@2mumlife I felt the exact same way, I don't think I'll ever forget weeing in a sample cup to take a pregnancy test and it being bright red because of how much I was bleeding. And the clinic insisting I still take all the hormones etc until OTD despite very clearly being on my period. I've done the lubion injections + pessaries now for the last 2 cycles and even when it was a BFN I didn't bleed until 5 or 6 days after I stopped taking it. They're not particularly pleasant injections (the liquid is thick, so the needle is thicker than the stims and it stays under your skin a bit longer) but I felt so reassured that I had that bit of extra support, and I wouldn't experience the early bleeding again that I think it's worth putting up with.

RosemaryRosemary · 17/03/2021 16:29

@MrTumbleTumble - thanks for the info. I had a fresh cycle and didn't "test out" my trigger so maybe more sensible to wait although tomorrow will be day 14 since my trigger

Did anyone else find EC really painful? I read that for a lot of people, they hardly feel anything but it was bad for me. Maybe because of my endo

RosemaryRosemary · 17/03/2021 16:34

@MrTumbleTumble I also don't love injecting the Lubion and managed to bruise myself quite badly trying to inject too quick

My least favourite injection is Arovi - a blood thinner. Needle is thicker than the others or blunt and I need to projectile jab in into the skin to get it in!

Florarenniemackintosh · 17/03/2021 17:56

Hey super late to this discussion but may I join ? 33yo, trying for #1 on round one

we've done our transfer and now is the dreaded tww (hello old friend).

Does anyone else feel like this process has taught them to be patient af?

I don't know about anyone else but when we were ttc naturally I was obsessive about I dunno ... everything diet exercise and now being through ivf process I've given up red meat, coffee and alcohol but that's my limit! Otherwise I'm putting a lot of faith in putting my feet up!!

How are you all today? Wishing you all health and happiness and luck too!

Florarenniemackintosh · 17/03/2021 17:59

Has anyone else found the oestrogen/progesterone final stage to be constipational?

Florarenniemackintosh · 17/03/2021 18:00

@rosemaryrosemary I found ec okay, I was in a little bit of pain when I woke up but after extra drugs I felt fine after that and the swelling eased quickly.

Rachae · 17/03/2021 18:35

Thanks very much @Mrbay and glad to hear you're well!
@MrTumbleTumble thanks also and that's super encouraging.. Congratulations!
Welcome @Rosemaryrosemary and best of luck! Yes my first EC was an absolute shocker.. Despite me asking for as much knock out as possible. I'm terrified to do it all again soon as was so painful. (No endo for me)
@ThePurpleFairy that sounds pretty weird but fingers crossed its nothing serious! I def had weird colour changes to urine with Pregnacare.. but often neon orange or yellow. 32 follicles gosh!! Yea they've kept me on the same dose of stims so I'm curious as to what happens on Friday. I've convinced myself it's better to get a lower amount of eggs, given our huge drop off last time!
@Florarenniemackintosh welcome! I've kind of gone the opposite of what I did before and given up exercising and healthy eating haha! I still drink coffee and gave up alcohol. I went all healthy etc last cycle and it didn't make a difference so decided to just give my body what it wants this time.. Which it turns out is massive bar of galaxy and takeaways. Oh well! Xx

RosemaryRosemary · 17/03/2021 18:51

@Rachae I'm also drinking one cup of coffee a day. It's a real pleasure of mine and I thought denying myself would put my body at greater stress due to caffeine withdrawals. I've also read various advice about coffee consumption during IVF from totally abstention to reduce intake to 1-2 cups a day. I did give up alcohol. Miss red wine!

Mrbay · 17/03/2021 19:09

ah sorry @MrTumbleTumble - missed that part of your post.
When have they booked your scan for?
ref the taking a test but knowing you have your period, then being told to continue meds and try again in 2-days time - that was the cruellest part of IVF for me. It was even worst when I had a miscarriage, I knew I had passed everything but I was told to continue meds until I got a negative test, even though my scan didn't show anything! I went against their advice and stopped when EPU told me I wasn't pregnant.

@2mumlife - I was exactly the same, I just wanted to feel that I had done everything possible to at least give the embryo a chance.

