Aww thanks @RichmondLady1981 😊 Yes I will certainly try and I appreciate ths tips. The problem I think is that I only ever get to speak with nurses when I go to the clinic. You only get the consultant prior to a cycle or afterwards. The nurses are so super helpful and lovely.. But I don't get that 'rigour' in my conversation, as they're not specialists. If that makes sense. As I'm not paying for this too.. I don't really have a right to complain etc.
Fingers crossed I get some more info today tho, I'm on my way to the scan now.

2mumlife · 08/03/2021 09:21

Mixed feelings this morning, 5dp5dt and still having some bleeding that I'm feeling much more uncertain and worried about. I'm really lucky compared to others that my clinic is generally really good, so I sent off a message to them this morning about bleeding the past 2 days, and I've already had a call back from one of the nurses. Not been able to offer much reassurance to be honest, just to keep in touch with them about what I'm experiencing and to keep taking the cyclogest. Just going to be a lot of anxious trips to the loo happening for the rest of today. Concerned that my sore boobs of previous days have gone. My cycle went really quick when I was on IUI drugs, so I'm just becoming concerned this is actually just my body trying to have a period amongst a load of progesterone... Sad

FirstTimeIVFers · 08/03/2021 09:44

Morning everyone.
My clinic rang this morning and from the 7 eggs they took out of me on Friday - we have 4 embryos! 3 of which are high quality apparently and are waiting til day 5 and blastocyst stage to transfer.
Has anyone else had blastocysts check into Hotel Uterus? We’re having icsi if that makes any difference.
Obviously, I’m happy that they’re good quality but I’m gutted that they aren’t coming home with me today like I thought.
And who knew you could cry so much over a bundle of cells? I keep busting out sobbing at the thought of them - let’s blame all the synthetic hormones and nothing to do with me just being unstable.

Motherofkittens28 · 08/03/2021 09:53

@2mumlife do you reckon the sore boobs could be from the trigger? Mine are massive and heavy and sore and started getting that way from just before EC I think, or else its the progesterone because they were certainly sore from before ET. I'm only 2dp5dt so there is no way these symptoms are from pregnancy.

Motherofkittens28 · 08/03/2021 09:55

@2mumlife sorry, I meant that the reduction in soreness isn't a bad sign if its the trigger leaving your system. I believe the hcg from pregnancy would take some time to built up enough for you to feel it so you may not have got there yet.

Georgia2799 · 08/03/2021 09:57

@FirstTimeIVFers ohh god this was me yesterday, I cried and cried and cried some more !!
3 high quality embryos sounds really positive keep us updated 😊

thetallgirl · 08/03/2021 10:24

@FirstTimeIVFers that's great news! Sounds like they want to keep them for a few extra days to pick the best one for transfer, but hopefully you'll get transfer and one (or two!) for the freezer! Congrats.

@Motherofkittens28 my boobs were so sensitive and sore after trigger. I've noticed that it's eased since transfer and basically gone now. I'm convinced that's the trigger leaving my system though, so like you say, not a bad thing. I'm 5dp5dt today, so 12 days post trigger - would make sense for it to be gone by now. @2mumlife I have read that implantation bleeding can happen for up to 3 days so hopefully that's all it is.

Mrbay · 08/03/2021 10:33

@2mumlife - ladies I know from previous threads had bleeding, their babies are coming up one now so do try not to worry. Oh and the bleeding can be from the transfer, it just takes a few days to weeks to detach.
My boobs aren't as intense as they were last week, the achyness comes and goes. You are still PUPO and it is far too early for your period to be breaking through - normally this would be 8dp5dt or 9dp5dt at the earliest.

@FirstTimeIVFers - brilliant news!!! Fingers crossed for a positive day 5 update. Yep I had a single blast transfer and they are now making themselves known!

2mumlife · 08/03/2021 11:38

@Motherofkittens28 hmm I've never had any symptoms from trigger before in my IUI cycles, and I'm on exactly the same trigger and dosage as then. I was putting the sore boobs down to progesterone, but I'm just thinking my progesterone maybe has just dropped now despite the cyclogest and thats why they've stopped hurting.

