Hello 👋🏼!! About to embark on the absolutely terrifying process of IVF in June (once my next cycle finishes) and though it might be nice to get chatting to some people going through the same? Meds due tomorrow and bloods booked in for Saturday - Let me know if you are in the same boat would be great to get some support from some fellow infertility warriors ❤️x

@RiverRiot I would stick with them as they only went off info passed on from preston nhs, but I would want more checks doing, including all the original checks that preston did, and they will now know what hasn't worked and maybe try to figure out why...that's my thought process. Nurses have been so lovely but there has been a lack of info...maybe I don't ask or push enough too 🤷🏾‍♀️

ManoloBlahnik1 · 23/06/2021 13:02

Hi everyone!

Sending positive vibes to you all. Had my EC yesterday and have 4 embryos out of 6 eggs collected which I'm chuffed to bits with x

Ofpalestsilver · 23/06/2021 13:28

@RiverRiot sorry I realised that was very opaque. Yes I have a conclusive BFP so let’s hope it stays that way! Delighted!

@ManoloBlahnik1 welcome and congrats! That sounds great. Good luck with development over the next 5 days!

Ofpalestsilver · 23/06/2021 13:30

@Coops0406 is the Chester clinic an NHs one or a private one that does NHS as well? If you aren’t happy with the service then don’t feel bad about moving. This is so important and you deserve to get the best service.

Ofpalestsilver · 23/06/2021 13:31

@RiverRiot when is your OTD? I had spotting and thought it was AF but it might be implantation bleeding. My test at 9dp5dt was super faint but much clearer at 13dp.

Coops0406 · 23/06/2021 13:43

@Ofpalestsilver Chester CARE is private but takes nhs referred patients. I like them but I do feel a bit like there hasn't been much of an explanation about things and I only had a day 6 scan because they were expecting OHSS! Normally they just do a scan on day 10! But all the nurses since EC have been lovely, given me information etc...just not much before then!

@ManoloBlahnik1 great news! I hope the next 5 days go well for you 😊

Ofpalestsilver · 23/06/2021 13:49

@Coops0406 worth having an initial chat with someone about what the private care is like. They might offer less on NhS than private (which is awful but a sad fact of life). A baseline and a day 6 should be a given particularly for people like us who have various issues (no natural ovulation in my case) that need checking up on. Well good luck with whatever you decide x

RiverRiot · 23/06/2021 14:13

@Coops0406 Fair enough. Did they up your meds on day 6?
I think repeating the tests is a good idea. If going private for the next round, I’d at the very least get them to do these tests for free because something just doesn’t seem quite right. Perhaps that’s something you can discuss at your review although tbh I’m (not at all secretly) hoping for a plot twist for you too! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Ofpalestsilver OTD is Friday so 9dp5dt today. The FRER is faint but clear, no squinting and then zippo on the others. 🤷🏻‍♀️ My embryo was already hatching when transferred so I’d assume implantation bleed would have happened last week if anything. Not sure if it works like that though? 🤔
I actually think it’s more to do with the goddamn pessaries. I was losing so much of them before switching to the back door. Now I’m just going to beat myself up for not ‘braving the dark side’ earlier. 🤦🏻‍♀️

@ManoloBlahnik1 Excellent fertilisation rate! Best of luck for the next five days, try and keep yourself distracted if you can. Easier said than done though.

Ofpalestsilver · 23/06/2021 14:25

@RiverRiot no! Please don’t blame yourself for the pessaries thing. It might not just have been this embryo’s time and I’m sure you did everything right. Loads of people do it front door and have the messy experience. My bleeding was 6dp5dt… quite late I thought… hmm.

Coops0406 · 23/06/2021 14:36

@Ofpalestsilver I'm ringing a few other places as there are some great ones in Manchester and Liverpool so if we're paying might as well make sure we are fully happy with what we are paying for!

@RiverRiot 🤣❤️ I love your not so secret optimism 😍 with regard to the meds they said there is no point upping them at day 6 apparently, unless I guess to try and push some smaller follicles on...I don't think I had the follicles of size to help push on though so maybe why it wasn't appropriate...again though, no full explanation from them for it

Ofpalestsilver · 23/06/2021 14:42

@Coops0406 I don’t mean to pretend I’m some kind of expert but my medication was upped on day 6 because I had one dominant and lots of teeny fellas (or girls!) They were really small, like 6mm or something, and they eventually grew with the mix of Menopur and Gonal F rather than just Meno. But of course we have different profiles so your clinic might have had a reason for that if you have low AMH.

Coops0406 · 23/06/2021 17:18

@Ofpalestsilver I have high AMH for my age so they were expecting loads! And I think maybe the fear that could still happen after day 6 scan maybe they didn't think it wise to up them? No idea! They haven't explained much! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Ofpalestsilver · 23/06/2021 19:25

@Coops0406 bodies are flippin weird things. That’s the only thing I’m concluding from any of this!

