Our other thread is now full so thought I would start this one to continue the chat.

@Beaglemum91 I'm waiting for my period so I can start meds for FET so that is really helpful information about the embryo transfer process. Thank you. Did you have your partner on Facetime or anything for it?

@Icsi2021 so excited for you xxx

@lawandgin I'm sorry the fertilisation rate wasn't what you were hoping for but as others have said (and as we have two lots of proof on this thread at the moment!) it only takes one. So hopefully you'll have a good embryo to transfer on Thursday and two more for the freezer. Take good care of yourself and focus on the three you do have and getting ready to give one of them a good home on Thursday.

@Becky105 sorry that most of your slower ones didn't make it. 5 is still really good though, so it's great that you have some to freeze.

lawandgin · 10/08/2021 18:30

Thanks everyone. I know you are right, it really does only take one. I wasn't expecting to feel so crap about it, I've been on the verge of tears all day. Have decided this must be the progesterone as I am not normally this pathetic! DH is still optimistic so I am trying to follow his lead. Fingers crossed there isn't worse news tomorrow xx

Clapham4 · 10/08/2021 19:06

Awh @lawandgin this is such a hard process so you’re bound to have emotional ups & downs! But you’ve 3 and that’s all that matters, it really is a good result!! Xx

@Becky105 I lolled at your description of the transfer, it’s so true!!! Glad to hear you’ve some Frosties 💕

Becky105 · 10/08/2021 20:07

So I got the breakdown of my embryos being frozen... This is what the document from the embryologist said
"
On the 09-08-2021, 1 embryo was transferred into the uterus. The transferred embryo was classified as 4Ab. A further 4 embryos were cryopreserved for your future use. These embryos were classified as 5Ab, 4Cc, 3Cc, 5Cc"

So from what I can gather all those cc's are not great, is that right?

Of all my cc's which would be best a 3,4 or 5? Am I right that the number is the size?

Anyone had any success with cc grade embryos?

I'm glad I made some of you smile with my transfer tale of shame lol, i have to make light of these things to embrace the funny side of all these appointments.

Hopeful1234567 · 10/08/2021 22:37

@lawandgin Thankyou! Completely get why you’re upset, it’s such a difficult process but I know many people who have had day 3 transfers and had successful pregnancy over some people who have had day 5!

Thankyou so much @Becky105! All went all, staff were great and reassuring, they said the embryo was expanding but still hard not to over think it. Hope you’re doing okay too xx

Becky105 · 11/08/2021 12:33

I'm so sorry to always be asking questions... I think tww hysteria had kicked in (spent an hour panicking that I'd eaten a Chinese and it was spicier than is thought it would be... Fell down a Google rabbit hole lol)

My latest worry is when I should be taking my utrogestan progesterone. I know it is 3 times per day but as far as I'm aware i want given set times. Should I be doing set times? I've been ensuring no closer together than 6 hours but wondered what times others take them and if I should be doing consistent times?

lawandgin · 11/08/2021 12:50

@Becky105 I'm doing mine at 8.30am, 2.30pm and 8.30pm.

Still waiting for today's update. DH and I have decided to break our IVF isolation for a pub lunch because it's our wedding anniversary. I've written this round off anyway, so...

Clapham4 · 11/08/2021 13:08

@Becky105 I’m doing mine 9pm, 4pm& 11pm. The nurse said you don’t have to be super strict.

Awh @lawandgin congrats on your wedding anniversary, it was actually mine yesterday. Please don’t write off this round, you are in with a good chance like anyone else.

I had my second bloods done this morning and feeling so emotional this afternoon waiting for a call to see how my numbers are and if they’ve even increased. I did a CB this morning and was still one 1-2 weeks so I’m def not over 150hcg. I just have a feeling it’s not working out. I’m trying to be positive but just so deflated😞

Hopeful1234567 · 11/08/2021 13:40

@Becky105 mine is 8 hours apart so 7am, 3pm and 11pm. Completely understand your stress around it all. I was awful last time and over thought everything. Yesterday I felt a lot of pain after the transfer but woke up feeling fine this morning so trying to be stress free but it’s so hard! My partner doesn’t want to test this time either so will be walking into the blood test not knowing at all.

@Clapham4 Really hoping they give you positive news!!!

kittyfantastico21 · 11/08/2021 14:06

@Becky105 I take my utrogestan at 6am, 2pm and 10pm, so 8 hours apart. Sometimes I have to do the middle one half an hour or an hour early because of work meetings etc but the clinic said that’s fine and it doesn’t have to be exact. Also, embryo grades aren’t everything! There’s lots of accounts on here of people having success with a lower graded embryo when they didn’t with a higher graded one. But the one you had transferred is great quality so fingers crossed!

@lawandgin happy anniversary! I hope you get a good update today, there’s still every chance your transfer will work!

@Clapham4 happy anniversary for yesterday! I’m crossing my fingers for a good outcome from your blood test!

