@Georgia2799 I had a fresh cycle. I hope your as lucky as I was!

Hazza2021 · 07/03/2021 16:16

@Nix49816 Thank you so do I. I hope your lucky on this round too!

Nix49816 · 07/03/2021 16:23

@Mrbay congratulations that's so exciting for you!!

@MrTumbleTumble I couldn't agree more! This forum does help though, seeing what other people are going through and that it does actually work out for lots of people, gives us all hope!

Mrbay · 07/03/2021 16:29

@Nix49816 - its completely understandable, I remember think right I'll come off the coil, track ovulation and that will be it - that was 5 years ago!

Thank you for all the well wishes, I just kinda knew that this cycle, would be our cycle.
Thankfully the line this morning came up pretty much straight away and it very clear and strong so I'm taking comfort in that it is stronger than my chemical.

@Mrbay I've been looking at my fitbit data, and my resting heart rate been going up too very similar to yours, but it started that pattern since before ET so I might be clutching at straws here!

@thetallgirl How are you getting on today?

Motherofkittens28 · 07/03/2021 17:08

@Mrbay thats so wonderful! Congratulations!

thetallgirl · 07/03/2021 17:13

@2mumlife not a lot to report. Trying (and failing) to not overthink things. Still getting occasional cramps and was hot in bed but I took my BBT this morning and it was low. Planning to take it each morning now and see if it indicates anything. I tracked for 3 years TTC but stopped in January when we started IVF.

I was just doing an Amazon order so added 2 FRER tests (oops) ... they're coming tomorrow but I'm planning to hold out and test on Saturday. I keep telling myself this round hasn't worked but the truth is I have no idea yet, so I will see what next weekend brings. Hopefully work will be a welcome distraction and it'll be Saturday in no time!

JessTTC · 07/03/2021 17:26

Thoughts and hugs to those that haven’t had the news they needed this weekend ❤️
@Nix49816 and @MrTumbleTumble I’m only 3dp5dt and I’m feeling completely hopeless too. I used to spend the first 4/5 days walking on the clouds, full of hope and plans for the future but multiple failed rounds has beaten that out of me now. I’ve already written this round off and am thinking about how/where we will do the next round. I wish I could enjoy the potential and still get excited but my anxiety is through the roof at the minute and reality of another failed round is soul crushing.
@Mrbay congratulations! It’s so lovely to hear some happy news 😌 Any symptoms you noticed that were different to previous rounds? Xxx

dragonfly1978 · 07/03/2021 17:42

@Mrbay that is amazing news, congratulations!!!!!!

Nix49816 · 07/03/2021 17:43

@JessTTC I completely understand. Try to stay strong, we need to keep remembering that this does work for so many people so at some point hopefully it will be our turn.

RichmondLady1981 · 07/03/2021 17:57

@Mrbay OH MY GOODNESS... huge congratulations to you!!! You’ve been on such a long journey- you totally deserve this! Will you contact the clinic or do you just have to wait?

I remember you mentioned a kind of heartbeat feeling (increase led circulation?) in your uterus and increased HR. Did you notice anything else?

Dbop100 · 07/03/2021 18:16

@Mrbay congratulations lovely news! I think I remember you saying you had low AMH? Mines 2.1, curious what kind of protocol you did, mine is Natural Modified.

2mumlife · 07/03/2021 18:23

@thetallgirl Oh wow, that's impressive keeping up the BBT readings for so long. Because we need donor sperm I've never done BBT readings, so feel I'm a bit late to start trying to get a handle on it! My sweating has gone, but I still have the right side discomfort. Its defintely not a cramping feeling for me, and it comes and goes. I hope you got yourself some other self-care goodies from Amazon to enjoy. I'm also trying to hold off until Saturday.

Blessing12 · 07/03/2021 18:26

@Mrbay Massive Congratulations to you, fantastic news 💞💙

Mrbay · 07/03/2021 19:36

Thank you all again, I still am in a state of shock.

I know that like myself, you would like to know what symptoms I have had - sore boobs, a pulsing sensation in my tummy and extreme thirst! sorry @JessTTCm - the only real difference is the cramps feel more like a flutter than a period cramp. each time I have had sore boobs and tiredness but no cramps until approaching my period.

Things that I have done differently from this cycle to previous, I have had a fibroid removed towards the end of last year. I've gone from long to short protocol and also massively reduced my stim dosage. I've got steroids as well, well might as well throw the kitchen sink at it!
Supplements wise, Pregnacare Max, vit d, b12, Ubiquinol and folate.
The biggest change I feel has been my mind set, this time I stopped looking at the stats and just went with it.
I am not over the last hurdle yet and there are plenty to negotiate but at least I am given the shot to get over them.

Post transfer, I laid down for 5 mins, watched a comedy video and laughed! laughed all the way home. Didn't have any cramps following transfer so I feel that may have helped.
I've walked loads last week - anywhere from 3 to 8 miles per day. Oh and I don't normal say about diet as I don't feel we should be restricted given the stress of IVF but I have switched to one decafe coffee a day.

sorry it's very long.

