FET March/April

PT8998 · 04/03/2021 19:51

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any dates pencilled in for an FET during March/April? I have been given the dates of 30/03 for baseline scan and transfer the week of 12/04.

It would be great to see if there are many others on similar timelines?!

@willithappen good to hear it's not getting worse. Hopefully it'll stop asap. I've heard they're better in the back door too but I would go with what the clinic recommend !

So had my lining scan, lining is at 7.35mm so it's better then it was last time but it's still pretty thin. I'm going to be scanned again on Tuesday and they expect it to be over 8mm at that point and then book me in for a transfer if it's got any thicker. I'm not feeling too hopeful to be honest, i mean I've had a major dose of oestrogen and it's only built up slightly more than when I was in the standard dose. Maybe I just have a naturally thin lining, if that's the case I'd rather them just take a chance and transfer. I have 9 embryos so I'm willing to take the risk

Hope everyone's okay

BambiOnIce80 · 01/04/2021 11:28

@elsaesmeralda I've been thinking of you all morning, particularly as my clinic were running 30 minutes late this morning and I was thinking "I bet elsa will have been in and out by now!". They really should transfer anyway - I think it would be difficult to justify why they wouldn't given that a lot of clinics minimum acceptable lining is 7mm and you're above that. Is your clinics policy 8mm? If so, I'd definitely challenge them on it. My clinic is an NHS one, so accepting a 7mm+ lining can't be unusual. Please don't lose hope 💗

I hope this isn't insensitive 😞 I'm done and dusted with my scan now and the lining is OK, so transfer is booked for next Wednesday 🔮 I'm finding the waiting for something to go wrong at every hurdle mentally and emotionally exhausting 😪

Gensola · 01/04/2021 11:32

@elsaesmeralda my clinic transfer at 7mm, I’m at Oxford fertility which is supposed to be one of the leading clinics (just happens to be localish to me!) so I wouldn’t worry too much about 7.35, it’s bound to be thicker in a few days too. One thing I tried before Christmas was light exercise to increase blood flow and drinking lots of water, plus a hot water bottle on my tummy and my lining increased 3mm in three days. Ended up at 9.8, only for the transfer to be cancelled because of OHSS!
I am going for my lining scan tomorrow, I’ve been having acupuncture so we will see if that’s had any impact.

BeHereNowx32 · 01/04/2021 11:42

@elsaesmeralda my lining had always been on the “thinner side”, but I fell pregnant with a lining of 7.3mm! I worried about it, but my clinic also transfer with a lining of 7mm. It’s the triple layer that they look for. I hope they can go ahead with transfer xx

elsaesmeralda · 01/04/2021 12:08

Thanks ladies. That does give me hope the fact I'm a little above 7mm. My clinic policy is 8mm but I am 100% going to challenge that if I have too, at the end of the day as you've all said most clinics will transfer at 7mm so it's obviously possible! If it comes to Tuesday and it's not any thicker I intend to say it's clearly not getting any thicker And I want to transfer anyway. They're my embryos and it's my choice, surely? One thing worrying me is if it starts to break down before then, they aren't concerned and said that won't happen but we shall see. I have lots of Pom juice, rasp leaf tea, hot water bottle etc so even if they don't work at least I can feel like I'm trying !

@BambiOnIce80 so glad you're all good to go! 💕 I was thinking of you too while in there ! When do you start the pessaries?

elsaesmeralda · 01/04/2021 12:08

Forgot to mention, the triple layer was there 👍🏻

BambiOnIce80 · 01/04/2021 12:25

That sounds really positive to me then @elsaesmeralda 💪 Definitely challenge them on it. It's not like they can say there's no evidence to say it's OK to transfer between 7 & 8mm when lots of NHS clinics do it and have successful outcomes (look at @BeHereNowx32 😉). I even asked my clinic about the whole 7 or 8mm thing. They said they used to say 8mm, but then they reassessed the evidence/literature and changed their policy to 7mm because the main thing is the triple layer (as the lovely ladies above said). Sending positive lining thickness vibes your way regardless 💓

