@IVFat43 hi! What does inconclusive mean? Or is that what you’ll find out?

swirls3468 · 03/03/2021 18:26

Hello everyone ! Hope you don’t mind me joining again. I joined last thread but dropped off it a little bit. We have our IVF information session on Friday which is also my birthday!! What a birthday. When did everyone start their treatment? Was it first day of period or do they down regulate the hormones first? Many thanks Charlotte

Mancbear88 · 03/03/2021 18:30

@Mrbay housework wise I’m using it to get out of all jobs I don’t want to do and ignoring it for any I don’t mind doing. That’s how it works isn’t it?

swirls3468 · 03/03/2021 18:39

Also I am absolutely terrified about the whole thing. Please someone reassure me it’s not that bad. I’m scared of things going wrong. Probably stupid stuff like this perforating my bladder during egg collection or something.

Mrbay · 03/03/2021 19:21

Evening girls :)

Sorry @thetallgirl - I must have missed your update, sorry that you've had a high drop off rate but at least you have 2 in the best place. Congratulations on being PUPO!

@2mumlife - that is nice of her, I love it when you feel like a person rather just a number. I would say an easy transfer is a very good sign!!! Now just to enjoy the 2ww!!

@Pansy222 - funny enough that happened to me today!! But what a relief!!

@Rachae - I'm not sure if that would delay you further, sad that they will not give you anything to bring the bleed on as it sounds like you'll be back to square one every time you try to start a cycle.

@IVFat43 - that's still good however, I know it is disappointing but at least you would haven't done 2 FETs with embryos that are less likely to result in a live birth.

@swirls3468 - welcome!! It depends on if you go on long protocol (start day 21 and switches of your cycle so they are able to fully control it) or short protocol (start stims on day 2 or 3, no down reg) both protocols take 7 - 14 days for stim and EC to follow 72hrs later from trigger. Are you hoping to start on your next cycle?
The process is stressful, I am not going to lie, EC can be a bit uncomfortable but you shouldn't have any complications but there are risks, your clinic will go through this with you.

@Mancbear88 - that's what I have been doing, but I did the horses myself yesterday and I do wonder if I overdid it a bit - the silly things you worry about!

@RichmondLady1981 @Mrbay
Thanks... it’s reassuring in one way that I’ve saved myself heartache with the 3 abnormal embryos. It’s paid for itself in one way..

It can happen and apparently it’s quite common. I can do another biopsy but means thaw and refreeze and I wouldn’t do that as the quality can be effected, so it’s a risk continuing but we’re going to do it.. don’t want to appear negative but I’m preparing for the worse.. either it doesn’t implant, I miscarry or there’s health issues...

RichmondLady1981 · 03/03/2021 20:34

Just catching up on all this activity-

@2mumlife HUGE congratulations on your transfer. Wow! 2 little fighters! Big hugs. X

@Motherofkittens28 see- another low egg number success story from 2mumlife. All the luck for your tomorrow. 💫

Sorry about your drop off @thetallgirl. Like you said, focus on your two little embies that are home and cozy now. Everything crossed. My doctor had a CC transferred which is now her 3 year old son! X

RichmondLady1981 · 03/03/2021 20:35

@Mrbay I generally steer clear of housework. 👸🏼

RichmondLady1981 · 03/03/2021 20:37

@IVFat43 I’ve been doing an awful a lot of research on genetic testing. Over the last hour I’ve read posts on fertility friends of many ladies who didn’t rant to risk adding an extra thaw, and went ahead and transferred. Many with healthy babies.

When will you be transfer? For what it’s worth I would do the same as you. X

RichmondLady1981 · 03/03/2021 20:41

@swirls3468 Welcome. It’s totally normal to feel that way. We are all taking risks emotionally and physically but we have to try and be brave and stay positive. All we can do is put our faith in the professionals and think about what you’d like to happen. Loads of support here. 💪

Mrbay · 03/03/2021 20:48

@richmondlady1981 - like I said previously, it's not 100% that they'll make the right decision so I think you've done the right thing to start thinking about transferring them.

DH isn't proactive on the housework so it stresses me out a bit so I'm gonna try to relax and get over a bit of mess!!

I'm so crampy tonight, wish I could cuddle a hot water bottle!

IVFat43 · 03/03/2021 21:13

@RichmondLady1981 Thanks, it means a lot..

That’s reassuring, I do hope it ends in a success story. Until I know the protocol we’ll be following I’m unsure.. I should know Monday. Hoping it’ll be my next cycle, I’m currently on day 14 so plenty time to prepare.. I’m usually around 31/32 days... This way, I think they’ll put 2 in too which I’m happy with..