@Dbop100 - yeah mine is 2.1 and AFC of less than 4 I think. I did short protocol with a really low dose of stims (150iu, i think, of Ovaleap) - got this one inside and 4 in the freezer! I am really lucky to have a small drop off rate, cycle 1 100% made it to freezer/transfer (3 blastos) and cycle 2, 2 eggs, both got to day 5 but only one was suitable to transfer. This time, 8 eggs, 6 mature so to end with 5 blasts was simply not expected.

@2mumlife - i did start to wonder if I was trying to wish that HR was related to pregnancy, but you could be next :)

@thetallgirl - how many days past transfer will you be on Saturday?

@RichmondLady1981 - they won't accept the result until a week Monday! No bloods will be taken, will just book into my 6-week scan.

@Mrbay that is awesome news! 😍

thetallgirl · 07/03/2021 20:34

@Mrbay that is amazing to hear. Huge congrats again. I'm so pleased for you - sounds like you've been on a long journey to get here and now is your time!

Saturday will be 10dp5dt. OTD isn't until the following Tuesday, 13dp5dt, so I've told myself I'll test on Saturday and see, then retest on OTD.

Dbop100 · 07/03/2021 20:36

Thanks so much for sharing @Mrbay your story gives me some hope! I'm on short protocol but taking Meriofert 150 IU, would be happy if I got 2 eggs, can't believe how many you got that's such a good result. What kind of steroids did you take? Congrats again

Melissa1983 · 07/03/2021 21:13

Congratulations @Mrbay that's great news and amazing it's a clear positive ❤️

I had a much better day today mostly because I kept myself busy and stayed away from the dreaded google. I'm sorry so many of you are feeling low and thinking it may not have worked but it's not over yet so keep going. We are all doing such an amazing job.

I think I'm the opposite, I'm thinking positive and feel like I know it's worked so I'm in for a huge fall if it doesn't, this is my first transfer and I live in hope x

Motherofkittens28 · 07/03/2021 21:51

@Melissa1983 I'm the same first round and I'm convinced it has worked, even though i was very pessimistic at the start. Our one egg made it through to ET and at great quality so I feel that this is the one! Its been so long since I felt positive about our ttc journey so im going to enjoy this for as long as it lasts!

Rachae · 07/03/2021 22:08

Hey everyone,
Sorry to ask about this again, I'm just so frustrated.
My scan is tomorrow morning to see how the down reg. Has gone and start me on stims.
I can't get my head around why they didn't start me on day 21 of my cycle for this. They started me on cycle day 2, so I haven't had a period yet as its only around day 23 now and I have a 32-34 day cycle.
Even if they say I have to be one this buserelin for another week... I won't have had a period.

Do you think there's been a cock up? Everything I'm reading online says you start long protocol (3 weeks Buserelin injections before stims) on day 21.
I just feel I'm going to go tomorrow, they're going to say give it another week... Which I know I still won't have a period due to my cycle... And then what? They cancel me after all this?

RichmondLady1981 · 08/03/2021 07:20

Hi @Rachae. It’s awful when you feel like this - I have felt this way too about parts of my treatment. I don’t know about your protocol personally but I would advise that you ask to speak to to consultant about it in detail. It’s so important that you feel well informed and understand what they’re doing and why. I always go with a list of questions written down to hand, as I always forget and my mind goes to jelly as soon as I get into the clinic. Hope you get some answers.

Happy Monday everyone! Extra special good luck to those who are back in school! 🙌🏻 👩‍🏫

RichmondLady1981 · 08/03/2021 07:26

By the way it’s International Women’s Day! We need some positivity for a Monday, ladies so I’ll start...

  1. I got to see the Pret Team this morning at Gloucester Road tube for my coffee! It’s been 2 months!
  1. I get to see those little smiling faces at school today.
  1. Getting up to go back to work has made me feel ‘normal’ again and is giving me something to focus on other than baby making! 😀.

let’s hear some more! 🙌🏻

Mrbay · 08/03/2021 07:26

Thank you all again so much, DH and I still can't believe it.

@thetallgirl - it's been a very informative journey I'll say.
Sounds like a good plan, if your clinic are like mine that won't say the result is official until the OTD or 2days later. Everything crossed for you 🤞❤

@motherofkittens28 @Melissa1983 - that is exactly how i felt from the very start of this round. Positive mental attitude is something I have focused on with this round.

@Rachae - that does sound odd, as I thought long was from day21 and short day 2-4. I would just ask the nurse why as it'll just go over and over in your head. As you said about your cycle before, I wouldn't leave until they have discussed what their protocol is for long cycles as I think upi said previously they would cancel you?

@dbop100 - when I got told my AMH, i can remember thinking well this is over before it starts. Every consultant has said it's the age of the eggs that really effect the quality not the number that you collect. They really only want 8 to 12 at a collection as this gives a higher chance of them being mature and ready to be fertilised.
At this egg collection, everyone was shocked at the amount I produced, i burst into tears when i found out!
I am on prednisolone, which most clinics have been told not to prescribe it during the pandemic. However, mine said that the risks are low for me as I'm WFH so hardly interact with people.