@Gensola I'm another one who's gone with exercise (well, running a bit!) to hopefully increase blood flow to the lining. It was 8.8mm today, but no idea if it's the running that's helped or not 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did acupuncture for my fresh cycle (which was a MMC at 11 weeks), but haven't for the last FET or this one... might go back to it for the next one if this one is a BFN. It's just so damn expensive though! 📍 💸 Good luck for your lining scan tomorrow - keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🍀🤞🍀

elsaesmeralda · 01/04/2021 14:00

@BambiOnIce80 I've done so much reading this morning and so many positive stories of fets with 7mm lining and sometimes less. I know they want it to work and of course we all do! But as I said with 9 in the freezer I am willing to take a chance, or we will never know.
I've carried a baby before too, who knows I may have always had a thin lining 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks for everyone's kind words anyways, times like these I'm so glad to have the support of these boards ❤️

@Gensola good luck for your scan tomorrow
🤞🏻🤞🏻

Gensola · 01/04/2021 14:13

@BambiOnIce80 the acupuncture is eye wateringly expensive! I won’t have it again if this cycle fails, but I feel like it was worth trying once.

paitentlywaiting · 01/04/2021 15:21

@elsaesmeralda I had lots of issues with my lining both of my fets, the second time they added even more estrogen and even viagra suppositories and my lining barely moved and I got tons of mucus which nearly cancelled the fet. I focused on clearling the mucus and started the progesterone. My lining went from like 6.5 to like 8.7 just before my transfer and the mucus cleared up. But it definitely stagnated for like a week of no movement

elsaesmeralda · 01/04/2021 16:48

That's interesting @paitentlywaiting I do have a lot of mucus but it's off and on, mainly there in the mornings. All I can do now is wait until Tuesday and hope it's thickened up abit more, if not I will have to dig my heels in. I'm even tempted to say I'll try a natural fet instead, metformin has regulated my periods so I know I ovulate

@Sellandtravel hope you're okay ?

Tarsette · 01/04/2021 17:03

@elsaesmeralda I’ve been dealing with thin lining issues for several years already and have tried everything under the sun (oestrogen, viagra, stims) plus all the supplements such as Coq10, raspberry leaf tea, etc.) and the only thing that really made a difference was stims (Gonal F) as it gets my body to produce more of its own oestrogen. So something to consider should you need to cancel. But I reckon with over 7mm they should def go ahead with a transfer! That’s is a perfectly fine thickness. Many ladies get pregnant with 7mm. I even got pregnant once naturally last November and I know my lining doesn’t go above 6mm without meds (it was a chemical but not due to the lining according to my Dr as it implanted).

Gensola · 02/04/2021 09:14

Lining scan done - triple layer was there and it was 7.1mm, she says it will continue to thicken over the next week so I’m scheduled for transfer next Friday. Now just have to hope the embryo survives the thaw!

PT8998 · 02/04/2021 09:38

Ladies! Sounds as though you are all on track, which is great news!

@elsaesmeralda you can always try and get some Vitamin E in you and 30 mins of exercise per day too! That is supposed to help increase your lining. Otherwise, you're doing all that you can.

@Gensola Great news! Exciting that your transfer is just around the corner now!

@BambiOnIce80 exciting that your transfer is also happening soon!

I'm on day 32 of this cycle and I usually have a 27-29 day cycle. Tested and of course negative (didn't even think it would be anything but) and still no sign of af showing. I really thought it was coming nearer the start of the week but no show. I guess the egg collection has messed with things a little bit!

ivftake3 · 02/04/2021 09:47

Hi guys sorry I've been quiet I've been waiting for the period to start.
Which has now a week later. Omg my hormones are everywhere I'm crying, I'm angry,I'm everyone's getting on my last nerve..
a question when do clinics tell you to start prognova mine always say the nearest Sunday but I don't get why. As on google they say on the start day of day 1 of you period.. can anyone help xc

ivftake3 · 02/04/2021 10:18

@willithappen hiya what medicaticon are you on? If you take burcerlyn injections, this can prospone you period starting so with mine the last 3 times I've been on this I've been about 4-7 days late.. I get spotting and then stops and then it starts. Buserelin has a lot to answer for..
also egg Collection can mess it up a little.. especially if medicated. Are you having frozen transfer or fresh x

elsaesmeralda · 02/04/2021 10:34

@Tarsette that's encouraging!! I can only keep my fingers crossed now, I have a plan in mind if it's not any thicker so that's keeping me focused 👍🏻

