I think I'm a bit early on some of the other threads so starting one for October/November 😊

1st fresh cycle in august ended in CP.

Booked for follow up consultation 30th September so hopefully I'll be able to transfer late October early November 🤞🏼

5 frozen blasts. Hoping to transfer 2 this time round but I'm not sure they'll let me 😬

Good luck for today @strawberrysummer19 @MrsC2018 :) x

Chrischross · 02/11/2021 10:31

Good luck today ladies!

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 how are you holding up? When is your baseline scan again?

Holskey · 02/11/2021 10:32

@paintfairy I'm sorry your news is disappointing and I know the drop off rate seems alarming, but you've 5 still in the running. You could get a good outcome in a few days! Sending those 5 positive vibes 🤞

MrsC2018 · 02/11/2021 10:38

8 eggs collected, feel tired and sore. Transfer provisionally booked for Saturday at D4 due to Sunday closure. Just got to pray now that they're mature, fertilise and behave themselves. Urgh it's stressful this process isn't it!
Best of luck @strawberrysummer19 for your collection
@paintfairy I know it's hard, but I'm going to be saying the same thing to myself - "it only takes one" please just let there be one!

MrsC2018 · 02/11/2021 10:39

Thanks so much @Holskey and @IVFGotThis05 xx

paintfairy · 02/11/2021 10:43

@Holskey yes I think that's it! How alarming the drop off rate is and what will be left.
@MrsC2018 yay! Well done. I feel OK today really. Rest up and drink plenty. Mine will be Saturday too. Provisionally is a horrid word though isn't it, you just want to know! Please be at least one is exactly what I'm thinking.

lucymills1234 · 02/11/2021 10:52

You're definitely still in the running @paintfairy - but I know if can feel crushing when you get a drop off in numbers. You have done all you physically can and it's all down to what's going on in that petri dish now. Try to focus on getting ready to be the best possible host on day 5!

@MrsC2018 well done on EC! Hope all progresses well for you.

I've pasted a new thread as I'm feeling totally despondent. Day 11 scan yesterday showed 7 follicles between 20-23mm and 4 were 16-19mm. I was told to inject my final day 11 stims late afternoon and wait for a call with a trigger time. They also took a blood test for the first time ever during stims.

I injected 300 Ovaleap at the time instructed. Then an hour or so later got a call saying not to do my final stims dose as bloods showed my estrogen was very high. I said it was too late as I'd done it! There was a delay then they came back and said ok, go ahead and trigger, which I did at midnight (EC tomorrow).

I'm now really worried that the majority of my follicles were already too big to need another stims dose and by the time of EC they'll be duds as over-mature - I was told before this was 26mm+. If all 7 that were already over 20mm are no good, that only leaves me with the other 4, assuming they don't grow too much. I've also read that high estrogen has a definite negative impact on implantation, so I'm worried a fresh transfer won't work even if by miracle I get a blast and it's euploid. If I freeze all and wait for FET, that will fall smack bang in the Christmas closure so I'd have to wait until Jan, and at my age (42) I can't afford to be wasting months. I'm frustrated that if my clinic thought high estrogen was a risk - which they must have to do bloods - then why not tell me to wait for results before another dose? I feel now like this cycle is messed up and it's quite likely the last one I'll ever get to do, which is devastating.

Anyone here had any large follicles at trigger?

paintfairy · 02/11/2021 10:58

@lucymills1234 omg. How ridiculous. Yes if they told you to do the ovaleap at a time then they should be calling you before this. This is their fault and I would be bringing that up later, if it all goes wrong.
They didn't actually tell me to give meds on trigger day, only the buserelin (sat). Neither did they check my blood on my last scan (fri). Its bonkers how they are all so different?

You might find though that that didn't get over the threshold size. But waiting to find out is stressful. Fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

strawberrysummer19 · 02/11/2021 11:01

@paintfairy that's still a nice number - I only have 5 shown in my scan so I have less I should imagine. Rest up and drink lots xx

@MrsC2018 well done. That's a great number.
I can't recommend coconut water and lucozade sport enough - full of electrolytes

I'm in the clinic and have had obs done - told them I was so sick last time and they are given me an anti sickness so hopefully won't be as poorly again.

Will update later lovely ladies xx

strawberrysummer19 · 02/11/2021 11:03

@lucymills1234 very stressful for you and as if this process isn't stressful enough. I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine and although they should have given you more time and sounds like they got that part wrong, I'm sure all will be on on the day - easy said than done try not to worry xx

Justawannabemam · 02/11/2021 11:26

@lucymills1234 poor you . Like things aren't stressful enough now you have this to contend with. Hopefully all will be good and your collection can go ahead.

We woke up feeling very down and low this morning. We can't believe we have to wait 5 months to have another cycle. We really don't know what to do. By that time I will be coming up 41 and my boyfriend will be 44. We know we have left this too late and we really don't want to wait any longer. I just wish there was some where closer that we could go. 😔

Justawannabemam · 02/11/2021 11:28

@strawberrysummer19 5 is a good number. I only had 4 fertilised and 2 made it to day 5. As long as you have 1 that's the important thing.

