FET March/April

PT8998 · 04/03/2021 19:51

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any dates pencilled in for an FET during March/April? I have been given the dates of 30/03 for baseline scan and transfer the week of 12/04.

It would be great to see if there are many others on similar timelines?!

I know we keep having light snow on and off! I want the summer now though, we had a tease of it last week and now it's bloody freezing again ! 😩😩
Oh dear 😆 Just blame it on the extra hormones ! What was he doing with the decking anyways??
I'm starting to dread the progesterone as I know I'll become irrational/emotional and my partner will bear the brunt of it 😕 the joys !
Yeah just try and chill and concentrate on keeping calm ready for the transfer (even though that in itself is nerve wracking) maybe try another book to focus on?

I agree, it's because they do it day in day out and is just work for them, but this is our life you know. There is one nurse I really like but I hardly ever get her ! I start the pessaries Saturday, I need to stock up on pantyliners actually lol

willithappen · 06/04/2021 16:32

@BambiOnIce80 ah so all things going well I could be a transfer on 21st then. That's kind of what I expected :) thanks!

lucymills1234 · 06/04/2021 17:34

Hi all, I've not been on for a while so catching up with messages.

I hope you're all coping - sorry to hear that people are having battles with side effects and linings. It's funny (kind of?!) how some words take on whole new meanings because of IVF.

I'm waiting for my period to arrive (due soon) so I can get planning for my FET. It should be only a few days away but trying not to get too fixated on the date as waiting is doing my head in...

My clinic are in the 'we'll tell you when you get there' camp so I don't actually know how things will map out with the FET, only that I call them on day 1 for instructions, and it will be a natural cycle so I don't need to worry about having any meds in stock. No clue even roughly when I might have scans or transfer, and really wish I did! But still it's good to hear other people's experiences so I have a bit more idea about how things work.

Those who've struggled with their lining - are any of you doing a natural FET? I'm wondering how the lining gets to the right thickness without meds. @BambiOnIce80 is your timescale of transfer a week after the lining scan based on a medicated cycle? I'm just nervous that if my lining is not good enough and I'm a natural cycle, do they cancel you to the following month?

BambiOnIce80 · 06/04/2021 18:19

Hi @lucymills1234 👋 Yes, I'm doing a medicated cycle so the transfer time line I mention is based around that. I looked at a natural cycle (but my clinic won't entertain them at the moment because of covid and wanting to keep the number of appointments down) and I think they transfer 5-7 days after you've ovulated? I'm sure they'll measure lining too but I wouldn't get too worried if I were you. My lining has always been 12-ish mm when they do my day 21 base line scan, but have only gotten up to 8.8mm on the medicated cycle. Hopefully yours will similarly be better naturally and you won't have to worry about it 🤞🍀🤞🍀

MaggieMae21 · 06/04/2021 18:34

I’ve done a natural cycle and today I had a positive test!!! My OTD is tomorrow. So I’ll do the clinic test tomorrow xxx

lucymills1234 · 06/04/2021 21:12

Hi @BambiOnIce80 thanks so much for replying, that's really good to know. When I had my last scan before trigger for my cycles my lining was good so hopefully that continues! Interesting to know transfer is 5-7 days after ovulation - it could end up being on my birthday if my cycles run to their normal schedule!

@MaggieMae21 that's amazing, congratulations!

CLP20 · 06/04/2021 22:33

@elsaesmeralda so pleased for you - and that you didn’t have to fight for it!

@BambiOnIce80 you sound just like me with the anxiety levels! And actually with the decking and my hubby at the moment! 😂

@lucymills1234 Don’t know much about natural cycles I’m afraid, but if all goes well, my transfer may end up being the day before my birthday! I’m taking it as a good sign.

So I went for a follow up hcg test. My first at 10dpt5dt was 542 and second was 12714 at 17dpt5dt.. it's a 36 hour doubling rate. I'm pretty sure it's just one single boy in there. I'm trying to not read the forums too much everyday... I keep thinking something bad will happen and maybe ignorance is bliss. I go for an ultrasound next week at 6 weeks + 1

willithappen · 07/04/2021 14:49

@BambiOnIce80 good luck for tomorrow!

BambiOnIce80 · 07/04/2021 15:30

@elsaesmeralda definitely get the panty liners at the ready! 😂 And a lot of distracting tasks so that you don't end up wanting to punch your DP square in the face 😜 To be fair to my DP, the decking is in a complete state and it was really easy to pull up as a result but why the hell did he think now was a good time?! 🤯 I took your advice too and switched books from the psychological thriller to something less anxiety inducing, which has helped a bit 😊

I feel your decking related pain then @CLP20! 😂 My DP assures me he's going to finish ripping it up at the weekend and then get some men with a van to come and get rid of it, so hopefully it'll be sorted by OTD 🤞 Where abouts in your cycle are you at the moment?

Congratulations @MaggieMae21! 😃

Sounds like things are going really nicely at your end @paitentlywaiting 🙂 When will your 6+1 scan be?

Thank you @willithappen 🥰 I've been cleaning like a mad woman today! 😳 I'm going to be cleaning the windows next, just as soon as I'm done with my post-pessary sit down! 😄

How are things with you @Gensola? Are you ready for Friday? 🍀

I had a scare earlier - I didn't hear my phone ringing whilst I was hoovering and had a missed call from the clinic at 12pm 😳 I absolutely jumped to the conclusion that they were ringing because either there was a problem with tomorrow or that the nurse had properly ballsed up the transfer appointment and it was supposed to be today at 11.30am after all! 🤯 I was nearly hyperventilating when I was returning that call! 😰 Turns out it was neither of the above and just the counsellor wanting to rearrange my next appointment - phew! 😪 If I can just get through tomorrow without anything going wrong I'll be delighted! 🔮

louloulemons · 07/04/2021 15:40

Good luck for tomorrow @BambiOnIce80, will be keeping everything crossed for you!

