FET September

Not sure if there is already a sept thread running?

I'm due to start down reg on the 16th looking to transfer September.
My last transfer was April, I've name changed since then. Last fet failed, I had issues getting my lining up to a suitable thickness and in the end they transferred at 8mm. I had spotting on and off and then I had an extremely faint positive, that same day I started bleeding heavily and it was all over.
I have 8 embryos left and just want to get going again now!

Anyone else starting a fet soon? Would be nice to have people to chat with whilst going through this again 😊

@Faithful789 I will definitely be firmer this time and made myself heard!
Good luck with your transfer today 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@summerson No I don't take ibuprofen or anything and the clinic say not too take it, but do have cocodamol if I need it

Thank you @Faithful789 good luck todaySmile

Sweet211 · 21/09/2021 14:04

Hey how are you all I’m starting my buserelin next week for my fet I’ve had fet few months ago but it was negative that time I didn’t use buserelin. I’ve only got 1 day 6 embryo left I’m so scared what if it doesn’t stick. Has anyone had a day 6 embryo transferred?

Faithful789 · 21/09/2021 15:19

Hi Ladies, thank you for the well wishes. I am officially PUPO! I had to wait a while with a full bladder which was a bit uncomfortable but the transfer itself went well. Now time for the dreaded 2ww.

@whatagloriousthingtobe when is your next scan?

@summerson I’ve never taken ibuprofen before my transfer but I do get what you mean as it can be a bit uncomfortable, I had to keep telling myself to relax because I kept on tensing whenever I felt discomfort.

whatagloriousthingtobe · 21/09/2021 16:53

@Sweet211 hi! No I haven't had a day 6 transferred but I know I do have one in the freezer with my embryos !

@Faithful789 woo 🤞🏻🤞🏻 wishing you lots of luck. This is the hardest part now I hope it goes smoothly for you.

My next scan is Thursday morning, keeping everything crossed

@Dalooah how're you getting on?

OP posts:
summerson · 21/09/2021 18:12

@Faithful789 woohoo PUPO! The best feeling (for a short while until the nerves and impatience kick in)... do you have any post transfer rituals? mcdonalds fries? Socks? Bed rest?

Everything crossed for you ......

Prayingforabubba · 21/09/2021 20:46

@whatagloriousthingtobe it took me 6x to pass! 😩 so sorry to hear about your lining fingers crossed for some growth on your next scan . Im two cycles in with no transfers yet so I asked for two to be put back in ! I'm not made of money 😩 but they said no.

@Csparkles welcome!

@Faithful789 congratulations on being PUPO X

Ladies, what cycle day did you guys have your transfers? I know I'll know when I eventually get to my scan but just trying to get an idea. I'm a teacher and at this rate, it's getting very close to half term and might become a bit awkward with work as they don't know that I'm having ivf. Did you all previously take time off post transfer?

Alexm06 · 21/09/2021 21:07

@Prayingforabubba i was cycle day 22 as my lining wasn't thick enough then they couldn't do the Saturday which would have been 5 days of cyclogest so had to wait till the Monday which I feel maybe a bit late but they said it didn't matter but still I feel that's why it didn't work. I have my lining scan tomorrow so hopefully this time it's thick enough. I have only taken the day of transfer off and then just did light duties the next day but it's what you feel comfortable with.

CurlyJ21 · 22/09/2021 08:28

@Prayingforabubba my transfer was CD18 which seemed early to me. I’ve taken a week off work this week. My work can be very stressful so I didn’t want to have to deal with it but now I have more time on my hands to be googling everything so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not!

@whatagloriousthingtobe fingers crossed for your next scan!

I’m 4dp5dt now and hoping to get to Sunday before I test but It’s soooo tempting to do it early

Dalooah · 22/09/2021 10:27

@Prayingforabubba I transferred at day 36! But I didn't start downreg till the first day of my period as theyre very irregular.

Ive been feeling super restless but feeling much of anything else. I'm at 8dpt and I tested at 5dpt and saw nothing. But I've secretly tested this morning, not told my partner yet, and there may have been a very faint second line.... 🤞🤞🤞Im trying very hard to keep calm and not get excited as I know it's so early and anything can happen. Praying the line darkens on the next one.

