Thanks @Goldilocks2528 Smile gosh currently clock watching and hoping I don't get a call to say dont come in! So far so good and I think I'm safe by 10.30am.

Really glad your EC went well.. I've had a good one and a bad one so far! Are you happy with what you got? Xx

Goldilocks2528 · 28/03/2021 10:09

Hi @Rachae, yes I am, considering. The clinic gave us a 9% chance or less of success and didn’t know if I’d respond to drugs. They said if I did I’d likely only get 1 or 2 eggs. I started with 5 follicles before stims, ended up with 4 after and they produced 3 mature eggs. 2 fertilised, and tomorrow is a day 5 transfer, all being well, so hopefully one inside me and one to freeze. It’s a much better outcome than I had imagined.

Goldilocks2528 · 28/03/2021 10:10

What time do you go in today @Rachae?

Rachae · 28/03/2021 10:16

@Goldilocks2528 that's brilliant news and I've heard of so much success stories from lower amounts of eggs. Hopefully both make it for you x
I go in at 12.30 and so have to set off driving at 11.30.
I'm thinking it might be ok now as I haven't had a phone call, and the centre opens at 9am x

Ivfgottahope · 28/03/2021 12:44

@Rachae best of luck, hope it goes well. Rest up after xxx

Rachae · 28/03/2021 14:10

Thanks @Ivfgottahope! Well great news.. I got one very good quality transferred and 2 good quality frozen. 😊 There's also a chance a few more will be frozen tomorrow. I'm over the moon.. Such a different result from last cycle! Xx

Goldilocks2528 · 28/03/2021 15:14

That’s brilliant news @Rachae SmileSmileSmile

Goldilocks2528 · 29/03/2021 10:38

Morning ladies.

Today is day 5, and the clinic have called to say one egg is at blastocyst stage, she said it’s not optimal quality but is good quality. The other is lagging behind a bit. We now have to decide whether to transfer both, or just one and leave the other to culture until tomorrow to see if it reaches the same place, and if it does freeze it. It it doesn’t it can’t be frozen and we lose it.

Difficult to know what to do. My initial feeling was to transfer 1 and take a risk on the other because I’ve read quite a bit over the past few days where it’s been said if you transfer 2 different grade embryos then it can be detrimental to the good one and neither work. I asked about it and the embryologist said there is no hard evidence of that, but not sure I want to risk it.

Appointment is at 1330, and not sure what to do. We have spoken about it and my other half is worried about transferring 2 and the risk of twins, not because we wouldn't want 2 babies (we would!) but because of all the other risks involved in having them.

I think my gut is telling me to transfer 1 and culture the other to tomorrow and hope it can be frozen then.

Stress Confused

beachbum85 · 29/03/2021 11:12

Good morning @Goldilocks2528!
I don't envy you having to make a decision - our clinic decided for us yesterday - and I don't really have advice since it's our first time and it's all so personal, but I just wanted to share:
We had an good quality early blast transferred yd and they said there were a couple lagging behind that they would keep an eye on to see if they could be frozen today. Even though they did progress, and one even started hatching, none are suitable for freezing because of the quality and the speed at which they're developing. So, I REALLY hope that's not the case for you guys, but you'd best be prepared not to have a frosty tomorrow, in case that affects your decision today.
I'm afraid I have no idea how different grade embryos influence each other after transfer... Best of luck to you both - sounds like you're in with a great chance either way :) x

Goldilocks2528 · 29/03/2021 11:20

Hi @beachbum85, thanks so much for your reply.

I hope your transfer went well yesterday, how are you doing/feeling today? Have everything crossed for you. From what I have read a day 5 transfer means implantation happens 1-5 days later. Have everything crossed for you.

Arghhhhh it's so difficult!
On the up side, if the transfer doesn't work and we don't have one to freeze, we will be heartbroken but at least we know I responded to the drugs if we decided to try again.

beachbum85 · 29/03/2021 11:32

I'm feeling pretty well, thanks @Goldilocks2528.. quite normal and it feels unreal that there's an embryo in there! Strange feeling... Thanks very much and I have everything crossed for you too x

Yes, same... we had 8 eggs fertilise and make it to Day 3, which much, much more than we expected, but then the drop-off to Day 5 crushed me a little. I keep reminding myself that we have a good one in there, and hopefully that's all we need right now, but if we have to do it again we know we can get to this stage and that's already very comforting :)

There is no right or wrong decision either way, so feel confident that you're making the best choice with the info you have - and then try to put the decision behind you, as hard as that might be. Whatever happens later on, this afternoon you'll be pregnant xx

Goldilocks2528 · 29/03/2021 11:42

Thanks @beachbum85. Pregnant this afternoon. Crikey, that's such a am emotional thought. Take care of yourself x

beachbum85 · 29/03/2021 11:48

Oh no, sorry, emotional is probably not what you needed right now... What I meant is: either way, whatever you decide will be fine :)
Good luck and take care of yourself too xx

Rachae · 29/03/2021 13:03

Hey @Goldilocks2528 gosh that's a tough decision! I'd say if you don't want twins then possibly, that might be the driver to decision. My one lagging behind yesterday did catch up today and became a good quality embryo, so they froze it. I know that doesn't happen every cycle and definitely didn't happen for us last time! But it's possible.
Hope you make the right decision for you and lots of luck with the transfer xxx

Rachae · 29/03/2021 13:04

@beachbum85 it's a super weird feeling isn't it! I've taken today off work (transferred yesterday) just to chill and process it x

Ivfgottahope · 29/03/2021 14:24

Hi @Goldilocks2528, hope you’re ok it’s a really hard decision isn’t it. I was in a similar position to you and I ended up transferring one top grade and one good/average embie so if you did transfer two then don’t worry about one affecting the other too much - I got a BFP this morning! Hope you’re happy with whatever decision you went for and best of luck with the transfer - rest up for a few days (I proper milked it!) xx

beachbum85 · 29/03/2021 14:59

Congrats @Ivfgottahope!!! That's amazing :)

So weird @Rachae! I'm working today to keep my mind occupied but I'm really distracted anyway! Very glad to hear that your embryo caught up and was frozen! I saw that you had another couple of frosties as well - that's great!! Good luck with the wait x
