@dragonfly1978 - I don't know what to say, I haven't personally used that test but I do hope it progresses for you.

Sending you virtual hugs @dragonfly1978 💐 I'm not sure if you had a stronger line before.... But I've had a terrible experience with clear blue tests and always use First response as a result. Is it worth switching tests? Also have you made sure it's the same time each day/ monitored how much water you've drank etc x

wishfulbean · 16/03/2021 22:16

@dragonfly1978 I think I must be missing something.. the picture of your test on my device appears to show a faint line? Is this not potentially a positive test? My clinic said to consider it positive if the line was quite faint but I must confess I'm in my first round of IVF and don't really understand all the potential testing outcomes.

I'm hoping for a positive outcome for you but I'm really very sorry if that is not the case. 😔

JessTTC · 17/03/2021 06:57

@dragonfly1978 I completely understand why you are guarding your heart and being cautious. That still looks like a positive to me, I haven’t used those type of tests - try with a pink dye perhaps? And don’t count yourself out yet. Sending you lots of positive, sticky vibes xxxx

13dp5dt and Clear blue digital test put me at 3+ This morning, according to the instructions it changes to that when HCG is 2753 +! I’m still having brown blood/discharge when I wipe after a wee on and off and the back ache is real! Going in for my second beta test this morning but starting to feel slightly less psychotic and a little more relaxed now I know we’re going in the right direction!

2mumlife · 17/03/2021 07:40

@Mrbay I've not seen the costing for the drugs yet! But yes, I'd rather just pay the once for throwing everything at it than multiple failed attempts. I'm not sure if we're getting Lubion or something else, clinic didn't actually say brand or dosage yet. I know they're planning for me to only take it for 6 days though, just the couple days before and after transfer, not the full 2WW (which I think is what you did?). Will just be on the good 'ol cyclogest the rest of the time (with estrogen thrown in this time too). During my fresh transfer I was on a cyclogest during the 2WW only, but this time they've got me down to stay on the cyclogest for first 13 weeks if it sticks, which feels more reassuring somehow too. Doing my optimisim a lot of good to just think new cycle, new approach, new drugs. Hope you're feeling less tired today!

ThePurpleFairy · 17/03/2021 08:53

Hi all,

Last few days have been a bit manic for me, had some stress trying to obtain a letter so we could stay in a London hotel (we’re 200 miles away). Managed to get one on Friday but it wasn’t specific date wise so then tried all weekend to ask the hotel if they would accept it. Eventually Sunday night they said it was fine so we drove down Monday and just had a chill night with a takeaway in the hotel.

I had my transfer yesterday so today I’m 1dp5dt. We drove back home (getting PUPO chips at the services obvs) last night and then just relaxed watching some funny films with (another) takeaway.

I was a bit crampy yesterday and a little twingey this morning, which I assume was from the procedure and I woke up at about 4am with a bit of a headache and a weird taste in my house but I know it’s too early to be pregnancy, it must be the medication.

@Mrbay I’m so glad it isn’t just me on the wind front 🤣 I did have something slightly worrying happen yesterday but I’m really hoping it’s due to the coating on the progesterone.

@RichmondLady1981 I’m so sorry you didn’t yet the PGT-A results you were hoping for. I did PGT-M so I know how it feels to be left hanging waiting for results, ours took 56 days and it was just hellish. I hope that your clinic work with you on a way forward Flowers

@Motherofkittens28 I’m so sorry it hasn’t worked out for you. I hope you get the support you need from your clinic Flowers

I know there’s more people I intended to tag after catching up 3/4 pages but I’m so sorry my brain has gone blank at this point 😩

ThePurpleFairy · 17/03/2021 08:55

Weird taste in my mouth... not house 🤨

Rachae · 17/03/2021 09:14

Morning everyone! Smile
I've had my first stims scan and I have 9 follicles and some small ones. So that compares to 14 at this stage last round. I got 21 eggs last round... So I'm hoping that means I'll get slightly lower this time. (As it was too many and none made it to full embryo, so I want quality!)

