Not sure if this exists already, but I wondered if people fancied a thread just to vent and/or talk about things that have happened in their day that have either caused them to get upset or think a certain way due to fertility issues, regardless of where you are in the journey.

I feel like my friends who haven't got through this could never understand how infertility affects pretty much every part of my life now!

For example today I attempted to cook something complicated for some family members, it's quite rare that I cook for others even before the pandemic and I only make simple meals for myself. Anyway everything that could go wrong did and what I managed to salvage was largely uneaten.
I told my DH maybe the universe thinks I shouldn't have children because I'm so undomestic and can't cook for other people!

@CurbsideProphet and @Roo45

Thanks for your input. I have a scan in the next couple of days as already booked so will see what that says. I don't think its OHSS as the issue was my follicles a couple of days before were not very many and quite small hence the increase in meds dose. I wondering if I've just had a bit of a rubbish reaction to the meds and if others had similar but seems like what I had might be a bit unusual!

However I would have thought headaches and vomiting were common side effects of a lot of drugs! And isn't there some school of thought associating migraines and hormones? I'm just not sure I could go through what I went through today again. Keeping my fingers crossed tonights dose goes well

@Roo45 I've put the post up on the main forum now

Roo45 · 15/11/2021 19:42

@BlueSilver23 it would make sense that hormonal drugs could cause a migraine actually! I just thought you might get more replies from others who may have had the same experience on main forum that was the only reason I suggested it, do keep us updated though xx

Hope you're getting on ok today @BlueSilver23

BlueSilver23 · 17/11/2021 09:02

@CurbsideProphet thanks for checking!

Ok headache wise yes but have now developed something of a reaction to the cetrotide which I started yesterday, hives, fast heart rate and itching all over! clinic have advised to continue as normal, piriton and to go to A&E if it gets any worse........ that doesn't make me feel better about my dose due this morning. I thought we were supposed to stop if there was rash/itching/tachycardia anywhere other than the injection site?

I seem to be reacting to all the stim drugs which isn't great, feeling rather fed up. Keeping fingers crossed this cetrotide dose goes well this morning

LucyLocket2021 · 17/11/2021 17:16

@BlueSilver23 that sounds dreadful - hope you feel better ASAP and that dose this morning was ok? More meds and trips to A&E is the last thing you need…. I don’t know specifics re: whether or not you should continue with the same. I would have hoped clinic could advise. How stressful

I had my transfer today.. I don’t know how I feel. Clinic were happy with how embryo defrosted and my lining, but I can’t shake the feeling that it’s all destined to fail and a waste of time. Trying to keep reminding myself that I’m fortunate to have had something to transfer and that lots of people would be delighted

CurbsideProphet · 17/11/2021 21:34

@LucyLocket2021 I was thinking about you today. I have the same feeling about my upcoming FET. However I try to remind myself that those feelings are a subconscious way of trying to protect myself from more hurt. But obviously it won't hurt me any less if I prepare for it all to fail and it does.

Roo45 · 18/11/2021 14:45

@LucyLocket2021 and @CurbsideProphet good luck!
I've started my third cycle now and I'm responding slower to the drugs than previous cycles which has never happened before, they haven't changed the doses so I don't know why it's happened and I'm getting quite panicked about it too!

Thanks everyone, feeling a bit grotty with all the medications on top of the stims but (just about!) hanging in there, clinic said to carry on as normal but follicles a little less than we would have liked on scan today so waiting to hear if I need to up the stims doses. Got a cracker of a swollen bruise over half my stomach thanks to that injection this morning though)

@LucyLocket2021
Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Sounds good so far

@Roo45 Best of luck with this cycle, I had 5-6 follicles at the start and they upped my dose slightly and then I had 30 two days later. Granted not of all these will be large enough (think only about a third will be viable) but a lot can change in a few days. Is your clinic upping your doses at all? I'm sure the slightly slower is response nothing to worry about, sometimes the old ovaries may just need a couple of days to wake up a bit!

BlueSilver23 · 18/11/2021 16:34

Just realised I didn't explain that I had a disaster with my cetrotide this morning, blood everywhere. Not sure what happened as followed all protocol but I seem to bleed quite a bit with these injections unfortunately. So I now have a great big swollen bruise to add to my woes

Roo45 · 18/11/2021 17:27

@BlueSilver23 I'm so sorry :( hopefully things get better!
They have just said to carry on and will have another scan tomorrow.

BlueSilver23 · 18/11/2021 18:11

@Roo45
Same for me, just carry on as normal and scan tomorrow. My issue is basically I have some follicles large and ready to go and a bunch that could be viable with another couple of days so its finding the balance of getting some more against potentially losing the ones I have..... hope they know what they are doing

Hope you get good news tomorrow Smile

CurbsideProphet · 24/11/2021 10:35

How is everyone?

@Roo45 and @BlueSilver23 Hope you're getting on ok with your stims.

BlueSilver23 · 24/11/2021 11:56

@CurbsideProphet
Had egg collection two days ago but currently back in clinic being checked for complications….. not feeling great. Possible bleeding issue and/or ohss Sad

BlueSilver23 · 24/11/2021 13:14

So it looks like there is an ‘abrasion’ causing bleeding. Wonderful. But at least it’s not more serious. Swollen ovaries but acceptable. But just generally feeling a bit rubbish!

CurbsideProphet · 24/11/2021 13:35

Oh no @BlueSilver23 💐💐

seekingsolace2 · 24/11/2021 13:44

@BlueSilver23 hope you feel better soon! Hopefully they have given you some treatment for the bleeding?

BlueSilver23 · 24/11/2021 14:09

@seekingsolace2 @CurbsideProphet thank you. no they didn’t give me anything, just got told it should sort itself eventually. Going to put myself to bed with some Netflix I think! My first ever EC has been a bit of rollercoaster! Not sure I feel up to repeating the experience in January…

Roo45 · 24/11/2021 15:33

@BlueSilver23 sorry to hear this, rest up and hope you feel better soon.
I had my EC too but most of my eggs had 'abnormal structures' so couldn't be used for IVF but we have got some embryos and hoping they do ok!
Did you get some embryos? It is frozen transfer for January or something else?xx

CurbsideProphet · 24/11/2021 16:07

@BlueSilver23 definitely take it easy in front of Netflix 💐🍫🥧🍪

CurbsideProphet · 24/11/2021 16:09

@Roo45 everything crossed for those embryos 🤞🏻

CurbsideProphet · 24/11/2021 16:18

Hope everything is ok with you @LucyLocket2021 after your FET last week.

Roo45 · 24/11/2021 19:41

Thank you @CurbsideProphet, hope you and everyone on here doing well xx

@CurbsideProphet

Hope everything is ok with you *@LucyLocket2021* after your FET last week.
Thanks for thinking of me @CurbsideProphet I did an early test yesterday and it looks like two lines… I’m thrilled but terrified but thrilled, and praying this one grows ok. Very early days yet, but still

@BlueSilver23 gosh - what a rollercoaster.. absolutely time for Netflix. You’re owed a bit of good luck now!

LucyLocket2021 · 25/11/2021 10:35

That’s great that you’ve got some embryos @Roo45. I’ll keep fingers and toes crossed that they do well

How are you feeling re: FET @CurbsideProphet?