Congratulations @MaggieMae21, such brilliant news!

No news from me, just waiting for next scan on Friday. If all goes well, looks like transfer could be on my birthday!

willithappen · 07/04/2021 16:45

Anyone else on progynova?

louloulemons · 07/04/2021 17:12

Yes I am @willithappen

paitentlywaiting · 07/04/2021 17:29

@BambiOnIce80 it will be on Monday! Good luck for tomorrow :) holding thumbs for you!

PT8998 · 07/04/2021 17:44

Hey ladies!

I am so awful for keeping up with this thread! Work is just so busy, when I get home I am just ready for bed!

Day off today (but also been busy catching up on everything else that I don't get to do) and had my lining check scan. I am good to go and transfer will be next Thursday! It's coming round so quickly now!

How fast is time going! Good luck for tomorrow @BambiOnIce80 😊😊

@PT8998 glad you're on track! We have the same transfer day 👍🏻

@willithappen im still on progynova

@louloulemons ahh transfer on your birthday would be nice !

@paitentlywaiting congrats again 🥳 exciting times ahead

@MaggieMae21 great news !! Congratulations

Hope everyone else is well!

I've never had a transfer before - any tips ladies ? What's it like ? I'm dreading the full bladder part, I have a slight prolapse from childbirth and really struggle with holding my wee in and urgency 😳

willithappen · 07/04/2021 19:51

@louloulemons @elsaesmeralda have you had any side affects from it at all?
I'm feeling constantly tired but not sure if it's from that. I had no side affects from stims so it's strange getting some now

PT8998 · 07/04/2021 19:55

@elsaesmeralda amazing! I have no time as of yet, but either way I’m just glad it’s happening!

@willithappen I’m on day 8 or 9 of progynova. I’m to continue on until transfer

OP posts:
louloulemons · 07/04/2021 22:57

@willithappen no I’ve been ok on it actually. I was getting terrible side effects from the buserelin but they seem to have eased after a few days on the progynova. I do feel quite anxious though and I know somebody else mentioned that which made me wonder if it’s related.

Having said that, I’ve just had a long sleep on the sofa in front of a film so maybe I am tired! Can you speak to your clinic about it?

@elsaesmeralda I’ve had one transfer before. It was quite quick and not painful at all. I was dreading the full bladder bit too and didn’t actually fill it just didn’t empty it if that makes sense. It was enough for what they needed anyway.

lucymills1234 · 08/04/2021 09:39

@louloulemons there's a fair chance mine might be on my birthday, too! I thought last year's lockdown birthday would qualify as the weirdest ever, but maybe 2021 will find a way to trump it!!

BambiOnIce80 · 08/04/2021 13:59

@willithappen I was shattered on progynova. It got better when I started the progesterone though, so hopefully you'll have a similar experience 🤞

Good luck for Monday then @paitentlywaiting! 🍀🍀🍀 That's not long to wait at all 🙂

Great news that your lining scan went well @PT8998 👍 I found the week between the scan and the transfer has gone quite quickly so fingers crossed you'll find it the same 🤞

@elsaesmeralda I've had 3 transfers now and I've found that about 330ml is plenty for my bladder to be full enough for the scans needs without being too uncomfortable. I sadly didn't know this on my first transfer when I downed a litre of water within an hour and then genuinely thought I was going to pee in the consultants face... don't be me! 😳😂

Thanks for all the good luck shouts ladies 🥰 We're done and dusted now and I feel soooo much more relaxed now that the transfer is out of the way, long may it continue 😄... well, at least a few days reprieve until the OTD fear starts kicking in! 😏 DP was allowed to come in too, so that was nice 😊 One thing that was slightly weird was that we had the consultant lead for the clinic doing our transfer (we haven't interacted with him before) who proceeded to tell me that he was classmates one of my work colleagues... it's quite strange having a conversation about a common work colleague whilst your feet are in stirrups and legs are akimbo! 😳😂😳🤣

elsaesmeralda · 08/04/2021 14:10

@BambiOnIce80 glad you're all done now! I bet it's a relief to get it in there, how exciting ! Any plans for the tww ? Are you doing anything different or just carrying on as normal? Wishing you lots of luck 🤞🏻💕

Thanks for the bladder tips. God I will end up pissing my pants I know what I'm like 😆😆

BambiOnIce80 · 08/04/2021 14:29

I've taken the time off work @elsaesmeralda 👍 I didn't for my first cycle, but I haven't had any time off since Christmas and I feel like I just need a bit of a break from work. It's thankfully only a 9 day wait at my clinic, so not too difficult to distract myself (I say this now, but I bet I'll be doing all your heads in when I turn into a symptom spotting psycho in a few days time! 🤪). The doc said to not do too much and to watch comedies today (laughter is apparently supposed to encourage implantation?!), so I'm main lining Staged and Rhod Gilbert's Work Experience on iplayer at the moment! 😄 I'm going to go for daily walks from tomorrow and have a nosey at bits and bat's opening up - trying to keep as zen as possibly 🧘‍♀️

On the pissing your pants front (😆) could you drink a small amount and see how it goes? My clinic said to come in 15 minutes early so that they could get me to 'top up' if my bladder wasn't full enough 💧

Tarsette · 08/04/2021 15:58

@elsaesmeralda yes agree with what the other ladies said: don’t go for the whole 1 litre! I did that once and then my Dr was 45 min late, I thought I was going to die! Especially since my clinic say to remain lying down for another 20 min after transfer... Now I just have 500 ml 30 min before transfer.