@thetallgirl Yeah, it is a bit mixed signs though as nurse said, as some aspects are more like an implantation bleed, and some are more like erring on a period.

@Mrbay Yeah the blood is fresh though, not brown old blood. I had a chat with a friend who bled quite a lot with her first who is going on 3 now, who said what I described sounds familiar to what she remembers with her daughter. I'm just worried as in all our failed IUI attempts my period came on before the end of the 2WW, and I'm 12 days post trigger now, so this is pretty much when its always started in the IUI attempts, so I just know fertility drugs send me from a long cycle to a ridiculously short cycle in the past.

@FirstTimeIVFers I was an emotional riot after my day 3 update as well. Fingers crossed your wee'uns keep growing nicely and for a positive day 5 update and ET

Mrbay · 08/03/2021 12:39

@2mumlife - I'm sorry I'm not sure what else I can say that will ease your mind. My clinic don't up progesterone if you start bleeding either - I've bleed early on both my fresh transfers previously, this time they upped my progesterone - 2 x cyclogest and 1 x lubion.
I have everything crossed for you.

@2mumlife I bled fresh blood for four days when I was 4.5 weeks preg with my son who is now coming up to his second birthday. It can happen. 💕 X

2mumlife · 08/03/2021 13:19

@Mrbay I just don't know. With the IUIs I knew it hadn't worked, and just knew it was actual period. With this though I just feel so unsure about what the low down is. I cant decide if I want to try testing over the coming days or not.

@RichmondLady1981 Thank you, its really good to hear someone who experienced fresh bleeding too. Hope you're enjoying being back teaching face-to-face. I know my adult students will be so relieved to have kids back to school and able to concentrate on their own studies again!

Nix49816 · 08/03/2021 13:27

First day back in the office for me today so am currently laid on a meeting room floor with the door locked so my mid day progesterone pessary can absorb. Was so much easier on the sofa or bed working from home! 😂

thetallgirl · 08/03/2021 13:55

@Nix49816 the image of you on the meeting room floor has made me laugh!
I have to say that doing IVF during lockdown has made it so much easier. Before lockdown I was always rushing around and needed to be somewhere which would have made it so much harder. I suspect we will need to do a round in future and I'm already thinking 'how will I do it if I'm back at work properly?!' I'm sure I'll find a way though!

Dbop100 · 08/03/2021 15:03

Just had my CD10 scan and there's one decent follicle on the right and a small one on the left. Feeling a little disappointed we don't have two strong ones but keeping everything crossed the little one catches up and we can go ahead with the egg collection on Friday. If we only have one then we'll just do yet another IUI 🙄

MrTumbleTumble · 08/03/2021 15:13

@2mumlife how many DPO are you? Too early to do an early test? Bleeding through the progesterone is awful, it happened on my last fresh cycle so they've upped my progesterone the last couple of times. Hopefully it's not a sign of your period starting.

@Nix49816 that image has got me giggling as well! The things we do, eh!

@Dbop100 is it too late for them to up your stims? I hate the saying that it only takes one but it really does, this could still be your time!

I'm 7dp5dt and feeling very little apart from low mood and a bit of constipation (TMI, sorry!) so not feeling very hopeful. OTD is Saturday (12dp5dt) but I think I'm going to test on Wednesday as that will be the equivalent of 14dpo (9dp5dt). At least the torture won't be prolonged past then and I can get on with planning the next cycle.

willithappen · 08/03/2021 15:18

Hi ladies - anyone who has just done a freeze all can you help?

I'm on day 8 of my cycle now since bleed from after egg retrieval and I have had some a small bit of spotting today, more brown in colour than anything. I also have the slightest twinge in my lower stomach area and felt pressure on my left ovary earlier but nothing since

Is this normal? I have never spotted during a cycle before this

Mrbay · 08/03/2021 15:45

@Nix49816 - I'm loving the imagery!! That is why I do them at the back, in and no mess!!

