FET September

Not sure if there is already a sept thread running?

I'm due to start down reg on the 16th looking to transfer September.
My last transfer was April, I've name changed since then. Last fet failed, I had issues getting my lining up to a suitable thickness and in the end they transferred at 8mm. I had spotting on and off and then I had an extremely faint positive, that same day I started bleeding heavily and it was all over.
I have 8 embryos left and just want to get going again now!

Anyone else starting a fet soon? Would be nice to have people to chat with whilst going through this again 😊

@CurlyJ21 well here's hoping they do something to help you 🤞🏻🤞🏻 how do they make you feel ? I feel the same in regards to giving anything a try if it'll help.

@Francesca6 welcome ! Very sorry to hear you had bad news. We're all here for you to talk to at anytime 🙂

@Faithful789 sorry you haven't had better news today, what was the measurement of your lining ? I'm hoping it starts to get nice and thick for you! What mg are you on again ?

Well I've started my tablets and patches today. Feeling really nauseous 😫 I can definitely feel the high dose I'm on this time compared to last time, also getting a lot of stabs in my pelvic area !

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

@Prayingforabubba because it’s a natural FET they won’t give me anything. If it does not thicken up on time they will cancel and I will start most likely start a new cycle on estrogen. I have come to a point where I will be ok with whatever option because I’ve always felt like my lining was an issue as it takes a while to get thick but the clinical team seem to think it’s fine.

@Francesca6 welcome to group! Sorry to hear about your failed attempt, I know the feeling. I hope you get your positive this time around.

@whatagloriousthingtobe my lining was 2mm which was shocking, it’s never been that low on CD 10. I’m just hoping this cycle is a delayed one and hence why it hasn’t started thickening. I’m not in any estrogen as it’s a natural cycle.

whatagloriousthingtobe · 12/09/2021 14:01

@Faithful789 Oh of course, sorry!! Already forgetting who's doing what !
I really hope it gets thicker for you, I guess it's a risk in any cycle especially a natural one.
When are you due to be scanned again ?

I've felt bloody awful on the estradiol, I think it was because we went straight to high dose from day 1 rather than a gradual build up that it really knocked me about, starting to level off now though and feeling better.

Hello everyone! How's it going for everyone?

@whatagloriousthingtobe hope you're feeling better. Im not on such a high dose but it's still got got to me.

@Faithful789 How are you doing? When are they going to check your lining. Hoping it is just delayed, fingers crossed for you.

In the last few days, I've stopped the buserelin injections and started on the glorious pessaries. Transfer is booked for tomorrow eek! Feeling super anxious as I wait for the phone call to tell me if the singular embryo we have left has thawed properly

Where's everyone else at in their FET process?

CurlyJ21 · 13/09/2021 11:02

@Dalooah that’s so exciting that you have your transfer tomorrow. Fingers crossed that you receive good news today! When do they phone you?

I have my transfer booked for Saturday and start progesterone tomorrow. My anxiety is definitely starting to build (and I don’t think the steroids are helping!)

Dalooah · 13/09/2021 12:52

@CurlyJ21 I wish I'd asked what time to expect the call but completely forgot in the rush of information. Anyone else who's reading this would be a good question!

Still waiting..... I'm beginning to feel like no news is not good news but also trying to convince myself their busy with egg collections!

whatagloriousthingtobe · 13/09/2021 12:55

@Dalooah @CurlyJ21 exciting your transfers are so soon! I still feel waaaay off, my first lining scan is next Monday on day 13, keeping everything crossed for a thick lining 🤞🏻🤞🏻

OP posts:
Dalooah · 13/09/2021 15:56

@whatagloriousthingtobe fingers crossed for you! I hope it's lovely and thick!!

Is it possible to ever have a lining that's TOO thick?

Also, they've called!! They were just busy with collections... I've been given a time to arrive and have to wait in the car park till they call again. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Prayingforabubba · 13/09/2021 21:23

@Dalooah good luck with your transfer tomorrow . How exciting!

@whatagloriousthingtobe what cycle day is your scan on?

I had my FET consultation today. We will be thawing my day 3 8 cell embryo and culturing it to day 5. If that fails they will thaw my day 6 embryo. These are the only two we have so I'm nervous that after two cycles, we will be left with nothing. I'm still behind you all. Waiting for my bleed so I can get started on the FET process.

whatagloriousthingtobe · 14/09/2021 06:46

@Dalooah thank you !!! And good luck for today I hope it all goes well 😌😌

OP posts:
whatagloriousthingtobe · 14/09/2021 06:47

@Prayingforabubba my first scan will be on day 13, it was either that or day 9 and we agreed day 9 for me would be too early !

@Prayingforabubba I'm sure they will thaw just fine ! Are you down regulating first?

CurlyJ21 · 14/09/2021 08:39

@Dalooah good luck today!

Dalooah · 14/09/2021 11:03

Thank you everyone! Transfers all done and has gone smoothly. Think the hardest part begins now.... wait wait wait

Faithful789 · 14/09/2021 14:45

@Dalooah congratulations on transfer! So exciting, hoping your 2ww flys by quickly Smile.