EC is estimated for Monday or Tuesday and they're calling me tomorrow. Also have another scan Friday x

Motherofkittens28 · 17/03/2021 10:04

Morning everyone, thank you for all the kind messages. My clinic have been totally rubbish and my post cycle review has now been booked in without consulting me for 8th April, virtually 4 weeks since I got my bfn/full bleed!
I'd like to ask for some advice, in December I was put on the waiting list for a Laparoscopy for my endo, to clear up any new deposits (last lap was 13 years ago), due to covid cancelling loads of procedures i went ahead with the ivf for the cycle ive just finished. Out of the blue yesterday I got a call with a slot for surgery next Thursday! Im a bit freaked out as its so unexpected but I have been worried that we might have implantation issues due to the endo and I would like to get it sorted. I have no idea how long we would need to leave it after surgery to do another cycle but we are getting married 4 months today so potentially it might be a good thing to wait until after that, on the flip side I'm 39 and not getting any younger!
There is the added complication that due to covid I will have to isolate in my house away from my partner for a week as he has to go out to work! Its silly but the thought of being in the same house but not seeing each other for a week is something I find quite upsetting.
Sorry, information overload but would love to know what others would do in my shoes???

Goldilocks2528 · 17/03/2021 10:32

@dragonfly1978 Have everything crossed for you that the line stays and gets darker Flowers

I am so sorry to read that others have not had the results they would like. This is such a hard process Sad thinking of you all and I hope you are getting the support you need both from your loved ones and from your clinics.

Mrbay · 17/03/2021 11:47

@2mumlife - sounds like my clinic, they top up the cyclogest with a lubion every other day during a FET. Lubion is about £8-10 per day.
I'm on lubion and cyclogest daily until 12-weeks.

@ThePurpleFairy - congratulations on being PUPO!!! Glad you managed to get a hotel so you could relax.
Ref the cyclogest - if you had a white leakage, that is the wax so don't panic!

@Rachae - that sounds really promising - I hope you get quality eggs :)

@Motherofkittens28 - oh that is nice of your clinic! I hate that they sometimes forget how emotional this process it.
Ref surgery, I had a lap before I started cycle 1, I had to wait 12-weeks until I was allowed to start my cycle, then xmas got in the way so it wasn't until maybe 16-weeks after surgery that I started.
Personally I would take the appointment and get everything tip top before spending emotions, time and money on another transfer/EC.

OP posts:
ThePurpleFairy · 17/03/2021 12:06

@Mrbay thank you! Just trying to relax now for the next week or so. No it wasn’t white leakage (if it was I would be much less concerned!). This is very TMI but I’m thinking maybe I should call my clinic or doctor about it. I went to the toilet which was as you’d expect but there was also what I can only describe as orange oil as well 😳 I looked it up to see if it was the progesterone but I couldn’t really find anything. It came up with something called keriorrhea which sounds quite alarming! It says it’s usually after eating 2 kinds of fish but I haven’t had any fish at all! The only thing that it could be is I started Pregnacare Max which has a fish oil tablet and maybe I’m not absorbing it. I hoped it was just a build up of the pessaries because the leaflet says they’re coated in vegetable oil but I don’t think that’s likely if it should be white.

I guess I’ll see if it happens again and if it does I’ll have to call my doctor 😔

MrTumbleTumble · 17/03/2021 12:57

@Mrbay where are you getting your lubion from? Mine is £107 per week!! I'm on it for another 3 weeks (I'm 5 weeks today) so paying £8-10 per day would be quite a big saving.

MrTumbleTumble · 17/03/2021 13:03

@ThePurpleFairy I'm not surprised you were a bit alarmed. Is it worth ringing your clinic to see what they think?

@Rachae Those sound like great numbers, I hope your EC goes well. We had the lowest number collected that we've ever had and I got my BFP this time so quality over quantity worked for us.

@Motherofkittens28 I've never had a lap but I think personally when I've had failed rounds, it's been important to me to feel like I've done everything I can do, so I'd probably lean towards going for it. Having said that, being deprived of your DP for a week beforehand will be tough. Not surprising you're struggling to make a decision.

Motherofkittens28 · 17/03/2021 13:05

Thanks @Mrbay that's really good to hear, I want sure how long I would have to wait afterwards before we could go again. I'm off the same view, if I don't get it done I'll always be wondering if that would have sorted things out and really the timing probably couldn't be better as I couldn't do another cycle until May anyway. Just have to decide if I want to try and squeeze a cycle in before our wedding in July!

Mrbay · 17/03/2021 13:08

@ThePurpleFairy - i would give the clinic a call as I've cut a pessary open and it was white throughout (i got bored and wanted to see if there was liquid in the middle, there wasn't!)
I am sure it is nothing and maybe you had a very oily dinner and your body couldn't absorb it all.

