Hello 👋🏼!! About to embark on the absolutely terrifying process of IVF in June (once my next cycle finishes) and though it might be nice to get chatting to some people going through the same? Meds due tomorrow and bloods booked in for Saturday - Let me know if you are in the same boat would be great to get some support from some fellow infertility warriors ❤️x

@PuffinPippin welcome!!! Yes stims knocked me for 6. I was shattered (though to be fair I’m worse now!) and felt like a blimp!!!

Kemqueen · 24/06/2021 13:24

@busybee2102 wow! Your lines are progressing positively! Am so happy for you. Congratulations

busybee2102 · 24/06/2021 13:36

@RiverRiot I suppose that’s why they don’t want us testing early - comparing with others and things not being the same!

PuffinPippin · 24/06/2021 14:11

@busybee2102 - thanks!

I'm high risk of OHSS so I'll be going straight for freezing rather than a fresh transfer...IF I get to that stage!

It's really hard not to think too far ahead.

Kemqueen · 24/06/2021 14:16

Hi guys, is anyone on utrogestan? I started using it through the front yesterday evening. I used one this morning but to my surprise after roughly an hour, I went to the toilet and observed that it’s coming out through the back as a yellowish liquid! 😱. Is that normal pls?

Coops0406 · 25/06/2021 12:32

Hi all, sorry for being quiet on here.
Unfortunately it was BFN today too so that's us done for the timebeing. It has been so good being in this thread, the support has been amazing and I really wish you all the absolute best in your quests for parenthood. I'm so pleased for you all with how things are progressing and may see some of you who have FET later this year when we embark on our next cycle ❤️

RiverRiot · 25/06/2021 16:02

Oh @Coops0406 I am so, so very sorry to see this. It’s just incredibly unfair.
Sending you so much love at this time and biggest hopes and well wishes for your next cycle. ❤️
Please look after yourself in the coming days and weeks. And tonight, drink all of the wine. 🍷
I hope to get to see your next chapter on your journey to motherhood on these boards, you will get there! xxx

Coops0406 · 25/06/2021 16:51

@RiverRiot thank you so much...it's a bummer but it was inevitable...we were getting through each stage by the skin of our teeth! Luckily the follow up is on 7th July so not too far away and I also got in touch with my nhs consultant to go through things and she is going to see me on the 12th July. So hopefully being productive and getting prepared for next round...for now though, it's fizzy Friday!!! 😍

chloedancer897 · 25/06/2021 17:53

Hi all, sorry if this is a stupid question but I have my consent appointment on 30th July and was just wondering when do you start all the meds? I'm due AF that week and I keep thinking maybe I should ask for an earlier appointment and then I can start treatment sooner? Do you usually start on the first day of your cycle? I'm getting quite nervous about it all now.

Luz192 · 25/06/2021 23:15

@chloedancer897 I had my baseline scan and started stims on day 3 of my period, however I had done 9 days of norethisterone (birth control) before that to suppress my own cycle. I know some protocols skip the birth control bit, so I think it will depend on what protocol you have

busybee2102 · 26/06/2021 04:55

@chloedancer897 Do you have your meds yet? Also, have you had any other appointments with your clinic, for things like blood tears etc (pre-treatment appointment)? It also depends on what type of cycle / protocol you are on. I was on a long protocol, so a period of down regulation followed by stims. AF came on the 19th April, I started the down reg meds on 9th May, did three weeks of down regulation, then started stims. Had egg collection on the 9th June and transfer on the 14th.

@Luz192 says, they may want you on birth control first, although I didn’t take that for my cycle as I can’t take the combined pill (I get migraines) so I just went straight into down reg on day 21.

If you are on a similar protocol then it is possible you will start meds this cycle.

RiverRiot · 26/06/2021 08:38

@Coops0406 Yay for Friday Fizz! 🤗 Hope it was lush. And I’m so pleased your reviews are so soon.

@Kemqueen Yes progesterone can cause diarrhoea or on the other hand constipation. Isn’t IVF just lovely? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Otter3101 · 26/06/2021 09:04

@Coops0406 so sorry for your news on this round but things sound productive and positive going forward.....here's to you 🥂( with my imaginary glass of fizz!)
Stims have started; third set of injections tonight. The boyf is doing well, he is hesitant and hates the thought of hurting me. It doesn't hurt at all to be honest, it's just the anticipation!
I have a question; what exercise did everyone do during stims, if any? I have cut back on my cardio/hiit classes but was in a yoga class yesterday and got really paranoid that I was somehow twisting inside me and ruining things etc. Did people abstain completely or carry on as normal? Much thanks xx

RiverRiot · 26/06/2021 13:59

@Otter3101 My clinic said to carry on as normal but not to go crazy. Moderate, low impact exercise is absolutely fine.

You may want to tell your yoga instructor that you’re doing IVF so they can modify the movements for you. Not that normal yoga will cause any harm, it’s more that as your ovaries grow it may become uncomfortable to bend & twist etc. Also, I’d personally err on the side of caution when it comes to hot yoga but that’s up to you.

