@StrongEagle ah I see that doesn't sound too bad then, I can get my head around that

Yes that's true. It's just scared me feeling so unwell today

@strawberrysummer19 😞 being unwell is the worst! Did the nurses say what to do to feel better? I have read about coconut water, salty snacks and drinks with electrolytes apparently they help x

Report
strawberrysummer19 · 27/05/2021 17:16

@StrongEagle she said plenty of fluids - 3 litres a day, paracetamol every 4 hours.
No hot water bottles which I've had religiously since EC! To eat protein but didn't mention any of that

That's helpful to know, thank you x

@Tarsette Positive sounding news with your lining! Hopefully they can go ahead with cycle. That's interesting about progesterone, I wish my clinic had checked mine as my AF came ultra-early in my frsh transfer and I suspect my progesterone levels weren't right.

@strawberrysummer19 I would say make sure you're well so you don't waste a beautiful embryo :) FET is just like IVF in your drugs wont be the same as someone elses drugs! Some women get lucky and do a natural cycle. I'm doing an HRT FET cycle with downreg (Fyremedal - thats an injecting one), oastrogen (elleste solo tablets, its like @StrongEagle's progynova, but there is a shortage of progynova so I got given a substitute) and progesterone (lubion injections and Utrogestan suppositries)

@2mumlife yes I will definitely make sure I am well. I feel so much better already but I'm still worried as I obviously have the symptoms so I wouldn't want to risk anything

I suppose Saturday is a long time away and I've told myself I really need to feel better from
Now and tomorrow and go with what my clinic say

Would hate the thought of having it whilst pregnant - and I can always do a FET

I'm so sorry to hear you've been so unwell today @strawberrysummer19 ❤️ I hope you are on the mend soon. It will be disappointing for you if you can't have a fresh transfer but if that gives you more time to get better, that might not be a bad thing. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞 xx

Can I ask you all lovely ladies advice on supplements please

I take coq10 and DHEA and I asked the clinic yesterday if I should stop them and were surprised when they said take them still until pregnancy test ?

I know I should have faith in my clinic and I really do! Just thought why not stop now when I have no eggs inside me now and potentially pregnant soon ( if transfer goes ahead ) when there's no evidence if it's safe in pregnancy?

Has anyone else clinic told them differently? X

@VenusStarr thank you lovely. I'm trying to be positive and see what my body does over the next day or so!! X

I take ubiquinol but stopped on egg collection day @strawberrysummer19 I don't take dhea so I'm not sure. I didn't ask the clinic though, just decided to stop them.

🙏 That you heal well and quickly xx

@strawberrysummer19 my consultant told me (and DP) to take 400mg of coenzyme Q10 per day and she hasn't told me when to stop. I might email and ask it probably sounds stupid but I didn't even think about whether its safe in pregnancy

Louweeze · 27/05/2021 18:25

I so take foliate (obviously) and vit D. Is anyone else taking any other supplements?

Louweeze · 27/05/2021 18:25

*also

It's a good question isn't it. I've had to ask.

I take vit d, a pregnancy vit so that covers the folic acid and A-Z vit. Omega 3 and vit c.
( and DHEA and 300mg co10 just not sure about them now - think I will stop )

I've taken them since TTC so hopefully now all nicely in my system x

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/05/2021 19:12

@Louweeze folic acid, vit d, ubiquinol and alpha lipoc for me

Report
2mumlife · 27/05/2021 20:59

@Louweeze I'm on pregnancy vit pill, and supplement with nutritional yeast. @strawberrysummer19 I took coenzyme Q10 before my EC on fresh cycle and stopped after egg retrieval.

Oh @strawberrysummer19 I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been unwell, lovely. Keeping everything crossed that you feel better soon & that you can keep moving forward with this cycle. Make sure you look after yourself ♥️ Xx

I think I'll stop coq10 also.

I'm feeling better in respect that I haven't had any more sickness or any diarrhoea and I've drank so many fluids, can't stop going to the loo.

All I feel now is tender and sore and bloated which I don't know if it's from OHSS or EC itself.

I guess clinic will advise me when I call Saturday but I've been doing my head in about if it is OHSS or not and I know the sensible thing to do is probably not go ahead with transfer ( if it were down to me ) x

Report
Tarsette · 28/05/2021 01:55

@strawberrysummer19 OHSS is indeed serious. I have had it twice (once mild and once medium). It involves feeling super bloated (as in you look 6 months pregnant, oh the irony!), feeling nauseous and actually throwing up (I once threw up 12 times straight over the course of 2 hours) and generally feeling unwell. There are no real remedies other than drinking lots of kudos especially those with lots of electrolytes like Gatorade or coconut water. If you feel much better 3 days after EC, that probably means it’s over and you can go ahead with the transfer. If you are still poorly, I wouldn’t because if you do get pregnant the extra hormones produced by your body will make your OHSS worse. I have heard horror stories of women who had OHSS for the full first trimester!

In terms of supplements, I do multivitamin, fish oil, ubiquinol (same as Coq10), l-arginine and keep up only the first two after ovulation or EC day.

@Tarsette thanks for that. I literally feel like I don't know what I'd do. I'm guessing I will see how I am today? Even though the clinic said to call them tomorrow with an update.

If at any point I feel unwell today then I was using that as my indicator even though I have Saturday and Sunday to feel better but like you have said if I'm not unwell today then it means it's leaving my system maybe ? It hasn't been that long since EC, when I had those symptoms it had only been 24hrs.

The clinic may take that decision out of my hands I guess.

Keeping up the fluids and resting so I'll see how I get on as I've only just woken up and touch wood feel ok but you can never tell 1st thing.

X

@strawberrysummer19 I emailed my clinic last night and they've just replied. My consultant said stop taking the Co Q10 now I've had EC.

Report
strawberrysummer19 · 28/05/2021 07:54

@Louweeze that's interesting because mine said take up to pregnancy test?! It's horrible to then decide I'm not going to take their advice but I'm going to stop. It makes sense doesn't it.
Might just decrease my DHEA also because I take such a high dose I don't just wanna stop and have withdrawals if it works like that but I feel I shouldn't be taking that either really. It's all for egg quality so I don't see a reason why to keep taking it x

Report
Louweeze · 28/05/2021 07:58

@strawberrysummer19 it does make sense to stop doesn't it? Because as you say it's all for egg quality! You've got to do whatever you feel is best, it is your body! You could always ask your clinic to explain why they want you to stay on it?

@Louweeze I will do, especially when it's so up in the air if I'm even transferring Monday or not so I'll see how it goes over the next couple of days x

Let me share with you…I’m in my mild 30’, I married at 24. TTC for 6 years, tried different treatments, we both have some health issues, I had myoma. All we get from that period of time - broken promises, the doctors were dollar centered. Then we decided to try IVF, the first round we took at Biotex - it didn’t worked, same with the second attempt, and on the third round - we succeed! I still remember the doctor’s eyes, who confirmed our pregnancy! well, it was not easy, we had some concerns and worries, some times I even felt the miscommunication between us and medical stuff. But at the end everything was good! Even great! I delivered my baby naturally!

@strawberrysummer19 sorry to hear you are feeling so rough. Hope you feel better soon.

I'd keep taking until transfer just in case it doesn't work you don't want to restart but to be honest i find doctors disagree on just about everything so think do what you feel comfy with