@Hopeful1234567 sorry you had pain after the transfer but that’s good that it’s gone now. I hope the TWW flies by for you and you can stay calm!

lawandgin · 11/08/2021 15:34

Thanks for the anniversary wishes all. Had a lovely lunch out and a nice glass of rose. Unfortunately there was a pregnant woman with a toddler sat opposite me which wasn't ideal, but there we go. We are on the way home now and they just called. We still have 3: 2 x 4 cell embryos at grade 2 and 1 x 8 cell embryo at grade 3. I stupidly didn't ask which way they grade, but I presume 3 is the the worst, if anyone knows? Transfer is 10.30 tomorrow.

lawandgin · 11/08/2021 15:36

@Clapham4 thinking of you this afternoon and fingers crossed for good news xx

Clapham4 · 11/08/2021 16:41

Not good news, they called and said my numbers have gone down so I’m on the way to a miscarriage. They don’t know when it’ll happen but said to stop taking progesterone. And if I get bad pain go to A&E. Trying to take a positive out of all this, that I actually got pregnant at least. I’m sad but weirdly relieved because I knew it was unlikely to be viable, I just wanted a definite answer. I hope to go again ASAP for the next cycle💕

kittyfantastico21 · 11/08/2021 17:02

@Clapham4 I’m so sorry. Sending you hugs. I’m glad you were able to find out soon instead of waiting three weeks for the scan. That’s good that you’ll be able to try again soon and it’s definitely good to know the embryo was able to implant at least. Take good care of yourself xx

@lawandgin I don’t know much about day 3 grades and cell numbers etc but I think grade 1 is the highest. But as with day 5 grades, grades will not be everything as there are other factors too. It’s good that all three have made it this far, so hopefully you’ll have a lucky one transferred tomorrow. Will they continue the other two to day 5 or freeze them at day 3?

lawandgin · 11/08/2021 17:16

@Clapham4 I am so sorry to hear your news. It's so cruel. Take care of yourself xxx

Hopeful1234567 · 11/08/2021 19:54

@Clapham4 so so sorry to hear this. Completely ditto what @kittyfantastico21 has said about knowing the embryo was able to implant but still such a awful thing to go through.

Bitterman · 11/08/2021 20:14

Hi, I hope you don't mind me joining, I am with ABC in Manchester and have my egg collection in the morning.
I just wanted to ask if it really does take a few hours start to finish even though it's a 20-30 minute procedure? Thanks

Hopeful1234567 · 11/08/2021 20:25

@Bitterman Hello! I’m with Manchester! Mine was around 1.5 hours with the waiting around and preparing/recovering x

Bitterman · 11/08/2021 20:33

@Hopeful1234567 Oh, lovely! Thanks so much, I was worried about my partner just sat there for three hours twiddling thumbs lol

kittyfantastico21 · 12/08/2021 07:39

@lawandgin good luck for your embryo transfer today! I hope it goes well and you have as calm a TWW as possible.

@Bitterman wishing you lots of luck for your egg collection!

Hopeful1234567 · 12/08/2021 08:52

@lawandgin wishing you lots of luck for today 💓

ThinnerByDinner · 12/08/2021 10:52

Hi ladies, I’m currently on day 8 of my first cycle, started cetrotide yesterday and have another scan tomorrow morning where I will be told when egg collection will be. They are thinking it will be Monday or Tuesday. If it’s Monday it will be in Birmingham (my closest) - has anyone been there before? If Tuesday it will be St Paul’s. This one makes me slightly nervous, does anyone know if there’s parking? Or should we get the train. I’m about 2.5hrs from central London and not familiar with it at all.
Hope your all well! X

lawandgin · 12/08/2021 13:29

Thanks everyone, it went really well this morning and I had a grade 2 8 cell embryo transferred. There is another of the same grading and a 10 cell grade 3 still going too, so they will try to culture to day 5. I can't actually believe I've had a transfer, I didn't think I would get to this point after the news on Tuesday. I really appreciate everyone's wishes.

Welcome @ThinnerByDinner and good luck for your EC next week. There is a car park on Wood Street which is very close by, but I'm not sure how busy it gets. I used to work right next to it :-) There's also a NCP at the Barbican which might be a better bet. It's a little further, but I think you'll be fine to walk to it after - but maybe better for someone to collect you from the clinic doors and walk back with you in case you feel a little woozy (I didn't, but I am generally fine with anaesthetics). X

Hopeful1234567 · 12/08/2021 13:42

@Bitterman Hope your egg collection went well!
@lawandgin Really pleased the transfer went great. Fingers crossed for your remaining embryos 💓💓💓.
@Becky105 Hope you are doing okay!

Becky105 · 12/08/2021 14:10

@Clapham4 I'm so sorry to read your update, that is just heart breaking. You are absolutely right to see the positive in being able to get pregnant but so disappointing that it didn't work out this time. Sending you all my love.

@lawandgin this is all sounding super positive and I'm glad your transfer went well. Welcome to the tww (or as I'm starting to find it... Minefield a minute)

@Hopeful1234567 I'm okish. How are you finding it? I thought I'd be nice a chilled but I'm questioning everything I eat, every twinge, how much sleep I'm getting, how hot my shower is, how close the dog is sitting to me, whether I got too hot under the covers during the night, if I'm drinking enough water... The list of concerns is constant. But obviously at the same time telling myself to keep calm and stress free while freaking out.

Being away with my partner's family has also proved to make things harder in some ways, I'm less free to eat what and when I want or sleep when I want. They are also planning a hike up a mountain 🤣🤣🤣 i will be politely declining