@RosemaryRosemary - yep hated EC, my last one was the worst - I felt so much during the procedure.

hi @Florarenniemackintosh - congrats on being PUPO!! How many days past transfer are you?
Nope, I have lost patience with it all! I would love a hot bath and a normal coffee!! You wait until you get a BFP and then you have the wait until the 6 or 7 week scan - that's where I am now and can't say I am enjoying it.

I've got a works zoom social on Friday so me and my manager have hatched a plan, I will be drinking tonic and limes from a wine glass - just going to have to remember to get louder and louder so no one guesses!

Anyone else feeling utterly exhausted? I'm only 5wks1d and I've had my first morning of sickness. I can't sleep past 5am each day and I am off to the loo 2 - 3 times per night. I shouldn't complain but I did think the first few weeks are meant to be the calm before the storm.

Rachae · 17/03/2021 19:35

@Rosemaryrosemary good for you!! Im not sure coffee is great for us anyways... I like it too much tho. I tried giving it up last cycle and ended up with migraines! I only have 2 cups a day anyways. Yea I think giving up alcohol is wise and to be honest, I'm really enjoying seedlip gin! Literally can't taste the difference and it's a lovely after work treat on a Friday.
@Mrbay I think the symptoms are all excellent things! I've been pregnant 3 times and never had symptoms (all ended in MC).. Altho it's not an indicator.. Id def feel really encouraged if I do get them. Esp. The sickness! Xc

JessTTC · 17/03/2021 19:46

@Mrbay I’m with you! I’m 4+4 today and feeling it already! so exhausted, weeing all day and all night, waking up around 3:30/4am and then being unable to get back to sleep properly, one sore boob and I’ve had a few bouts of nausea but no sick yet. I’m so happy to have all these symptoms though, such a relief to feel like somethings going on down there! Like you said though, if this is the calm before the storm I might regret saying that!
Enjoy your Friday night (pretend) vinos!

wishfulbean · 17/03/2021 20:03

@RosemaryRosemary I found the immediate aftermath of EC very uncomfortable. I was in quite sever discomfort even up until transfer day (fresh cycle) and the transfer itself was very uncomfortable - although there were some issues getting the speculum to open up properly so perhaps it was more that😱. Other than cramps likely caused by progesterone I'm feeling more normal now.

IVFat43 · 17/03/2021 22:46

Wow I feel like lots going on here since the last time I was on, lovely to see BFPs popping up, so sorry to all the road hurdles people are facing to get to BFPs and especially to those with BFNs..

@RichmondLady1981 I completely know how you feel and I’m so sorry that you didn’t have the news you deserve, I’m not sure I’d do PGT again.

This past week has been hard and having been so angry I’ve logged a complaint officially with Care which they’re now investigating.

Apparently £1200 thaw charges do apply if they fail (luckily that’s per batch and not per embryo as I found out) which they have said they’re willing to waiver, small mercy! Just waiting on the FER costs now to get resolved..

Waiting for Day1 to start any day now and looking forward to ET early April 🤞

Ps. Meds - always purchase from Asda, their markups are extortionate! At ours you only need to pay £50 for a prescription if you need injections.., free otherwise.. I’ve saved a fortune!

Florarenniemackintosh · 18/03/2021 06:08

@Rachae ha I know my body always wants takeaways! After reading around 100 million books, websites and forums I'm not sure that anything really makes a huge difference. Probably not drinking and smoking, but I think everything else is up to the body and the embryo. This is the hardest to accept, though so I'm just trying to be calm and happy :)

@Mrbay oh congratulations that is wonderful news! Proof that all this bodily intrusion works phew :) Theres a seven week wait after ?! Omgaaawd I'm gonna spend a fortune on extra ultrasounds at this rate. I am 3+4 I think. What is pupo?

dragonfly1978 · 18/03/2021 07:56

Help - really not sure what to think! Am 12dp5dt today and OTD tomorrow but I decided I would use the official test today and then come off progesterone as was absolutely sure this cycle had been unsuccessful. I did the test this morning and no line within 2-3 mins, there are no instructions with the test they give you so I don't know how long it has to be left for before you read it. I threw it in the bin, threw all progesterone away and was resigned to that. An hour later I went to have a shower, saw it in the bin with a really clear pink line on it???? Could it be pink if it's an evap line or is there any hope it may be a positive?

