Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

Hi everyone, I'm officially in the two week wait with an embryo on board! :) It feels unreal even to write that!!
Wasn't the best of news this morning as none of our 8 developing embryos are suitable to freeze (although they'll give them another day just in case), so I'm worrying that it might mean that the one we've have transferred isn't great quality either. Nobody has talked about grading or anything, I was just told it's an early blastocyst and looks like it's doing well. So all hopes are on this one! As they say, it only takes one and I have all fingers and toes crossed that it gets comfy in there.... Not sure what to do with myself next haha

@6543336787gesgvjhg I didn't have ovary pain but I did have pain in my lower belly and turns out it was really bad gas from the cyclogest. A hot water bottle helped me a lot... I hope you feel better soon!!

beachbum85 · 28/03/2021 15:17

@Lclarke111 I had 5 over 10mm on Day 9 and then 9 over 10mm on Day 11, and they collected 9 on Day 15. 21 follicles is great! I wouldn't worry at all :)

Lclarke111 · 28/03/2021 15:42

@beachbum85 thank you so much, how did transfer go? Xx

beachbum85 · 28/03/2021 15:52

@Lclarke111 it was fine, thanks, pretty quick actually! I was quite nervous but everyone on the team was lovely and it was just a bit more uncomfortable than a smear test (mainly because they don't use any gel).

Lclarke111 · 28/03/2021 15:55

@beachbum85 I have got used to that pain- today she couldn't see my ovary, so she pushed on my tummy whilst prodding around in there, was uncomfortable but you eventually get used to that pain lol! Worst bit was I needed a wee as I had drink 1litre of water so my bloods would be ok lol s

6543336787gesgvjhg · 28/03/2021 16:02

@beachbum85 yeyyyy let the two week wait commence.

I'm hoping that is it the progesterone tablets as it started to hurt more when using them. It felts like gas like I've done 100 sit ups yesterday and you know when you wake up the next day and can't walk!

😟

ForeverHopeful17 · 28/03/2021 16:02

Hi ladies, thank you all so much for your well wishes. EC is tomorrow morning and I'm just feeling so anxious about the outcome.

@Narwhal88 that's amazing news that you have 8 embabies, I hope all keep going and you have lots of good quality blasts. I also think I have low progesterone so as much as I'm over the needles I will gladly carry on.

Congratulations on being PUPO @RedFaerieBoots and @Hazza2021 I've got my fingers crossed for both of you

ForeverHopeful17 · 28/03/2021 16:04

@beachbum85 congratulations on transfer today, sorry to see you don't have any Frosties but as you said it really only takes one so I've got my fingers tightly crossed for you!

Narwhal88 · 28/03/2021 16:06

@6543336787gesgvjhg I had pain that was like ovulation but worse Friday and yesterday (friday was egg collection). It wasn't bad enough to need pain relief yesterday though and has gone today. I would just take paracetamol and get a hot water bottle.

@Lclarke111 I had 20 follicles on day 7 first scan and then 19 on day 9 which is when we triggered. I then got 12 eggs and 10 were mature. I think everyone is so different though it's hard to compare.

@beachbum85 congratulations on transfer! Try not to worry about the grade, sometimes the best grade embryos don't stick and the poor ones do - it's just luck I think! Sounds positive that it was doing well 🙂 did you have McDonald's fries?!

Narwhal88 · 28/03/2021 16:08

@ForeverHopeful17 good luck with EC tomorrow, you will be fine try not to worry (I know that's impossible!) I hope you get lots of eggies!

Lclarke111 · 28/03/2021 16:47

@Narwhal88 thank you, 10 is great and i know everyone is different, it's just comforting to know we are doing ok- it's our first cycle and everything seems to feel unanswered xx

Lclarke111 · 28/03/2021 16:48

@ForeverHopeful17 good luck tomorrow x

Freya2015 · 28/03/2021 17:27

Hi

So I have my egg collection tomorrow at St heliers and i havent hyperstimulated . I had my blood test yesterday to check for my progesterone will know tomorrow but if i havent hyperstimulated do you think my progesterone will be normal ?

