FET March/April

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any dates pencilled in for an FET during March/April? I have been given the dates of 30/03 for baseline scan and transfer the week of 12/04.

It would be great to see if there are many others on similar timelines?!

@PT8998 pains have calmed down today! My periods only last a max of 4 days so the worst is always day 1/2. I'm glad I've come on though as I feel like it's going in the right direction, I was convinced it was be late !

Great that you've started northisterone, I know what you mean by feeling like you have something to do each day, the worst part of this process for me is the waiting, you always seem to be waiting for something !

PT8998 · 11/03/2021 13:38

@elsaesmeralda oh that’s good! That’s one less stress as being uncomfortable is horrid! I completely agree, it’s all going in the right direction! It’s always a lovely feeling when things go well.

And yes, thank you! I do find the wait hard. It’s been a long old road to even start IVF, so then waiting for what feels like forever to transfer is horrid! As I did a freeze all, my patience is running thin waiting for my PUPO moment! 😂

@PT8998 oh thaw waiting is horrendous, I get so impatient 😆 when was your egg collection? Mine was the start of December and I still haven't had a transfer as my lining didn't respond at all last time, I keep thinking omg I've got 9 embryos in the freezer waiting for me I just want one put back in lol

louloulemons · 11/03/2021 14:05

A down reg injection sounds amazing! I’m on day 21 of Buserelin now and baseline scan tomorrow. Can’t wait to get on the progynova and get on with it!

BambiOnIce80 · 11/03/2021 14:25

Ouch, day 21 of buserelin @louloulemons?! 💉 😣 I'm suddenly feeling very fortunate with my prostap jab! 😳 The clinic told me it's a 'mega dose' of buserelin, so that's why it's just the once instead of lots of smaller injections. It might also account for why I have side effects, but I guess it's only fair to take the rough with the smooth 🙂

Completely agree that the waiting is the worst 🙄 We had our fresh cycle in December 19/January 2020 and the waiting never seems to get any easier 😏

PT8998 · 13/03/2021 19:32

@elsaesmeralda sorry, I have only just seen these replies!

I had my egg collection in January, not yet had any transfers.
Oh man! That must have been so frustrating! When did you try and transfer before?

OP posts:
PT8998 · 13/03/2021 19:33

Day 3 of Norethisterone completed for me! Only ten more days to go on these. Each stage is like it's own little countdown!

louloulemons · 14/03/2021 18:03

Things aren’t really going to plan over here 😫 Went for my baseline scan Friday and noticed I’d started spotting just before. Anyway lining isn’t thin enough still for some reason even though I was CD10 so now having to take 5 days of norethisterone to try and induce a bleed. There was talk of making me wait for next cycle but thankfully they were willing to try this first. Getting so impatient, feel like I’ll never get to transfer!

elsaesmeralda · 14/03/2021 18:51

@PT8998 we was meant to transfer end of January but on 6mg a day of estradol (however it's spelt) I didn't respond at all. So this time will be 12mg plus patches and I still got a horrible feeling it won't work 🙄

That's crap about your scan. Luckily they didn't cancel it, it's not a nice feeling! The northisterone should do the trick. Always feels like there is a hurdle to cross doesn't there!
So Did you have your period normally on the buserelin and then started spotting again? Hope you're okay 💕

elsaesmeralda · 14/03/2021 18:52

Sorry meant to @louloulemons

louloulemons · 14/03/2021 20:42

Thanks @elsaesmeralda sorry for all the delays you’ve faced. So hard isn’t it when you’re telling yourself you just have to get to this certain point and then the goalposts get moved. Really hope the increased dose does the trick for you!

Yes started Buserelin on CD21, then had a bleed and baseline on CD10 so should have been clear, I don’t know what on earth is going on. Ovaries are doing what they’re supposed to it’s just the lining, like it didn’t empty fully.

Thought the FET would be the easier cycle, but the fresh one was so much smoother than this!

elsaesmeralda · 15/03/2021 14:30

@louloulemons that seems like an annoying situation! I've seemed to have a heavier period than usual on buserelin but I don't rule anything out !

I've had awful side effects, they've really ramped up the last couple of days. I'm really tired, bloated, having awful mood swings and hot flushes 😩 honestly dreading the extra dose of progynova too

RichmondLady1981 · 15/03/2021 16:52

Hi ladies.

Been chatting to you about awaiting my three blasts’ PGT-A results. Really disappointing news on all three.

  1. Complex abnormal
  2. Abnormal
  3. High level mosaic.

Have a consultation with the specialist tomorrow to discuss results. Feeling a bit gutted but can’t expect things to work first time around. I’ve read that ladies my age (39) have to do a few cycles to get a ‘normal’ egg. Have decided I’ve got two more cycles in me to find ‘the one!’ Wish me luck.

Kind of explains why we have had no luck in trying naturally over the park year.

Depending on when I have to start my stims again I might join you on the crazy ride so might be back soon. In the meantime I’m going to focus on my little boy and enjoy him before the craziness begins again.

Good luck if not!! X

PT8998 · 15/03/2021 18:25

@louloulemons Oh no! Sorry that you have to face a delay. Like this process isn't drawn out enough as it is, eh? I do keep trying to tell myself that it's all worth it and it's the right thing to do, but I agree about the goalposts being moved... it's really hard! I hope the five days fly by with the Norethisterone, and you have a good old clear out to get yourself back on track!

@elsaesmeralda Fingers crossed you have a better response this time round! When do you start the estradiol this time round?