When will you get your results? Remind me, how many did you have tested?

thetallgirl · 03/03/2021 21:30

Thanks @RichmondLady1981 @Mrbay and everyone else for your well wishes.

Over the course of the afternoon, I've come to accept the large drop off resulting in our 2 embryos. I just really hope one (or both!) stick. In a way, our 'unexplained' status feels a little bit explained now. I've No idea what we can do about that if this round doesn't work, but that's something to possibly consider in the future.

For now I'm going to try and enjoy being PUPO with so many others on here Smile

JessTTC · 03/03/2021 21:33

Congratulations to all you PUPOs! So jealous of all the will power holding out on the testing - I wish I was so strong!
I am in tomorrow afternoon to transfer our final 2 embryos - have had major anxiety tonight that they won’t survive the thaw tomorrow morning. I have planned and tried to prep myself for every worst case scenario but this one amazingly hadn’t crossed my mind until this evening.
@thetallgirl try not to focus on the gradings, they judge by looks, they can’t really tell the potential and they’re back in the best place for them to flourish. Sending you lots of sticky, positive vibes!

RichmondLady1981 · 04/03/2021 07:04

@Mrbay ahh bless you. Try to relax as much as possible. When is your official test?

@IVFat43 everything crossed for your transfer to come around quickly. I have three embryos. 5BB, 5BB and 5BA. I only had three eggs collected so I was lucky to get these. Praying for one but I know only too well (from forums) that many ladies at 39 have to do a few cycles to get one normal egg from PGS. Crazy costs too. Wont get my result until wc 15th March. It’s a long wait as you know.

Mrbay · 04/03/2021 07:56

Ah @richmondlady1981 so sorry I got you mixed up with @IVFat43 who has gotten her PGS - sorry to you both.

@richmondlady1981 - OTD Sunday 14th (mothers day) not sure how I feel about that.

I'm playing symptom spotting already 😬 gonna be a long 2ww!!
Anyone getting discharge? Mine is back - fun times!

I did this in a previous thread where we all started to get a bit stressed - name your top 3 things each day.
I'll go first- I'm going to explore in the woods with the dog at lunch
I'm wfh so at least I can stay in pjs!
We have sweets in the house and I plan to eat them all!!

RichmondLady1981 · 04/03/2021 09:00

@Mrbay I’m kinda in a TWW, just for my genetic testing results. Which I’m also finding petrifying. So I’ll join in.

  1. My husband is currently on his way back from my fave coffee shop with a large skinny cap with my name on it (possible treat too!)
  1. I have time in my schedule today to have a 2 hour cycles along the Thames
  1. It’s Goan curry for dinner!

😁

RichmondLady1981 · 04/03/2021 09:02

@Pansy222 congratulations on getting the job! How on earth did you manage that with everything else that’s going on? Wonder Woman!! 🌟

Pansy222 · 04/03/2021 09:23

@RichmondLady1981 I honestly don’t know 🤪 I can’t even remember the conversation!!!

@Melissa1983 Hi no I’ve been knitting for years but I’d say I’m still learning the basics. It’s very easy to start get a simple knit kit if your a super beginner and follow YouTube tutorials etc
It’s trial and error. Can you see photos ?

Pansy222 · 04/03/2021 09:26

I’m going to make it 4x4 it’s only simple squares

thetallgirl · 04/03/2021 09:46

I like this idea @Mrbay !

My 3 things today:

  • embryologist called and whilst none of the remaining embryos are good enough to freeze she had a 10 min convo with me and I now feel MUCH better about our 2 C grades that I'm PUPO with. She described them as 'beautiful' and 'good looking', said they developed normally and had good cell numbers at each point. Knowing this has calmed my worries. (Some fragmentation is the reason they're Cs)
  • had a surprise flower delivery this morning from DH which has put a big smile on my face - daffodils, some of which are now on my desk
  • planning a dog walk at lunch which I love and I know will clear my head a bit.

Impressive knitting @Pansy222 and well done on the job! I imagine knitting is really calming but not sure I have the patience to learn.

Motherofkittens28 · 04/03/2021 10:30

@Pansy222 love the knitting, im a quilter though very much a beginner. I find sewing by hand very relaxing, plus it gives me an excuse to sit and watch TV because I'm doing something!

My three things:
Being off work and getting to spend time with my three kitty cats
Watching lots of trashy box sets
Planning to bake some cookies later

Living the lockdown holiday dream!
