Hey ladies ☺️

A new thread to continue the one we've maxed out from the FET cycle buddies May/June. Anyone wishing to join no matter what stage you're at we're here to support you along the way.

A little background around me - I have a little boy who's 16mo from my second IVF round in 2019. I'm just embarking (restarting after covid setback) on my first FET cycle with the embryos I have in storage in the hope for baby #2 🤞🏼
I have severe endometriosis, hydrosalpinx tubes which have been removed so my only hope is for IVF to work again. It's been a long old journey but if I can give any hope, faith and a tonne of support to anyone who needs it I'm happy to share my story, updates on my cycle and be there to have a general chin wag ☺️

We've got this! ✨ x

@StrongEagle omg that sounds awful honey. Thank goodness you got your reassurance from your private scan.
Try and put that negative time behind you now and focus on the little one growing. Such exciting times for you!! Xx

2mumlife · 25/08/2021 16:37

@Bluemeadowbaby woa, big move selling up house! I think its so difficult house moves and fertility. I was adament I wanted to move before really trying, so we did, and now we have these empty bedrooms for the kids I thought would come along quickly and haven't......

@Pingupp We occasionally play the lottery just in case! After my chemical experience I'm never POAS early again. Resist the urge. No good comes of it - whether its positive or negative it just leads to stress.

@StrongEagle I'm so sorry to hear about your expience. Its great though that everything is progressing well, and not long until your 12 week scan!

Things are ok here. Norethisterone causing no side effects so far. I had a real epiphany driving to accupunturist yesterday though about my general sense of dread about doing another egg collection. I've really had to acknowledge how much residual trauma I have about our first egg collection experience and the days that followed, and really how much of a negative impact that period of time had on my mental health. Trying to embrace more positive thinking that this is a totally different cycle and will hopefully be a more positive experience.

firefly37 · 25/08/2021 19:44

Evening all,
Just trying to catch up ... I dont get on here too often!
Congrats @Millie029
Congrats at being PUPO @Pingupp, sorry to hear it was so stressful but sometimes these things happen for a reason! After the transfer of my DD (one of only three mature eggs retrieved so I already thought it was doomed) ... I fell off the medical bed and then less than 24 hrs later was throwing my guts up with food poisoning. I was convinced the cycle was going to be a washout, but my little one stuck and is now a stroppy 22 month old DIVA! Everything crossed for you!
Wonderful scan news @StrongEagle
@2mumlife the same sex rule is rubbish :( ... wishing you all the luck for your next cycle so you don't have to wait any longer for your miracle.

As for me, you may or may not remember my last update which was I have a hideously high FSH which needs to come down (cue taking so many supplements and vitamins I am rattling) and my clinic are insistent that if the FSH lowers in next bloods, I must have a hysterocopy due to having had two c-sections. The cost of this is the UK is crazy so my Prague clinic are suggesting I fly over for it to be done with them which is significantly cheaper. Luckily flights are still very cheap so quite possibly I will be "popping" over for the day mid September. Why is everything so stressful!

Pingupp · 26/08/2021 08:20

@firefly37 omg just read your message! You fell off the bed?! Wtf? So glad all was ok in the end and you have your diva ( love it! ) but omg I can't imagine what kind of transfer day you had....
I am sorry you are going through more costly investigations. Thank goodness as you say that flights are cheap.
Wishing you lots of luck on this journey xxx

Verbena87 · 26/08/2021 09:44

@Bluemeadowbaby wow, you’re an actual warrior! We moved last year and it was honestly so stressful that I never want to do it again ever - if we need more room I will take up residence in the garage rather than go through the rigmarole again 🤣. Have a couple of friends who love moving though, I think it’s really personal.

@StrongEagle scan measurements are notoriously dubious, really glad you got some reassurance.

@2mumlife so glad you got a moment of clarity - I am wondering about finding an acupuncturist for my coming try, would you recommend?

@firefly37 hope the vitamins do their thing. Had a moment yesterday chatting with old friends where we were talking about my failed cycle and just thought “fuck sake, imagine just having a cosy shag at home - getting pregnant without spending anything or having to leave the house!” - it isn’t fair.

