Hey ladies ☺️

A new thread to continue the one we've maxed out from the FET cycle buddies May/June. Anyone wishing to join no matter what stage you're at we're here to support you along the way.

A little background around me - I have a little boy who's 16mo from my second IVF round in 2019. I'm just embarking (restarting after covid setback) on my first FET cycle with the embryos I have in storage in the hope for baby #2 🤞🏼
I have severe endometriosis, hydrosalpinx tubes which have been removed so my only hope is for IVF to work again. It's been a long old journey but if I can give any hope, faith and a tonne of support to anyone who needs it I'm happy to share my story, updates on my cycle and be there to have a general chin wag ☺️

We've got this! ✨ x

Thank you @Bluemeadowbaby.
Your message really inspired me and give me hope.

@Bluemeadowbaby @StrongEagle offt I hate seeing the months roll by. I started this when I was 30 and now I'm 32 already and still trying. Quite sad to be on our last IVF cycle and potentially facing accepting children aren't going to happen for us Sad

firefly37 · 17/08/2021 12:08

@Bluemeadowbaby ... thanks for starting this. I am a bit lost on my journey and feeling low so grateful to have somewhere to write it down! Hello everyone! Few names I recognise ... @2mumlife sorry to hear you are feeling low too. May I ask why you feel this is your last cycle? Its so hard isn't it :(
A little update on me ... after my last FET failed my partner and I decided we wanted to try one last fresh cycle but my FSH was 15.2. A consultation with my clinic in Prague resulted in them basically saying my FSH needed retesting along with AMH but if it didn't lower to below 12 then IVF was no longer possible for me (certainly with them anyways - they felt that I would be throwing money away). I have started taking a lot of supplements and vitamins to try and improve things including DHEA and COQ10 and will retake bloods next month but they have also asked for a Hysteroscopy. I blindly agreed to get this done ... but have since discovered this costs a FORTUNE! Anywhere from £1200 to £2400 ... we simply cannot afford to do this when there is no suggestion that there is anything wrong with my uterus. The doctor said it should be done as I have had two c sections previously :( ... I have emailed the clinic and simply said we cannot afford it and to ask for their opinions on an alternative test. I feel my fertility running further away from me everyday!
xx

Yay found you!!! X

HopingForRainbow2021 · 17/08/2021 19:43

Thank you for starting the new thread - I’m not trying another FET till October, but it’s good to check in and see how you’re all doing xx

@Verbena87

Verbena87 · 17/08/2021 22:07

Thanks for the tag!

And hello again all. Sorry for disappearing before - needed a bit of a head-clear which frankly I don’t seem to have actually achieved but pfft. I think we’re going again day 21 of my next cycle, so mid to late sept to start downreg, and transfer hopefully October.

My husband is in for his routine lynch-syndrome colonoscopy to screen for bowel cancer tomorrow and given the last year we’re both feeling a bit twitchy about it, so be glad when that’s out of the way.

And I am weary and sad; just feel like we used up our luck getting pregnant first time and that’s our lot.

Anyway. Massive congrats to @StrongEagle and hope the nausea gets sorted. I had horrible sickness and it sucks.

And best of luck/solidarity hugs to anyone who needs them.

Millie029 · 18/08/2021 09:32

@Bluemeadowbaby Thank you for the tag! Hope all you ladies are doing ok today.
I'm 12dp5dt today (OTD on friday - day 14) and after worrying cramps last night and waking up feeling like all my symptoms had gone this morning, i was set that it hadn't worked and felt brave enough to test.. 😲😲😲

StrongEagle · 18/08/2021 09:51

@Millie029 wow! So happy for you! They look like some pretty dark lines to me x congrats!! How are you feeling?