I went for my scan yesterday and still not much progress. My lining thickened up a little bit but it’s still below 8mm. I have another scan booked in for Friday and also monitoring LH surge in the meantime. If no movement this cycle will be cancelled which I have accepted, I will have to start again next month.

I've had two tBFP's from transfers at 6.5mm.... don't knock 8mm!!!!

One is 6 years old and one was a MMC at 10 weeks

whatagloriousthingtobe · 15/09/2021 14:19

@Dalooah woo 🥳 how're you feeling 1dpt?

@Faithful789 sorry to hear your lining hasn't thickened, I've got my fingers crossed for Friday ! I remember how disappointed I was when they cancelled mine before. I think I'm going to be more firm this time if it happens again. Is your clinics policy 8mm?

@summerson 6.5mm is amazing ! I've read stories online about pregnancies happening on a thin lining but everything else I've read says it's not likely so that given me some hope !

Hey guys!
Sorry I don't think I posted again after my first post haha. I've just be waiting for my period to arrive so not much was going on but it came on Monday had a scan today and I've started progynova. Have another scan booked for next Wednesday hopefully my lining will be thick enough then as last time I had to wait a few more days. Anyone got any tips to get your lining thick enough?

summerson · 15/09/2021 14:22

The only time I've ever had lining above 6.5mm is during stims cycles.... 7 X FET's and all the jazz pre-ivf and ivf never seen lining above 6.5mm... Hmm sadly!

Currently on a new FET cycle after MMC (FET) and hoping to get another juicy 6.5mm for transfer 🤞🤞🤞. I'll take it!

whatagloriousthingtobe · 15/09/2021 17:45

@summerson do you mind if I ask what they did to try and build your lining up? I have trouble with mine. This is my third fet, my first was cancelled as my lining wouldn't budge over 6mm, second one I just about got to 8mm but it was triple layered. It failed and they blamed my lining 😕

Sorry to hear about your mmc. Best of luck for this time round 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Alexm06 I tried all the usual pomegranate juice, raspberry leaf tea, hot water bottles but none of it worked for me just lots of estrogen !

OP posts:
summerson · 16/09/2021 05:21

@whatagloriousthingtobe

I have had cycles where i reached 6mm with lots of work, and then actually lining regressed and we abandoned that cycle. i actually ended up with lots of fluid in the uterus which doesn't go well for transfer either. Not sure why no response or why the fluid. The next cycle i got pregnant.

BUT, i just wanted to say that on that cycle it got to 6mm then regressed, we threw so much estrogen at it, but it didn't work. i was taking 6mg estrogen X 3 times a day instead of 2mg X 3 times a day. another IVF consultant I saw said that after 8mg daily it doesn't make any difference, but who knows.

Anyway, the next cycle we did 3 x 2mg daily and it got to 6.5mm and transfer was successful. Whether it's from that or not, on advice of "it starts with the egg/FET" I took L-argenine (a lot!) and Vitamin E until transfer day. When my supplement shipment arrives i'll be starting that again this cycle. Not that im advocating self-medicating and it may not have made a blind bit of difference!

I will add that although thin, it is always trilaminar (sp?) so at least something in my favour.

If you are able to, and you have embryo's "spare", i would go for it if you get past 6.5mm. You gotta be in it to win it. It's worked twice for me.

And my last 2 cents: every cycle is different on the exact same body, same meds. Sadly it never performs like the textbook says!!!!! If it did, we wouldn't be having IVF!!!!!!

whatagloriousthingtobe · 16/09/2021 08:03

@summerson that is interesting regarding it regressing. The clinic was worried that was going to happen to me if we didn't go for it at 8mm.
I'm on 16mg daily plus patches, a little worried now it's not going to help!
I have 8 embryos so definitely have enough spare, I do think this time I'm going to be firmer. I've also heard good things about doing stims rather than taking synthetic estrogen so that might be an option for another fet!

OP posts:
Faithful789 · 16/09/2021 14:35

@summerson that is amazing that you had a successful pregnancy with 6.5mm lining. My clinic will not transfer if it’s under 7mm but they prefer 8mm.

There’s been a sudden development since I last posted- at my last scan my lining was still thin and I didn’t have a dominant follicle. I got a positive LH surge on a ovulation test and was booked in for a scan today. I had it in mind that this cycle will be cancelled only to be told that my lining is 9mm and there is a dominant follicle. So I’m booked in for transfer next week.

It’s crazy what can happen in three days, the nurse was even shocked. It has made me a little bit anxious about the transfer because I’m wondering is everything really ok as things have progressed too quickly. This happened during my previous FET too.

whatagloriousthingtobe · 16/09/2021 16:28

@Faithful789 that's great news !!

OP posts:
Dalooah · 16/09/2021 19:10

@Faithful789 That's fab news!! And sometimes things do just move that quick! Woohoo! When's your transfer booked for?

@whatagloriousthingtobe Hope you're thinking positive for a lovely lining. When are they going to be checking?

2dpt and every twinge is causing me anxiety. And the last two days have felt long. I'm currently googling whether I should test early or not. 🤦‍♀️ I know I shouldn't but I don't think I can help myself. It's sort of like the gradual build up to the official test day and being given time to come to terms with the result?