I need to ring the clinic to see what will happen now I've stopped the progesterone. I cant bring myself to ring as I know I will mentioned the timescale to wait it would be quicker going abroad!

strawberrysummer19 · 02/11/2021 11:31

@Justawannabemam yes I would be happy with that and hopefully some have caught up
Like you say it's the fertilisation and how many make it that's important

Take your time. Ask if there maybe a cancellation list you can go on? People have to cancel for various reasons
Call when you are ready and have a list of questions you want to ask and see what they have to say
Sending hugs xx

Justawannabemam · 02/11/2021 11:37

We have a follow up at beginning of December so we have to wait for all our questions then with the consultant.
I just can't believe we have to wait that long . Its like we are back at the start . We had to wait this long for the first cycle.

We are on the list for those that need to go again so if there are cancellations we move up. It must be a long list to April. We genuinely thought we could have gone again in a few weeks.

Has anyone else had these waiting times ?

lucymills1234 · 02/11/2021 11:51

@paintfairy I've also been told to take a stims dose on trigger day, but that's based on getting follicles to the right size. I imagine if follicles are already big enough then you shouldn't. I don't think I'll ever know what size follicles were at EC as they don't record that - no doubt my age/egg quality would be blamed for a poor result if that's what I get. And I do realise that those are both big factors!

@strawberrysummer19 fingers crossed for you! They should tell you today what your crop was!

As you and @Justawannabemam say, this is a stress I really didn't need.

@justawannabemam sorry that you're facing a long, frustrating wait - there is a horrible feeling of a clock ticking down at this age (I'm 42) and it's the one thing you are utterly powerless to change. Acceptance of your situation is one of the very hardest things to mentally navigate.

lucymills1234 · 02/11/2021 11:52

*always been told, not also

MrsC2018 · 02/11/2021 11:54

But gutted, turns out that the 8 eggs were from one ovary - my right one was completely inaccessible. So I'm lucky that I had 8 to get from my left, but I'm just now a bit stuck on thinking that I've halved my chances 😢 better snap out of this soon! Just praying the next 5 days go quickly

Justawannabemam · 02/11/2021 12:04

@lucymills1234 yeh ill be 41 next August

Do you have any other children. ? There is literally nothing that I can do. We have the money and still have to wait . Sad

paintfairy · 02/11/2021 12:05

@MrsC2018 8 from one is amazing then really!
@lucymills1234 my lead one was only 18mm Friday morning. So actually you might have thought they would have me give meds on Saturday, as well as the trigger? Who knows!
@Justawannabemam the wait where I am is nothing like that. So I don't understand why its that long? I can see your frustration.
@strawberrysummer19 yeah they'll tell you after how many you got. Good luck!

strawberrysummer19 · 02/11/2021 12:24

I got 6 so I'm happy with that x

paintfairy · 02/11/2021 13:01

@strawberrysummer19 excellent! How do you feel?

MrsC2018 · 02/11/2021 13:09

@strawberrysummer19 ♥️ so tomorrow's call from the embryologists are our next hurdle 🤞

TheSnufflet · 02/11/2021 13:10

Congratulations to @VenusStarr and @Holskey - let's hope some of your luck rubs off on the rest of us :)

And well done everyone else @MrsC2018 @paintfairy @strawberrysummer19 on EC numbers! Fingers crossed to you all x

@lucymills1234 there's also a good chance that your 7 lead follicles won't reach 26-27mm+ by EC tomorrow. Are you having ICSI or regular IVF?

It seems that everyone else who started stims at the same time as me has raced ahead already! I had my day 11 scan yesterday and the largest follicles were around 16mm, with my lining at 11mm... my ovaries are definite slow-coaches! I have another scan tomorrow with EC due either on Friday or Saturday. I've responded a lot better this time round and have ten follicles on each ovary (although a lot of them definitely won't be the right size to contain a mature egg). All I'm hoping for this time is for at least one egg to fertilise - if I get that, then this cycle will have improved on the last shitshow. I daren't even dream of getting a blastocyst to transfer!

Hufflepuff1 · 02/11/2021 13:16

@strawberrysummer19 great stuff, hope you are feeling ok.

@paintfairy 5 is still a good number, it's normal to get 50% fertilisation rate. Fingers crossed.

@Justawannabemam where are you based? I see you mentioned Leeds is Sheffield an option for you? I hear create are excellent there and always thought I'd go there if we ever had the money to do so.

@MrsC2018 8 from one is awesome! Did they give you any other details on why they couldn't get to the right?

@lucymills1234 what an experience! Fingers crossed for you x

strawberrysummer19 · 02/11/2021 13:25

Sorry it was actually 7 eggs so I'm pleased with that number

Yes now for the phone call tomorrow
🤞

Feeling so spaced out which I didn't get last time but no sickness yet and just tender
Now to get out of central London in a 3 hr car journey yuck!

Hope everyone is ok xx
