luck for Sunday. BTW - I've got 5 embryos from an AMH of 23. Good job my AMH is so high given my right ovary isn't involved in EC at all!!

@Justawannabemam no, I don't have other children. I'm doing this solo as for various reasons have found myself single and the choice was do it alone and give myself a (slim) chance of a baby, or accept I'd not have kids. It's so hard not to look back with regret isn't it.

Thanks @TheSnufflet - I'm having regular IVF, though my fertilisation rate on previous rounds wasn't great so I always wonder whether I should go for ICSI. My clinic says it's not necessary though.

I'll be heading off for my EC shortly. They don't scan follicles before collection so I won't know how big they ended up, only how many eggs they get - which will include any over mature duds. I guess I'll only find out whether anything is ok quality when I get updates.

@MrsC2018 one ovary can be all you need! I only have one (the other was removed years ago because of a cyst) and it gave me 12 eggs first time, 18 second time and a total of 6 blasts (though my age means no success as yet).

@strawberrysummer19 oh no. That's my worry to though. That there will be nothing to transfer. They said its rare but clearly it can happen. I hope this time you have better luck. Fingers crossed for Sunday. 4 from 5 is great! I don't even know what my AMH is. They never checked! @MrsC2018

@paintfairy well we since found out my dh has high dna fragmentation from doing our last cycle so it's good our clinic wouldn't let us cycle again until we fixed it, so we think that's why
It's since come down after diet and supplements so we are hoping we will be able to at least transfer a good one - don't even mind if we don't get to freeze again just want a chance this time

I've just come from day 8 scan and my follicles are under 1cm :( I won't find out what that actually means until they call me tomorrow, but they mentioned they might put back EC which was meant to be Tuesday and mentioned I might possibly go on something other than menopur. Has anyone else been in this situation? I feel a little deflated and sad this morning. It's not bad news I know.

@Hufflepuff1 thank you for suggesting the counsellor, I'd actually forgotten that we had her, so I messaged this morning and am booked in for Tuesday. I've also ordered the Zoe Clarke-Coates book pregnancy after loss as well and trying to focus on hope and that we've got this far.

@IVFGotThis05 maybe menopur just doesn't work for you? Hopefully they can sort the medication out and get them growing! I was on ovaleap/menopur combined, so maybe they'll do something like that? Fingers crossed.

Of course @Justawannabemam I haven't had anything yet? But will keep an eye out x

@paintfairy Yeah I suppose that's what that appointment is for really! Ah it did sound likely that they were gonna try me on something else! I'll find out tomorrow anyway and just hope my little follicles start playing the game !

@paintfairy Also would that mean more injections? So Buserelin, menopur and overleap? Or do you mix the two together ?

@IVFGotThis05 yep. I was doing 3 a night. And on the days you swap your ovaleap cartridge you get to do 4! Yay. 🤣

@IVFGotThis05 I know! But I don't know any different so it just seemed OK. It wasn't so bad. The menopur i actually found hard as the needles that came with that seem blunt? The buserelin stings if you don't do slowly. The ovaleap was actually the best one. Plus watching the pen whiz round added some excitement. 🤣

@paintfairy I found the menopur needles very hit and miss - they seemed blunt.

How are you feeling now?

I'm ok but I still have the sore / raw feeling and appear quite bloated. My stomach is a little rounded and hard to touch. I know they say I can't have OHSS as too many little eggs but it does feel uncomfortable- especially when people at this stage say they feel ok.

I've taken paracetamol and in the shower the warm water feels like it gives it some relief ( as baths are out which is a shame ) and hot water bottles rest and drinking but I guess it's only actually been just over 24 hrs so guessing that's normal

No update for me so keep thinking how the embabies are doing! X