Donimo · 28/03/2021 19:12

Glad egg transfer went well @beachbum85. Think positively it only takes 1 and hope this little one grows well, fingers crossed for you. Hope you managed to get some rest today and your other half looked after you.

Good luck for egg collections tomorrow @ForeverHopeful17 and @Freya2015

6543336787gesgvjhg · 28/03/2021 20:50

Good luck for egg collections tomorrow. Thinking of you all xx

beachbum85 · 28/03/2021 22:36

Thank you for the positive thoughts @ForeverHopeful17, @Narwhal88 and @Domino!
I was a bit nauseous right after so I didn't have the fries then, but I did this evening :D
It was a nice, relaxed day and my partner is being just great (I earnt some extra cuddles!) and so positive :)

@Lclarke111 oh that doesn't sound pleasant! Did the prodding work? Did she find the ovary in the end?

@6543336787gesgvjhg sounds like the progesterone to me, unfortunately :( it's the worst... But it seems like the body gets used to it after a few days. Hope it gets better for you X

Good luck for tomorrow @ForeverHopeful17, @Freya2015 and everyone else with scans, EC or ET tomorrow xx

Lclarke111 · 29/03/2021 07:07

@beachbum85 I think either i was too bloated or my bladder was too full, but she did find it and 18 follicles growing in that one so was worth the prodding haha!

Started cetrotide in the mornings today, so currently feet up and massaging my belly- it is already bloated and large, and it's only cycle day 7!! X

Crazydoglady123 · 29/03/2021 07:31

Good luck for egg collections today

RedFaerieBoots · 29/03/2021 09:24

So our second one didn't develop much more...started slowing down instead so no frosty Sad

Means all hopes pinned on the one that was implanted on Saturday. So all fingers & toes crossed. Embryologist said it was a really good quality one so heres hoping.

beachbum85 · 29/03/2021 09:52

@RedFaerieBoots sorry to hear that, I know it's really disappointing! Our embryologist just called too and we have no frosties either :( And I understand the extra stress of knowing that the one implanted is the only hope, but we have to keep hoping! Everything crossed xx

@Lclarke111 with 18 follicles on one side, no wonder it's bloated and large! That's a great number! Take it easy... When's your next scan?

Lclarke111 · 29/03/2021 10:03

@beachbum85 thank you, my day 9 scan is weds so I will know how they are doing by then, I started cetrotide this morning- wow what a stinger!!

6543336787gesgvjhg · 29/03/2021 10:16

@RedFaerieBoots sorry to hear that, try not to dwell on that and relax. Think positive.

@beachbum85 thank you. I've woke up today so much better and the clinic said it's nothing to worry about.

Transfer booked in for half 11 tomorrow. Will get a call by 9am if anything changes.

All 11 are still going but one is slacking behind!

Just need them to reach the next stage in the morning now ConfusedSmileConfused

beachbum85 · 29/03/2021 10:27

@6543336787gesgvjhg I'm so glad you're feeling better :) Good luck for tomorrow!! It's so nerve racking isn't it?! With 11 the numbers are really on your side though, so try stay calm although it's near impossible x

@Lclarke111 good luck for Wed! I haven't taken cetrotide myself, but maybe you can ice the area? I've read of some women using arnica too, but I'm not sure exactly what for and I would always ask the nurses first. Hope it gets easier!

6543336787gesgvjhg · 29/03/2021 11:44

@Lclarke111 I found cetrotide got easier so hopefully it does for you too. It's shows that things are moving along though. I only did 6 cetrotide injections so hopefully not too much longer for you x

Lclarke111 · 29/03/2021 11:52

@6543336787gesgvjhg that sit up feeling is exactly how I have been feeling with my meds this week. Ooo I hope it gets easier- surprisingly bruising isn't too bad which is good, next scan weds and it cannot come sooner!!
