IVF/FET October/November 21

I think I'm a bit early on some of the other threads so starting one for October/November 😊

1st fresh cycle in august ended in CP.

Booked for follow up consultation 30th September so hopefully I'll be able to transfer late October early November 🤞🏼

5 frozen blasts. Hoping to transfer 2 this time round but I'm not sure they'll let me 😬

@Justawannabemam thinking of you struggling with the uncertainty, it is such a sh*y place to be.

I had my day 8 scan earlier. I am usually quite diligent about getting all of the info on follicle numbers and sizes but got one of those nurses today who seems to want to break the speediest appointment records. But, I think (?!) the headline is that 10 follicles are growing well and are over the 10mm mark, largest one being 16mm, and there are another 3 below 10mm which probably won't catch up.

I felt a bit disappointed as on my last cycle they counted 15 at this stage but I know at 42 and with one ovary I should be pleased with 10! I always get freaked out thinking of the drop-off but I do know quantity doesn't mean quality... Anyway, dose is staying at 300 Ovaleap and next scan on Monday. Not certain yet but it's looking like Weds for EC.

@MrsC2018 did you have your day 8 scan today as well?

@paintfairy what's the latest with you (sorry if my quick read of updates missed yours!)

So- clinic took forever to call me with my official update this afternoon. And then it was an anticlimax. All they did was confirm what the lady thought this morning. I've attached my chart. But I'll be triggering Saturday night (they will call me tomorrow to tell me what time exactly, and tell me anything else I need to know- which I feel like I know nothing!) and egg collection will be Monday (time confirmed tomorrow).
I can honestly say I'm not looking forwards to it. I also usually go to the toilet a billion times and I'm guessing i can't do that?!

@lucymills1234 hey how are you? Yea I had my day 8 scan today - all is well in there, I've got some big follicles, like you didn't bother getting all the stats as it never means anything anyway, there's always a different number when they actually do the EC! I'm triggering Sunday night for collection Tuesday and theyve swapped out my gonasi trigger for Buserelin as ive overstimulated a bit, she couldn't count all of the follicles apparently- but this happens every time and ive never had more than 14 on the day so 🤷‍♀️

I've spoke to the nurse today. They are just so lovely.

I'm going on Monday to have bloods and they can assess where I am. Then we'll take it from there.

She says some people do bleed through out although I'm under no illusion that I am still pregnant .

I just want to find out maybe get some questions answered and see where we go from here. I know in future i wont build my hopes up so much 💖

@Justawannabemam just to say, I bled very badly when pregnant with my daughter - bright red blood with cramping. I was told the same and honestly wouldnt believe it myself that something could survive all that bleeding. Hope you get your answers soon ♥️

@Justawannabemam ❤️ I'm sorry, I definitely passed something distinctive after my fresh cycle / chemical which surprised me. Have you tested again, or just waiting until Monday? Sending love xx

@paintfairy 🤞 for trigger tonight. Mine was on a Saturday for collection on the Monday. I didn't need a full bladder though as had sedation.

Time is going super slow @Holskey doesn't help that I can't sleep, so the days are longer! The tww was fast compared to this x

I'm going for bloods Monday and probably Wednesday. I'll do a digital test Sunday. @VenusStarr

@VenusStarr I must admit no one has mentioned the full bladder thing, I was just assuming as that's what was said originally. I'm having sedation too. God knows. To be honest information has been lacking all the way through.

I'm pretty sure my nurse said go to the toilet before they came and put the canula in my hand. I think clinics are so used to doing this day in and out, they forget that we have no idea what the process is and it would be helpful to have information! @paintfairy I liked the sedation, my team were really kind and I felt safe. It was a good sleep. I did feel a little bit sick after though, so had to stay a bit longer but recovery was OK and I didn't feel anything during the collection.
Have you had a sheet about before collection? I remember mine saying about no eating or drinking a few hours before the sedation and the anesthetist asked me again during prep so I'd say that's the most important thing. Good luck!

@VenusStarr yes. All it said was no eating after midnight and you can drink water up to 3 hours before. And no perfume etc.
Yes I think that's it! They know what's going on and just assume you do. 🤣

@paintfairy I also had to go the toilet before hand, and I didn't feel a thing during egg collection. Lovely sleep! I woke up in a lot of pain because I had OHSS, but I think that shows how good the sedation was.

@Holskey God I hope that's the case for me! I really am terrible at holding it anyway, but when I'm nervous I've got no hope! I just seem to remember the consultant saying that you had an external scan for it because they can't do internal. But then I did wonder how you are meant to not pee on people if you are sedated? 🤣

@paintfairy deffo don't need a full bladder for EC, it's the transfer you need a full bladder for

@Holskey I woke up in pain last time too and had mild OHSS but was was quite poorly for a bit after - hoping that doesn't happen this time

@MrsC2018 is your EC round same time as mine ? Mine is Tuesday

@paintfairy I have the most terrible bladder ! It's fills quick and then it doesn't completely empty I don't think as I then need to go again
I REALLY struggled with this part of transfer last time and I'm dreading it BUT as I still have some way to go I just want to be able to get to that part if that makes sense

@strawberrysummer19 omg I'm exactly the same. I went once for a scan and she was like- it's quite full. I said how can it be? I've just been not that long ago.

They've called me though and I checked and thank god I don't need a full bladder. One less thing to worry about. My egg collection is 9am Monday. I'm to trigger 10pm tonight.

I drank as much as I could take and it wasn't enough so had to wait and drink for it was awful and then spent the whole time being so uncomfortable

Egg collection is a empty bladder so I'm pleased about that

I'm feeling ok, counting down the last stims
I have my last fyremadel tomorrow morning then the last bit of stims at 4pm then trigger at 1130pm tomorrow then a injection free day Monday wahoo

I'm feeling ok - little apprehensive as only 4-5 folicles seem to be in the running so just hope we get to EC and also that they get to blast as they didn't last time but feeling excited at the thought

Hi all, very late joining this time! Great to see that there are already some positive tests on the thread.

My clinic just does a day 12 scan for a FET, although I had mine yesterday on day 11 as they don't scan on weekends. They've brought the FET forward to Thursday, so soon. I'd never heard of buselin for FETs, my clinic just gives oestrogen and progesterone as standard. I'm also on the lovely steroids and having intralipids due to two BFPs ending in MMC.

I had DD from our last FET back in 2019, so slightly rusty this time round. I haven't done acupuncture either, which I always found helpful. I've been trying not to think about it all, but now it's so close I'm getting nervous.
