FET March/April

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any dates pencilled in for an FET during March/April? I have been given the dates of 30/03 for baseline scan and transfer the week of 12/04.

It would be great to see if there are many others on similar timelines?!

@lucymills1234 a level 5 is considered a negative, and I was a 6. So, think it’s tried to implant and not worked.

Good luck on your OTD x

lucymills1234 · 10/05/2021 12:23

@BeHereNowx32 oh, I'm really sorry to hear that... hope you're coping ok... I realise you may not feel there's much hope left to hold out for the second test, but fingers crossed that gives you clarity if not the result you want.

Think I may be the only one left on here now that's not tested... OTD tomorrow. Yikes.

willithappen · 10/05/2021 12:38

@lucymills1234 good luck for tomorrow lovely!

louloulemons · 10/05/2021 13:36

@lucymills1234 thinking of you and keeping absolutely everything crossed for tomorrow!

lucymills1234 · 10/05/2021 17:00

Thanks @willithappen @louloulemons ! Literally feeling sick with nerves. Really think it's going to be a negative but know that's not going to stop it being and feeling real shitty. Have a busy work day (had meant to book it off but left it too late) so that's not ideal.

willithappen · 10/05/2021 17:28

@lucymills1234 a busy day might help keep the mind off it
Are you doing a test first thing or is it a blood test you have to do?

louloulemons · 10/05/2021 18:03

Yep a busy work day might not be such a bad thing if you are going to be sat anxiously awaiting blood test results? I know there’s not much that will take your mind off it regardless though.

Hi @willithappen @louloulemons thanks for the messages. I had to use a FRER at home so tested earlier and it's a BFN. Gutted.

Not sure where I go from here. I've transferred two high quality blasts now (from two different rounds - 1 fresh, 1 FET) and BFN both times. I have others in the freezer which are 'good' quality but none as high as the two already tried, so I wonder how they'll succeed when these didn't.

This doesn't get easier.

PT8998 · 11/05/2021 09:04

@lucymills1234 I’m so sorry! I really am truly gutted you didn’t get your BFP.

With regards to embryo gradings, best doesn’t always equal success. Sometimes the embryos were always destined to not thrive due to chromosomal defects or whatnot and the female body is very clever at detecting this early on... but we/you/clinic wouldn’t know without testing the embryos (and even this isn’t reliable). Sometimes the ones that aren’t graded as highly, just need more time once transferred - but could be the perfect embryo.

How many more Frosties do you have?

I'm so sorry @lucymills1234, I'm gutted for you too. I know there's nothing I can say to make it better but we are here if you ever need to talk or vent about it. It's so hard when you have invested all of the time and emotional energy to see a way forward but you will when you are ready.

I totally echo what @PT8998 says. I have friends who had embryos which weren't very high grades at all and went on to result in babies. And I equally know people with high graded embryos which didn't make it. My first transfer was a 5AA and must have had a genetic issue because it didn't make it as far as my scan. I had a follow up call with an embryology professor after our first cycle and she said she believed all of the embryos had a chance, even the lowest grade, otherwise they wouldn't freeze them, so that always gives me comfort.

lucymills1234 · 11/05/2021 14:38

@PT8998 thanks for your message. I know logically that grading doesn't guarantee success, but it's hard to stay positive after two such apparently good blasts failed to even implant, the very first step of all. I have 5 others left to try.

@louloulemons thanks for being so kind. I really hope that one of the others has a chance - I can't bear the thought of going through all the other 5 with no positive outcome.

I have a follow-up with my clinic in a few weeks to discuss what next. After two failed transfers I don't think my clinic will blame the failure on anything other than egg quality, but I wonder if there's anything else I should be doing or testing. They are not very good on giving you input and advice.

Where I live I have plenty of choice of clinics, but I need to stay where the frozen blasts are for now. If I was to consider another fresh round (and time's not on my side for that) I might think about moving somewhere else.

@lucymills1234 I’m sorry 💔
