I definitely found last week waiting for the phone calls hard, you're just in limbo waiting to see if you make it over the next hurdle. Do you get a day 3 update or is it just day 5?

Im good thank you, woke up feeling quite happy and content ☺️ I feel like time is flying but I'm surprisingly not anxious.
I hope you're not waiting too long xx

@strawberrysummer19 forgot to tag you x

@VenusStarr I asked yesterday but the nurse said the call today will confirm it, she said usually you are back in 5 days and it's very rare it's 3? So not sure if i would get any update after today so I will make sure I ask that

She said it's before 12 but my paperwork said the call will be 8-10am ! Which is not long after my EG was at 2pm.....so we shall see x

That's good. I'm trying not to think about it and have made a list of all the things I need to do ( to keep my mind off it mainly ) as at least work work I'm busy and that helps but I'm annual leave today. I'm thinking a nice box set 😀

Xx

@Bells3032 I know I can't believe it's gone from follies not really growing, 3-4 at a push and then only one growing to this so it just shows stimming for longer can really work.

@TheDutchess3 I'm sorry, sending hugs x

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm on a bit of protein kick as I don't eat red meat at all, and a lot of our meals would be veggie/vegan normally, and I've started realising my protein intake is probably a bit lower at times. Big difference is now I make sure my lunchtime salad always involves either fish (smoked mackerel, prawns, salmon), chicken or beans/lentils. Then I make sure I have the opposite for dinner (so if I've had fish/chicken at lunch, I have beans/lentils in dinner, or meat with dinner if I've had a veggie lunch). Breakfast was already either porridge (with peanut butter or tahini and seeds on top) or egg (poaches or boiled). I already had yogurt normaly as desert at dinner (again with seeds on top) and I already regularly snacked on nuts during the day. I bought some pea protein the other day as well, and going to try homemade protein bars (basically just pea protein and peanut butter). I'm hoping I don't need another EC round, but I'm giving it a go and it probably doesn't hurt increasing my protein during this FET round either.

@strawberrysummer19 I felt shattered after EC and was still a bit dore the day after. I found by the next day I felt back to normal again physically. Just take it easy if you can and congrats on first update!

My AF finally seems to have stopped (dragged on longer than my usually super short periods this time) and I don't feel nearly as tired this morning so hope thats my body adjusting now to new meds. First lining scan is in a week, so filling my time with healthy eating, mindfulness, and a tone of end of year marking (which at least I get paid extra for, and pays for this round of meds at least!)

@Louweeze I had my EC this morning. They got 12 eggs. Waking up was pretty shit I had a panic attack and my blood pressure was through the roof but I think that's because when I woke up I heard someone say trauma and I thought they were talking about me haha. I'm quite uncomfortable now how you feeling?

Report
Louweeze · 27/05/2021 12:36

@Alexm06 thats amazing (12 eggs not the panic attack). I was fine after it they said I lost blood during the procedure and were about to do a stitch when it stopped on its own which is lucky! I feel a bit sore like a dull ache in my stomach but otherwise fine just anxious to find out how many eggs are mature its going to be a tricky few days

Alexm06 · 27/05/2021 12:42

@Louweeze they said lost a bit of blood too but didn't say anything about stitches. Yeah I just want the next few days over with. I say this and then will want to 2ww to be over with. It's just a circle really haha

Great news @Louweeze I got a call the next day with my fertilisation report. Hope you get some rest.

Good news for you too @Alexm06, sorry you had a panic attack ❤️ hope you're feeling better now.

I had bleeding after too, but it was light spotting by the time I left, so hopefully the same for you both. X

@strawberrysummer19 Well done! Great update! I usually feel very nauseous after EC but that’s because I’m at high risk of OHSS. I usually drink pints of coconut water and that does seem to help a lot.

@Louweeze and @Alexm06 congrats on egg collection! Hope you get nice updates tomorrow!