Mancbear88 · 18/03/2021 08:23

@dragonfly1978 that looks positive, can you pop out and get another test? First Response are good.

MrTumbleTumble · 18/03/2021 10:14

@dragonfly1978 that looks positive to me, too! I definitely think you need to go and get some more. Fingers crossed for you.

@IVFat43 glad they've agreed to waive some of the fees at least, the hidden costs are extortionate. We've been to 3 different clinics in the same area and viewed a couple more (over 8 years) and we've never seen anything like it!

Honey1989 · 18/03/2021 10:18

@Mrbay @JessTTC I am 5 weeks today and I’m very aware of my lower abdomen!? It’s not painful or even crampy. I’m just aware of it. Still have that feel that AF is on its way. This stage is just so scary

IVFat43 · 18/03/2021 10:36

@MrTumbleTumble I have considered going to another clinic if we have a 2nd round.. I have been extremely happy with their service, if only they were more transparent with their add ons! Any you recommend?

Hope you’re well 💞

elsiegoggings · 18/03/2021 10:49

I just got the lightest lightest line on a clear blue test and got really excited but have since googled it and found that clear blue tests can do this and leave false lines! The one I did a few days ago didn't leave any lines at all but this one is a real squinter but there's the faintest line. My husband can see it too. I'm 6dt5dt, still no symptoms. (Apart from being very emotional and a bit hot in the mornings and a bit of acid reflux)

elsiegoggings · 18/03/2021 10:50

@dragonfly1978 that is definitely positive! Smile

Mrbay · 18/03/2021 10:54

@Rachae - it's just hard when you've had a loss before as you just cannot get overly excited.

@JessTTC - I just wish I could have a full nights sleep! I was asleep by 9.30pm, awake at 1am and 5am. Managed to fall back asleep at 6am until 8.30am - thank god!!
Hopefully the social doesn't go on past 9.30 as I doubt I'll be awake!!

@ivf43 - I'm glad that they have waived some of the charges, hopefully they will now be crystal clear with others.

@Florarenniemackintosh - it's hard to know which is my body and what is caused by the progesterone!
PuPO is pregnant until proven otherwise.
I mean the wait from the bfp until the scan at either 6 or 7weeks to check that everything is ok.

@dragonfly1978 - think you need to grab another test! As it won't show a line unless you have HCG in your system!!

@Honey1989 - I feel the same - feels like the pressure of when you need a wee! Wish to be fair, I do need all the time!

I did another test this morning and had a slight panic - it's a clear blue digital and it is still saying 2-3 weeks, I was hoping that it would be on 3+ now as I am 5+3 now but my wee was so pale so I expect that had something to do with it.
So many thoughts are racing through my head as this is the time that I lost my last pregnancy.
Do I wait u till the 1st for my 7+2 scan or get in after 6weeks??!

MrTumbleTumble · 18/03/2021 11:01

@IVFat43 we ended up staying with Care Birmingham because I agree, there are things about them that are great, they're just considerably more expensive than everyone else and add lots of charges on where you don't expect them. Hope your next round is successful 🤞🤞

@Mrbay I've been having the exact same problem - 1 day behind you so 5+1 today but still only showing 2-3 on a digital. My scan is also delayed because of Easter so I'll be 8 weeks by the time I'm scanned. Feeling v nervous and not sure how I'm going to get through the next few weeks.

Kitttycatt · 18/03/2021 11:20

@MrTumbleTumble @Mrbay try not to worry about the clear blue 3+ it's only a rough guess. I got mine 5+3

@dragonfly1978 I've never used that type of test but it does look like a positive to me. When you speak to your clinic maybe ask to go in for a blood test?

Mancbear88 · 18/03/2021 11:59

@Mrbay I asked the nurse about them as I was only 1-2 on my test date and she said ignore it, it’s nothing to worry about. I had a missed miscarriage at my last pregnancy found at my 12 week scan, so I’m finding this really hard. But trying to go one day at a time!
Also I’ve found that my first wee of the day is not at all the best, any others throughout the day the tests are massively stronger.