Enjoy the exercise, it’s good to keep active, and try not to worry overly.

Kemqueen · 26/06/2021 18:42

@Coops0406 so sorry about the news. I would say never give up. There is always light at the end of the tunnel girl.

It’s my day 3 today after EC and am so fully bloated like I can’t even explain. I was asked to drink lots of fluid but my tummy is full already😂 but had to force myself to drink fluid! It’s so uncomfortable. I haven’t receive any call today from my clinic. I hope its going well🤞 Am so nervous because they haven’t tell me the quality of the eggs 😩

chloedancer897 · 26/06/2021 18:49

@Luz192 @busybee2102 thank you both for taking the time to answer me. I have had all of my tests but they haven't told me what protocol yet. I suppose that'll be discussed at my consent appointment? I will get the meds that day but I just don't want to wait much longer to start treatment so if my appointment is on 30th July, it could potentially be months before my EC? I stupidly assumed it would all go very quickly after that 😢

busybee2102 · 26/06/2021 19:25

@Kemqueen Look after yourself - if you are really uncomfortable to the point of not benign able to drink properly maybe speak to your clinic? Did they mention OHSS to you? Always better to be safe than sorry I say!

As for the quality of the eggs, we were told how many we got right after collection, and then had a phone call the day after telling us how many had fertilised. Quite common for it then to be ‘no news is good news’ until the day of transfer.

@chloedancer897 It will all depend on the protocol they are putting you on - if short protocol then it’ll all happen quite quickly. Even the long protocol didn’t feel that long. When I looked back over my dates to send that message to you, I was quite shocked that it was back in April that I had my last ‘normal’ AF! Time has really flown with it all.

Kemqueen · 26/06/2021 19:39

@busybee2102 thanks for your response 😊 doctor never mention OHSS at all. I was only advise to drink lots of fluid. My doctor got me in for a scan second day of EC and she never mentioned anything of concern aside drink lots of fluid to help with bloating.
Yes, I was told how many eggs was collected on same day of EC and received a call the next day to tell me how many has fertilised normally. But I read a post that they will call on day 3 to give update on the quality of the fertilised eggs which I never receive. Maybe it’s my nervousness 😔 But just like you said, finger crossed and believe ‘no news is good news’

RiverRiot · 27/06/2021 07:08

Sorry to hear you’re feeling unwell @Kemqueen. I agree with @busybee2102 that it’s worth flagging how you’re feeling with your clinic, especially if you also have any of the following: a temperature/shortness of breath/difficulty passing or concentrated urine.
I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about but as BB says it’s better to be safe than sorry.

In terms of quality/grades, it depends on the hospital as to whether they give you a day 3 update. I’m with the NHS and didn’t find this out until 5mins before transfer on day 5.

Welcome @chloedancer897 I also found out my protocol at consent signing. If you have a normal egg reserve, regular periods and are relatively young you will probably be on short protocol but the Dr will discuss that with you.
Are you private? If so, I’d assume things will move pretty quickly after that, especially if they do give you the meds that day. 🤞🏼

chloedancer897 · 27/06/2021 11:42

@Kemqueen @RiverRiot thank you both so much. I'm private and my cycles are regular. Last egg reserve was normal so fingers crossed for short cycle. Thank you so much for being so helpful. I feel very lost at the minute and alone with all of this

PurpleUnicorn01 · 27/06/2021 12:28

How are you all?

KellyM88 · 27/06/2021 12:36

TMI - HELP

Hey! I can't contact our clinic so thought the next best thing is you guys you have lived through it.
So I am now 6dp5dt and yesterday evening a had a small bleed then brown crinone discharge, this morning I have had pink, bright red blood when wiping and a leak splodge after having a wee, on and off.

I have obviously been very naughty and tested with a 10ium cheap test yesterday afternoon and this morning and it's negative.

What should I do speak to the clinic in morning find someone to talk to today if so who?
Just see how it goes?
Do you think I'm out? (The hardest part about that is with had a 5 day transfer with my little girl who gained her shiny wings last year)

I'm running on now thanks for reading 💜

RiverRiot · 27/06/2021 13:11

@KellyM88 I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter. ❤️

Even if your clinic is closed today they should still have an out of hours phone number you can call.
Spotting isn’t always cause for concern (I still am at 13dp5dt) however, as it’s red I would definitely check in with your clinic just to be safe. They may up your progesterone or something, I’m not quite sure.

Let us know how you get on and am keeping everything crossed for you. xx

KellyM88 · 27/06/2021 13:14

@RiverRiot on the card the clinic gave it just says Monday to Saturday out of hours maybe I will still try 🤣
Thank you so much for the reply! X

KellyM88 · 27/06/2021 13:25

@RiverRiot phoned and they put the call through but they don't work a Sunday brilliant so very helpful!!
Thank you 💜