StrongEagle · 18/08/2021 09:54

Just a quick note to say it's so lovely to see some familiar names popping back in xx you guys really bring me comfort x I really thought the end of the rollercoaster was a positive test but this sickness is really putting me through it x

Millie029 · 18/08/2021 11:03

@StrongEagle Thank you! Do you think? I'm kinda worried that they're faint, however the tests are proper cheapies 🤷‍♀️. In all honesty I'm in shock as i have never had a second line before.. also absolutely terrified that it won't progress any further. Will no doubt be POAS a lot until confirmed with the clinic!
Sorry to hear your sickness is continuing. Hope you are able to get some relief soon xx

StrongEagle · 18/08/2021 11:09

@Millie029 I was obsessed with testing! I also got obsessed with googling pictures of other peoples tests. Those cheapies usually take a lot longer to even show up from what I have seen. People seem
to get quite dark lines on first response and very light lines on the cheapies and to me they aren't light lines x

Bluemeadowbaby · 18/08/2021 15:20

Aw ladies! I'm so glad to see some familiar names on this new thread! I agree @StrongEagle you all give me so much comfort too. Ah bloomin sickness!! Did you give the travel bands a try or hear back from the dr? X

@Millie029 wow wow wow!! Those are some beautiful lines!! Get yourself a FRER! They suck the life out of those lines when cheapies look like that 😄 stay calm & enjoy this moment because you my lovely are very much pregnant! 🥳 when is clinic test day? X

@Verbena87 hello!! 🥰 so good to see you back, sometimes the headspace isn't quite the headspace we want but at least you've taken a bit of time out and sounds like now you're getting your head back in the game 💪🏼
Sending lots of positive vibes your way for your husbands tests and hoping everything runs smoothly. One hurdle down my lovely. Sounds like we will be transferring similar times all being well and going just how we want it to 🤞🏼 got this! X

@firefly37 We've timed our last Access Fertility cycle to coincide with our last straw of sperm. We knew we had to draw a line somewhere as we've had to pay for all our treatment so far. We should be eligible for NHS treatment now if nothing comes of this cycle (same sex couple so we have to pay for a load of cycles first before NHS will even consider funding us) but that'll take at least 12 months I'm guessing to hit top of the list. So I guess we might be able to do more cycles in the future if we're willing to go through it all again in a year or so. I feel a bit like the world is just saying "this ain't going to happen for you" though, and there is only so much disappointment I want to endure. Hopefully supplements for a month will get your numbers back where they need to be without the hysterscopy!

@HopingForRainbow2021 If we get anything to freeze from this egg collection which is a freeze all I think my next FET wont be until November!

@Verbena87 Great to see you back :) Hope everything with DP goes well

@Millie029 Congrats! Are you due a beta test with your clinic to confirm?

Verbena87 · 18/08/2021 21:34

@StrongEagle has your gp been able to help at all? Women brush off ‘morning sickness’ as normal but hyper-emesis is a real thing and awful, and there are safe treatments to try. It can feel even harder to ask for help after successful ivf because of the feeling that you should just be relishing every moment in a cloud of lavender-scented soft-focus white-cashmere-wearing gratitude, but real life is not that and you deserve a break!

@Bluemeadowbaby thanks 😊 - he has to go back as they weren’t able to see as well as they’d hoped, and we’re waiting on a couple of biopsy results from today, but nobody seemed especially stressed out so I’m trying not to be either.

Millie029 · 19/08/2021 15:49

Thank you for the reassurance @StrongEagle. You're right, i ended up googling it too and the cheapies results appear to not look strong for others either! I took a couple more today just to check if it had changed and we still have a second line, so we've made it another day😅 how are you doing today?
@Bluemeadowbaby ☺ thank you! I'd get a frer test but think I'd end up spending a fortune as i wouldn't be able to do just one.. plus DH is like 'why are you taking more tests?!' 🤭 thank you so much, clinic test day is tomorrow!
@2mumlife Thank you! No beta i believe, its just a pos test.. then think they book in an ultrasound for about 4 weeks later. I'd prefer a beta if I'm honest!

2mumlife · 19/08/2021 17:37

@Millie029 I've sworn to DP I wont ever POAS again after the number I peed on during our chemical pregnancy (our clinic dose betas). Hopefully everything keeps progressing like it should for you!

Bluemeadowbaby · 20/08/2021 18:32

@Millie029 how did it go today? X