@Gensola good news you're on track for transfer 🥳

@willithappen think I was about a week late after egg collection, it does mess around with our hormones

@ivftake3 sorry can't help with your clinics advise, both times I've started progynova on day1 as you've mentioned. Sorry to hear you're emotional, Could it be a bit of pms? Might be a sign that af is on the way

ivftake3 · 02/04/2021 11:04

@elsaesmeralda it's started it's here 🤣.. how we get so excited to see it through this process.. ok I wanted to check I'm gonna start as a lot of people say that. The buserelin is awful stuff I've started taking it at night I abt to kill everyone in site. I'm starting g to painick now. Think everything happened before I'm
Scared I've cancelled a couple of times.

@Gensola good news on transfer.

BambiOnIce80 · 02/04/2021 11:59

Excellent news @Gensola! 🤩 You'll be transferring the day after me (because my clinic rang yesterday afternoon and said they'd told me the wrong day for transfer and it's actually Thursday, not Wednesday 🤨🙄). Starting the progesterone pessaries tomorrow now... at least I have a days reprieve before the onslaught of pessary gunk! 🩲😳 Do you start yours tomorrow or Sunday?

I bet that's what it will be @willithappen. Hopefully AF won't leave you hanging on for long 🤞

@ivftake3 my clinic start progynova on day 3, so I think there are some slightly different protocols out there. Could it be something like your clinic only doing FET's on a certain day of the week? 🤔 I'm glad your period has turned up and you can get going though 💪 I can sympathise with the anger. I was simmering away yesterday (very unlike me), but I think that was because my appointment was 50+ minutes late and I could see the staff skipping about doing an Easter egg hunt around the clinic 🤨

@PT8998 and @elsaesmeralda how are you ladies doing today? Are you getting to enjoy a 4 day weekend filled with chocolate?! 🍫🥚😋

willithappen · 02/04/2021 12:59

@ivftake3 I'm not on anything right now and nothing since I had egg collection on 24th Feb. I had a bleed 2nd March which was like a regular period so 5 days after egg collection (lasted three days - this is completely normal for me) and then three days after that ended I had spotting for three days. I have been taking the 2nd March bleed as the start of my cycle but who knows! Such a stress so I'm probably making it worse

CLP20 · 02/04/2021 13:21

@elsaesmeralda I would say you can definitely push considering you are above 7mm and have the 3 layers.

@Gensola @BambiOnIce80 great news you are both on track for transfer now!

@willithappen Do you know when you ovulated this cycle?

@ivftake3 I was told to start Progynova on day 1, although as I started bleeding about half an hour after midday they told me to count the next day as day 1, which I would have said was day 2. Also seen others told to start taking it day 2 or day 3, so there seem to be several different protocols.

My lining scan is booked for the 12th!

willithappen · 02/04/2021 14:15

@CLP20 no, I was going to try opks but it was busy and I forgot, hadnt been doing them in so long as well
I usually get ovulation pains - didn't get any this month

ivftake3 · 02/04/2021 19:42

@BambiOnIce80 shut up an Easter egg hunt.. I would of flipped if that was me!! How did you keep your call..

I'm finding today really hard I'm having second thoughts again.. I'm emotional...

I have my scan booked for the 14th for lining!!

louloulemons · 02/04/2021 21:00

@ivftake3 sorry you’re struggling today. Why are you having second thoughts? Here if you want to talk.

I feel so crap today with hot flushes, headaches and nausea. Not sure if it’s the Buserelin or introducing the progynova a few days ago, or maybe the combination of the two!