RickmanZ · 26/08/2021 13:19

Hi everyone.

Thought I would join this chat if that’s ok? My first IVF cycle in 2016 I joined a group on netmums so I thought I would try somewhere else. I feel these group are amazing and can give you a lot of reassurance. Little about me first cycle previously mentioned we was lucky to conceive our DD and have 7 blasts in the freezer. We have decided the timing is right for us to try again and try give DD a sibling ( she’s asked for 2 one for me and one for daddy oh if only Grin )

We started our FET journey around 7 weeks ago and I am booked in for transfer tomorrow. Feeling all sorts of emotions but my partner isn’t helping as I feel he’s very naive to it all. As we so SO lucky it worked first time he believes it will just happen again so trying to balance him out also has been hard. This might also sound very strange but it’s only just hit me that we are actually doing this. I’ve been doing my drugs in autopilot not taking the time to think what the end stage is then bang we are here.

Where’s everyone on their cycle etc?

Verbena87 · 26/08/2021 13:58

Welcome @RickmanZ - wishing you luck for transfer. Really get it about the weird fear after success first time.

I’ve had a call from the clinic to say we don’t need to downreg this cycle so will start estrogen day 1 of my next period and hopefully transfer by the end of September. Feels a bit of a shock as I was expecting to downreg from september’s day 21 so it all seems really soon.

Super glad to be avoiding the wretched buserelin this time though.

Hey @Verbena87 thank you for your reply. Are you having a fresh cycle or FET? I didn't think I would need to do buserelin again but I had to do them with my last one being Saturday just gone. Day 21 I had a prostap injection and they expected a period with the 2 week but that didn't come. It came a week after that so to stop my body doing its own thing I had to do buserelin. I'm not currently on 3 oestrogen tablets and 2 pessaries a day Confused
Pingupp · 26/08/2021 15:05

@RickmanZ hi and welcome!! I had my 2nd FET on Monday. We had a FET in June bug it ended in a miscarriage. Currently in the awful 2ww!
I know what you mean about autopilot on drugs and stuff 2nd time round- i think I have just got used to the injections and pessaries!!
Try and relax tonight if you can and fingers crossed your transfer goes well xx

Verbena87 · 26/08/2021 15:16

@RickmanZ FET - last FET was buserelin from day 21, then estrogen from the start of my next period.

This time I’ll just start estrogen at the start of my next period, and add progesterone pessaries in the lead up to transfer.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Congrats on the your transfer too. When's your test date? Do you think you will hold out till then? I know I tested early first time round but not too sure how early LOL

That's good then no injections for you. They aren't nice are they. September will be hear before you know it. I can't believe how fast this has come round even though I've been on the waiting list over a year I'm still like wow

Pingupp · 26/08/2021 16:23

@RickmanZ test date is 4th Sept. I am holding out like I did the last time. So many ladies drive themselves crazy testing as silly early days- I am attempting to keep as sane as possible and the ££ in my bank :-)

2mumlife · 26/08/2021 17:14

@firefly37 Hopefully your FSH level improves. When will they take bloods again?

@Verbena87 I've done 5 sessions of accupuncture now, and I do find it very relaxing. I would say my accupunturist suggested you would need to start several months in advance to improve egg quality, so we are really focussing on relaxation and just trying to work with the medication. I feel a bit at this point like there was nothing to lose at this point in giving it a go, and if it does have a benefit then its far cheaper than doing another IVF round!

@RickmanZ Unbelievable to have SEVEN frozen. You guys really won the IVF lottery being successful first try and having to many to freeze!

@Verbena87 I didn't down reg for my FET. Found the FET cycle a whole bunch easier. I'm not downreging for this egg collection either which is lovely. Is Busserelin really that bad? I'm using it for our trigger injection this time around (antag protocol) but just a single injection (looks like loads of fluid though to inject!?)

firefly37 · 26/08/2021 18:00

@Pingupp ... yep. I was told to stay laying down for 15 minutes. After that time I tried to get myself off the bed but I must have leant on the wrong bit as the bed tipped forward with me on it! The nurse then told me I was suppose to wait for her to help me ... ooooops. I laugh about it now but was devastated at the time! Hope your feeling ok in the dreaded 2WW...