@RichmondLady1981I am so sorry! I love how optimistic you remain though and I wish you all the luck in the world over the next cycle (or two) and I will keep everything crossed that you get your 'normal' eggo! We will be here should you need to come and vent or rant away about anything! Please do keep us posted if you are able to get going again with the next round sometime soon!

Ahhh @PT8998 that’s so sweet of you. Thank you 😘. I think my little cheeky 22 month old gives me extra strength and positivity.

I’ll keep checking in on you all. Hoping for lots of BFPs!!! X

PT8998 · 15/03/2021 20:57

@RichmondLady1981No problem! I can't even begin to imagine how you're feeling. I am glad you have your little 22 month old, a welcome distraction I am sure.

Fingers crossed we will end up with lots of BFPs!

@PT8998 I have a scan Thursday to see if the buserelin has done its job so will get told then when to start the progynova.

@RichmondLady1981 so sorry to hear that, you must be very upset. But I do admire your optimism 👍🏻 good luck for your future cycles and hopefully you can join us really soon 💕

BambiOnIce80 · 16/03/2021 11:06

Hi ladies 👋 Just catching up now...

@louloulemons I'm really sorry to hear things aren't quite going to plan 💐 I'm keeping everything crossed for you that the norethisterone does the trick for you and you get back on track 🤞🍀 When will your next scan be to see if it's done the trick?

And I'm sorry to hear your side effects have been awful @elsaesmeralda 😔 Are you still taking the buserelin? If so, hopefully the progynova will even you out 🤞 Wishing you luck for Thursday 🍀

I really hope you have a constructive session with your consultant today @RichmondLady1981 🤞 Can anything be done with the high level mosaic? I'm not good with the terminology, but does 'high level' have positive or negative inferences? Would your clinic transfer it? Wishing you lots of luck, whatever the answer 🍀🍀🍀

How's the norethisterone going @PT8998?

Little update from me - AF has finally arrived 3 days late, but at least she's finally arrived! I was losing sleep over it! 😩 Phoned the clinic and I start progynova on Thursday for 15 days and then have my lining scan on the 1st of April. It's a relief that things are getting going now! 😪

RichmondLady1981 · 16/03/2021 12:27

Thanks so much ladies.

I think they only transfer low level mosaic in the hope that it would self correct. I’m happy that I did the testing as it saves time and money with going through transfers that wouldn’t work. So now my challenge is to find a golden egg. Easter is coming up- hopefully that’s a sign. 😊

ivftake3 · 16/03/2021 19:13

Hi anyone mind if I join please??

I'm about to start burselyn on Friday,
This will be the 3rd transfer.

I had non sticky one first time after egg collection of 22eggs..

June last year had a FET transfer which stick unfortunately ended in a miscarriage at 6 weeks but had to wait until 10 weeks for an ERPC.. then had to go back in October for another ERPC as it didn't go the first time..

So I've had a break and now back.. and would like some buddies.. I'm having another frozen transfer.

Thank you xc

elsaesmeralda · 16/03/2021 19:49

Hi @ivftake3 welcome! So sorry about your miscarriage. Good luck for this time and it's nice we all have each other to talk to! I find it hard irl as people who aren't going through it or haven't done really understand, they say the right things but you can't go into much detail if you see what I mean
Do you have many embryos left ?

Sara237 · 16/03/2021 20:35

Hi everyone, may I join you? I'm awaiting my first FET from a round 2 of ivf which resulted in my 3yr old son! I've put it off for 3 years now as have struggled a lot with motherhood and still feeling very nervous about it all. I was part of a thread for each cycle before and the support and empathy made all the difference. I'm sorry to hear about the struggles lots of you have experienced reading through this thread but also encouraged by the positivity and hope that we have to maintain! I've also noticed how different all the clinics are. I'm with Bourn so it was 2 wks of contraceptive pill to synch me with their dates for transfers - nice!, now daily Burserilin jabs, then start progynova next week. Scan on 2/4 fet maybe 10th...so similar dates to lots of you. Everytime crossed for all of us!

elsaesmeralda · 16/03/2021 20:46

Welcome @Sara237 I think all going well I might start progynova after Thursday, have a scan that day and will find out if all is down regulated ! How have you found the buserelin? I've struggled with the side effects

Sara237 · 17/03/2021 07:32

Hi elsaesmeralda, to be honest the only side effect I seem to have is extra energy and waking up a bit earlier. I don't know what this says about my usual hormones, but I always feel pretty good on Burserilin. Strange...! Not long till your scan then, it feels like a long process doesn't it? I thought Fet would be much shorter. Hope you've down regulated as you should. With all the side effects it sounds like your system has shifted. Best of luck x

louloulemons · 17/03/2021 11:50

@RichmondLady1981 so sorry to hear that the results weren’t what you’d been hoping for. It’s so frustrating. Hope you’re doing ok and keeping everything crossed you’ll be back here very soon.

@elsaesmeralda fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow!

@BambiOnIce80 glad things are moving along and AF finally made an appearance!

@ivftake3 so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. The pain is very real and it takes such a lot to pick yourself up and carry on again.

@PT8998 how are you getting on?

@Sara237 welcome and let us know how you’re getting on!

I haven’t noticed any Buserelin side effects luckily and 27 days in now. Yep I’m counting them off as you can tell!! I’ve been terribly moody on the norethisterone though and only done 5 days of those. Got to phone them once I start bleeding to book next scan. Finished norethisterone yesterday so just waiting now! Has anybody ever been given any indication of how long it takes to bleed once you stop them?