@CurlyJ21 and @Faithful789 How are you'll feeling?

@whatagloriousthingtobe how are you feeling?

summerson · 22/09/2021 14:18

@Dalooah

So
So
Exciting

I hope that line keeps progressing for you!!

whatagloriousthingtobe · 22/09/2021 15:34

@Dalooah oooh, great news ! very exciting ! I hope it keeps getting darker 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I'm okay thanks, just want this scan out the way really, I just wana know what's going on now !

Prayingforabubba · 22/09/2021 21:52

@Dalooah how exciting. Fingers crossed for darker lines over the next few days x

whatagloriousthingtobe · 23/09/2021 11:25

Transfer booked in for next Tuesday, my lining hasn't budged from 7.8mm. I told them I want to transfer regardless and they agreed. The doc said if this one doesn't work then we will do a stimulated fet next time, let's see!

OP posts:
summerson · 23/09/2021 12:16

@whatagloriousthingtobe that's great. 🤞🤞🤞.

Hope Tuesday rolls around quickly

Faithful789 · 23/09/2021 14:14

@summerson funny enough this time I am doing the things I didn’t do my last transfer. I’ve been keeping my feet warm and I’ve also had bed rest. I forgot about the McDonald’s chips but did eat a pineapple.

@Dalooah yay!! To the positive test, I do hope it gets darker. As for me I’m in between not feeling anything then experiencing the odd twinges. Trying not to look into anything much but it is hard. I hate the 2ww.

@whatagloriousthingtobe happy to hear you are transferring next week and fingers crossed you will get your BFP, so you will not need a stimulated cycle.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok.

Sweet211 · 24/09/2021 12:26

@whatagloriousthingtobe why would they do a stimulated cycle? I did one years ago which I conceived then I had a fet done with out the buserelin this was few months ago and transferred a day 6 embryo it was a negative I was only on the oestrogen and the cyclogest. Next week I’m starting the buserelin so down regging like I did few years back. The oestrogen helps the lining that’s what I heard.

Sweet211 · 24/09/2021 12:28

Is anyone on any other meds when doing treatment I’m on blood pressure meds. Just hoping it doesn’t interfere with other meds. I’m so scared I’ve only 1 embryo left

summerson · 24/09/2021 12:46

I was going to do a stims cycle for FET too but got a "good enough" response last time so trying the usual FET route again this time.

They would do it if, like me, you don't really respond to synthetic estrogen supplementation, but more to self produced estrogen like you would in a stims cycle where your ovaries make the estrogen due to thinking that you have none. For situations when FET protocol doesn't produce a good lining but during stims you did.

During FET My lining gets to 6.5mm, but during stims it goes to a whopping 11mm+

summerson · 24/09/2021 12:48

The downside is that stims drugs are expensive and estrogen tablets are (relatively) cheap.

Also it's VERY time sensitive so if you ovulate over a weekend or on the wrong days it can all go wrong, whereas a FET can be moved however the doctor wishes. It's far less 'stable' to do it that way.

whatagloriousthingtobe · 24/09/2021 14:23

@Sweet211 yeah as @summerson has said they think I'm not receptive to oestrogen so I'm not absorbing it, so they wana try using my bodies own natural stuff to see if that helps my lining get any thicker

OP posts:
Sweet211 · 25/09/2021 00:28

Thank you @whatagloriousthingtobe and @summerson for your response. I’ve got pcos and I don’t know when I’m ovulating maybe that’s why I have to down regulate it’s a longer process have you ladies got day 6 embryos? I’ve only got the 1 left. Are you taking any other supplements

whatagloriousthingtobe · 25/09/2021 00:41

@Sweet211 I have pcos too. I down regulated the last two times, the first time my lining didn't respond at all and they put it down to my ovaries being 'awake' and releasing hormones or something so that fet was cancelled. You down regulate to basically put you in a menopause so they can take over your body with the drugs etc.
I've got one day 6 but couldn't tell you what I had transferred last time as they didn't tell me ! I've got 8 embryos in the freezer.
I just take vitamin d and folic acid