Otter3101 · 23/06/2021 19:38

Evening ladies. So the period started this morning so the injections start tomorrow. Me and the OH watched the videos tonight and he was like 'how far do I stick the needle in?' Ermmm, I think all the way!
So I am injecting 3 a day; Menopur, Gonal F and Buselerin. Quite nervous now, don't want to mess it up. I have 3 progress scans booked for next week and, if all looks well, will have collection the week after. I am hoping for lots of follicles this cycle as on the 3 scans I've had previously there have only been around 6 in total. I am doing this privately, it's my first time (I am too old for NHS funded treatment)
@Coops0406 @RiverRiot I'm sorry about your updates, I will cross/caress everything for those lines to appear and get stronger xx

Otter3101 · 23/06/2021 19:41

Oh and my scan was good; the nurse said my lining was fine (11.7mm) and she worked out what tools to use for ET as I have quite a tilted uterus! There was a lot of fiddling down there and changing of speculums but she finally got in! At the end she said 'well tolerated, well done' that made me chuckle! X

Coops0406 · 23/06/2021 20:21

@Otter3101 yay to starting injections! Can't believe you have 3 a day, that's tough going! Great that you gave 3 progress scans too, sounds like you are in good hands...keep us updated 😊

Ofpalestsilver · 23/06/2021 21:49

@Otter3101 3 injections you are hardcore! They become second nature when you get going on them. What’s buserlin for? You’re on your way and I’m excited for you!

Otter3101 · 23/06/2021 22:21

@Ofpalestsilver I've just had to look it up! It's the same as Suprecur. I think it stops your natural hormones which releases the egg so that the other 2 hormones can do their work and stimulate all the follicles? I really should have asked more questions! I just have blind faith in these consultants and nurses who have said all these words to me and given me an invoice 😂😂

Ofpalestsilver · 23/06/2021 22:28

@Otter3101 haha they know their stuff! I’m just curious as I didn’t take it!

RiverRiot · 24/06/2021 08:51

@Otter3101 Lolz! They seem very thorough which is great. Yay for injections! They were weirdly my favourite part of this crazy process because it actually feels like you’re finally doing something.
I can’t speak for the other two but the Gonal F (pen) does need to go all the way in. Pinch the skin and the needle is so fine and small you shouldn’t feel much.

@Ofpalestsilver Thank you I needed that. I know what will be will be, I’m just very impatient and would like an answer either way but one more day to go I guess.
Is it your OTD today or was that yesterday?

@Coops0406 Hey it happened for Silver, why not you? Hopefully your 25mIU is a bag of shite and you get a better answer on your Clear Blue. You deserve it after your Alton Towers extreme roller coaster so far!

@Kemqueen Hope your EC went well and you’re doing ok?

@busybee2102 Hope your lines are continuing to please. One more day to go before it’s official! 🤗

So an early cheapy and normal cheapy for me this morning, v.v. faint line and a squinty McSquinterson respectively. Gawd knows what’s going on 🤷🏻‍♀️. I guess this is a big fat “This is why we tell you not to test early!” 🙄 Hopefully the clinic can shed some light on it tomorrow though. 🤞🏼

Kemqueen · 24/06/2021 09:34

@RiverRiot egg collection almost forfeit my whole treatment but I thank God there was a solution. I missed calculate the day to take my trigger shot. I was suppose to take it on Sunday midnight but I put my mind on Monday midnight. By the time I remembered that I’ve missed calculate the day, it was too late to take it. My doctor did a scan to check the follicles and thank God, everything were still in place and I was asked to take cetrotide immediately and then retake the trigger shot at a set time. I’ve cried my eyes out!!!
But thank God, I’ve done the collection yesterday and all went well! Although low number of eggs (7) was collected but 6 has fertilised. It’s grace! Am so happy now.

Luz192 · 24/06/2021 09:53

@Coops0406 I have a high AMH too, and my clinic (NHS but they work with a private clinic) had me do a scan 3 days after starting stims. I don't even think that was unique to me - they had Day 3 printed on all the standard pages. They upped my meds at that point because not much had happened. And then I had scans every other day after that. I mean I did end up getting OHSS lol, so maybe increased too much - but they did get good results from collection. I would definitely look at other clinics, personally.

busybee2102 · 24/06/2021 11:26

How’s everyone feeling? I woke up feeling a bit nauseous this morning (properly psychosomatic!) and I have sparkly eyes today like I’m on the verge of a migraine… 😬 all good otherwise.

@Kemqueen omg that sounds stressful! Good number of eggs though, it’s quality over quantity that’s important! We had 8 collected, 6 fertilised and 4 made it to good quality or better as 5 day blasts.

@RiverRiot yep lines still going good! The clinic phoned me yesterday to check in. I missed my favourite nurse twice (I’m a teacher and can’t pick up in lessons) and so spoke to a rather more stern nurse - I admitted to testing early and I could picture the face she made 😂 Progression pic attached :)

@Ofpalestsilver I’m so happy for you!!!

PuffinPippin · 24/06/2021 12:31

HI everyone

Is it ok if I join the thread? It sounds like you guys are a bit ahead of me.

I started stims last Monday (short protocol) -day 11 now. Had a scan yesterday and due another one tomorrow which will decide about egg collection timing.

I can't believe how tired I'm feeling at the moment - can't stop yawning! Did you have this too? I'm also feeling bloated and have a sore back too!

Sorry I'll stop moaning now! :)

Sending positive vibes to all of you and your cycles!
x

RiverRiot · 24/06/2021 12:37

@Kemqueen Oh blimey that sounds beyond stressful! 😱 I’m so glad it worked out for you and you got a great fertilisation rate too!

@busybee2102 Ha! Amazing line progression, so happy for you! 🤗
So for comparison, my 8&9dp5dt FRER tests look kind of like yours at 6&7dpt. 🤔
I’m really hoping things fall into place tomorrow, one way or the other.
