I think I'm a bit early on some of the other threads so starting one for October/November 😊

1st fresh cycle in august ended in CP.

Booked for follow up consultation 30th September so hopefully I'll be able to transfer late October early November 🤞🏼

5 frozen blasts. Hoping to transfer 2 this time round but I'm not sure they'll let me 😬

Hi @2021babyhope I'll join you. I've got my nurse consultation on 15 September and my period is due around 1st October, so hoping we can do our FET on that cycle.

I had a chemical after my fresh round in June. We've got 2 frozen embryos, but just transferring one.

I did a mock cycle last month, so I've got a rough idea of what to expect with the estrogen (I'm not down regulating), it was a bit rough but hopefully worth it 🤞 xx

2021babyhope · 02/09/2021 12:32

@VenusStarr aah hopefully we won't be far off each other then 😊 I'm hoping for a natural cycle too! I'm due on 13th October so hoping I'll be able to go on that cycle!

My clinic is shut on Sundays though so I'm not sure they'll let me in case the date we need to transfer is on a Sunday.

Will this be your second transfer?

@VenusStarr sorry to hear about your chemical 🥺 I really struggled after mine but looking forward to a new cycle now. It's hard being that close!

Hello to you both, I am new to IVF and forums in general tbh. I have been following the Aug/Sept and Sept/Oct groups but felt like I was a little behind them all so a Oct/Nov group should be right. I am due to start down regulation meds around 17th Sept if all goes to plan.
Sorry about both of your cycles ending in CP must of been hard. How are you feeling about next round? Any words of advice or tips? I am not great with all the accroyms but learning 👍

2021babyhope · 06/09/2021 20:55

Hi @Newbee33 🥰 aaah that's exciting! Not long to go!

Thank you, I'm looking forward to getting a new cycle started! My consultation isn't long away now and I'm going to push to transfer 2 embryos 😬

The only advice I can really give is be kind and patient with yourself. It's such a journey and the calmer you can stay the better 🖤

Do you know when you'll be doing egg collection roughly? Have they gone through your medication and everything?

OP posts:
Newbee33 · 07/09/2021 19:44

Hi @2021babyhope no they havent really gone through it all yet, just got a catheter test and drug appointment next week. From what I have read people seem to be on down reg meds for a couple of weeks maybe then start injections? Thanks for advice I will definitely try.
Did they only put 1 embryo in last time? 5 frozen blasts seems like a good number. When you have your frozen cycle do they implant using natural cycle or is it still a medicated cycle? X

2021babyhope · 07/09/2021 20:44

@Newbee33 yeah I did a period of down reg 😊 it flys by though!

Yeah just 1 implanted last time because of the quality.

I'm hoping they'll let me do an unmedicated cycle for my FET as it's quicker but because they don't work Sundays I'm not sure they'll take the chance in case I miss the transfer window! Got lots of questions ready for the 30th.

Aah I didn't have a mock transfer but the actual transfer itself was absolutely fine!

OP posts:
Newbee33 · 07/09/2021 21:21

An unmedicated cycle sounds like a good thing, you would hope your body reacts more naturally than with all the drugs. How long did you have to down reg for? Hopefully they will let you do 2, the nurse said at our first appointment seemed reluctant to put 2 in. Are you very regular and know it probably will fall on a Sunday?
They are just doing a catheter test as I had a hycosy done but they failed to get through cervix. I was a bit unsure at time and should of asked more but to me it seemed like a young trainee doctor that didnt really know what he was doing being shown by a senior guy. Not a pleasant experience but I have no idea if I genuinely have a problem or he just didnt know what he was doing ( hoping for the later).

ChristmasJumpers · 07/09/2021 21:31

I hope you don't mind me tentatively joining you?

I'm new to all of this but have an appointment on 12th October with the clinic with a view to getting started on my next cycle following the appointment! I might be abit behind you all but I won't be sure until mid October

Newbee33 · 07/09/2021 21:47

Hi @ChristmasJumpers welcome, I am new to it all too. Have you been waiting long for your appointment? Hopefully wont feel like too long for you x

2021babyhope · 07/09/2021 21:51

@Newbee33 our clinic seemed reluctant also - I think they worry about the chance of triplets! If I'm being honest I'll take the chance 😅

I am pretty regular! Just hoping my chemical didn't mess my cycle up but I'll find out in a couple of weeks!

I had to do 3 weeks birth control and then 2 week Norethisterone, a weeks break and then started Gonal F, and then introduced cetrotide about 5 days later.

Aah I had a very similar situation, I was supposed to have a HSG to check my tubes were open, the doctor couldn't even get the speculum in so it was cancelled. But honestly when I did transfer it was a completely different experience - I'd completely worked myself up for no reason. I did request a temazepam though which might of helped!

OP posts:
2021babyhope · 07/09/2021 21:52

@ChristmasJumpers of course 😊 more the merrier!

Aah we might all just fall in the same time then roughly 🥰 is this your first cycle of IVF?

OP posts:
ChristmasJumpers · 07/09/2021 22:11

@2012babyhope yep this is my first time with IVF after 2.5 years ttc naturally. We've had all of our tests through my local hospital which took forever but our appointment at the clinic is only 8 weeks after our initial referral so quite quick!