@Verbena87 ... I get so ridiculously jealous and bitter of people who have easily got pregnant just having a bonk up ... and those that end up having "an ooops accident" .... ARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH! Congrats on having a date for your FET - everything crossed for you!

@2mumlife ... bloods will hopefully be done day 3 next period which will be early September. I would have been taking my vitamins etc for about two months by then so fingers crossed for an FSH lower than 12. I have no idea of my AMH as was last tested in 2018 where it was 5 ... 2 years prior it was 7 so I would predict it to be around 2 but with the huge FSH, its quite likely lower I guess :(

x

Verbena87 · 26/08/2021 20:21

@RickmanZ yes it’s come going really quick - I was expecting to downreg again so it feels as if things have suddenly been dramatically brought forward. Obviously that’s great but I’m feeling a bit shaken by it and frantically trying to get my BMI a bit more comfortably into the ideal range in the next couple of weeks instead of the next month!

@Pingupp I’ve always been a hold-out-er as well, keeping it all crossed for the 4th for you!

@2mumlife that’s good to know - my embryos are made with my 29-year-old eggs so hopefully egg quality was decent (one is now a human being, so 🤞 the others have that potential too), didn’t know whether it might help with implantation too. And I hated buserelin last time, but found it had a cumulative effect so pretty sure a single dose should be manageable.

We was really lucky. I was 23 at the time and partner 27. So very young but we was at that stage of our relationship having got together when I was 16.

Pingupp · 27/08/2021 07:59

Happy Friday all!!
@RickmanZ good luck for transfer ❤️

I had a few dull tummy aches on and off last night so slept badly. Hoping it's a good sign of implantation 🙏 this symptom spotting is exhausting!! Xx

Thank you! Don't really know how I'm feeling. A little numb to it all but hoping one thaws ok. I can imagine every niggle you'll be questioning it
2mumlife · 28/08/2021 08:52

@firefly37 I really don't know anything about how FSH relates to AMH (my clinic doesn't test FSH levels as far as I know) but fingers crossed for next bloods for you lovely.

@Verbena87 That's good to know a single dose shouldn't be too bad! I finish off norethiestrone tomorrow so feel a bit more like I'm on the count down to starting stims now

Verbena87 · 28/08/2021 20:20

@2mumlife sounds like you’re on your way - willing it to work for you.

Had an email from clinic saying they’ve ordered my prescription so drugs should be on their way fairly soon. Still don’t know how to feel about it really, and am being (un)pleasantly distracted by the delights of trying to deal with 80 year old lath and plaster/general project-house fuckery. @Bluemeadowbaby maybe I will join you moving after all! Anyone want a 1930s semi with damp and electrics done but plaster falling off and a geriatric boiler and some kind of lead pipe clusterfuck under the stairs that means our energy supplier won’t move the gas meter even though it needs moving?!

Millie029 · 28/08/2021 20:42

@2mumlife
When ready for egg collection, i had buserelin as the trigger injection. It was absolutely fine - didn't notice anything from it. I felt super uncomfortable but that was due to my ovaries going crazy 😬 x

Pingupp · 29/08/2021 19:08

Day 6 post transfer and not feeling it. Feel quite deflated. I looked at list of symptoms I had last transfer when we got a bfp and I feel totally different this time.
This wait is doing my head in.....

How's everyone doing? Xx

Millie029 · 29/08/2021 19:37

@Pingupp Sending you positive vibes ❤ The tww is torture! It must be so hard when you can compare what you're going through to last time. There are so many people who report no symptoms and go on to get a positive outcome. You've got this 💪When's your OTD? x

Pingupp · 29/08/2021 20:05

@Millie029 thank you!! I am trying to keep a positive slant on it.... but it's mega hard when you know how you felt the 1st time.
I am due to poas next Sat.
Sat having a 0.0% prosecco and Chris is having a beer - think chocolate is needed to make me feel better!!
How are you feeling? X
