@RichmondLady1981 thank you - I can’t believe it! My story is fresh cycle in 2019 - BFP missed miscarriage at 12 year scan. First FET cancelled a week before lockdown, then another cancelled due to an admin issue (only after northisterone). 1st FET transfer failed and this is my 2nd FET transfer.

JessTTC · 09/03/2021 17:04

Congratulations @Mancbear88, it’s a surreal feeling isn’t it?!

@RichmondLady1981
Thank you, I honestly can’t quite believe it! Recap - 32, 4 cycles, double hatching 5dFET this time with scratch, embryo glue, steroids, metformin and lubion. I’ve also not eaten any dairy, wheat or refined sugar since January which has been a killer! Whether that’s helped this time or not I just don’t know!

@thetallgirl other than feeling like I was about to have a huge period, I’ve had no symptoms at all and having bled early in the TWW before I just wanted to know if that was about to happen again and give me some time to process before official test day.

@Mrbay I’ve stocked up on every kind of test on my way home from work tonight, I’m now terrified I had some dodgy test and tomorrow’s will be negative! I’m going to be obsessing over those lines with you! I’m so terrified I’ll have an ectopic pregnancy after some insane googling earlier.

Mrbay · 09/03/2021 17:09

@Motherofkittens28 - I think that is the best way to think about it!

@mancbear88 - huge congratulations!!!!

@2mumlife I’m so sorry for your negative, please look after yourself and take the time you need to grieve xxx

Mrbay · 09/03/2021 17:13

@thetallgirl - if it helps, I have no idea what my embryo was graded, I didn't ask as i really didn't want to worry about it.

@JessTTC - sounds like me!! I brought a cheap asda test and there was barely a line, but positive on a CB digital from the same wee so waste of £1.65!!
I've been on Insta looking at line progression 🙈🙈🙈
Send help!!
Can I ask, are you worried about twins? Feel free to not answer but for me, the thought terrifies me.

OP posts:
JessTTC · 09/03/2021 17:43

@Mrbay utterly terrified! Not at the prospect of having two healthy babies, just at the risks and being able to carry them to term. If it’s twins, it’ll be bloody hard work and expensive and exhausting but one or two as long as they’re healthy then I’ll take what I can get as long as I get to keep them. I’m 5dp and the line came up almost immediately and strong so I am wondering if maybe both have stuck, such a long wait now to keep hold of them and get to the scan! It’s going to drive me crazy!

Kitttycatt · 09/03/2021 19:00

Huge congratulations @JessTTC @Mancbear88 @Mrbay long may the BFP's continue!

@2mumlife So sorry it didn't work for you this time. Take a break and look after yourself xx

Mrbay · 09/03/2021 19:27

@jessttc - I bet! That's how I would feel! Yeah could be both of them have stuck!!
Mine came up instantly on sunday morning, its strong but I'm not sure how strong as I've not used FR before. I'm not sure when to use my next CB digital either.

@kittttycat - thank you 😊

@kitttycatt - how are you feeling, have you got a date for your scan yet?

OP posts:
Mancbear88 · 09/03/2021 19:38

@JessTTC I can’t believe it, it’s so strange.

Moving onto worrying if it’s a chemical pregnancy now as I tested positive later than a lot of people on the internet, but my positive on my FRER is very strong and the reviews of the cheap ones are very poor, so maybe would have tested positive earlier on a good test. Plus my OTD isn’t till Monday. But I think we’ll always have something to worry about, I’ll just move onto to worrying about the next scan after that. Fingers crossed we’ve all got sticky beans.

@Kitttycatt thank you Smile

dragonfly1978 · 09/03/2021 19:52

@Mancbear88 @JessTTC congratulations, amazing news!!!!!

Motherofkittens28 · 09/03/2021 20:49

@Mancbear88 congratulations? How many days post transfer are you?

Mancbear88 · 09/03/2021 21:02

@Motherofkittens28 thank you - 8dp5dt today

FirstTimeIVFers · 09/03/2021 21:51

Sorry - I’m new to using forums. What does 8dp5dt mean?
Ivf is like learning a new language on its own, then there’s the acronyms and nicknames online aswell haha

Mancbear88 · 09/03/2021 22:26

@FirstTimeIVFers it’s like another language!!

8 days post 5 day transfer

Some other ones are:
PUPO - pregnant until proved otherwise
ET - embryo transfer, EC - embryo collection,
OTD - official test day, FRER - first response early result, 2WW - two week wait

MrTumbleTumble · 10/03/2021 04:30

Morning all, woke up at 3am desperate for a wee and decided to test (9dp5dt, fresh IVF) and it's a BFP! Genuinely shocked as I was convinced it hadn't worked - we were already talking about the next round.

The only "symptoms" I've had are all ones that I have experienced before on failed cycles and they have been side effects of the lubion injections so I felt certain it hadn't worked.