Am I right in thinking if I need to take the pill for a few weeks, then a few weeks of injections, I might be looking at testing as far back as the new year? Or is that too long?

2021babyhope · 08/09/2021 07:22

@ChristmasJumpers I had to do my initial tests through the nhs too, and it did take forever.

Once we started with our private Clinic though things moved quite quickly 😊

It depends on your treatment plan I think but I did 3 weeks birthday control before and about 2 weeks Norethisterone, had a 1 week break to have a bleed and then started injections (you can start while you're still bleeding).

I think from start to end it was about mid June and my transfer was 10th August. So you may be looking at December depending on when your next period falls after your consultation. They may put you on short protocol though which misses some of that out 😊

Hi 👋 everyone! Can I jump on too please? I’m currently in waiting for my day 1, to start burselin on day 21 of next cycle (expected around 5th October) for a week, then it is fematab for 2 weeks, then a scan, then another week.. which will bring me to November! I can’t can’t wait to get that little emby into my belly! I’m 41, with low AMH (1) so I only got 5 eggs, but two embryos are euploid from pgt-a testing so I’ve fingers crossed. Is anyone else wishing September away 😆

2021babyhope · 08/09/2021 12:39

Hi @Littleblue80 🥰

Is that a medication FET cycle you're on?

I may be into December then if they make me do the same 😭

Literally never wished time away quicker 😅

Is this your second cycle or did you have a freeze all from your EC?

OP posts:
Littleblue80 · 08/09/2021 12:44

Hi @2021babyhope yes it was freeze all for testing and medicated cycle yes, it is so long isn’t it? Frustratingly I started another cycle back to back and got news today that my only embryo is not progressing. So now it is just focusing on the FET. Are you waiting for a slot or just going through the cycle stages? How can we make time go quicker? we can’t even a drink wine 🍷

Littleblue80 · 08/09/2021 12:48

@2021babyhope I should add, that last cycle that just failed is also delaying me, as I have to wait for my period after that, then day 21 to start …

2021babyhope · 08/09/2021 13:33

@Littleblue80 I had a fresh transfer 10th august which unfortunately ended in a chemical at 5 weeks. So just waiting for my follow up appointment now which is on the 30th 😊

I have a sneaky feeling they'll put me on a medicated cycle to properly schedule all the scans and transfer.

To be honest as long as I have a plan I don't really mind! I am going to ask them to transfer two embryos this time though, although I don't think they'll let me 🥲

OP posts:
Littleblue80 · 08/09/2021 13:53

I’m sorry to hear that you had a chemical @2021babyhope, that is very tough to experience.. and I can understand why you would want a double transfer after going through that. It might be helpful if you explain this to your clinic..if there is a glimmer that they might do it, push for it! Be the loudest voice in the room and hopefully they might back down 🤞🤞

Newbee33 · 08/09/2021 14:50

@2021babyhope thanks for letting me know about your HSG been worrying a bit thinking if they couldn't get tubes through we may not even have a shot a IVF. Hopefully all ok.
Welcome @Littleblue80 Xx

TheSnufflet · 08/09/2021 17:58

Hiya, can I join? I'm a complete idiot and started another thread for Oct/Nov when this one was right here!

I'll be doing a fresh round 2 after my batch of eggs failed to fertilise last time around, I had to wait out two natural cycles before starting again. EC is provisionally 3rd November but I'm starting downregulation on the 26th September.

@VenusStarr I remember you from the May/June thread - so sorry that it was a chemical Flowers

Littleblue80 · 08/09/2021 19:22

@Newbee33 hopefully it was a trainee under pressure and a more experienced technician would be able to access, sending positive vibes that this is the case

@TheSnufflet sorry to hear your first round wasn’t successful, hopefully they can change protocol /procedure this time round. I am sure it is frustrating having to wait but I went back to back and saw a massive difference on the second consecutive cycle: longer stims, less eggs, less mature eggs and less fertilitisation so hopefully a break will give you a chance to recover 💪💪

TheSnufflet · 09/09/2021 10:54

@Littleblue80 thank you Smile the biggest difference this time round will be doing ICSI - we had a relatively rare thing happen where the sperm just didn't recognise/bind to the egg and wouldn't penetrate them in the petri dish Confused but I guess it explains why we've never been able to conceive naturally... I also was put on too low a dose of stims and they didn't scan me until day 11 so I ended up stimming for 17 days! So more scans earlier on, a higher dose of Gonal F and actually physically shoving sperm into egg should hopefully work better this time Grin Your results are fantastic though! Fingers crossed for your two tested embryos Smile

Giraffe971 · 09/09/2021 14:13

Hi guys 👋 I'll hopefully be joining you and starting my first ivf cycle soon. I've got a scan on Monday if everything is fine then they said I can start next cycle which would put EC towards end of Oct. My cycle has been regular for years but past couple of months they've been longer than normal which has been a pain for tracking.

I'm using a donor so I've spent this morning talking to the sperm bank about shipping vials over from the states. Its a so surreal. I started planning this last year during lockdown and now it's finally happening. Its exciting but nerve wracking too. The clinic said it should be straightforward but I've heard too many stories of ivf to believe that 😄