@Dbop100 - I had similar on cycle 1 - got 3 eggs/3 blasts so it can happen. I found protein helped give them the energy to get that few more mm needed.

@MrTumbleTumble - I do hope you get your BFP. I was the same, the sooner I know either way, the sooner I can get on and research and plan next steps.

@willithappen - I would note it just in case, I've not had a freeze all but my last two periods before this cycle have had mid month spotting. Not a lot of help but as it is brown it is old blood.

Please send help - I've just brought more tests - fml

@MrTumbleTumble I was exactly the same in my last cycles but my nurse recommended I drink a fibrogel every morning which I have done religiously this time. Touch wood but it’s kept me regular and comfortable this time as far as that regions concerned!

I’m 4dp5dt - I feel nothing at all most the time and then occasionally feel like I’m gearing up for a mahussive period and this round is over. My boobs might be sore but I think that might be more because I’m pushing on them so often hoping that they are sore!

I have a long history of ridiculous over, early testing but this time so far have had zero want to test at all. I’ve pretty much written this cycle off and don’t want to be miserable at work when it’s the kids first week back.
Lockdown learning was ideal for IVF, I feel like if there is the slightest chance it has worked, then I will definitely of overdone it today/this week. 31 6 and 7 year olds when you’re supposed to be taking it easy is near impossible! Definitely took my mind off it at least! As much as I love having them back, i am very jealous of you guys working from home!

RichmondLady1981 · 08/03/2021 16:42

@willithappen hi I’m on a freeze all. I had egg collection on the Wednesday 24th and started spotting on the 10th day which then lead to a normal flow- not heavy at all. In fact today’s flow is reasonably light. I’ve had a few twinges that have lasted a split second and have been sharp but that’s all. I was told I had a triple layer lining at 9.8 so not thin. I think everyone will experience their first period differently but mine certainly hasn’t been painful. If in real pain id call the surgery for reassurance. X

Dbop100 · 08/03/2021 17:04

@MrTumbleTumble thanks, I don't think they would up the stims as I'm doing a Natural Modified cycle, which is low stims, as I have low AMH and a low follicle count the theory is I won't get many eggs anyway so they don't want to fry the ones I will get, so going for quality over quantity.

@Mrbay yes I've been trying to get protein in, might go have another protein drink now actually!

I mean it is what it is, if I can even get 2 I'll be happy just so we can see how they behave under a microscope, maybe it'll shed some light on things at least

willithappen · 08/03/2021 19:03

Hi @RichmondLady1981
I had my egg collection 24th Feb also. I then started a full flow bleed 2nd March which lasted 3 days so finished 4th March and nothing since until today. So today is technically day 7 of my new cycle after.
Without the IVF meds I guess I would have normally had my period around this time so maybe it's my body playing up with that

RichmondLady1981 · 08/03/2021 20:13

@willithappen it does sound a bit odd, but as you say all the meds throw our body out of synch so it’s hard to judge what’s ok. Just give your clinic a call tomorrow and speak to the nurse. I’m sure it’s all fine.

Remind me what you’re up to next.

willithappen · 08/03/2021 20:25

@RichmondLady1981 yeah very odd, I'm just worried it throws this cycle out of whack for me as I'm relying on dates

So next for me is waiting on my period to come - again lol. Had my bleed from egg collection and been told to call on my next bleed also. I will start oestrogen tablets day 1 of that cycle (looking like the end of this month) and then pessaries at some point. They have provisionally booked me in for transfer 17th April - but all depends on period arriving so dates are based of me having a 28 day cycle again. I have four in the freezer at the moment. Unexplained infertility though so each new stage terrifies me more.

Are you still waiting on results from testing?

Motherofkittens28 · 08/03/2021 21:43

Evening all, just wondering how much cyclogest everyone is on as some had mentioned needing more for this cycle than in previous. Im on 400mg twice a day, hope its enough!