@Bells3032 I’m really sorry your cycle was cancelled. The waiting is one of the hardest bits of this process, especially once you thought you had gotten started...but I admire your positivity! Hope you can get started again soon!

@TheDutchess3 I’m sorry to hear your result. I have had countless BFN after FET’s and it never gets easier, it just floors you every time. Hope you get to go again soon!

As for me, I had another scan and blood test today. My lining has grown some (it was between 7 and 8mm on the ultrasound, the range being due to my uterus contracting which makes measurements a bit imprecise). I was given one more day of injections and then go back in tomorrow for another scan and if everything looks good, ie if my lining gets up to 7.5 at least, ideally 8, then I get to trigger. I did have another curveball thrown at me today as my bloods showed my progesterone levels were 3.2 and they have to remain under 5 for the transfer to happen, so I really, really hope they don’t surge before I trigger tomorrow. If they do, my lining could become less receptive to implantation as an early progesterone surge can cause it to start prepping for implantation too soon and then it would be out of sync with the embryo. There are so many things that can go wrong and I feel like over time I have experienced literally every single one of them... one more nerve wracking day to go!

Well, my day has not gone to plan!!

I've felt severe pains in my belly, so much I've been in tears. I've been sicky feeling since coming around yesterday so I called the clinic and they said I could have a warm bath ( as was told not to bath yesterday due to infection) as that always helps my tummy aches

The clinic said it sounds like OHSS 😞😞😞so I have to update Saturday as if I feel Ill transfer cannot go ahead!!

Anyway in the bath ( which has helped loads )
I've been sick ever so little amount, just watery and 2 lots of diarrhoea ( sorry tmi ) so I'm guessing it is OHSS
I've just emailed the clinic with the update

Has anyone had OHSS and been well enough to do transfer?

She did explain the seriousness of going ahead if I had OHSS and said I need to be honest and tell them if I still feel like this - which of course I would!!!

I feel so upset x

hello all

back from the clinic for an update on what comes next. it's not as bad we feared. I have to take the progonova from CD 21 until my next period and then i can start again in June.

A bit annoying as DH's cousin's wedding in slam dunk in the middle so lots of family events (likely inside) we can't miss.

I am less concerned about covid as we are both fully vaxxed but they do do temp checks at every appointment. so that's a tad anxiety producing.

Just to clarify my last comment, I didn't do it IN the bath! I did get out lol!

Can anyone help with the possible OHSS issue
I feel better but not 100%

I know time will tell but reading up on it i don't even want to go ahead Monday....it sounds horrific but I'm also sad. How long would
I have to wait for FET?

Hey @strawberrysummer19 I'm so sorry you are feeling rubbish, it sounds awful x I was told at my last stimming scan I was at risk of OHSS and that I would need to do a freeze all, which I did (froze 2 4BC embies, a bit worried about their grades 😞). I was allowed to start my meds for my FET at my next bleed, which I have been worried was too early but touch wood all is well. So my EC was 12th May and I started progynova it on 20th May, I haven't seen anyone else start FET that quickly but my dr has been amazing so far so trusting him. Hope you feel better soon xxx

@StrongEagle that sounds good you could start so soon. Do you mind me asking what meds you take for a FET ? As in injections etc
I just feel disheartened that I thought I was done with meds, had a lovely lining and possibly OHSS has made it not happen for us

Am I right thinking it definitely can't go ahead with the symptoms I've had already even though I may feel better ?

My heads all over the place

X

@strawberrysummer19 I am taking 4 tablets a day of 2mg progynova and then I have a scan after taking it 11days and then I think I start of my progesterone pesseries. I dont think I developed OHSS in the end because I didn't get sick so I'm not sure, I read a lot about it though because I was really worried. It's horrible if you have to change your plans and wait longer but see how you feel and what the drs recommend, you might feel better by Saturday and then can still go ahead x but even if you need to wait it won't be for too long x