@MrTumbleTumble - thankfully I am NHS (DH is in the army so we skipped the postage lottery and got 3 full cycles funded - got to be some benefits to 16 years of service!)
I haven't personally had to purchase it, but when I looked into it Asda was the cheapest but the consultant also quoted that Stork is £8 per viral so I'm not sure if Care get a discount for their patients?

OP posts:
Mrbay · 17/03/2021 13:10

@MrTumbleTumble - that is interesting - look at the mark up that the pharmacies put on it! bnf.nice.org.uk/medicinal-forms/progesterone.html

OP posts:
MrTumbleTumble · 17/03/2021 13:17

Very interesting - I'm with Care and paying £107 per week from Stork via Care! I'm shocked at the markup, but after just paying £8,500 (including drugs etc) for a fresh IVF cycle of course Care are adding a markup on the drugs as well. Our old clinic used to give us a prescription to get from the pharmacy and I much preferred it that way. Hopefully if this is a sticky one we'll never have to do IVF again but this thread has been an eye opener for a few things.

RosemaryRosemary · 17/03/2021 13:40

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster in this thread!

I am currently 6dp5dt.

My clinic have said I should test at 14 days past my transfer. Is there any widely acknowledged amount of days post transfer where the test is likely to be correct? e.g. 10 days? The wait is killing me!

Mrbay · 17/03/2021 13:48

@MrTumbleTumble - the care across Care is very diverse! Ours will write you a private prescription if you ask as I had a quick google and 7 virals is around £88 online! The savings soon add up!
Fingers crossed this is your round - how long until OTD for you?

Welcome @RosemaryRosemary - I got a bfp from day 7 but really from 9dp5dt is when my consultant says you'll see a result (my clinic otd is 14 days past transfer)

OP posts:
RosemaryRosemary · 17/03/2021 13:52

Great thanks @Mrbay. I can hold off a few more days! Good luck to all.

ThePurpleFairy · 17/03/2021 13:59

@Mrbay @MrTumbleTumble thank you, I will call them if it happens again as I don’t want to cause a big drama if it was just a one off. I know the pessaries are white but I wondered if maybe they change colour when they melt. Maybe I should experiment and melt one like a candle 😂 If anything I think it will be that I can’t absorb the fish oil in the omega 3 tablet, which I guess would need looking into if that is the case. I’ll see - typical of me to decide to move onto Pregnacare Max at the same time as starting progesterone!

I was feeling pretty yuck this morning. So strange that I’m only all of a sudden having such strong symptoms from the progesterone, but have just snaffled a few chocolate digestives and they have worked some magic 😉

Sounds promising @Rachae, sometimes stimming lower for a bit longer yields better results. I wasn’t ready at my first scan, they pulled me back for another 2 I think in the end! I think they scanned me Friday, Sunday and Monday, then I had EC the Friday. I was an OHSS concern but had 17 eggs in the end. I was initially a bit shocked as I had like 32 follicles on all my scans before stims, then only 13 of those were mature but 11 fertilised and 10 progressed to day 5 so definitely quality over quantity!

ThePurpleFairy · 17/03/2021 14:17

Welcome @RosemaryRosemary sorry I missed your post. Welcome! Did you have a fresh or frozen transfer? With fresh you just have to be careful because too early you can get a false positive from your trigger injection

MrTumbleTumble · 17/03/2021 14:26

@Mrbay OTD was last Saturday and was a BFP, so I'm officially 5 weeks pregnant today. I'll only be on the lubion for 3 more weeks but I'm seriously unimpressed that it's going to cost more than expected.

@RosemaryRosemary I tested at 9dp5dt and got a strong positive, so I probably would have got a positive a few days earlier. If you've done a fresh cycle you can still have the trigger shot in your system 10 - 14 days past trigger though, so unless you test the trigger out you won't know it's a true positive until after that point. The wait is so hard though, I've never managed to hold out until OTD!

2mumlife · 17/03/2021 16:03

@Mrbay @MrTumbleTumble from what I understand I'll be on just 6 progesterone injections 1 a day for 6 days, around the actual transfer date itself, with just the cyclogest and estrogen pills the rest of the wait. Hoping it'll be enough to stop me bleeding at least... I just keep thinking 'load me up - i'll inject and shove cyclogest anywhere they want as much as they want if it'll make it stick'!