Now just keeping our fingers crossed it sticks - I've only been pregnant once before and it gave us our son but we had quite a few goes at trying to get DW pregnant and we managed it once but she miscarried at 6 weeks so we're trying not to get our hopes up too much. But today, I am pregnant!

thetallgirl · 10/03/2021 04:46

@MrTumbleTumble amazing news congratulations!

I was also up at 3. Small amount of darkish blood when I wiped. None since. Unsure if that's good or bad. I'm 7dp5dt today. Time will tell... haven't tested yet.

MrTumbleTumble · 10/03/2021 05:32

@thetallgirl it could be implantation bleeding? I've heard that dark blood is better than bright red because it's older, so hopefully you're not out yet.

Nix49816 · 10/03/2021 07:18

The end of the road for me today. Was expecting a negative test and just really didn't feel it or have any symptoms etc but it's still upsetting losing that last shred of hope. I know I need to keep thinking it's not back to square one, we have 5 in the freezer to go again but I think it's the waiting in IVF that's so hard 😞

Does anyone know what the process is from here for FET? How long do I have to wait before we can have another transfer and what does it entail?

Thanks everyone, it's been really helpful reading this forum the last few weeks. Good luck to everyone still on their journey xx

2mumlife · 10/03/2021 07:47

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. My clinic has decided to keep me fertility hell and have told me to finish off the cyclogest and still go for pregnancy bloods, despite heavy blood flow. Which at this point just feels cruel and unnecessary.

@RichmondLady1981 Honestly I don't think I want to go through another cycle if I'm just going to bleed this early again. 4dp5dt so this one basically didn't have a hope in hell of sticking. It just feels pointless at the moment.

MrTumbleTumble · 10/03/2021 08:24

@2mumlife I had exactly the same problem with my last fresh cycle, bled through the pessaries. I remember doing a hpt and putting dipping the test in the urine pot that was bright red and sobbing. The clinic did look at my progesterone levels after that though and I've not had the same problem since having cyclogest + lubion. Every failed cycle is so tough but it's also a learning experience, and if they know what went wrong last time they can try and fix it next time.

@Nix49816 I don't know if the procedure varies from clinic to clinic but mine likes you to have a bleed following IVF and start the next day 1 (so a month later) on oestrogen tablets / patches. I think they do 2 scans (maybe days 8 and 10, around that time). Embryo transfer is arranged based on the scans and how your womb lining responds but is around day 17-21. You start your progesterone at some point around embryo transfer but I can't remember exactly when! FET is much, much less time consuming and invasive, and the impact on your body from all the hormones is much less. I think it also has better success rates than a fresh cycle? Sorry you're out this time, but good luck for the next go.

Georgia2799 · 10/03/2021 08:32

@Nix49816 so sorry to hear it hasn’t worked out, it can be such a heartbreaking journey !! It’s so hard to stay positive but least you have 5 left which is really good news xx I’m not at the stage yet were I’ve had my FET so sorry I can’t be much help on what it entails, but my clinics told me I need at least 2 periods before they can consider.

Kitttycatt · 10/03/2021 08:38

@Nix49816 so sorry it hasn't worked out for you this time. 5 in the freezer is amazing and I wish you every success when you can start again x

@MrTumbleTumble wow congratulations 🎉

@Mrbay I'm ok thanks. Still getting some period style cramps, sore boobs and now bloating! How are you? Yes, my 7 week scan is on 22 March. Do you have to wait until your OTD to book yours? Time is going super slowly for me!

Mrbay · 10/03/2021 09:04

@Mancbear88 - I don't feel that thought leaves you until you get to your 7-week scan - I am going out of mind - the wait between the BFP and the scan is proving not to be as exciting as I hoped!
I've been Googling FRER to see how mine compares - FML!

@MrTumbleTumble - Massive congratulations!!! I bet you are over the moon!

@Nix49816 - I am so sorry but as said above, having 5 in the freezer is amazing - you will be your time soon x

@2mumlife - I know exactly how you feel I had the same when I had a a fail and I had to keep taking the meds until my test went negative - I decided after the empty scan that I would cease medication. The issue is you could still be pregnant as the bleed could be from the transfer. I know how hard it feels to continue but please do try to hold in there.
Will your clinic test your progesterone this week? Mine didn't test mine but agreed to up my progesterone for this cycle transfer - only took them until cycle 3 to agree!

@kitttycatt - I feel my symptoms have settled down a little, which adds to the worry!!
only 12-days! that is exciting!!
No my clinic will not book you until on or after OTD which is day 14 or 15 - can't remember. I called them yesterday to discuss progesterone timings and said that I had been testing and I joked that I wouldn't tell her the outcome yet, the nurse laughed and said I've heard nothing!!

OP posts:
2mumlife · 10/03/2021 09:10

@MrTumbleTumble Yeah I'm going to see what consultant says after my outcome review and request a consultant appointmnet. I feel if they don't change anything on the protcol, nothing is going to change. Interesting to hear about the FET as I'd been wondering what happens, and whether I'd be less likely to bleed early. It ridiculous, my normal cycle length is anywhere between 30-36 days. Everytime they give me fertility drugs I come crashing down 23-27 days.
