Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

Just wondering if any of you know the best time to eat prior to a scan. At my last scan the nurse couldn't get a good view of my ovaries. She said my bowels were too active. My scan was at 8.20 and I felt too anxious to eat prior to the scan so just had an orange juice that morning. My scan tomorrow is also 8.20, is it best to eat breakfast prior to it and if so how long prior?

I can't offer any advice @donimo but would love to know the answer if anybody can advise as I have had exactly the same probably at all of my scans!

@ForeverHopeful17 I am feeling quite anxious tbh! Ovaries feel very swollen now, finding it hard to stand for long periods. I really hope you are right about them catching up! When is your next scan?
@Donimo hope you get some good news tomorrow. I have no idea about eating. I haven't eaten prior to any of my scans as I was too anxious as well but they found my ovaries ok. Might just depend on the person, maybe have something little to settle the stomach so it's not as active?

@Donimo I didn't eat before the first scan as it was half 7 in the morning and second and third I'd eaten. Didn't realise that was a thing.

They have collected 11 eggs. It felt like 5 mins but she said it took 24 mins. I had lots of blood they said! Not in too much pain now but they said eat, pain killers and sleep every 4 hours.

Just about to have a nap now.

Also my hubby's sperm is good enough for IVF, originally it was ICSI but they said it meets the criteria for IVF so they will meet today/tonight.

@Donimo I didn't think about it much but I usually didn't eat before the scans. I had the same problem of an overactive bowel at my HyCoSy, but I was extremely nervous and I assumed it was the nerves rather than the lack of breakfast, as nobody commented at any of my other scans when I was much calmer. Sorry, not much help there!

@Narwhal88 sorry to hear you're feeling anxious! Hopefully the swollen ovaries are a sign of a great number of follicles maturing and catching up :) go easy on yourself and good luck for tomorrow!

Well had a wee update. My 2 are still in the game. They said at this stage both are very encouraging. One has the required 6 and the other 8. Obviously still a waiting game but so far they seem like wee fighters.

Still wobbly emotionally but feeling a wee bit optimistic and wanting to puke which is a weird feeling.

Has anyone felt they need to pee constantly on cyclogest pessaries? I mean I could always pee for Scotland but I think I've added in Ireland as well last couple of days.

So glad to hear your 2 are doing well @RedFaerieBoots, really nice to see that you've got 2 fighters there!! :) fingers crossed that they keep going this way. ET is planned for Saturday, right?

@Donimo I always had breakfast before my scan 11-12am and everything was good. I guess it depend on your system. Take it easy and do what you think is right.

@RedFaerieBoots if you're already getting embryos to listen, you definitely have something going there :)
I look forward to those new side effects! So far I'm feeling really tired but I did wake up in the middle of the night to go to pee, and I rarely do that. Put it down to overenthusiasm with following the advice to stay hydrated!

@beachbum85 Hi I’ve not heard anything but they said they would only call if they wasn’t doing very well, so I’m assuming I still have at least one in the running. My clinic tend to just leave them to do there thing.

Would you say that the week before EC you were very sore or bloated?
I will be working and hoping I want be in any pain or much discomfort up to EC.

You will start to feel a slight pressure on lower abdomen the last week as the follicles get bigger. Hopefully there shouldn't be any pain...just that pressure and heaviness.

Once you take the trigger injection, you will probably feel very bloated. I felt some difficulty and had to slow down a bit, so you can't walk too fast, bend too much, tummy might get upset etc. but I was able to work full time throughout my 3 ECs

Good luck, hope your EC goes smoothly and you get lots of good mature eggs

Is it your day 3 on down reg @IVFbabyF? How are you feeling? Any updates on dates?

Work keeps me super busy, which will be difficult to manage once the stims and appointments start, but definitely won't need to worry about additional distraction.

I finally received my meds and started to take progynova. Finally it feels like that something is happening. 🤗

To be honest I was shocked by the amount of meds I received.

@Orsh I finished norethisterone on Wednesday and had mock ET and picked up my meds yesterday, just waiting now for AF again to start stims! Eeeeek! Mock ET gave me cramps so was feeling a little rubbish yesterday and now it’s all nerves and excitement in equal measure. I really don’t want to mess the stims up! How are you getting on / feeling?
